Ares Infidels MC #7

Wrecker's Ensnarement

Rate this book
Wrecker

Walking that hazy line between his day job and his club isn’t an easy one for Wrecker. After all, there aren’t a whole lot of men who were both semi-outlaw bikers and cops. He likes to think he has the best of both worlds and until he meets a certain sexy therapist, he’s been happy with it. It’s a balancing act, but one he can manage. However, once he lays his eyes on Adara, he’s been wanting something else, her.

Only she isn’t making that easy for him. He’s spent months trying to get her to even let him get to the point of a date, let alone anything more. Then fate seems to step in and he gets her to agree to try to have a relationship, which has him over the moon. A relationship with her is something beautiful and sane in the middle of a daunting task. The task of finding out who might be murdering men in Tenillo and making it look like accidents or natural causes. Wrecker’s gut tells him it’s murder, even if the evidence doesn’t.

As if that isn’t enough, he has to deal with threats to Adara and her patients. He thinks they’re navigating everything just fine until his world is upended. He doesn’t know what to do. Can he reconcile his two halves yet again?

Adara

Coming to Tenillo hasn’t been an easy decision for Adara. There are things she rather forget, but life isn’t letting her. Only knowing she’s helping people in need makes it bearable. That and a certain hot biker cop who won’t seem to take no for an answer. She knows she shouldn’t let him get close. It’ll only end in heartache and disaster, but she can’t fight her feelings any longer.

Wrecker opens her eyes and body to many things, as well as her mind. He’s in this for the long haul. He wants her for more than a fun time. He wants forever and there’s nothing she rather give him than that. It’s something she never thought she would have. Only there’s danger and secrets that can destroy both of them. Will he ever forgive her if he finds out?

She’s facing down irate, crazy, and traumatized patients as she tries to build a life with the man she’s come to love. What will she do when the secrets in Tenillo are revealed, and she’s left out in the cold? Will Wrecker be ensnared enough to do the right thing, if not the legal thing? Will she be able to let him all the way in to see the woman she really is?

This little Texas town just gets a lot more dangerous and hotter as you get immersed in Wrecker’s Ensnarement.

An avid reader with a passion for romances that finally got the chance to write one of her own. The rest is history. Not what anyone thought for someone who has been a nurse and in healthcare management for years.

I sit writing as my two fur babies, my pugs Kujo and Khaos, impatiently wait for me to get done so they can lay on me as their human sofa!

My children are finally considered to be adults, so it's me, the hubby and the dogs.

I'm a iced tea drinking fiend who has insomnia, more ideas than I know what to do with, and a need to write them down.

Not too bad for a girl from rural Ohio in the foothills of Appalachia that grew up in a town of about 4000 people.

This one was just ok for me. There were parts that I liked, yet I was very bored when reading it. I think what I liked most was how much Adara surprised Wrecker and the guys. From her secret job duties, to the end when she finally got payback. I will say that I approved of both things. Glad to see that the guys were a little wary of Adara, they probably should stay on her good side.

Ensnared by the ultimate resister
Wrecker’s Ensnarement (AIMC Book 7) by Ciara St. James is an emotional roller coaster filled with action and suspense with a bit of mystery. Tenillo has become a hotbed of crime and Wrecker is set on solving it all, including the most mysterious set of deaths. Along with the stress of his work, the lady he knows is his one and only, outright refuses to give him a chance. Adara has her reasons, but Wrecker refuses to accept her flimsy excuses and cranks up his romantic, persistent, determined pursuit.
The plot has plenty of angst along with mysterious suspense that kept me guessing. Add in Wrecker and Adara’s chemistry and all bets are off. These two set the pages on fire while giving the reader, especially fans of this series, a greater insight of what in Adara’s past drives her.
Overall, this MC romance blends heat, heart, suspense, and danger as well as the love of a new couple into another fun and exciting read. Between all the MC characters, the extended family they have created, burgeoning love and the added elements of mysterious crime, this is another book in a MC series that’s not to be missed.
I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.

Wrecker and Adara's story is a wild ride! Wrecker manages to straddle the line between the MC and his job as a cop. Adara became connected to the club as the therapist for some of the guys' family members. Wrecker has been attracted to her since he laid eyes on her. Unfortunately, she has no interest in dating Wrecker no matter how attractive she finds him. But Wrecker isn't going to let his chance, their chance at happy ever after slip away. Adara can't resist the handsome biker lawman any longer and decides to give him a chance. These two were a perfect match. Adara's care of her patients is matched by Wrecker's devotion to his brothers and the Time Served MC. What a great addition to the Tenillo Guardians!

I have such a good time reading the Ares Infidels MC books. Love the Crazy Coven. Love the over-the-top alpha males. The series is unrealistic regarding MCs in general, but that does not affect the enjoyment of reading these entertaining books.

We finally learn of Adara’s past and yes indeed, as Sin asks Wrecker, “…can’t we ever find an old lady who doesn’t have trauma in her past or active trouble?” No, apparently they cannot. What would be the fun in normal?

I had a few problems with the premises of the book, and the resultant flaws in the story. I understand that we cannot have a working judicial or penal or even policing system for this story to work. And, sadly enough, in the real world, we do not. These systems are broken. And it is the holes that allow us to feel justified in all the killing of guilty people, those who escaped justice and continued to hurt others.

So…Adara is a therapist and we’ve had hints in the last couple books that all is not well with her. That she helps others is apparent – she is the therapist for the women the clubs support, those with abusive spouses and those who were stolen by human traffickers. These women, if not thriving (yet), are certainly in a better place because of Adara and the MC members. Since no Old Lady is free from issues, we know that she is going to have some, and we suspect they are going to be doozies.

And they are…no more about them, though. Additional info would spoil the story.

Adara has kept herself away from Wrecker over the last few books and my! he has been persistent. In this book, Wrecker finally gets his woman and he has worked hard at it. As a cop, he has had to compromise the ethics behind his job as a police detective. However, in his role to protect and defend, he’s rock solid. Where he – and the entire two MCs he is in league with – go astray is in the role of judge, jury and executioners. That has always been the case in this MC series.

In this story, I found myself grimacing at the assumptions made about what the “Law” can and cannot do when a woman is put in danger. Since the inability of the judicial, penal, and law enforcement systems to protect and to impart justice is the heart of the plotline, then what is written needs to be as accurate as possible. The actions, or rather inactions, are not accurate.

First of all, the police (unless they are corrupt) will follow up on a complaint of stalking so when Joy, Adara’s patient, was sent mail from the inmate that raped her, the police would not have ignored it with a shake of the head and a “gee, that’s awful; there’s nothing we can do.” There is actually a lot they can – and would – do. They would investigate. Since there was no obvious proof that the letter came from the inmate, I’m going to presume it was printed, not handwritten. It is easy to determine the printer that printed the document. Hello? 21st century technology here. The technology exists to imbed metadata into the printing of a document on a laser printer (the printer of choice these days) and a prison with laser printers would certainly have that technology activated. If they use dot matrix printers (older technology), it’s easy enough to determine the dox matrix printer. And a typewriter? Easy as 3.14 (pi). The police, with the warden, would have determined the printer, then looked at the schedule of men who used that printer. And so on…. Ultimately, the police would have been given the letters written by the inmate and held by the warden and the investigation would have progressed. Not solid proof…but…a lot of circumstantial evidence. Enough, perhaps, to keep the inmate incarcerated through his appeal. Unless there’s a corrupt judge.

But…that would not have moved the story along. Darn, when facts get in the way! Ms. St James is a good writer, but a bit more research would have smoothed out the inaccurate assumptions regarding law enforcement capability. Not all the police in Tenillo are corrupt, albeit they are understaffed. And Wrecker’s refusal to investigate shows a character defect that made me squirm because I liked him.

There is also some behavior that is out of character for the MCs. In particular, when Joy and her parents were threatened and the police did nothing, why didn’t the MCs immediately step up to provide protection as they have done previously when people who mattered to one or more of them were in danger? Wrecker didn’t even go to Sin to discuss it until late in the book.

And…why on earth wasn’t Joy taken to one of the safe houses with all the layers of security, not to mention the burly bikers hanging around in protection mode? Joy had made friends with the residents, felt good being there. Adara could have talked her into the move and she would have been better off. However…once again, the plot wouldn’t accommodate that logic.

Another out of character behavior involves Phantom and Preacher who, in previous books, have demonstrated their technical expertise and intelligence. Surely at least one of them would have realized that the released inmate could have driven a car other than his own and had a burner phone or two? In this book, way too much is mentioned in passing; they somehow placed a tracker on the inmate’s car and tapped his phone, but didn’t follow him?

There are just a few errors:
 “Fuming thw whole way.” That should be “Fuming THE whole way.”
 “It was time to show her no just ask or tell her.” I believe that should be “…NOT just ask or tell her.”
 “…she’d have to take those lessons to.” Wrong homonym; that should read “…she’d have to take those lessons TOO.”

I rated this book 3.5 stars and rounded up because I like the characters and will definitely keep reading. While there are several holes in this story, I like the characters and I have to admit, there is something cathartic in having true evil punished.

Not very written sadly, and extremely boring. Should be a warning for extreme violence.

So I started reading this book tonight at 11 pm when I couldn’t sleep. Huge mistake. In the first paragraph there is a very graphic scene, that I couldn’t get out of my mind and gave me a nightmare. So I was in two minds whether to carry on reading this book or not. Did I enjoy it? In parts I did, it’s just not very well written, about past trauma….. yet again. Getting tired of saying the same things over and over.

Wrecker/Liam met Adara in the previous book. Adara is a therapist to Ember and ? It’s pretty obvious in the previous book the plot that was about Adara. I’m not sure how I felt about it to be honest.

Adara has very had something traumatic happen in her life, as she’s so wary around Liam, and having a relationship. The author doesn’t tell us straight away, what had happened to her so I was guessing all the way through. I really felt like she should have talked to Liam about it before they got involved.

There’s not a lot of a plot with this one sadly. Liam is a detective and deputy chief of the police. Adara is a therapist who gets way to involved with her patients. So much so that she makes herself poorly over their problems. There is a side plot that is a bit silly if you ask me.

There’s a few major issues with this book. Adara acts like she isn’t mentally stable at times. She doesn’t want a relationship as she’s obviously had something traumatic happen to her. Yet the first time they have sex she practically jumps on him.
The first time they have sex without a condom, she’s crying and panicking that she could be pregnant. The next time they have sex she actively wants him to not wear one. 🤔
Adara who doesn’t want a relationship practically moves in with Liam/Wrecker within a few days.

I could go on but won’t. There’s a lot wrong with this one sadly. I’m not even mentioning about the serial killer. Except to say that it really doesn’t make sense. 😂😂😂😂. 🙈

This is the 13th book in the Tenillo Guardians series but the 7th Ares Infidels MC book. This is a not a standalone; you really need to read all the preceding books (both series; Time Served MC by Cee Bowerman and Ares Infidels by Ciara St James. We 1st met Adara in Rampage’s Enchantment when she started counseling Ember. Wrecker is interested in getting to know Adara and beginning a relationship, but Adara resists as she’s got a big secret and feels that she doesn’t deserve a good man and/or her happily ever after. Wrecker does his best to change her mind but just as things start to come together Adara’s secret is revealed. Wrecker has to decide what to do about the secret Adara revealed. We learn who is killing some of the men who make their living selling, drugs women and other horrible crimes. This story gives us a few answers/resolutions to some issues from previous books and presents a few more questions.
Ciara weaves quite the intriguing tale. While Tenillo, Texas seems like your average quiet small town there looks to be a lot going on under the surface. The series alternates between the Time Served MC (by Cee Bowerman) and the Ares Infidels MC (written by Ciara St James). Next up will the next book about the Time Served MC by Cee Bowerman. I can’t wait for all the rest of the stories and if I could; I’d live in Tenillo, TX.

Couldn't leave a review after reading so posy it here. Excuse my language HOLY SHIT BALLS CIARA ST. JAMES!!! I love love this series. Ares Infidels and Time Served are such unbelievable reads full of action , love and mystery. You get right into each book from page one. WHAT A RIDE!! When Wrecker started finding these unexplainable murders i was intrigued wanted to solve it.
Adara captured my heart from the start I knew there was a story there when she kept refusing Wrecker. Wrecker knew Adara was his ride or die.
Adara, she felt what her patients felt, she understood them.
Wrecker being the cop needed to solve 7 murders. Lets say when he finds the person he is shocked, disbelief. Not only himself but all the brothers from Ares Infidels and Time Served.
Do they get their HEA got to read.
I will say after reading I have a better understanding how victims of rape feel.

The first time we meet Adara is in Rampage’s Enchantment where she starts counselling Ember. In this book we see that Wrecker’s very interested in getting to know Adara and beginning a relationship, but Adara resists as she’s got a secret and feels that she doesn’t deserve a good man or a HEA. Wrecker manages to be able to work between being an MC member and being a cop and does his best to change her mind but just as things start to come together Adara’s secret is revealed. He must then decide what to do and how to deal with both the secret and Adara. This story gives us a some answers/issues from previous books and presents a few more questions.
NOTE: This is a not a standalone; you really need to read all the preceding books (both series; Time Served MC by Cee Bowerman and Ares Infidels by Ciara St James in order.

What you expect was going to happen did. There were no plot twists. Same rambling dialogue as well. When the heroine is trying to explain her point, poorly, and she isn't getting her point across, she gets hysterical instead of rationally explaining her stance. There remains a very poor understanding of psychology and an even poorer understanding of HIPPA.
I have continued to try to read this series because it crosses with Cee Bowerman's Time Served. If these books weren't so entrenched, I would have not continued beyond the first two or three in the series. I feel the basic plot is good, it's just the execution which needs serious work. If you are struggling as well, just know that, yes, the therapist is the serial killer.

Wrecker and Adara

This was an intense story that dealt with some heavy issues. Ciara handled those issues with honesty and compassion. Adara is an amazingly strong woman and she finds a strong man in.Wrecker. He is in love at first sight with her but due to past trauma that left her with trust issues it takes awhile for her to give him a chance. They are a romantic and passionate couple so there is a satisfying amount of spice in story. They are still searching for the person who is murdering men who have traumatized women. But the question is do they really want to arrest the person who is taking out the "trash". This is another exciting book by Ciara; I enjoyed reading it and you will too.

Again there is no warning attached to this book about suicide included in this novel. Also, the description in this book of how suicide attempts are treated at the hospital both in the ER and as an inpatient on a psych ward are... not consistent with what I've known to happen. Some may wonder why I continue to read this author's work since I clearly have no fondness for the books in this series. Well, they are tied to Cee Bowerman's Time Served MC books which I very much enjoy. You have to read both series in order I feel to keep up with plot issues that cross over between the books, otherwise you get lost. I tried.

Wrecker and Adara

Wrecker and Adara's tale is a thrilling rollercoaster! This biker cop's got skills - juggling MC responsibilities with law enforcement duties without breaking a sweat. Adara's connection to the club runs deep as the family therapist. Wrecker's smitten, but Adara's playing hard to get despite her obvious attraction. Wrecker's determined to win her over and seal their happily-ever-after. Eventually, Adara surrenders to Wrecker's rugged charm and gives love a shot. Match made in heaven - Adara's patients get top-notch care, just like Wrecker's Time Served MC brothers.

Wrecker's perfect choice

I always start a new AIMC book thinking there is no way she can do better but she does. Adara has been in other books and I am so glad she got her own story and Wrecker is perfect for her. MS St James writes using in characters that draw you in and make you read her books multiple times. Wrecker doesn't give up on Adara even though she shuts him down lots of times. The story line in this book was developed over a couple of books and she finished it with perfection.

Wrecker’s Ensnarement is book 7 in the Tenillo Guardians AIMC series written by the fabulous author Ciara St. James. This is Deputy Chief Liam 'Wrecker' Dickerson and Adara's 'Lil Dove' Lancaster wild, hot, sexy and very emotional story. Like with previous books amazing characters plus outstanding story line, drama, suspense, secrets, danger, hot alpha bikers, strong smart ladies and a lot of loyalty and romance. Ciara St. James does it again another must read!!I absolutely fell in love with this story!

This story was one of my most favorites. It took Wrecker awhile to Ensnare Adara, but finally he had to show her that they'd be perfect together. Adara is an awesome therapist and lets her heart get involved with some of her patient's and her attitude with others. She had a secret side job that know one knew about; especially Wrecker. She eventually comes clean and they share some club business with her as well. She had her own issues to deal with as well. She not only gets justice for some of her friends and client's, but in the end gets her own. Happy reading.

A terrific series

This was another fantastic story, and a great addition to the series. It was a bit difficult to read some of the content regarding the rapes and abuse that some have suffered. There were also some very descriptive violent situations (towards the criminals that caused the rape and abuse) that could be a trigger for some. Just be aware.
I was happy that Wrecker finally got his own HEA, though that road was still a bit bumpy. I can't wait for more of this series.
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.

Wrecker is part of the Tenillo Guardians Mc and a cop. His had his eye on the a certain sassy therapist. He thinks she’s playing hard to get. In reality she has a broken past and can’t trust any man to keep his word. Adara has treated some of the women in the Tenillo Guardians and is close with some of the members. She get hot flashes when Wrecker walks on to the room. After someone breaks in to her office, is hands on with Adara. Nobody will get to her. He will protect her with his life. Amazing surprise comes with this epic book can’t wait for you to read it and fall in love again.

This one wasn’t bad. Probs the best so far. I like the heroine, she wasn’t like the others in that bratty sense.

I guessed from the former books that she was the serial killer Wrecker was hunting. I liked these two together.

This book gave the reader some answers due to the serial killer plot. So it was good to finally see more plot action. As I mentioned in my last review (of the Time Served MC book) the last few have been stagnant and slow moving on the actual crimes that twined these books.

But like the previous AIMC books, the dialogue between characters wasn’t great.

Strong woman and Hot Biker!

Loved it! One mystery solved and I won't spoil it. Wrecker comes in like a wrecking ball tired of waiting on Adara to agree to one date so he makes it so she can't say no in a good way of course. He slowly breaks down her wall and it was so fun to watch her flounder at his words and try to fight her attraction we all know how that went lol.
A must read Love this series!

Great series continues

I really like Wrecker. He's loving and is a good cop. He wants to protect the innocent from evil. Adara takes into herself some of the suffering her patients go through. We finally find out who the killer is that Wrecker has been investigating. I was the person rethought it was too (no spoilers). Tenillo still has a bunch of crime that they're all trying to solve.

I chose this rating because this was a pretty interesting book. I enjoyed pretty much all of the characters. I also enjoyed Wrecker and Adara story. The author did an amazing job putting these characters together. Now this story threw me for a loop. I did not expect what happened to happen the way it did. I was also intrigued. Great read! I recommend this book to all romance reader and MC lovers.

Wrecker’s Ensnarement by Ciara St James

This book is a continuation of the AIMC series and just as wonderful as the previous books. Adara and Liam’s story had a twist in it that wasn’t totally unexpected. I enjoy a good story line with a strong heroine and a strong alpha male and this book definitely had that.

Tough to read but continues the story well. A serial killer may be working in Tenillo, and Wrecker is ar his wits' end trying to identify the killer. Adorable is the therapist now working with Ember and her daughter, and Liam, aka Wrecker,is attracted to her. She has been brushing him off. She has many secrets and is trying to keep them all.

WOW

Quite a fun read. I didn’t think Adara would have been the one doing the murders. She was good at them.
So glad she finally came out to Wrecker. Such secrets to live with.
Glad they found the men who had raped her all those years ago. Plus she was able to torture them.
Definitely an interesting read- thank you.
