My little black heart is freaking broken for Hunter and I can’t stop crying 😭😭
I knew this story would have hurted me, because it was clear from the beginning where it would have lead but it doesn’t mean I was ready....
X My Heart show us that love isn't always beautiful, that letting someone in can hurt so much... but it’s worth it, because there’s a reason behind everything that happenes to us.
L.A Wayward' writing style improves with each book she releases. And she kinda amazed me with this one 'cause it's different from the previous.
It's not perfect, some things could have been managed in a better way, but the characters she creates, the emotions she brings up feel so real ...they demand your attention.
I really loved Hunter. He seems so tough from the outside but he is so breakable...
Even the side characters were amazing, especially Drew, Tim and Jay 😍😍
I can’t say the same for Sky.
I understand her situation, her pain, her fear... but she acted like a selfish child too many times for my liking. It didn’t stop me from suffer for her tho.

X My heart took me for an emotional rollercoaster ride, it brought up emotions and feelings in spades, I had to keep putting it down and digesting it. Sky and Hunter's story touched my soul and will resonate with me for years to come.

This book deserves all of your attention. All your love. All your heart. Go into it blind. Don’t read beyond the blurb. Just jump in, and live through every moment of it. This is one of the most beautiful books I have ever read. And I am forever grateful that I got to experience it. Hunter and Sky don’t quite start off on the right foot, but it doesn’t take long for them to become comfortable with each other. That feeling you have with someone when you can just enjoy the comfortable silence? That’s them. While Hunter would normally not care, he sees Sky carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders, and he just wants to help carry it for her. Hell, he wants to carry all the weight so she never has to. He’s willing to wait. Wait for Sky’s full attention, wait for her burdens, wait for her love. I knew almost instantly that my heart was going to need to brace for impact. Every time an emotion passed between them, I felt my heart crack a little more. I love the way the POVs switched within chapters. It definitely made a beautiful difference in telling their story. I still feel the raw emotions from this book, but I already know I want to reread it again. Feeling their love once just wasn’t enough.

My heart is broken not just broken but broken into a million tiny pieces! This was a beautiful love story Sky and Hunter are the definition of soulmates i dont know if i have ever read two main characters that were more in love or more perfect for each other before. This story will be sticking with me for a while. L.A Wayward knocked this one out of the box! You will not regret reading this book but do it when you are alone and have tissues!

Definitely grab tissues for this one because you will need it. I always say that Liz has an amazing way of making her stories sound realistic. This one was the best yet. The emotions that this book had were so real and raw. It made me cry so often. Even though I did not particularly connect with Sky’s or Hunter’s personality, their story felt like it could happen to anyone. So many emotions and written so well. Definitely recommend!

This is not a romance story with a HEA.
It’s a gut wrenching, heart stomping and tear jerker of a love story.
I wasn’t expecting to need a box of tissues, chocolate and lots of wine after reading this! I am not ok!
Sky is on a life journey when she seeks out her father who trains BMX riders. This is where she meets bad boy Hunter who loves drugs, sex and riding.
Her father warns the two to not get close, for more reasons then one.
I’m stopping my review here because to say more would spoil it for others.

X My Heart is right, this one hurt but in the best way possible. I love every wild ride this story took me on. The way L.A. wrote this story was perfect it left so much mystery until the end, this way you were able to fall in love with the characters and the story before it broke your heart.
Honestly there was so much to this story that I didn't expect and the way she wrote it was perfect. I cant seem to get enough of her writing. I couldn't put this book down even though it might hurt.
Hunter, man this guy has been through so much throughout his life and I am so glad he got to meet Sky. They’re definitely a match for one another, they push each other to be the best versions of themselves. Sky’s story was so emotional that you just can’t not feel for her and the journey she took to meet Hunter and reconnections with Jay. The chemistry these too share was so perfect no wonder they couldn’t stay away from each other.
This story was filled with so much loss, love, anger, and it was heartbreaking to read , but this story was exactly what I needed in my life. Reading Hunter and Sky’s story was honestly such a pleasure to read. Also can we talk about how much I love this cover, it’s perfect. I honestly don’t think I could've survived this story without the epilogue. Thank you L.A for the chance to read this ARC.

When I DNF I book I normally just say it wasn't for me but can’t with this story. In my opinion this isn't a romance. It's what you call a romance tragedy because of how it ends. I'm sad I had to DNF this.

The prologue starts emotionally at an 100% which leaves you wondering how we get to that point which I really liked. I felt for Jay, Sky's Dad so deeply. All of the character's in this book had a vulnerability & softness under their prickly exterior that I really fell for. Moments of softness and banger between Hunter & Sky really made this book memorable to me ❤️ Hunter's nickname for her 🥰 so sweet and I loved how he fell hard and fast.

Jay's letter to sky left me in tears. He missed her the whole time and my heart really goes out to him for raising the guys. The fact we are kept in the dark about Sky's health situation like Hunter I thought built really good tension, I wanted to know what was wrong and we were sort of given clues throughout the novel.
The mentions of Hunter's dad's MC Devil's Sons left me wondering if we'll get a spin off series 😉
😭 Chapter 22 will break your heart. When she tells him about her sickness my heart broke for them both.
Page 297 - 300 😢🩷 Tear City! ARGH I cried and had to take a break because of all my feelings! They finally confessed fully how they felt.
The beach surf scene and BBQ when everyone was there for Sky and Hunter hit HARD 🥹 Also Sky knowing Quinn may be there for Hunter once the time is right hurts so bad. Ooof and the last chapter really wrapped it up for me.

This was a first for me from this author and I don’t know how the heck I have not read anything from her yet. I loved that first it is a story of Sky trying to reconnect with her father there in the process she meets Hunter. Hunter is the bad boy of BMX the champion and he is automatically captivated by Sky. This book will have you enthralled from beginning to end. It is so well written. It gives you everything you needed yet you didn’t know it. From the moment you meet this two flawed souls you will automatically love them and root for them. They both have been through so much and are flawed in their own way yet together they fit so beautifully. We get everything from great witty moments to lots of humor. We get lots of emotional moments with some surprises thrown in to kept us on out toes. We get lots of action some angst and some off the charts chemistry as well as some drama , tragedy and dealing with loss and grief. It is a well rounded book you won’t want to miss. I cannot wait to read more from this author and cannot recommend enough.

Having read all of Ms.Wayward's work so far, i couldn't wait for more from her! From the moment i found out about this book i knew i had to pick it up. I started reading it and got into it quickly. I so enjoyed this story!
Right from the prologue, Sky and Hunter's journey pulled me in! As these two are brought into each other's lives, I couldn't wait to see how everything would play out!
I wasn't sure what all to expect in this story and that got me into it even more. I loved how both Sky and Hunter had me going through many emotions all throughout!

Right from the prologue, Sky and Hunter's journey pulled me in! As these two are brought into each other's lives, I couldn't wait to see how everything would play out!
I wasn't sure what all to expect in this story and that got me into it even more. I loved how both Sky and Hunter had me going through many emotions all throughout!

Definitely won’t be able to write too much without the risk of giving too much away. But I can tell you to prepare for an emotional read. From the very beginning, I could tell this one was going to hurt and it definitely did.
Sky’s venturing on an emotional journey. She’s not expecting Hunter to come crashing in, throwing her out of kilter. But neither is he. Hunter has his own demons to face. Initially, I wasn’t too sure about him. But Hunter grew on me quickly. And his relationship with Sky was one I came to love.
I loved the BMX component of this. There was banter, great friendships, spice, and all the feels. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a combo of steamy romance and a tear jerker! ❤️

I went in blind… I WANT IN BLIND!!! Based on the sexy as hell cover, I was expecting an easy, smutty read. WELL I WAS WRONG!
L.A. Wayward, you completely obliterated my heart. I am seriously heartbroken right now. That being said, this was an amazing love story that will stick with me for a long time!

Sky and Hunter are literally angsty relationship goals. Did it hurt? Yes. Was it worth it? YES 🙌🏻. I’ve never read any books about BMX before this one, however now I’m obsessed with reading more ❤️

This coming of age story pulls at the heartstrings more than I was expecting it to. When Sky travels to meet her father she quickly is swept into Hunter's orbit. Neither of them want the distraction they both pose to each other, but the spark that forms between them is more complicated to push away than they ever thought it would be. Sometimes love isn't easy and it comes around when we least expect it, but maybe it's the best thing that could have happened. Thank you L.A. Wayward for an arc of this book.

My Heart has healed slightly since finishing this book yesterday. This book will stay with me for a long time.
If you can go into this book completely blind please do.
It was raw, stunning and all consuming. I laughed, cried, swore and swooned but all in I was in awe of how well the story was written and the emotions betrayed.

"Love isn’t clean. It’s messy, and sometimes it’s as dirty as BMX."
Its so true. You can't control when love will find you or what state it will find you in but you should always be open to it. This story was beautiful. Beautifully inspiring and beautifully heart wrenching. I can honestly say that I probably cried myself through the last 3rd of it. It does have a HEA, just not in the way you would think. I loved the characters and the chemistry between Sky and Hunter. Perfect for anyone who wants a good, deep emotional read.

I would give more than 5⭐️ if I could and that doesn’t happen very often to me.
I’m not even sure how to write my review without giving too much away.
Hunter (22) is a typical bad boy who loves s*x, drugs and alcohol.
His life is about his career, being number one, while he makes sure he doesn’t get attached to anyone.
Sky (20) is Hunter’s trainer’s daughter who is visiting her father. That’s how the 2 meet.
Her father warns both of them not to get involved with each other and he has good reasons.
Hunter thinks it’s only because he’s a womaniser but he is so wrong.
He knows nothing about Sky’s past and she thinks she hides it pretty well.
Until it gets obvious.
She teaches him how to love and I think that’s the most important and beautiful thing what could have happened to Hunter.
Sky knows that he has a piece of her heart forever and she makes sure she lets him know that it’s okay to share his heart.
All I can say is that my heart is in million pieces. I was warned that I would need a tissue but let me tell you, you will need a full box!
I absolutely loved the friendship between Hunter and Drew, and Sky and Tim. It was just beautiful.
This book is pure perfection. It’s safe to say that it will stay in my heart forever.

Liz, what a book. You know I'm massive fan, I love your books, but this one is extra amazing. I knew it was going to be an emotional read but I sobbed and cried so much.
I don't know why I had such a reaction to this story. But blimey, it hurt. My heart ached for both Sky and Hunter. I was heart broken.
All the stars and a massive round applause for tackling such a tough subject.

This book. I cannot think of many other books that made me as emotional as Sky and Hunter’s love story did. From page one, I knew that I was going to go on a RIDE with these characters. (pardon the pun… actually, pun totally intended lol)

The connection between Sky and Hunter is insanely intense! Life altering kind of deep. I think that’s what makes it so emotional on the page. I got sucked into their whirlwind of falling in love, more like crashing in love really 🔥 There was nothing slow or delicate about it. And, it is not just the instant bond between Sky and Hunter that makes this book stand out. There are other connections, like Sky and her father, that make it so much more… complex.

This was something new from this author. She delivered us this emotional, heart-wrenching book with these fantastic characters! This was such an incredible story!

Sky is estranged from her father and decides to live with him in San Diego for a bit to repair their relationship. He trains BMX riders and Hunter is on his team - the bad boy with a past. Sky and Hunter live on the same property, what could go wrong?

Here’s the exact feeling you get while reading this story: you feel like an outsider looking in, observing, frustrated at the words on the page that are filled with withheld secrets, and oftentimes you want to yell, “just say it!” But you’re also invested in these characters so much that you’re scared to know what’s going to happen within the pages you haven’t turned. You continue to read, but you’re uneasy because there’s a pretty major secret that will leave you shocked and on edge through the majority of this book.
The characters of Sky and Hunter are beautifully written - both simple and complicated in their own way, but yet, when combined, they make the best pair of misfits. Hunter was just perfect and I adored him.
This story will make you happy. It will make you cry. It will make you really think about things in your own life and it will make you think about what happens if your life isn’t the fairytale you deserve.
