People talk about the marriage of true minds, but Alexander doesn’t think this is what they meant.
After a cruel experiment binds him to the soul of Rota, an old god, Alexander has one find Rota’s body. Having a godly boyfriend is great, but it would be better to have one that he could actually touch. Unfortunately, even Alexander’s ability to command Rota’s divine power hasn’t helped.
A rare book of poetry may finally provide the answer. The expertise they need translating it brings them to Oleander Logue, a young man with plenty of problems that seem at odds with his cheerful nature. Ollie is happy to help, but he’s in trouble with a gangster who demands that Alexander and Rota solve a series of murders first.
Desperate, Alexander and Rota accept the case… but it’s not that simple. The gangster’s threats to Ollie’s safety disturb them both, but is that because they’re both growing more attracted to Ollie… or because he’s a potential host for Rota? If they can’t solve these murders, they may never find out.
Ok so, here we are again with me finishing book 6 of the tentacle sex and mystery series.
Not gonna lie, this has the best title so far.
Spoilers ahead
So in here we have Alexander the silenced and Rota the god, who were cruelly bound together. I'm not going to beat around the bush, but I disliked Alexander for the first 25% of the story. But he started to grow on me and now I love him.
Anyways, these two go kidnap Ollie (the nephew of Chase and who saved the life of Ted from book two) and figure out that since Ollie has starlight, Rota can take over his body and these two can finally touch. But something funny happened, Alexander and Rota started falling for Ollie. I know Ollie was portrayed as being dumb but he was kindest one of them all, which was good, as Alexander was mean. It was not his fault, he was tortured into being this way. Rota was bodyless, but these two loved each other. Then to see them fall for Ollie was great.
By now we know how it goes, sexytimes interspersed with some mystery. In this one someone is killing the others and Stoker from the previous books forces them to figure out who is doing it.
We do find out that there were even older gods that the current gods did not know of.
What surprised me was the fact that there was very little cameos from the other characters. They showed up for a min at the end.
This was my favorite so far and had the best mgm (male/god/male) sex scenes. This is how it should always go when you have two wingdingers, 4 tentacles, and a tentacock. Those were the best dp scenes ever.
Oof Alex was a handful. Ollie didn't deserve his attitude, when all he wanted to do was help. Ollie x Rota was adorable and when Alex calmed down, the trio was sweet together. I can't tell if I like Stoker or not. One minute he's protective and the next an ass. I am curious about him though. Rota's true identity feels like it'll pop up further down the line. I think it would be fun if he was the big bad everyone is so scared of. Looking forward to the next one.

I just love this series and its hilariousness. Every character are crazy and so loveable, I love the banter and lovely moments between them, and I wanted Alexander and Rota's story soooo bad! Oh and plus Ollie, yummy. Loved reading about these three and loved the tiny mystery too. It's really an enjoyable and loveable series with the tentacled gods. It is fascinating and hot at the same time.
Although I enjoyed it, it wasn't perfect for me this time. Something was missing, more excitement, or more deepness? Idk. BUT it's not the end for them, so I'm really looking forward to the next. I love everyone in this universe and love their uniqueness too. The author did a really great job with this series, it's fun and hot, easy and sometimes deep. And the threesome in this one was super freaking amazing.
What!
How many times can I say I love this series? Well, at least once more, it would appear. I don’t know how it gets better and better, but it really does. Once again, we delve into the lush world that KL Hiers has created for us and it makes me never want to leave.
We have met Alexander and Rota in the previous books. In Our Shellfish Desires, we finally get their story. Rota is a god without his body and Alexander is on a quest to find said body. That leads the couple to Ollie’s doorstep. Ollie, the adorable little cinnamon roll, has the gift of starsight, which can be used to read a book that will lead them to Rota’s godly body. None of them expect the connection that forms, but there they are. Alexander is nearly impossible at times and he does his very best to try and push Ollie away. Ollie seems to take it all in stride and is dead set on making the best of the situation he now finds himself in. And Rota, well, Rota is like this big godly daddy that wants the best for all three of them. He wrangles Alexander while drawing Ollie closer and they are this great little triad before Alexander and Ollie even realize it. Even when Alexander was being the absolute WORST, I was still hoping that these three would make it. Hiers has a way of taking an unlikable character and making you want to put them in bubble wrap so nothing bad can ever happen to them again. That’s ultimately how I felt about Alexander, even though he deserved none of it. Somehow, even with such different personalities and quirks, they balance one another out wonderfully.
Against the backdrop of another godly mystery, we really do get a clear picture of how well these three work together. We see some old characters and even get a little heartbreak in the end. Still, we are left with so much hope for the future of Alexander, Rota and Ollie. I can’t wait to see how the rest of the series plays out. I bet it will be one wild ride.
I will never tire of this series. It's just so much fun. All the banter and brooding and tentacles make for a hilarious series that can still bring out the feels. I loved being able to glimpse behind the facade so to speak in Alexanders head. He had been through an unspeakable horror and deserved all the happiness in the world. Hes had Rota in his life for so long and their love was so strong and powerful. Then came Ollie. He may not be the brightest crayon in the box, but he makes up for it with his kind nature and sweet gestures. I adored him.
The dynamic between the 3 of them took some time to figure out. Alexander had always only had Rota. He didn't trust easily and he was wary of his growing feelings reguarding Ollie. Ollie was so patient with him and it helped that Rota was such a calming presence and upfront with his feelings for Ollie as well. It was nice to see Ollie being cared about after everything with his ex, Ted.
The murder mystery portion of the story has made some headway, but is certainly not over yet. This one ends on a HFN ending with a glimpse into the next book which appears to once again feature Sloane and Loch. You wont hear me complaining about more of them ever. To top it off the sneak peak ends on its very own mini cliffhanger which has me already dying for what's next.
I kinda hated Alexander through most of this book. Towards the end he had a lot of personal growth blah blah, but he was still an annoying a**hole through most of it and I couldn't find him likable in the slightest. Ollie was adorable and sweet and I friggin' loved the crap out of him, and he has so many adorable an endearing qualities. Rota was sappy and sweet... No problems there I just don't particularly like alexander. I get that he had so much horror in his past and I understand completely why his personality is the way it is and his growth was really well written and directed.... I just don't like him too much.
The plot was AMAZING. Fast paced, action packed, and it really moved the cultist arc ahead. This story is unfolding kinda slowly but its perfect.
Well balanced with interesting characters and A super fascinating plot? Who could ask for more?? Oh wait. Everybody. More!! Can't wait for the next installment! This whole series is a wild ride and I never want to get off!
Our Shellfish Desires continues an overarching plot and therefore, needs to be read as part of the series.
I've been looking forward to this one. Alexander and Rota captured my attention when we first met them. I felt so sorry for the pair, sharing the same body and unable to be with each other properly. Their love is very sweet when Alexander, generally, isn't.
The addition of Ollie is fantastic. Yes this is MMM. I loved his character and quirks and he was the perfect foil to Alexander's grumpy ways.
There's a decent amount of steam with tentacles being out to good use. The story is really building and pieces of the jigsaw being put into place.
I have to say. I was looking forward to this story. Ever since Alexander and Rota were introduced I desperately wanted them to get their HEA. They don't really get a full HEA in this one. But at least a HFN.
Alexander and Rota are still trying to find Rota's body. So far they've only shared one brief kiss physically, and that was only because Sloane (a starsight gifted human) was able to allow Rota to possess him for the briefest of moments. Alexander finds a book that might hold the key, but its in godstongue so only someone with very special starsight can read it). Enter Ollie, Detective Chase's nephew. We found out in previous books his starsight comes from sacrificing a part of his heart to resurrect his at the time boyfriend Ted after Ted drowned. Alexander and Rota track Ollie down to convince him to translate the book, but in doing so leave him open for attack. The poor kid, who is a himbo if ever one was written, is snatched up by Stoker, a nonhuman, powerful club owner, to whom Ollie owes a huge debt for the drugs he used to take to dull his mind.
The rest of the story is the trio striking a deal with Stoker to solve a series of nonhuman murders to remove Ollie's debt. And while they are doing this the duo becomes a trio as both Rota and Alexander fall in love with Ollie. What starts out as Ollie's good dead by allowing Rota to possess him to pleasure Alexander turns into all three of them getting freaky together. It was hot in a way only tentacle sex between three characters can be.
We also see a bit a back story about Alexander which is nice. And Ollie seems to mature a bit through the book although he maintains his loveable himbo ways. A solid 4. And one of my favorites of the series. I hope this trio gets their forever HEA before the series is over.
Wow! K.L. Hiers continues to blow my mind everytime I step back into this universe. They way Hiers' manages to weave such intricacies together with such outstanding and loveable characters is truly a work of art. Never have I read such a unique series. And now onto Our Shellfish Desires, oofta! I've never been a huge fan of MMM, but Heirs' has twisted and used the storyline to make it not quite MMM, but still is? I hope that makes sense. The steamy parts? OMG, I dare say hotter than Loch and Sloan. The characters? Brilliant and so uniquely different. Alexander is this total selfish, grumpy, badass that is there to get stuff done, but deep down he just wants to be happy, he just needs help getting there. Rota is solid, well as solid as a soul can be. He is compassionate, willful, humorous, and level headed, the perfect one to balance Alexander and Ollie. And that brings us to Ollie, our sweet ray of sunshine. Complete opposite of Alexander in personality, he's kind, caring, happy, a bit goofy, but oh so loveable! The three of them deserve all the happiness they find with each other. As for the rest of the cast? Stoke continues to be a smug but ultimately interesting bastard. And Jefahfah (Jeff)? Well he just needs to die already.
I really like Alexander and Ollie and Rota’s dynamic, and while the book did end with a HFN, the lack of a resolution to what Rota and Alexander desperately wanted left me feeling a bit empty at the end of the book. I’m not sure why the author is dragging out their story and not giving them a more satisfying ending. Yes I know this isn’t the complete end of their story, but all their work and all their hope ultimately amounted to nothing even though they solved the murder mystery. Something about that just didn’t sit right with me. All the other characters have mostly gotten their HEA in their books (though again there’s a lot more to everyone’s stories), but this trio got some happiness but no real resolution. Alexander has arguably suffered more than any other character in this series and yet gets a bittersweet end to his story.
Overall this was still a satisfying read with an interesting and unexpected relationship dynamic, but as a reader it felt like my hope was crushed alongside Alexander’s with the way the book ended.
It’s worth noting here that this book is part of a series, and reading previous books will provide useful context on characters and world building– as a bonus, they’re also delightful, and well worth a read. This is Rota, Alexander and Ollie’s story, a romance between an old god in need of a body, an epic grump, and a total sweetheart– a combination I didn’t quite know I needed until I saw these three bring it to life. They’re each incredibly interesting in their own ways, and Alexander’s weird gift for making himself both deeply unlikable and yet also strangely charming is actually– strangely charming. There’s so much chemistry, physical and emotional, to get caught up in here, as well as a plot with plenty of twists and nuances– it all makes for a really enjoyable read. 4.5 stars.
*I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Plot: Sunshine/sunshine/grump; a little murder mystery; Alexander and Rota are on the search for Rota’s body, because yeah it’s totally hard to be in love with your guy when you have to share a body. Things get even more complicated in the form of Oleander Logue (Ollie), who’s their only lead to the location of Rota’s body, and an MM with one body becomes an MMM with two bodies plus tentacles! Feels: I loved Ollie’s absolute adorkableness! So much awww factor here Drama: Nothing to detract from the story Heat: 4/5 - godly tentacles make the mmm smexy times even better Characters: Alexander was much more of a grump than I realized from the previous books, but Rota and Ollie’s sunshine were the perfect foil Pacing: Good Length: Wouldn’t have minded it being longer :) Ending: HFN - gah! That ending! When is the next one coming out?
Was super excited for Alexander and Rota's book, and was even more excited that it included Ollie! They seek out Ollie to help translate a book they think can help find Rota's body, and Alexander is instantly smitten....not that he would admit it to anyone. Ollie is in a smidge of trouble with Stoker and they get wrangled to help solve it in order to get back on track with their original goal.
Alexander and Rota have been through alot, and Alexander does grow throughout this book (within their group I would say), but he was a total brat alot at the beginning. The spice is *chefs kiss*.
As with the others, some questions are answered (that I forgot I wanted to know the answers to) while more crop up in its place. This is definitely classified as a HFN, but not a satisfying one. I hope they get another book like Sloane and Loch. They deserve it.
Remember sweet but messed-up Ollie? How about Alexander and Rota? Well, while I know they say three's company, I'd have to disagree after reading their story. I've found Ollie such an engaging character since the first time he appeared. As for Alexander and Rota - that is one love story I've certainly never read before and Hiers more than did them justice. When these three find themselves in one of the odder relationships we've encountered (and we are talking tentacles here) it's one of the most chaotic and entertaining in this world. I LOVED it! I'm so excited to see what's in store for the three of them, not to mention our other established couples. Can you say more magical, demi-g0d, tentacled babies anyone? Finally, I want to know just exactly who and what a certain gangster REALLY is......
I was not expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did. Alexander is ridiculously prickly and Ollie is the sweetest beam of sunlight and Rota is basically along to shepard them on the crazy ride the embark on. Upsides: the dynamic between the main characters. Their interactions with one another are hilarious, particularly when Alexander is being a emo lil gremlin and unused to Ollie being able to hear absolutely everything he thinks and feels. Downsides: since this is another offshoot of the main story featuring Sloane and Loch, this book has almost zero resolution. It's better than the terrible book about Ted, Ollie's ex, but felt more like a full length novella that falls between the books in the main series rather than a stand-alone story. Overall, I look forward to reading more about Alexander, Ollie, and Rota on their quest to find Rota's body. The dialogue is witty and Ollie's obliviousness and complete lack of judgment is charming.
So we finally get to see Alexander and Rota again, only this time actually get to know them. They go and hunt down my favorite not so sober or bright character Ollie, Chase’s nephew. They need him to translate something not realizing he has starsight and will be able to see and hear Rota. But that’s not all he can help with! You will have to read to find out more. Anyway after breaking Ollie’s wards they end up having to work for Stoker, because he kidnaps Ollie and boy is that an adventure but beware this book ends in a happily for now with everything up in the air. I am now dying for the next book and it’s tentacle god goodness!! This series is definitely my all time favorite and I give it all the stars!
This was so much fun to read. I caught myself plenty of times LOL with Alexander and Ollie's banter. This series is pure entertainment. The dynamic between these guys and Rota was HOT and sweet. Tentacle sex is a must read!!!...LOL. So much fun reading how Ollie's personality FINALLY wore Alexander down and he couldn't help but care and accept him. I thought the entire mystery of who was the killer was not entirely predictable...kept me guessing a couple of times but when you do find out who the killer was it all came together. I guess this is a HFN but really a HEA (they bonded for real for real) because the case continues and we will get more shenanigans in the future with these delightful guys.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Ok, I have to admit when I first read about Rota, Alexander and Ollie in previous books... I wasn't really itching for thier books. Don't get me wrong, I want to read all books in this series and have loved them (and yes I loved this one) but well... Alexander was kind of a jerk. I had a hard time seeing what Rota was going to see in him and every time someone was in a scene with Ollie it seemed someone was face palming. I should have known better. K L manages to make them just perfect. They were hot and sweet and there for each other. Ollie got his wonderful HEA with people who understand him. Alexander was tender even when he was grouchy and Rota tied it all together.
Our Shellfish Desires is the sixth book in the series and focuses on the story of Alexander, Ollie and Rota. The book contains gods, magic, mystery, and lots of tentacles. The overall story started in book 1, but each book focuses on a different couple while moving the story forward. The book and series are well written, have really great characters, lots of heat and steam, and all the tentacles you could want in a story. Overall a very good read. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Slightly different too, because it's MMM but with one main character not having a physical body. Very interesting! I never read MM+ but I just knew that this author would create relationship dynamics that I would enjoy, and I wasn't disappointed.
Ollie is the sweetest guy ever. Alexander never stood a chance of turning him down. Rota is essential in bringing and keeping them together.
As usual, there is a good variety of action, relationship development and steam. And yes, tentacles. Gotta love the tentacles.
There are mysteries to solve, bad guys to beat, a world to save, and a lot of healing and loving to do.
Since the introduction of Alexander and Rota I've been very excited for their book. The was a great surprise for me and I really liked Ollie :-). It was a little diappointing that in the end . But maybe that will happen later on in the book series? I would like it if there was a second book about them but I think the last books of the series are written about the main characters and one other pair.
Cannot wait for the next one in this series! I loved Rota, Alexander and Ollie, they are the perfect triad of sunshine^2 and grumpy. The heat and romance are always delightful in any K.L. Hiers book, but I also love the way we get a bit of mystery as well. I would have been happy with the mysterious poetry book that needed translating but we also get the addition of the gangster and the murder to be solved.
I don't like polyamory romance very much, but this entry in the SLM had almost everything that the other books had that I liked. There were some consent issues and the author seemed to realize this and addressed consent, but in a roundabout way that obfuscated the actual issue. Then again, these books are intensely goofy and not really to be taken seriously, but it did keep me from really enjoying the story.

We get to see more characters come into this series. We see the barriers come down with silenced and god he bound to. why not throw twist in to the story with solving why bodies keep showing up. magic is all around and will find that one wants more and has to bring end of the world. cant wait for the next book now
K.L. Hiers’ books are always so amazing - the characters are incredible, the world building is so vivid and the writing is fantastic - this book definitely lived up to all of it! I was looking forward to this book so much - Ollie and his “fah-fahs” had me literally laughing out loud and I was waiting anxiously for Alexander and Rota’s HEA - having them all together was absolutely perfect!
Mi primer monster erotica y lo sobrevivi. con una trama adictiva este libro es pero AAAAA. Una relacion poliamorosa con un dios, un humano y un ser demoniaco. Pero saben algo me gusto. Las escenas spicy bien logradas y uffff.
