I believe that a series should be a series of related stories, not one story chopped into multiple pieces to sell more books.
Love scenes should be tastefully erotic and occur where they fit—after a buildup of attraction and sexual tension, not gratuitous random sex thrown in.
I strongly believe that a book should be well-edited and proofread prior to being released. Anything less is still a draft copy and should not be offered as a finished product. As a reader I want to get lost in a story, not be constantly slapped in the face with misspelled words, grammatical errors and plot contradictions.
Ann's Writing Style
My goal is to provide enough detail to create a vivid image in the reader's mind without boring them. I want the reader to FEEL as they read—to laugh out loud, to hold their breath in anticipation, to cry—not be bogged down with irrelevant details
While I recognize the writing skill necessary to fill five pages with intricate details of an empty white room, I personally don't care to read that. I want the details of the room that are pertinent in that moment.
Is the character trapped? Then it might be a stark white room with no window to escape through. To me, it makes no difference if the walls are eggshell white or oyster white, or that the paint is textured in repeated scallop patterns. You get the idea. :)

For those of you who want to know about me—I must admit, that's a lot harder to write than creating a character. :)
I'm a private person. My husband and I live on a farm in the western US, where I enjoy anything and everything outdoors. I'm an avid horsewoman and gardener. I love raising goats and growing giant pumpkins.
When I was younger I traveled extensively throughout North America, Europe, Africa and the South Pacific. While in college I worked at a variety of jobs, from packing caviar at a salmon cannery in South Naknek, Alaska, to driving a forklift in Key Largo, Florida, before ultimately becoming a medical professional.
Through all of that, I always felt the draw to write fiction. After placing second with two novels in two separate genres (historical romance and contemporary mainstream) in a national contest, I began to focus more seriously on writing.
No matter the genre, I try to draw upon my travel experiences and diverse cultural exposures to create vivid, unique characters set in rich, deep, believable settings.

I’ve been looking forward to this book ever since finishing Nena. Gunnar and Fiona make an intriguing couple, yet very different from Jarl and Nena. I love the fact that the story has an entirely different dynamic and that it’s set in Ireland. Overall, the writing is delightful and I liked the story, for the most part…
What I had a problem with was the middle section of the book, after Gunnar’s decision to leave Fiona for 7 months! Gunnar was a lovable brute, but him leaving Fiona after wooing her for a week, having sex multiple times -didn’t sit well with me (or for him admittedly). As readers, we know the two are fated but also that in the time apart many obstacles would be thrown in their way. I wanted their story to progress and that time apart felt like a unnecessarily long pause in their relationship, making their reunion welcome but somewhat unsatisfying. In that day and age- she as a young, virgin Irish noblewoman and he as a Viking raider- if anyone found out about their relationship she would be ruined socially with very little options. She could have been pregnant, then what would she have done? It was just a really dangerous risk they both took and even though he pledged his love to her etc., she was left in a very vulnerable position that could have and almost did end very poorly for her.
Hoping the next book focusing on Rask will be a another 5 star read like Nena was!

I love these books!!
Nena surprised me so much so I was PUMPED to read Fiona. Both books are fantastic and have similarities but are also vastly different. Nena was a bit more “Viking-y” and action packed. Fiona had more plotting and scheming. Her and Gunner come together much more quickly, but had to overcome a lot of obstacles to be together.
I loved that it was set in Ireland. It gave it a totally different flavor.
Just such a great historical romance and a great 2nd book in a series!

Another good outing by this author although I didnt enjoy this main couple as much as the first. In both books the female leads are strong and determined- although Fiona leans even more on her wits than Nena, which is not to say Nena wasnt clever either.
Some people had a hard time with the first book because of how Jarl treated Nena in the beginning, but honestly that never bothered me. I sorta wished something like that happened here early on because I just didn't click with Gunnar and Fiona until much later in the book. Not that it had to be a "cheating situation", just something to bring a bit of spark to light the fire between them other than Fiona not trusting him because he's a Norseman and a man who uses slaves.
Meeting Fiona while on a viking slave raid in Ireland he's instantly drawn to the beautiful girl he suddenly comes upon in the mist. Shell-shocked by her beauty, he's determined to find the Irish lass who gave him the slip and stole his quarry.
At the same time this happens, his most prized possession, the viking ship The Treasure Huntress, is attacked and almost sunk. She survived but it will take time to make her ready for sail again so he uses this time to find the wild girl from the mist and woo her.
Which he does and there's something else he didnt know- she's a noblewoman. Gunnar's a tricky one, and I like that he never once doubted his success in, well, anything! He does in fact change her mind about him- through a road trip across Ireland.
But he must leave again to make good on a promise to the previous captain of The Treasure Huntress and for me his separation from Fiona is when I finally fully engaged in the story. Their time apart and eventual coming to together again felt way more romantic then the beginning and because of that I can round this up to a 3 and half star read for me.
Im looking forward to the next book in the series and Im really hoping Eamon, the son of whore who taught Gunnar how to be a noble, eventually gets his own book too!

Ready to hit the open sea on the Treasure Huntress? Gunner is the Captain now and he set out to buy slaves. Fiona disguised as a highway robbers stops him and his group and releases all the slaves.
The adventure begins with the pirate hunts the young woman, finds her, blackmails her, and takes her on an adventure of a lifetime.
The banner between the two was heartwarming and humorous as they learned about each other. Their action among the furs were so hot. A well written story that I enjoyed until the end.

I'm still sucked in to this series.
The second book of the Viking treasure huntress series and it does not disappoint.
The writing draws you in and makes you feel like you're right there.
Each story has different main characters and the trials that they have to go through to be together.
But the ship is a constant and knows what needs to be done and does not disappoint.
The odds of each of these main characters getting a happily ever after is ridiculous. But they do it anyway.
I hope I have the patience to wait for the third book, (Lila).

This was different from the previous book but still a great read. It dragged a little at the first third but gradually sped up.
I did like how Fiona was an interesting independent female in the world she was in. A rare character in those days. Gunnar had a long way to go from his previous character in the first book and it was a little too sudden imo. But it worked.
It still grates on me how subdued and demoralized women were in that period in England, Ireland and Scotland. (Well everywhere if I’m being honest. Still are now in areas).
I look forward to the next one. Not sure if Rask is salvageable but I would like to see Eamon get his chance too.

Gunner is a way better man than Jarl. Jarl had the audacity to act surprised at gunner not wanting to bed a women after hearing he was in love and was giving up everything for her? His dumbass you should understand he did the same thing? But I guess other men in love besides him can bed other women? He’s so annoying honestly. I understand these are different times but he himself has experienced the true love for one woman…..
I liked this book but that separation was not what I would had preferred. It was too long. It pissed me off but like I said Gunner is a way better man than Jarl.

I loved the first book so much, that I was actually a bit worried to read the second in case it was a let-down, but (I exhale a HUGE sigh of relief) it's even better!!!! More twists and turns, dangers, adventures, and set in Ireland?! LOVED it! Gunnar and Fiona are completely different than Jarl and Nena, different personalities, different dynamic, but it so worked for me because they are PERFECT for each other! Now I really can't wait for the next!

My favourite book in the Treasure Huntress series so far. The relationship between the 2 main characters was so much fun to read, as both were strong willed and not afraid to confront each other, which meant the sexual tension between them was there from the start and I loved seeing it develop. I also loved the cameo of characters from the first book. I do think it was maybe longer than it needed to be, but overall I really enjoyed Fiona and Gunnar's story.

If you're a fan of The Last Kingdom, Vikings or Game of Thrones, but wished they had a little more emphasis on romance, you'll love the Viking Treasure Huntress Series! (Tip: be sure to read them in order.) :)

The absolute perfect slow burn, will they/won't they. Our protagonists meet while one is taking slaves, the other freeing them. In hating, tolerating, understanding, and finally caring for one another, they are freed from their own bonds. 10/10

Another Fantastic Voyage
Such an enjoyable tale! Exciting and twisting it kept me reading! What a magical ride that was visually enchanting and allowed you to see the world as the characters did. Loved it!

An easy 5 stars
I really loved Fiona and Gunnar. Man oh man was their love story a good one. And the plot was chefs 😘. I can't wait to continue reading these. I didn't think I'd like this series at all but am happy to report I haven't been able to put them down!

Yup! The books have it ALL! Travel from Norway to the Caspian Sea, then all the way to Ireland. But if course the best part is the Vikings the Treasure Hundreds chooses.

Characters were wonderful, but their separation was too long, and the ending came together too neatly. I just did not enjoy it like Nena.

Nena comes back as Fiona? Nah, just kidding. Fiona is her own person. This is a must read! It took long in production, but Fiona is worth the wait. Another thrilling tale of Viking suspense, danger, adventure, and of course romance. Keep up the great work, Ann Boelter. I can't wait for the next in the series.
