Danielle Keil grew up and spent the majority of her life in the Chicagoland area. A recent transplant, she is enjoying the Mississippi life, especially the pool in her backyard. Danielle is happily married for over 10 years, and has two young children, a daughter and a son, who are exact replicas of her and her husband.
Danielle's love language is gifts, her Ennegram is a 9w1, and she loves everything purple. The way to her heart is through coffee, chocolate and tacos (extra guac).
These books always hit the spot. I love the references to all my favorite movies. Jade is a bad ass and stands up for herself she’s my favorite main character so far. Another amazing book💛 always the highlight of my months when I can read them
2.5 stars I think this one was the worst one in the series, mainly because the main character was really annoying In this book it's Jade's turn to receive the secret admirer challenge, she is a "feminist" who can't keep her mouth shut and always protesting for one thing or another, and she views this challenge as a something repulsive for some reason, but the more she gets into the challenge the more she realizes sometimes its fun to let a boy do something to impress her I'm noticing a pattern with this series, all the girls that get their letter usually are the girls who doesn't like it !! where are the girls who are actually invested and want to get their letter? I want one of them to be at least interested in this very sweet tradition .. let's see who's next
This is a very cute novella which is apart of Danielle Keil's Love Notes novellas! This one follows Jade who is the girl chosen for the secret admirer game.
Jade is a strong, independent girl who at first was against the whole secret admirer game because she thought it was outdated and hurtful to girls. However, her opinion changes when she finds a teal envelope taped on her locker.
I loved the clues in this novella! The clues still had me guessing until Jade and a few of her close friends figure it out. Haha! I loved it! The way the clues were done in this novella I think are awesome! I can't wait to see who is next in the series!
I think Jade is my fav letter recipient (well so far), she’s completely herself and isn’t even remotely interested in the social norms or being part of what she thinks is overrated.
Her secret admirer is PERFECT for her, he knew exactly how to make her feel important, seen, and understood.
This secret admirer is the one to beat! Movie clues?! Ugh I’m a sucker for a good movie quote/reference.
I LOVE these YA novellas! Jade is my spirit animal, through and through. She's got a good head on her shoulders, spicy attitude and the best friends a girl could ask for. This secret admirer thing isn't her deal, but she can't back down from the challenge. I just can't get enough of these stories! Figuring out who the admirer is might be the fun part, but following these characters on the adventure is the best! I'm so glad there's going to be more of these.
Another fun cute read from the Love Note Series. I love Jade's clues and references to movies from her secret Admirer. I think Jade's story had to be one of favorites but honestly so far the whole Love Notes series has drawn me in. I am guessing along with the characters as to who the secret Admirer is. The books can be read as a stand alone. However, once you read one you will be hooked and want to read them all. I eagerly await the next book in this series.
The Third installment of the Love Notes Novellas by Danielle Keil is just perfect, perfect, perfect, perfect! I can’t even begin to tell you how much I’m loving this series. It’s a great pick me up and has honestly helped me get out of a reading slump I seem to fall into mid-late month the last few months.
Follow Jade as she accidentally accepts the secret admirer’s teal envelope on the first of May and begrudgingly collects and solves the mystery of her admirer.
Captivating from the first page. Jade was completely against the secret admirer and then she saw a teal envelope on her locker. She really struggled with whether or not to accept. Her secret admirer created a fun way for Jade to find clues about him. I can't talk about it because I don’t want to spoil it for you. Do yourself a favor and read this book and the series!
Another super cute fun read in the love notes series!! I just absolutely love this series and the fun clues that go along with it. We get to see familiar faces and new characters as we go along. It can easily be read in one sitting and is just adorable! This one was extra fun with all the movie references. Must read!!
This book was a lot of fun! I loved the fiery and passionate Jade, who so clearly has a rebel heart and a mind of her own to match. I enjoyed all the references to movies; The Parent Trap remake is one of my favs! This series is so cute, and I love how you can read each book in a day. It's so much fun getting to know this group of friends at Ryder. Jade's story was a delight.
Yes, the guessing game is still loads of fun! Jade did not ever think she would participate in the Love Notes game. But she was hooked from the second note. I did not have a front runner in this book. I was kind of surprised at who the Secret Admirer was. From a Fan... Pam James.
I don't think I can review this book without giving it away! The idea he comes up with is clever and revealing. Jade narrows her guesses to three. Who do you think he is? The author has portrayed some of the anxiety of high school in a unique and entertaining story.
I love this book and I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that is not a trilogy and then there's more coming because I want to see what other small characters or what other characters, she has play the game and with who
Jade was a tough shell to crack. She was never a girl i thought would be invited to play . I did love how her secret admirer gave the clues to the game. I felt bad for jade as her mother wasn't the sweetest towards her & her so called best friend tended to not be a very good friend to her.
This was such a quick and cute romcom! Everyone at school knows about the secret admirers game. Each month a boy picks a girl and sends them clues. It's up to the girl to decipher the clues by the end of the month to find her admirer. Jade rose is not a fan of the game. She thought it was all misogynistic guys chasing after a girl, but when she's chosen and reads the note she starts to think maybe it's not so bad. In this book the notes were movie themed which was super fun! There were quite a few movies I loved and when she and her friends got to the last clue it had me tearing up a bit. This book will make you laugh, it will make you happy, make you cry and just give you all the feels. If you haven't picked up this series yet you should! They're super easy to read in one sitting and they know how to make you feel good.
'Algo en mí sentía cuando estabas cerca. Siempre podía encontrarte'.

Dear Jade de Danielle Keil serie Love Notes libro 3
Argumento:
Love notes series: To enjoy this series you just have to accept the premise that there is a secret society which organizes this secret admirer game and that most of the teenage boys want to participate and that most of the girls wish to receive a letter. Especially for the boys I find that hard to believe, but like I said - just accept it and move on. You also have to accept that there are a lot of boys with a crush on a girl and they just wait for their turn to be the secret admirer instead of making a move on their own. Considering they can only participate in their junior and senior year and the game sometimes pauses for summer break, there are at maximum 24 months and A LOT more boys who want the spot. So that’s another really unrealistic part, but the books just don’t make sense if you don’t accept this. I was quite annoyed with this - in some books more than others - but I tried to forget that it’s kind of a stupid concept to pine silently away for your crush, to wait up to two years for your turn and never do something on your own. If you can look past that, the series is kinda cute. Some books are very enjoyable, others I really really didn’t like. But for all of them - I repeat myself - you HAVE to accept the premise.
*** Wow, did I hate this book… I only pushed through because it was so short and I liked the first two. And I hoped that Jade would grow and change. She did not. She was the absolute worst. She is supposed to be a strong feminist, but she is just rude and has a bad attitude. Her best friend is equally horrible, a judgemental hypocrite.
It was quite early obvious who would be the secret admirer and I didn’t really care for him either. We don’t learn much about him except that he likes Jade and since I hate her he must be an idiot…
The clues in the form of watching movies were kind of lame and didn’t really match up with the totally over the top scene where he reveals himself in my opinion. It was more creepy and stalkerish than swoony and made me hate this stupid book even more. I read a few other negative reviews for this one and than better ones for the following books so I didn’t quit - but I was very close!
I’m really enjoying the Love Notes series so far. The books are such a good length and they’ve all been great reads so far. Dear Jade was probably my second favourite so far.
I’m wondering how much longer the clues will be unique ideas. There are only so many ways you can anonymously give clues about your identity. I’m interested to see just how different the next three books will be.
I love the use of films for the clues in Dear Jade. A few of them were some of my favourite films so that was super fun.
This brings me to my next point. I will not take the parent trap slander “Truth be told, anyone else would probably have the same response to a movie that was older than we are” how rude it’s a classic
Here’s a question for my non-UK readers: are dress codes at school actually so ridiculous? It feels like so many American high school books talk about it, but is it real?
This is a spoiler relating to the end of the book, I’m not revealing who the secret admirer is, but I will be talking about something they did. I know the photos and videos that the secret admirer took of Jade for the ‘film’ weren’t meant to be weird or stalker-ish, but they really gave me that vibe. I’d be so freaked out if I found out someone had been taking pictures of me without my knowledge, especially if I didn’t know them.
Saying that though, they were a pretty cute couple in the end. I hope they pop up again in another book. So far we have had the previous couples be mentioned, even if it is in passing, so there is a possibility. I’d love to see them all go on a group date or something, that would be cute.
Another in the Love Notes series, where a chosen girl starts getting notes and gifts from her secret admirer with clues to his identity. She has a month to figure it out. Jade has a crummy home life and a unique fashion sense, with a history of protests and standing up against unfair school rules and bullies. An outsider, She’s an unlikely candidate for the love series game. But the guy who has fallen for her sees her big heart and goes after the real Jade. It’s obvious from the notes who it is, and there aren’t that many possibilities in the story, but it’s still a blast to see how the clues are given and it plays out. These are very sweet and innocent stories, the total opposite of so many bully romances or the highly sexed and drug filled young adult romances on the market. It’s a refreshing change.
A new month at Ryder High and a new secret admirer has left his mark. this time with Miss Jade Rose the one who isn't afraid to speak her mind or stand up for herself, she didn't need a guy, she was honestly fine by herself. So, to Jade's shock when she seen that teal envelope on her locker but unlike the other girls in school, she wanted no part of any of this, so she took the letter off her locker and added an N so now it looked like Jaden was the it girl. To Jade's shock the next day she had another envelope on her locker from her admirer, and he isn't ready to take no for an answer for Jade. Jade gives in and figures why not have some fun, movies, mystery, games and she's planning on not letting anyone help her, this mystery guy has a thing or too coming of her thinks he can win Jade over this easily.
Did this live up to the first book? No. Was it better than the second? Yes. This book was not horrible at all, but some of the characters had their annoying moments that made me roll my eyes one too many times. I did love the consistent small connections throughout the book and that the secret admirer was someone we already knew. That ending though was kinda weird and although his final reveal was supposed to be cute and romantic in a “i see you say” it was just kinda creepy. It gets extra points because it wasn’t as predictable as the last. Like you kinda get it but not as immediate as the second book. Overall the series needs as much mystery as the first one!
Again this was cute but i think my least favourite of the 3 so far.
I didn't really like Jade. She said she was a feminist but spent most of her time preening in the mirror or fixing her nails, make up and hair always having to look perfect. She spent a full day obsessing because she chipped one nail.
She just seemed a little self involved and her friend Mel was just the worst. Basically calling her a sheep if she went with the secret admirer to prom when it turned out she had a date to prom.
I did like the guy though. It was a good choice although i don't know why he liked her.
They are still cute little stories though if you have just read something dark
I loved the concept of someone who looked down on the Secret Admirer process getting picked to play. Seeing how her Admirer did his best to frame his clues in a unique way that was fun for both of them made me fall for him even before Jade did. I enjoyed several of the side characters and would not be mad to see them pop up in future books, possibly even as Admirers or recipients themselves. I especially love how each book ends with an epilogue from the Secret Admirer's point-of-view to really round out the story.
I've been waiting for Colby's turn ever since he made an appearance in 'Dear Mckinnon'. I love how thoughtful he is and the reverse sunshine x grumpy trope happening
As for FMC, I liked her but her best friend was kinda annoying (and maybe I'm saying this cause I have a friend like that)
I loved the movies references and that the gifts were also movie references. Colby is definitely my favourite Ryder High boy:)
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
honestly my least favorite of the three i've read so far, I knew who it was almost instantly....
it feels repetitive idk, I love the series and the story i I just think it could've been better. but I loved the characters and how they bring in characters from the other two books
