Just Juniper: The First Adventure
The JUST JUNIPER Adventures are exciting books that will enthrall children and motivate them to read.
The adventures of Juniper, Sophia and friends will keep children eagerly turning the pages of the books and begging to read the next book of the series.
In the first book of the series, “JUST JUNIPER -The First Adventure” seven- year old Sophia wakes up to the sound of incessant barking. Juniper her two-year old Golden Retriever is looking out the window. “Juniper never barks. Why is she barking now?”
In the first two books of the series young readers will get to know seven-year-old Sophia who is quiet and sensitive, yet intrepid and brave. They will fall in love with Juniper who is too smart for words. They will also meet Gabriela, Aiden and Ben. Their exciting adventures will make them want to read more and more JUST JUNIPER books.
The first two books of the series take place in the mountains of western North Carolina where Sophia and Juniper spend their summer vacations with Dad.
Books 3 and 4, “The Secret at the Lighthouse” and “Dolphins to the Rescue” find Sophia and Juniper back in their home in Miami, Florida, where new and exciting adventures await them.

Hi! I am a writer of children's books and an elementary school teacher. I am currently writing a Chapter Books Series for children ages seven to ten years old.
My "JUST JUNIPER" book series is about a seven year old girl, Sophia and her dog Juniper, a two year old Golden Retriever. In the series Sophia and Juniper get in difficult and scary situations. The adventures of Sophia, Juniper and their friends will mesmerize young readers and keep them eagerly turning the pages of the books.
I have been teaching seven and eight year olds for the past 30 years. Seeing a child get totally absorbed reading a chapter book for the first time is one of the most rewarding experiences a teacher can have. I hope my "JUST JUNIPER Series" motivates young children to become life long readers.
I am currently writing more books for the JUST JUNIPER SERIES. In addition I am working on two picture books and also writing a non-fiction series about Endangered Animals.
All my books are written for young readers as they were my motivation and inspiration. I should also mention that they were my first critics and editors!
I read the first draft of all my books to my second graders and asked for their opinion and critique. It was their enthusiasm, honesty and demmand "Please write one more JUST JUNIPER Adventure !" for my stories that motivated me to continue writing books for the series.
What else should you know about me? I love traveling around the world and have traveled extensively. I am married to a renaissance man who is an elementary school teacher, an opera singer and chorus director of the Miami Lyric Opera. We have one adult son who fills us with pride and joy.
I live in Miami and love the ocean!

This book will give children the opportunity to see the world through the eyes of a Golden. Juniper has such exciting adventures - kids will love them. Juniper is a loving dog. Irene's writing is very descriptive and Sylvia, the illustrator, depicts Juniper and her adventures very creatively.

Great Children's Book!
I am well beyond the intended age group for this book, but I love Goldens and I love a good, wholesome story. This book is well-written and entertaining. It has enough drama to keep young readers engaged from beginning to end.

This author has captured the essence of love between a child and her beloved golden retriever, Juniper.
This is not a fairytale but a true inspiration to children to understand the bond of loving a pet and growing up with unconditional love.
A must read for all age groups including adults.

This series is wonderful!! I read it to my class and they couldn’t get enough of it. They kept wanting to hear more about Juniper’s adventures! Children will live these stories!

We absolutely love the adventures of Juniper, my son really enjoys listening to the stories. We’ve made it part of our nightly routine. Great for kids, would recommend to anyone with young children.

My son gives this 5 stars but my daughter said 2 as she didn’t like the narrator’s voice. But it made for a nice car ride.

This is the first book in a series about a girl named Sophie and her dog, Juniper, and the adventures they encounter together. This is a great story for young readers to enjoy!
