Connecting with Nature to bring out the Queen in you
The author is back this time with six types of Queens. The pandemic and how it changed her and helped her realize to get back to her connect is brought out in the book.
The Fire Queen who blazes through a trail despite all the hardships was an excellent start. The various women who were just normal women but who chose to move ahead were inspiring. The affirmations and the connection with fire and the Sun was encouraging to look into life from a different perspective.
In the Water Queen, the author has even brought in stories from Norse mythology to folk tales, (Sleeping Beauty) to explain how the water and its fluidity would help in bringing out the true grasp of emotions.
The Air Queen brought in magic and spells and how the tones and words affect a woman's life and how to change life by merely expressing and thinking differently than the normal way that we are taught since childhood.
The Earth Queen stays grounded to the earth and understands plants and trees instead of getting away from nature (even the gym).
The Metal Queen was short and the connection to Gold, mercury and Nature in the end was also well brought out.
The Hygge Queen who learns to manage each element and use them to live life to her full potential without being bound by anything or anyone was a perfect way to create a new self after changing all the old habits.
The book explains the author's own experiences and from other strong women who had managed to break the mould and create life on their own terms and embrace the Queens that they are.
Good inspiring and unique read.

Reign: 16 secrets from 6 Queens to rule your world with clarity, connection and sovereignty, by Caroline Hurry.

What an absolute gem of a book.

Reign is a fascinating read which is sure to inspire, educate and delight you with its wonderfully witty and descriptive writing. You will discover and learn about Earth’s four elements: Fire, Earth, Air and Water. Each section is written with humour, knowledge, and imagination.

The power inside us to succeed in what we perceive to be impossible. Feel empowered after reading about the challenges women have faced in the past and present, only to rise stronger to live fulfilling lives on their terms.

It’s all about connecting with your inner self: the quiet voice that is rarely listened to. An uplifting book that will resonate long after you have read these cleverly insightful phrases about the strength of emotions, all merging into the wonders of nature of which we are all a part of.

Highly Recommended.

A must-read for any strong-minded Queen who trusts her intuition!

In her book “Reign: 16 secrets from 6 Queens to rule your world with clarity, connection & sovereignty,” Caroline Hurry brilliantly weaves together the tales of strong women the world over who’ve overcome adversity the likes of which most of us could never imagine, with her own experience waking up to deeper truths when the pandemic started. She presents lessons from the 5 elemental Queens—Fire, Water, Air, Earth, and Metal—culminating in the ultimate embodied frequency of the Hygge Queen. In each chapter, she offers wisdom from the different Queens, as well as tips and rituals to use the elemental energies for purifying and healing.

A must-read for any strong-minded Queen who questions the narrative and status quo and turns, instead, to nature and her own intuition for answers.

Perfect for all Heroines and some Heroes too

If you’re from the UK and you have watched the TV show Loose Women then this first starts out as a book version of that. 6 women who have experienced hardships like, grief, abuse and illness come together and talk about their lives and offer their opinions on all things including Covid, politics, nature and science.

It is so much more than that though their is a spiritual and elemental aspect to the book as well. Where each woman is linked to 1 of 6 elements; Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Metal and Hygge. Which as far as I could ascertain is love and respect. There are invaluable guides on how to be a queen of each of these elements. And although it’s a guide for empowered women, men can take notes to and live their lives according to one of the 6 elements and offers on how all women should be treated. Like Queens. This is a well written and enjoyable read. I look forward to reading more.

Reign is the kind of immersive book that engages and pulls you in from the first word, and doesn't let go until you regretfully turn the last page!
Together with a favorite bottle of chilled wine, I found it a delightful read as I discovered so many pearls of wisdom, authentic insights and thought-provoking truths.
Truly a gifted writer, Caroline Hurry weaves poignant nuances, humor and wonderfully descriptive comments in this, her first book.
Reign is witty, warm, introspective, and refreshingly honest. And after a challenging year, living in a pressured world and tumultuous times that sometimes felt like everyone was living in a lunatic asylum, this charmingly candid book is the best non-medical anti-depressant out there!
I can't wait to read more of her books.

At a time when life seems to be spiralling out of control, this beautiful book is a gentle anchor back to the natural world. An inspirational guide for Queenagers, I came away filled with interesting concepts to think about as Caroline shone her light into the magical world of mystical elements shaping our being. I loved the way Caroline's humour and witty turns of phrase mingled with the serious voice of experts, and there were so many resonating ah-ha moments where the inexplicable made sense. l put the book down feeling empowered, more accepting of myself. Its a read filled with personalities, wonderful writing, clever insights, fabulous theories, and there is so much depth and drama. I am now heading off to the bathe in a forest, plunge myself into the sea, stand on a mountain with the wind in my hair and focus on connecting with energy. REIGN is a of joyful celebration of women and life and the forces, a soothing balm to the mental stress of the last few years.

This book is part Shakespearean play, part beautiful lyrical poem that introduces you to fierce and powerful women, each of whom embarked on a hero's journey to triumph in her own life. The fact that the author could have known so many queens with so many fantastical stories tells you a bit about who she must be as a human being. But I think she would say that every woman is a queen because every woman has triumphed in her own life.

There are magical queens in our midst. I dare you to ever look at another woman the same way after reading this book.

Men and women should read this book. It illustrates resilience, strength and hope in its finest forms, aptly described by this superb writer. The more we learn from others' hardships, the more we realise our dramas are small and created for us to overcome.

‘Reign’ is no lighthearted romance novel to be skimmed through in an afternoon. It is a wake-up call for those who are unaware of their origin, reason for being here and inner magnificence. Ms Hurry’s well-established skills with the written word need to be savoured and re-read many times, each carefully crafted sentence absorbed and appreciated, and stored in your consciousness for retrieval when self-doubt creeps in. The Queens who feature reveal life stories of grit and survival, hope and inspiration. Thank you for this gift of self-reclamation and recognition!

Caroline Hurry's magic as a writer is her ability to weave writing genius into self-help literature that entirely avoids the cliches of self-help books of yore. In fact, she deftly side-steps dictates on how to live your life, but instead, masterfully employs the agents of nature to auto-suggest the way forward for any woman, whatever trouble she may find herself in. And always with huge empathy, the power of wisdom (garnered over the decades of her own, consciously lived life), and not least, a pen so practised it produces high art. You'll love Reign!

Holistic Healing from Ancient Remedies

This is a book about empowering your personal development using the same ques and techniques that famous leaders, kings and queens, legends, mythology, healers, holistic medicine and doctors alike. This is a book about using successful traits of ancient ancestors to find the fire within yourself to heal, grow, and self-improve. It's more spiritual than I expected.

Some of the examples were sun, wind, fire, water, air, earth and precious metals. It goes into depth about using the power of using sunlight for healing. Candlelight rituals and prayer are another way of healing. Using your inner fire or confidence/radiance to overcome difficult issues is encouraged from this book. It goes into the power of using water. Water has cleansing properties. Water quenches thirst, waves of healing and encouragement towards overflow of water or abundance; getting rid of negative thoughts and replacing them with positive thoughts. Another healing element is Air. Mother Nature and the earth have healing powers, sometimes the scent of the soil and the growth of trees, grasses, and other elements like a forest bath have biochemical healing properties. Precious metals have healing powers, love, strength, and change are a few. I found this book empowering and good for healing the soul.

When I first heard about Reign, I thought it would be another book about the many squillions of queens of England. Yawn. Then I heard Caroline Hurry was the author and I knew immediately it would be nothing like that. And I was right. This book is for us – the “real” queens, living right here in the sometimes hit-and-very-often-miss present. Ms Hurry is a wordsmith of note. Reign is funny. Refreshing. Insightful. It’s full of mystery and magic. And so much more. Every woman will recognise parts of herself in the six queens. To describe it as a self-help book would be putting it down. And yet it is. But very different from any other you might have read. It’s uplifting and full of wisdom. Hurry is a deeply empathic woman who is, indeed, a Hygge Queen. And, after travelling on this fascinating journey, you will never be the same. Yes, you’ll be the same you. But a much better version. Thank you, Caroline Hurry. You made me laugh and cry and helped direct me back to my road of healing. - Jo Tyler

This book reads like delicious poetry. Beautiful, flowing words of truth that ignite the senses and call forth our innate longing for connection, balance and healing.
If you are looking for a way to reclaim yourself. To strip away at the layers. To reveal the ancient drumbeat of your soul, then this book will be an excellent companion on your journey.
Real and raw and honest, the author breaks through the surface and digs deep. Revealing the profound power we all hold within us, if we are only bold enough to take off our shoes and dance with the earth.

A thought-provoking book, packed with stories of (women’s) survival, and overcoming disasters pitched against them, coupled with a self-help manual of sorts, to empower women. The writing is humorous in places, serious when it has to be, and poetic, and there are some interesting plays on words - at least in English. You do need to take some time in reading the book as there is quite a lot to absorb, and some parts would benefit from a second reading. Judging by the extensive bibliographies after each chapter suggests that it is also a well-researched book.

Inspirational Quotes

The book is specifically catered to women but I think anyone can get inspiration from the strong people in this book.
Whether dealing with hard times or grief this book can be used to lift yourself up. It basically has strong characters who have dealt with tragedy or waded through tough times but never faltered. You can read their quotes and their thought-process.

Reign is a collection of deeply inspiring stories that Caroline Hurry has sensitively captured and documented between these pages. At times I laughed and at others, I was wiping away heartfelt tears. I thoroughly enjoyed Reign and definitely recommend it to anyone needing a little reassurance that the human spirit is a strong and durable flame in this often dark world.

A fascinating read!

I've never read a book like this before and I found it fascinating, although, I do have to admit, I found some of it hard to understand.
The author has clearly done some in-depth research to be able to put this book together.
The book is beautifully written, deeply spiritual and inspiring. A good read!

REIGN
In a world awash with self help books author Carrie Hurry and several brave women have each penned a chapter on an extremely painful event in their lives and how they worked their way from trauma to ctriumph.
They describe nature , it’s huge healing power as opposed to fashionable quick dopamine highs from chemicals and social media .
A triumph!

While the people of the world seem to have diverged into multiple versions of crazy, to be swept away by the generous wisdom of Caroline’s many Queens offers solace and inspiration. However, this is no plodding, didactic, self-help cliché styled offering. You will be swept along on a wave of hilarious, astonishing, historical, mystical and very accessible writing. Caroline weaves through her Queens’ wisdom, her own and friends’ personal anecdotes and fascinating look backs in time. The deep dive into the spelling, construction and influence of words was fascinating. Each chapter offers empowerment through practical techniques, and one emerges from this read feeling replenished an invigorated and proud of our woman power. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to everyone, not just woman. My husband LOVED it to!

Caroline eloquently shares the traumatic and healing journeys of 6 extra ordinarily brave women. Their pain, passion, perseverance and unearthing of inner wounds was a compelling read. Through the book, Caroline too reveals her personal trauma trigged during the pandemic.

These seven special souls remind us that trauma does not define you. It’s a gift, it’s your ‘aha’ moment. You have that opportune moment to delve right in, discover your true worth, re-invent yourself with the help of mother-nature and a touch of magic. The author captured my attention with her writing style. Loved it.

This book certainly gives food for thought and if you are open minded and interested in seeing things from unconventional points of view this may be for you.
It is deeply spiritual and also covers stories told by real women who share their experiences of loss and grief, and the ways they overcame their troubles.
While it isn’t my usual type of read, I did enjoy learning about the different beliefs mentioned throughout and I enjoyed looking at things from a different perspective.
