I loved Aracron, the first book in the Shadow Fractures trilogy, so I'm delighted to report that the second, Sanda, is even better.

Following the traumatic events at the mountain, displaced Kelsey finds herself in an even greater fight to return home, now trailing those she never expected to see. With the stakes rising - Aracron not the only world at risk - our intrepid found family set out on a quest to save their land, whilst evading their enemies.

This is about all you can ask from a Chosen One fantasy. Wonderful characters, adventure, battle, heartbreak, plot twists and a healthy dollop of romance.

Pageturning fabulosity. Moving straight on to the finale, Essence.

I'm glad that I started this series in the same month that the 3rd one comes out cause waiting to read the ending would literally kill me! There's a few things I suspected that were confirmed in this book and I'm glad I was right about somethings. I also very upset about one specific thing and I'm not gonna spoil it but I will say OMG NO!

This is the second book in the Shadow Fractures trilogy by Bethany Arliss . The story picks up where Aracron left off. Kelsey shockingly finds her Australian friends in the same world as her. Now she must race across the desert before the Vaa come in order to protect Aracron and go home to Australia with her old friends. Will she make this dangerous journey in time?

This was an exciting second book. The world of Aracron with its Ingeniums is pretty fun and different than other books. I like that Kelsey is such a stron character and I hope that she continues to be so. Can't wait for the third book!

This book is great! It had adventure with a good pace in an original world! They set out on a journey and there’s drama and peril along the route from various angles so it kept me on edge! The characters relationships developed well and continued on from book one nicely. I am looking forward to the next instalment!
This is for anyone that likes fantasy with found family, YA, other worlds, magical powers and romance!

**Please check the trigger warnings prior to reading this series**

Kelsey Denner is still in Aracron. But she’s not alone. After a surprising find during the disastrous journey to the Marthon Mountains, Kelsey’s head is reeling. Unfortunately, she’s going to have to go a littler farther before she can return to her father.

After such a wonderful first book, I was concerned that the sequel wouldn’t live up to my expectations. I shouldn’t have been worried; “Sanda” was every bit as enjoyable as “Aracron.”

We get to see Kelsey continue to grow as a person, working hard to move past her trauma and defensiveness to really bond with her traveling companions. Speaking of said companions, we also get to see more of their personalities emerge, and it’s so nice to be able to learn about them alongside our FMC.

This book felt a lot more fast paced than the first, but it didn’t have that rushed feeling that sometimes accompanies a fast-paced read. The people grew, the magic and world-building grew, and the plot thickened nicely. And the romance! We mustn’t forget the romance. While by no means the main point of the story, it’s a lovely side piece that the reader gets to chew on a bit without distracting from the overall issues.

Overall, this was another delightful fantasy read, and I can’t wait for the final book!

This was a really good book and I almost gave it 5 stars, but I believe the first one was better. While I loved the story and enjoyed the plot twist, I felt it was quite rushed. I don’t want to give anything away, but I wish the story of her origins had been fleshed out more. Perhaps it was meant to be that way, and in the next book we learn more. I really didn’t like Kamen’s reaction though. Anyway, still a great read, and I look forward to the next!

Solid. Remember, you are reading through the eyes of a 17/18 year old girl. Keeping that in mind, I give this book a solid 4 stars. I appreciated the faster pace of this book. Aracron was great in developing the problem and plot; book 2 really lays it on the reader at the end but the entire story is building up to the ending of book 2.

The characters are well thought out and well written. The horses are characters too; they are central to the story and the culture in this series. The horses are taken into account in every scene and Arliss really integrates the creatures into the story. I’m looking forward to seeing how Essence rounds it all out.

Bethany Arliss has really created an entire world, Aracron, along with a culture, and has even created sub-worlds like Vaacom. Clever fantasy with a sci-fi twist for those interested in YA literature.

Sanda continues on from Aracron in an action packed journey right from the start. The adventure steps up to the next level in this sequel—the stakes are higher and there are terrifying new dangers for Kelsey and her companions every step of the way.

I love the way the characters form this ragtag crew to get through the quest together. The relationships and character dynamics are awesome and so well written.

I found this book very hard to put down and especially loved the plot twists near the end. I did not see them coming, and I love it when that happens! I want to read more and can’t wait for the next book to come out.

Okay, I need book three now! This one had my emotions on a rollercoaster ride, and at one point just gutted me.

Kelsey and the group travelled to try to place the stone on an altar, a fair distance away. This was to prevent the vaa from invading further, but also so she could finally go home.

Kelsey discovered she had abilities like other Aracronians, and worked on understanding and using them, though it didn't always go to plan.

This story had a lot of action and intrigue, but also emotional moments that I felt were just as important.

I read this in a day, completely wrapped up in the story, wondering how it would all play out after book 1. Can't wait for book 3.

Far out man. Far out. I was so looking forward to reading this book and it did not disappoint. My only regret was reading it on the plane… I cried so hard! I mean, I thought I knew what was coming… I did not. It’s left me shattered, amazed, surprised and questioning so many things. It’s been two days since I finished reading and I’m still collecting my thoughts… I need book 3!!!
Bethany Arliss has created something special with this series and I am fully invested in it! The characters, the story, the worlds… a brilliant read!
