This is a great template for those looking to grow themselves as leaders.
It is well guided and I would recommend doing this with someone who already has, or even together with someone still working through their own version.
It's a lot of self-work, so be ready to learn things you may not have known you needed. It's very actionable so I'm looking forward to seeing my growth and development over the next few years while utilizing this reflective process.

It very much reminds me of Brene Brown's SFD (shitty first draft) and how to change that. This is what stories do we tell ourselves, how do they serve us (or not!) and how can we change them to better serve us, our team mates, and the communities we serve.

In this book, Matt Taylor lays out his approach to social-emotional school leadership centered on what he has coined the 5 square. Building off of Daniel Goleman’s work on emotional intelligence, Taylor has developed a thoughtful process for developing self awareness, self management, social awareness, and relationship management skills to be more effective school leaders. The book functions more as a workbook rather than just a strait forward narrative. Regardless it is a welcome tool for improving the emotional learning of our school leaders and by proxy the learning of the staff and students in our schools.
