What a debut of a book! This had it all and more - mafia romance, betrayal, secrets, plot twists... and one of my favorite FMCs...
Malia, oh Malia - I need some of your bad bish energy. She's a shining queen amidst a sea of power hungry mafia men. Cuthroat and ruthless in her own right, she's her father's biggest secret - nobody knows the mafia don has a daughter, much less a daughter referred to as "The Enforcer." Although she likely has what it takes to rise to the throne, she's not in the running due to her being female. Tasked with a secret mission to infiltrate an FBI task force, she comes face to face with what could be her greatest weakness....
Liam Brenner, Detective during the day - fight club frequenter at night. His sole purpose in life is revenge for his parent's death until he meets "Mila" who's only interested in his friend. Once he realizes who Mila/Malia really is, will their chemistry be enough to tame his vengeful needs or will it lead to their ultimate demise?
This book was definitely a page turner for me, and I wasn't ready for it to end. The underlying secrets and twists are everything - I literally cannot wait for the "fallout" when everything is revealed. The chemistry and tension between our MCs was jumping off the pages - although they outwardly may have regretted when they finally opened themselves up and got what they wanted from each other, I was jumping for joy... Finally!
I love this series, and I can't wait to see where Charli takes it. Highly recommend this if you enjoy dark mafia romances filled with secrets and mysteries.

The mafia family responsible for orphaning him. In my attempt to prove myself as a rightful heiress to The Olin Empire, to save my family. Liam Brenner storms in and challenges everything I've ever known. Then he claims me. And he fights just as hard as I do for the things he wants.
This is a dark book with a female lead that is a little off her rocker. I was so excited about that too because most of the time time it is the mafia men and the girls just stay in the background and do what there told or have to marry a man they don't want to be within ten feet of. Not to say that there aren't some real alpha males in this book that will most likely have you sweating. This book will hold triggers for some readers so you need to heed the warnings in the beginning of the book.
Malia is super independent, really strong and most definitely has very psychotic tendencies. All of her life she has been training to change the status quo in the mafia world. To prove that she is the rightful mafia heir in her family. Now she has been given a mission to infiltrate Liam Brenner who is a FBI agent determined to take down Malia's family because he blames them for the death of his family. It is a game of who will best who first because she is out to prover herself and he is out to claim her for his very own.
I really loved this book and couldn't put it down. I loved like I said that we had a totally unhinged female lead character. She and Liam have some super steamy moments. There are twists and turns and it will keep you on your toes and I have a feeling we have not even really waded into the deep end with these characters and this story yet. I can not wait to read the second book!! I also when looking this book up to find to write my review noticed that this is the first book by this author!! Unless I am totally wrong and I have to say this didn't feel like I was reading the authors first book ever!! Holy cow. You know how things get better as you go and do it more. If that's the case then the world better look out because her writing style is going to just blow so many people away and have them hooked just like me.

I freaking loved reading this book, it has got so much to offer. If you are into MAFIA books then this one should definitely be on your top reading list. I’m totally floored with the plot here, there is so much happening in every line of this story. I appreciate the way the writer wrote each line with precision and emotions conveying out of them. I didn’t want to miss anything not even a single word.
Malia is the MC here and damm she’s hot with a brainer too. She’s one character you don’t want to mess with, power reeks from her presence and I adore her qualities so much. A mystery is left to get solved in the next books and that piques my interest too much and I want them now to know what happens. The intensity between her and Liam is all-time high from the first point of contact and is just the tip of the iceberg. I’m thrilled to see the way the story ended, which just leaves me wanting more.

What a way to jump into Malia & Liam's world! I am HOOKED!!
Charli did an incredible job with this book; it was a definite page-turner. The pacing was perfect, the character and world development were on point, and boy oh boy are the main characters a treat!!
Malia... what a QUEEN! She is one of the most morally grey and toxic badass characters I have read, and I am definitely here for it. She exudes confidence and is an absolute weapon. Then there is Liam who is the perfect balance of cocky, badass, and determined for Malia. The chemistry and banter between these two is everything, and I can't wait to see how their relationship evolves now some secrets have been let out.
If you love a good plot twist, mafia drama, hidden identity, betrayal, violence, and plenty of chemistry then look no further, you will not be disappointed with this one.
I literally cannot wait for the next instalment of this series! Hopefully, we won't be waiting long. Amazing job Charli!

I won this book from a giveaway on one of my reading groups on Facebook and I'm so glad I did! This was such a great read! I would have never stumbled on these books if it weren't by fate. I typically don't read Mafia romance, but now I'm officially sucked in. Charli Owen has popped my Mafia cherry.
First of all, Malia, the main female character, is everything we all strive to be as women. A strong independent leader who doesn't care what other people think. She does her. She demands respect from all the men in her life - as she should. She deserves it. Though close with her father, her upbringing was brutal with a mother like hers. If you can even call her a mother. She'd also been badly hurt in a past relationship which caused her to put up all sorts of barriers and vowed to never let another man ever get under her skin again. At least until Liam... A man she was sent out by her father to protect. For what reason, she wasn't sure. Despite her frustrations of her father's secrets, she caught feelings for Liam that she isn't even willing to admit to herself. The worst part is that she knows she can't keep her identity a secret from him for long. Once the veil is lifted, she knows it's all over.
Liam has believed his whole life that his parents were murdered by The Omen (Nathaniel, Malia's father). And he has vowed to find out everything he possibly can in order to seek out his revenge. During the story, we watch as he tries to piece together his broken past, but gets caught up falling for a girl that goes by the name Mila... Only to be in for a major surprise.
Neither Malia or Liam have all the answers they need. Both only making assumptions off of what they do actually know, or think they know. With Malia's father keeping secrets and refusing to relinquish the truth, he's set up his own daughter unintentionally for another heartbreak and led Liam down a wider path of hatred, anger and betrayal.
The spice in this book was nice, but I definitely appreciated that there was more plot than spice. I also enjoyed the suspense behind the whole story. Some things were obvious, but other things I never saw coming!
The book does end on a cliffhanger, though! So, have the second book, Goddess of Mayhem, ready to go! I'm so glad I purchased it before finishing Deviant Queen. I can't wait to dive in and hopefully find some answers!

*slow clap* this book was absolutely incredible, in so many ways. I loved Malia and Liam’s story, and am anxiously awaiting more of it!!! I loved all the twists and turns the author took me on as I was reading. The author certainly kept me on my toes, that’s for sure! Fair warning, though: this book does deal with a list of sensitive subjects that could potentially trigger someone, so I would highly suggest reading the content warning before starting this novel.
Malia. She’s the definition of bold, smart, and beautiful - and she knows it. Malia definitely isn’t afraid to take charge and let others know who’s boss. She has some psycho tendencies, but that’s a huge part of the reason why I liked her. Liam. He has let sad parts of his past dictate his future. Despite this, I believe that he’s a good man, with good intentions. Malia and Liam’s chemistry could light a room on fire, and I can’t wait to see their relationship developed more in the next book. I’d definitely recommend!

I discovered Charli one day while scrolling through Instagram only to discover this book. I dont regret it either.
A Deviant Queen wasn't just another mafia romance no this book was much more than that. This book had betrayal, secrets, revenge, connections, and one crazy plot twist. The book keeps you intrigued and has you wondering what comes next. Ms. Owen provided us with an fmc, Malia, that was beautiful, crazy, and had a backbone I've never read before. This girl was my hero. She also tossed in an mmc, Liam, that made my mouth water with his dirty talk. This man was an alpha and screams sex on a stick. When they both come together talk about explosives and it burned through the pages. Their chemistry got more intense as the book went on. Now let's discuss that cliffhanger because I am still trying to wrap my mind around it. I am already craving the second book.

If you love dark mafia books then this book is for you! I LOVED this book so much! Liam is what you need in a mafia dark romance book. Plot twists, secrets and so much more that will leave you wanting more. It’s a must read!

I loved this book. There were so many twists and turns with Malia and Liam's relationship. They constantly are being pulled into each other's gravity and I can't wait to see what new secrets from their past will be revealed. The ending was kind of heartbreaking, but I can't wait to see what happens between them in the next book.

This book had it all!
Spice, a badass FMC, a complex MMC and a storyline that is exciting and I can't wait to see it unfold. The chemistry between Malia and Liam is off the charts and I love how they dance around each other.
Lion was also such an interesting character!

In all the books that I have read, I have never read of a strong female protagonist, Malia is one bad as woman.
Malia is strong, fierce, loyal and independent. She’s a daddy’s girl, but also her fathers secret weapon as his enforcer in the mafia. She is determined to take her father’s place as head of the mafia, but customs dictate that role will got to her brother. Malia wears a suit of armour that is well guarded, she has had her heart broken before, as she will not put her self through that pain again. Throw her relationship with her mother into the mix and she will be the one who will make her life more miserable than it already is. Only she may not have a choice, when she is tasked with a mission, but it proves difficult when she crosses boundaries that she cannot come back from, compromising the mission she steps back. Malia starts to spiral, feeling conflicted, for these feelings inside of her cold dead heart, a heart that begins to beat again won’t simply go away.
Donovan is loyal to his family, however he is being groomed to take over from his father when the time comes. He doesn’t want this lifestyle for himself, but he has no choice, as the heir apparent. He has a typical relationship with his sister, however it irks him when she sees the way he struggles to find the strength and the capabilities he will need to run a mafia empire, and she reminds him of that fact every time. He fights for the respect he deserves, fighting his sister at every turn to make sure he understands that he has a duty to protect his family but also has a role to play just like his sister.
Nathaniel is a father that loves his children, despite their misgivings and the pain he hides himself, the sacrifices that he has made for his family for the sake of strengthening and solidifying business ties through an arrangement. There is no love loss between him and his wife, as he does everything in his power to protect his baby girl from her mothers machinations, but Mahlia knows how to hold her own. He commands respect and loyalty, and no one dares challenge him or questions his authority. Running an empire comes with expectations and burdens, laden with secrets. But when tightly woven webs start to unravel, and dark secrets come to light, whose world catches fire leaving the ash to burn around them?
Liam is determined to make those who were responsible for taking his parents away from him, pay. Following in his father’s footsteps he becomes a federal agent. Giving him access to tools and resources to help aid in his endeavours. But what he didn’t count on was the green eyed beauty who unexpectedly crossed paths with him. For the darkness he carries inside of him speaks to her, and hers to him. But when it comes to her, his selfish nature takes over, begging to claim her. Only does he trade one obsession for another, ready to sell his soul, she will be his, but at what cost for the need for vengeance, and in doing so, will he let that shade of light on his soul free him, or consume him to the point of no return.
This story is told from multiple POV, we get to see these characters through there strengths and weaknesses, what we see and feel shapes these characters, giving readers insight to who they are flaws and all, that they are in fact humans who all feel but handle what happened to them differently.
Their story will take you on a wild ride, having you turn page after page, this book had me from the beginning to the end. Reading this story, it enables the readers to really connect with the characters. The author knows how to write, and I will be coming back for more.
Within these pages you will find a dark mafia romance, possessive dominant alpha male, a strong bad as alpha female who gives as good as she gets, touch her and die vibes, family and friend dynamics, madness, mayhem, revenge, vengeance, violence, defiance, manipulation, adrenaline seeking suspense, jealousy, twists, truths and betrayal.
The tension between them was undeniable, the friction burning hot between them, but those s*x scenes were blazing hot, downright dirty and physical, it had all the pleasure and passion one would expect when Liam shows Malia that she belongs to him, that he will always get what he wants, giving Malia the pain and pleasure, she craves, there possessiveness and obsessive need for control and dominance, there foreplay it was off the charts and had all of the feels.
Highly recommend both author and book! Onto book two!

This story is told from multiple POV, we get to see these characters through there strengths and weaknesses, what we see and feel shapes these characters, giving readers insight to who they are flaws and all, that they are in fact humans who all feel but handle what happened to them differently.
Their story will take you on a wild ride, having you turn page after page, this book had me from the beginning to the end. Reading this story, it enables the readers to really connect with the characters. The author knows how to write, and I will be coming back for more.
Within these pages you will find a dark mafia romance, possessive dominant alpha male, a strong bad as alpha female who gives as good as she gets, touch her and die vibes, family and friend dynamics, madness, mayhem, revenge, vengeance, violence, defiance, manipulation, adrenaline seeking suspense, jealousy, twists, truths and betrayal.
The tension between them was undeniable, the friction burning hot between them, but those s*x scenes were blazing hot, downright dirty and physical, it had all the pleasure and passion one would expect when Liam shows Malia that she belongs to him, that he will always get what he wants, giving Malia the pain and pleasure, she craves, there possessiveness and obsessive need for control and dominance, there foreplay it was off the charts and had all of the feels.
Highly recommend both author and book! Onto book two!

With that ending where do I begin?
For one, superb job. It was a dark mafia romance. An actual mafia romance with some unaliving and some done creatively by the FMC. I don't think there is anything more satisfying to read than a strong, unapologetic, badass female character. And add one that gets a little stabby when disrespected. Aghhh. You got me. Well in this case we get Malia Olin.
Malia is a firstborn mafia princess with more than enough skill and pertness to lead. However, leadership is bestowed on her little brother because 🙄 she's a lady. (Btw: loved the scenes between her and her brother).
Anyway, Malia is her father's secret weapon and is tasked with infiltrating the FBI. Then we meet FBI agent Liam Brenner, whose life mission is to take down the Olins, who killed his parents.
Liam's possessiveness and Malia's unhinged backbone make for an enthralling read.
Charli Owen did a great job with character development and world-building. I can't wait for the rest of this story. So many unanswered questions.

Oh boy….was that cliffhanger a doozy. Cliffhangers may be a writers best friend but a readers very worst enemy 😂! I can’t wait for Goddess of Mayhem. I hope I don’t have a long wait! Deviant Queen was a dark, dirty, and oh so hot read. Charli Owen, author, did a fantastic job with Deviant Queen. She will definitely be on my authors to watch list. Malia and Liam have so much drama, angst, secrets, revelations, emotions, pasts, that you get hooked and will not want to put it down. I know I did. It is very far from boring that’s for sure. Normally, when I find an author I want to read more books from I will do that while waiting for the next book in the series but since there are none available I will have to wait for the next book that Charli will be releasing. I highly recommend Deviant Queen. Happy reading 📖!

Ok, I don't know where to start with this book, it was everything. Malia Olin is your next book girlfriend. If you loved Skeletons of Society this is for you. A morally grey FBI agent, Liam Brenner crosses paths with untraditional mafia princess, Malia Olin in a nightclub and sparks fly immediately. But Malia is on a mission under an alias and Liam is not her intended target. Secrets and lies swirl between them as they are drawn closer and closer until Liam learns who Malia really is.

I have never read Charli before. I believe this is the book baby from this author. Correct me if I'm wrong.

This was another one of those once you start it’s hard to not just finish in one sitting kind of books. Malia is as toxic and crazy as she is a total badass, in the best ways. Y’all know I love a strong FMC & she really is THAT bitch. Liam is an alpha with a dirty mouth and a taste for revenge. Together they’re simply 💥explosive💥
There’s a lot of violence, a good amount of spice, some serious tension, and betrayal. All in all a great debut and dark mafia romance. Can’t wait to continue this story!

This debut mafia novel was amazing! I read this book in one sitting! Malia is more than a mafia princess, she’s a bada$$ and she proves it over and over again. She’s quick to inflict pain, sexy, and free and confident in her sexuality. She’s sent out to help fix a problem for her family, but there’s so much going on under the surface. The half truths and constant questions surface about what is really going on have you flipping the page to try and find out. Liam, a FBI agent, is sexy as sin and the sexual chemistry is off that charts! I will warn you, this is book one in a series and that cliffhanger is brutal! I can not wait for the next book! If you love dark mafia romance, please check this out.

Slowish burn but when it gets hot, it gets very hot. Lots of secrets and lies and deceit. Liam starts off as a bit of a player, but quickly grows in you as he falls for Malia. Something and someone has definitely broken her in the past, but it doesn't seem that it's just being disrespected as a woman in the mafia. And her mother, eek! What a nasty, horrible ..... that Amazon won't let me write the word. And that ending was brutal.

This book was awesome! I loved Malia's attitude and blood thirsty, take no sh!t, psychotic toxic tendencies. I love books with a strong female lead. Liam was a hot alpha that was perfect for Malia. Charli is a brilliant writer whose work I have been following for a while now. Notorious Queen is everything, it has darkness, humor, sass, spice, and lots of steam! Charli builds the steamy relationship between the main characters well, and I am on the edge of my seat for Goddess of Mayhem this October.

I love Malia. Absolutely love her! She's so unapologetic and outgoing that I love her. I love her relationship with Lion and Liam. She's an entire mood, and I enjoyed seeing her evolve. It's so rare to find books where a female is as sex positive as she is and has trouble grasping at feelings that I love it. I even love the fact that she's not all that maternal. I loved her one interaction with that child and how she dealt with it. I love that she takes no shit from no one but overall I also love the spice. Because the book is spicy!

This book is amazing. I have read it in less then a week and it didnt dissepoint. The plot, the characters are soo well written. I have never read a book with a badass female mc and people who say the dont like Malia are missing something I loved her. The conection Liam and Malia share is so thick and amazing I could feel it when reading. Last but not least the 🌶️ = ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It left me hanging waiting for the second book. Can't wait to read it!
