The Find #3

Retribution

Rate this book
A quiet September morning turns into a nightmare when ten people are killed and dozens injured in a senseless massacre. The brutal attack is quickly dismissed as an act of terrorism, but as inspectors Paikkala and Lindström begin to piece together what happened and try to figure out if there's any connection between the victims, more questions arise than answers.
Was this a futile act to create fear and chaos or was there another motive behind the madness?
Then more gruesome murders surface, and for one of the inspectors the case becomes very personal, with old wounds being ripped open. Wounds and memories that were better left untouched.

With the pressure mounting and time running out, the race is on for the Gävle team to find out what connects these seemingly random murders before anyone else dies.

Retribution is the third installment in The Find series and continues the story that began in The Find and Evil Beneath The Skin.

Engineer by day, writer by night—that's how I would describe myself. Since childhood, I have been fascinated with how writers can create entire worlds with simple words and draw others into their stories. I remember spending my summer holidays as a teenager reading detective stories and trying to write my own tales in the style of Agatha Christie on an old typewriter (yes, I'm that old!).

In the evenings, I would read my freshly typed pages to my younger sister, always ending on a cliffhanger to keep her longing for more. Those were precious moments. But as I got older and my schedule filled up with a job, husband, and children, there was little time left for writing. Eventually, I realized that all those stories in my head had disappeared.

In 2020, at the start of the Covid pandemic, I decided to reignite my passion for writing and published my first novel, THE FIND, on Amazon. Since then, this has become a full-blown book series.

As a writer, I truly appreciate your feedback and reviews. I am still on a learning curve and can always do better.

I am grateful to all the readers who have taken the time to read my books.

Thank you, and I hope you enjoy the series.

Living these novels.

I have literally bombed my way through the first three books in this series. Delighted too to see there is a new one coming, called the storm.
I listened and read the books using the voice loaded into my Kindle. I like the female voice and she managed the Swedish words quite well. Worth a go I think.
Overall a great series. Yes there are a few holes to navigate around but they are more about my musings than any flaw in the text. Wouldn't dare assume.
Anyhoo, get ready to enjoy this book.

Addictive

I like that a lot of the characters have flaws and are not perfect as they are portrayed in a lot of books. I would recommend for readers who like a good psychological thriller with twists and turns which keep you wanting more. I left my review until the 3rd book as sometimes the momentum fizzles out but not this time.

same problem as with #2.

I had to quit it because of a time delay between 1 and 2 and there is a vast complex of characters and story lines which ran from 1 into 2 that I couldn't keep up with and now they run into 3 and I have no idea of the who, what, why of the character story lines.

The book reads well, the whodunit is well laid out and the 'procedural' process of investigation is fine, but, if you lack some memory cells which provide continuity between the books in the serries, you may have problems like me.

Ya, I could probably hang in there and finish and maybe #4, which I have, might make sense, but too many on my TBR already to 'hope' it works out.

I normally have about 6 series going at once, reading one book from each and then starting at the first series again and have little problem keeping up. Just can't do it with this one.

the ongoing saga

I am totally engrossed in the story and the characters. The plot slowly unfolds as takes the reader on a roller coaster of a ride. There are surprises and twists around every corner. I can’t wIt to read the next book.

kindle - 4.75* - a terrorist attack wasn’t really ideal reading for me lol but stuck with it and another really readable, good book with loads of twists turns and plots. Just about managed to keep up with all the different names in the plots, but urgh so good. What a find this series was!
