Can she find love when she's healing from heartache?
After a painful end to a long engagement, all Meg wants out of life is a fresh start.
She can’t think of a better way to begin than by advancing her career in the hotel industry. When an opportunity comes along to accept a position at a five-star resort, she secures a beach house, packs her bags, and heads to the Bahamas.
But her oasis has been sold in an auction and the new owner and heartthrob, Parker Wilson, has no intention of holding onto a contract.
She'll have nowhere to stay, nowhere to heal, nowhere to grow if she gives in to his flippant attitude about her future.
When Meg digs her heels in and refuses to leave, will this drive them further into the arena of enemies? Or will they find common ground and potentially become lovers?
Tropical Encounter is a clean beach read with a splash of romance that’s sure to give you all the feels.
Pull up your favorite beach chair and watch as Meg and Parker’s story unfolds!
This was an eARC provided to me by the author in exchange for my honest opinion of Tropical Encounter.
Quaint story about a woman who starts life anew in the Bahamas after she calls off her engagement. I truly enjoyed it!
Meg feels it is high time she live for herself rather than the way the last three years of her life had been spent - engaged to a man who ended up being a clod. She leases a beautiful home on the beach after accepting a new job only to discover the lease a scam, her money gone and a man in residence with paperwork to prove he is now the owner and she a trespasser.
Parker has life issues of his own but this spitfire of a woman is making him question them all. Will they each be able to overcome their bruised and battered hearts, open them back up to love?
This was a lovely read, set in the beautiful locale of the Bahamas. As I read I could envision myself there once again, waves crashing on the beach amid balmy breezes. The characters were strong, vulnerable, well-developed individuals trying to find their way after heartbreak.
I loved how Meg’s friends and father, as well as Parker’s mother and sisters, understood their fragility but gently tried to guide them out of their cocoons. The locale was a perfect setting - who doesn’t enjoy a tropical background?! The tale of Meg and Parker is a reminder that love does provide second chances - perhaps not always a smooth path but you need to keep your heart open to new people and experiences to help mend from the bad.
Thoroughly enjoyed book one and can’t wait to see what book two has in store for Meg, Parker and their friends!
Thank you, Michele Gilchrist, for allowing me to read the beginning of your new series!
I was a volunteer ARC for this book in exchange for an honest opinion. This the the start of a new series for this author. The setting in the Bahamas was described beautifully that I felt like I was there!
This story is about Meg who is in sales and marketing. During the cake testing for her upcoming wedding, her fiancé confesses his infidelity. She decides to leave New York and work towards her life dreams in the Bahamas working for a resort. She enters the beach house she rented to find out it was a scam when the true owner arrives and shows her the paperwork.
Parker is into flipping houses and realizes that Meg is in his newly purchased house. Parker has a past in which he lost his wife to cancer and has closed himself off to love. He allows Meg to stay in the house until she can make arrangements.
This is a great cast of characters for a book and I am looking forward to the next book to see where Meg and Parker’s relationship is going!
I really enjoyed this story. Meg suffered a heart ache when her soon to be husband decided. He was calling off the wedding,he has met someone else, Meg found a new job, moved her life. More to come enjoy a great story.
I thought Tropical Encounter would be more interesting, but it ended up feeling pretty boring. The story was predictable, the characters weren’t very memorable, and the romance didn’t really pull me in.
