If you like monsters RH with a twist of sci-fi, this book is definitely for you!
The story tells about Azalea, a human who has been raised in order to be sold and eat by monsters. On her planet, humans are considering as slaves and/or dinner. But Azalea has weirdly accepted her fate for a long time ago and when the day of her 18th birthday arrives, she's resigned and calm. But it was counting without three unexpected monster princes who attend the auction and discover that she's their mate. Coming from another planet far more civilized, they want to take her with them far from this barbarian world but as Azalea is a very coveted human, things won't be easy for them...
The sci-fi twist was a surprise and is original as usual monster RH don't include this aspect. The world building is interesting and the story flows nicely. I like how dedicated and hot was the monsters and I would have liked to read more about what they can do with their forked tail😏
A nice quick read for the fan of monster RH with a twist of originalty!
This book reads like a comedy or something meant to be humorous and not taken seriously. Unfortunately, I don't think that's what the author was going for. Or maybe it was. But it's RH and unless it was meant to be a parody, I very much doubt it.
It's supposed to be sci-fi, and they're on an alien world of some sort, not Earth. There's no reason why everyone would be referring to other aliens as "monsters". Even the woman who grooms female human children to be auctioned off when they're 18 refers to her clients as "monsters", while she herself is alien (read: not human). If you're one of the monsters, you wouldn't call others monsters too, would you? Do we walk around speaking of "the humans"? No! Because on this planet, we're all humans!
The world-building is abysmal, which is to say, non-existent. Why would aliens pay a huge sum for an 18-year-old female, only to eat her? I mean, I know we humans pay a lot for caviar and foie gras, but not to the tune of tens of thousands! Seems like a waste of money, if you ask me. It makes no sense, and there's no explanation why the aliens prefer human women in particular. And why the age of 18? They don't taste the same at 16 or 17? See what I mean by this book sounding like comedy?
Also, Azalea's owner has her keep her hair long--she told Azalea that "men and monsters alike love long hair". Um. There's a reason we pluck all the feathers off chicken, ducks, and turkeys before cooking them, and also scald the hair off pork before cooking it! Like, seriously? Long hair on your food? Total pain in the arse.
I think the whole keeping-slaves-to-auction-them-off-for-food thing was a really bad racket and demonstrated poor business sense on the part of Azalea's owner. Because, for SEVENTEEN YEARS the slaver has to feed and house these girls and provide them with clothes to wear and things to do. Azalea talks about being given good food and kept safe; it's not like they're being held in small, dirty cells and fed stale bread. Are you telling me that the money the owner gets by selling them off the moment they hit eighteen is sufficient to cover all the expenses of SEVENTEEN YEARS?!?! I'm surprised the slaver hasn't gone bankrupt, considering she was keeping 36 children aged five and below, and 12 between the ages of 6 and 18. Not to mention the other slaves that helped with the running of the whole racket and tended to all the children.
So maaaaaaaaybe I could accept that Azalea was brainwashed into thinking that her highest purpose in life was to be a good meal for the alien who bought her. The author also tries to explain that drugs were used to make her placid and accepting of her life and her fate. And maaaaaaaaybe I could accept that these three aliens feel the mating call for her. But it doesn't seem to be a common thing on their planet for three males to feel the mating call for one female, since they're surprised when this happens. So WHY THEM??? I'm like... seriously, this plot has more holes than swiss cheese (which doesn't even have that many holes nowadays).
And why would the slaver try to take Azalea back when they start to suspect that the three guys aren't going to eat her? What business is it of the slaver's? As the guys said, they had bought Azalea fair and square, they've made payment, and it ought to be up to them what they want to do with her. So why was the slaver upset about that and even trying to give them three different women for free to replace Azalea? What was up with that? We never find out, and it again makes no sense, unless she wanted to auction Azalea off for the second time and earn even more from her. But she knew that the three guys were princes from their planet, and surely she didn't want to start an international war? Because that very well can happen when you cross a royal. She didn't seem to be at all respectful or fazed at them being royalty. It was extremely weird.
So... read this book if you want to laugh at an absurd plot or you feel like your eye muscles could do with more exercise--the eye-rolling will help. I wonder if the author had any beta readers, or if all her beta readers were too nice to say anything negative to her, because these issues were all easily fixed just by offering more information or explanation, or perhaps adjusting the plot a little. I'm a little shocked that she has such a long list of other publications, since these seem to be mistakes that a seasoned author wouldn't make... but sorry to say I will be steering clear of any other books by her, because even at $2.99 I expect something a little better. This book feels rushed and poorly thought out.
Alot of sex and more. WE have Azalea who was raised to be auctioned off to monsters. Why does she look forward to this? Who will buy her? Will they really eat her? Will they send her back to Mother for something worse?? Short read.

Your typical girl falls into the hands of scary monsters who treasure her and pleasure her, fighting off villains… and so on. It wasn’t as steamy as I expected with only two full scenes that were not very long. One of the villains made no sense, acting against her own best interests with no explanation for why she would do that, which was not great. Overall just a basic story that is fine but better can be found.
Azalea is a human on a planet where they have only one use. She has been raised with the knowledge that on her eighteenth birthday she will be sold to the highest bidder, a monster who will kill her. The monsters on this planet and others nearby, find human virgins to be a delicacy and bid for the privilege of eating them! She was raised with other human females until puberty, when she was isolated and only seen by Mother, her only mother like figure, as well as slaves who look after her every need. For the last few months, she has been treated with much better food and treatment, but still alone. She has been trained on what to expect and knows that if her buyer returns her, it will bring shame to Mother and a fate worse than death. On her birthday, she is taken to the marketplace and the bidding starts. It is between two monsters, both horrible and scary looking. Mother has given her a potion to take which will help relax her when the time comes, so she doesn’t embarrass herself or feel too much pain. At the last minute a trio of dark skinned monsters with horns and tails, make the biggest bid and she is sold. She finds out they are princes and triplets from a small unknown planet. They want to depart as soon as possible, but security delay them with news of a meteor shower, so they have to stay in a hotel until it clears. She was attracted to them as soon as she had caught sight of them in the marketplace, but they hadn’t meant to bid on a slave, until they also saw her. The princes want her for more than to just eat her, but can’t let anyone on this planet know of their plans or they will be in danger. Unfortunately, the original highest bidder is not happy that the trio outbid him and means to get Azalea from them, no matter the cost and it won’t be in money terms! Her princes have her in their bed unexpectedly, to eat her out but to her that means her death. An attack catches them unawares but they outnumber the attacker and realise they need to leave asap! More danger soon follows and her three princes will have to endure lots of heartache before they can escape with their prize. With an unexpected twist as well. A steamy alien monster RH romance, with a trio who are bucking the norm. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
Alien / Monster ✅ Sci-fi Romance ✅ RH- Reverse Harem ✅ Short HEA ✅ Smut /Spice ✅ Fated Mates
I’m not much of an alien or sci-fi reader. Not because I dislike it but just haven’t had the chance to as much as other tropes or genres. Monster appetites is a quick short and spice read. I know that the males are aliens from the description but they are referred to as monsters. I believe that is mostly because the sacrifices are human girls who are sold to be eaten. So they would see the aliens are monsters. Isn’t that how it goes..we label what’s different or unknown to us.
The story follows Azalea who is a beautiful human girl who was raised by “Mother.” She was raised knowing that her purpose was to stay pure until her 18th birthday. Where she would be auctioned off to the highest bidder, who will buy her to feast on her and not in a sexy sorta way but as a meal. Mother is not really a mother but a slave trader who sells off humans.
When Azalea is on her way to the auction stage she is drawn to 3 aliens with dark skin, tails and horns that look different from all the others around. As the bidding begins she is bidded on and won by the 3 horns males she saw in the beginning. She believes its her last day to live unless she is kept as a pleasure slave but what she doesn’t know is she is their fated mate and they want to take her back to their home planet. However some other monsters are not so happy to have lost the bid for her and things take a turn. Danger lurks nearby with attacks and attempts … they’ll have to fight their way off the planet.
Princes Drax, Hosner and Tamee protective, possessive and likable characters. Each with a different personality and I couldn’t help but like them all. I was surprised with the twist and turns at the end and was happy to see it end as it did. Especially with seeing how the main female character Azalea grows confident and decides she wants to live. An enjoyable quick read.

She was raised in a pampered cage, destined to be no more than expensive, sentient, meat.
They are triplet princes (why is it ALWAYS princes?) who’ve escaped their home world in search of adventure. They’re naive, almost TSTL but when the fated mate they share is taken they’ll risk their own lives to get her back.
The princes need a rewrite. Who doesn’t know if their space ship has a cargo hold but can stitch up a gut wound without any training?
Azalea was pretty cool but her character needs some development. For years she’s been fed drugs that keep her compliant so she doesn’t fight the brothers, but then once the drug begins to wear off (thankfully with no withdrawal side effects) she begins to plot to use her body to save her life. Only now they’ve taught her about pleasure so it’s not so it’s not so bad.
The world building was pretty good but the characters need a lot more development.

“My gaze fell on a monster of dark skin and flashing red eyes. I gasped as desire filled my belly. He was hideous, but in a way that made me want to reach out and touch him.”
This monster romance was a bit different from what I have read before and I really enjoyed that. It was on the shorter side but I still felt the story was well rounded. We get to know the characters and the world they live in. Azalea was brought up in a home for human girls that would be wolf to monsters when they turned 18. They were told that their purpose in life was to be a meal for one of the monsters who lived on their planet. When Azalea is bought by three monster brothers, things don’t play out as she was told they would. If you are into cultish vibes, very innocent heroine, triplets sharing their mate, and very protective and possessive monsters then check this book out.
I love paranormal reads, so I was more than excited to read this novella and it was okay for me. This novella did not hold back when it came to its steamy scenes and action, but something was missing in this story for me. Azalea has been trained early on to be ready for her auction day, and that day has come. She has instant chemistry with three princes: Drax, Hosner and Tamee. That chemistry leads to not only a world of trouble, but steamy sex scenes and a happy ever after. There were parts of the story that was unexpected. It's definitely the first novella I've read where women were expected to be devoured in a different way. For me this is a one-time read, but this novella was a good way to pass the time.
Azalea (h) is a young woman who's been raised to be sold in an auction essentially for livestock - the destiny she's been raised with is that she'll be eaten and consumed by an alien. That destiny changes when Drax (H), Hosner (H), and Tamee (H), three brother who are Princes of Agestbar, feel their mating call for Azalea and have a very different desire to consume her. These vegetarians (yay!) will have to thwart kidnapping attempts, attacks, and threats to protect their mate. There's a lot of action in this novella, both the adventurous kind, as well as hot and steamy RH passion. Yummy, delicious & so good for you!
I enjoyed this book. It was a fun read. Great world building. I liked the characters. Azalea was raised expecting to be auctioned off when she turns eighteen and devoured by monsters as a delicacy. She was sweet and innocent. While she was being auctioned off, she caught the eyes of three horned princes. Drax, Hosner, and Tamee were brothers and wanted her for a mate. Unable to deny themselves and leave her to be sold and eaten, they bid all the money they had and won her. A fun and very steamy paranormal romance. 5 stars.
Even though this is a quick read, less than 150 pages, you're not left unsatisfied. The story is fast-paced and full of sexy action. It was a unique view about a human "grown & raised" in a monster world, for the purpose of being a "plaything". But there's a happy ending for Azalea as she's saved from that fate and recused by her monster mates! If you like short HEA about monsters and their human mates, this is a story for you!!.

A very different take on being eaten here. Add three monster brothers and one human girl and get a very steamy story with a few surprises. Azalea is a very innocent girl raised by Mother for one purpose but that does not last long once she meets her monsters. Very hot, very steamy and a few funny scenes it did make me laugh and groan. And enjoyed watching Azalea grow up fast and fall for her monsters. And a surprise twist at the end made me laugh and cheer Azalea on.
With so many dark, plot driven monster stories out on virtual shelves it is nice to find an easy, light read. At only 148 pages it is a perfect story to read between doing dishes and laundry. The characters are easy to like, or hate depending if it is the hero or villain, and the world easy to visualize without having tons of info dumping and only three minor typos that I could remember.
This book was quite enjoyable and entertaining. Azalea knew from an early age that she would be sold to the highest bidder simply because she was human. When she was bought by three brothers, she thought her life was over but she was determined to do whatever needed to be done to stay alive. It was a good read.

I loved these romantic monsters…Drax, Hosner and Tamee. What a horrible future Azalea had before meeting them. The book is a bit dark and gritty but Shaw finds a way to make it the perfect read. This reverse harem has the best combination of romance and suspense while executing a gripping plot. I really would like to know how Mother was acquiring the humans. I hope this will be a series. Download and enjoy!❤️❤️❤️.
Humans are put on the auction block to be bought by monsters who will consume them, Azalea has now turned 18 and it’s her turn on the auction block where she gets sold to three monsters Drax, Hosner and Tamee who realise that Azalea is their mate. I really enjoyed this reverse harem I loved the guys who would do anything to protect their mate, this is a short but great story and I recommend this book.
For a book, that is a novella length this book’s plot is well developed and the world that Amelia created was captivating. I especially liked how the fl discovered her own personality out with the drugs with which she had subjected to prior to meeting the male leads. I felt as if were the book longer in length, there was potential to see her develop further. But this book is definitely worth the time spent reading.
With a placid acceptance, Amelia had accepted a horrible end - fortunately, fate had other plans in the shape of a trio of unlikely heroes. Just enough darkness to set the mood, but not enough to put me off, I really enjoyed the premise of this story as well as how Amelia grew so much braver throughout the story. A unique spin on alien Sci-Fi romance.
Azalea is put up for auction on her eighteenth birthday to the highest bidder. What will happen to her after the identical triplet monsters claim her? Will she be consumed as she was raised for? Loved the fun, steamy, easy to read story!

When Azalea is auctioned off to three monsters she does not know what to think. She has been raised and taught that she will be a meal for a monster yet that is not what the monsters Who bought her seem to have in mind. With the loser wanting to eat her and her three monsters trying to save her the story moves rapidly to its finish.
Rating: 4.75 I really enjoyed this book. Super fast-paced, steamy and had some action too. I would have loved it more if there was a little more detail in the story, because the plot seems to move really fast. Overall, it was a great lunch break read!
Unconventional read. Azalae is a human, in a world where she has been raised to be eaten on her 18th birthday. I loved the triplet theme, and the interaction between the 4 main characters. Good light hearted read. Steamy read for adults.
Azalea is a human slave raised to be sold for food to monsters. On her auction day she is bought by three princes. They claim her as their mate and want to devour her in a whole other way. A unique read with hot scenes. I volunteered to read this book via Booksprout.
A wonderful story of acceptance from others that balances with the bad I'm others. It was fun to read and I always love the HEA at the end. Amelia is a good writer.
I really enjoyed this book ive read the so many Sci fi books and this was very unique and it's kinda my worst nightmare in parts lol if aliens took over and humans became like cattle lol but I really enjoyed this book it stayed fast pace and never dull
Sweet, short story with some spice. Innocent Azalea us a likeable and believable character based on the story given. She is raised purely to be a monsters meal. Despite her sheltered upbringing, she loves to learns. Her men feel an instant connection and would do anything for her
