Original Sin

Rate this book
There is something evil in old New Orleans.

For years runaway slaves have disappeared into the murky bayous never to be seen again. Most people assumed they succeeded at their bid for freedom, but that was not the case. Nestled in a prosperous plantation on the Mississippi River, Madam Marie Tulane harbors a terrible secret.

Tierney King is a young Irish immigrant working as an indentured servant with the rest of her small, close-knit family. When her home becomes too dangerous for her to remain, she is thrust into a precarious situation, but things look up when the mysterious Madam takes her in with the promise of a new life.

A prominent doctor studying psychiatric disturbances in women, Elijah Stone is at the top of his game. There is nothing that can dislodge him from the peak of society where he has his pick of men and women for his pleasure, until he is noticed by the Madam and taken for her own. Now, together with Tierney and a group of misfit vampires, he will have to fight to regain his freedom.

Can they escape the Madam's lethal hold, or will they spend their days as blood slaves of her court until the end of time?

Caught between the fangs of the Madam...

Tierney is not your average vampire, as we saw in Sins of the Blood. Neither is my boy Elijah. They banter like either an old married couple or brother and sister, depending on the topic up for debate. However, reading their origin story gives you a more in depth look at their fierce connection.

The Madam is not someone I would want to cross on the dark streets of Old New Orleans...or anywhere else for that matter. However, I have to hand it to Candace Adams for making this story one that you can really...sink your teeth into!

This book was amazing! After reading sins of blood there are so many things that make you question what happened to them to make them who they are today.

This book answered all of the questions and gave more insight into both the happy and the terror the characters went through. This book was full of emotional turns and left you unable to put it down!

I highly recommend this and suggest you go read this and sins of blood if you haven’t already!

Tierney and Elijah have this amazing chemistry not as lovers but as brother and sister as we learned in the first book. This book talks about the origin of their lives and they came to be in the first one. It is packed full with drama and has you feeling their pain and anguish as they endure so many obstacles. The book does have triggers that might affect some but I will say they were tastefully written. I will say I love how Tierney grew in the first book compared to how she was in this one. Elijah is full of jokes and being so full of himself but in a fun way. The story has some very dark moments that has you drawn in and doesn’t let go. This was extremely well written and developed. It is definitely a must read and doesn’t disappoint.

What a tragically insightful origin story for Tierney and Elijah. This book was well written and easily envelops you and pulls you right into their devastatingly emotional world. I really loved getting the back stories of these characters and seeing how that lends to their characters development going into the first book. I am very much looking forward to the next book in this series and I can't wait to see how everything wraps up!

Riveting! I recommend this book!

I read this book in one day, it was so hard to put down.

Tierney King and Elijah Stone are in the hands of a sadistic Madam. The future does not look good for them. Being with Madam there is no escape. Betraying Madam can only bring you death. Can they figure out an escape before it’s too late?

Come join them on their journey and experience their survival!
I highly recommend this book to all readers!

This book tells how Tierney and Elijah came to be, and it is no lighthearted tale. Tierney, an indentured servant, runs away from one monster, straight into the claws of an even bigger one, while prominent doctor Elijah Stone is kidnapped from his prestigious career and life in order to become the plaything to evil. The sadistic things they endure at The Madam's hands, will test their very souls as they struggle to escape from the nightmarish prison they have found themselves in. This book has several major triggers, so make sure you read the TW page before proceeding
