When Penny first stepped into the towering offices of Crown Enterprises, the only thing she knew was that her new boss, the terrifying Jude Crown, was fiercely handsome and went through secretaries faster than a lion at a steak buffet. But it’s been a week now and Penny has learned a lot.
She’s learned that Jude likes her to wear skirts and heels to work, that he likes her hair up instead of down, and that if a limo shows up at 2 am to collect her from her Brooklyn apartment to take her to his townhouse on the Upper Westside, it’s part of her job to dress up, get in, and do everything her boss says.
Penny learned this because Penny is a fast learner. And if she’s on her best behavior, maybe she won’t end up on the street looking for another job. Because as he said, she’s not like the other girls. And he has no reason to lie. Does he?
So this author has returned to her brand of having the hero claim the heroine’s virginity—two thumbs up for that and the ONLY reason I’m giving it 3 stars—but the story itself was rushed, cold and emotionless.
The heroine meets the hero, is immediately hit upon in a way that would guarantee a MeToo Twitter feeding frenzy to go along with a hefty lawsuit and lots of bad publicity. I can’t imagine a man as powerful as the H would be so silly as to put himself in such a precarious position before he even knows the heroine. The author doesn’t build up any sort of relationship or emotional connection between the two MCs AT ALL—it’s just meet, hit on heroine, have sex. It’s not even shown as to why the two MCs are drawn together.
This isn’t insta-love, it’s just insta-lust and I’m not sure how they even got to that point because they barely have a conversation together before the H is hitting a home run. Granted this is a super short story, it takes up 60 pages, but I’ve read romance novellas before with more heart and soul and this one had neither.
It’s also laughably inconsistent. This is from the hero’s POV after they have sex: “I just met this girl. I don’t know anything about her, and I didn’t get to where I am today by trusting everyone I met.”
Ummmm, dude. You don’t know anything about her, but you just stuck your dick in her?!?!? You JUST had unprotected sex with her. You’re trusting her enough to possibly be the mother of your child and cash in on your wealth. You were 5 mins into meeting her and pushing her down to the floor to give you a bj. You’re trusting her not to report your ass to HR, or run to the media with stories of how you sexually harassed her on her first day of work!!
To make matters even more worse, the hero takes the heroines innocence and then SENDS HER HOME. he doesn’t even spend the night cuddling her or treating her as someone to be cherished and respected. He used her as a cum dump, sent her packing and the heroine is too stupid to realize this
The story did get better towards the end, they build a relationship and the hero doesn’t show her the door after sex anymore. And on a positive note, the hero doesn’t call the heroine degrading names and he doesn’t come off as a manwhore.
The ending wasn’t great. Theres an epilogue 4 years out, but no babies, just the intention of having one.
Safe. Hero’s past isn’t mentioned. Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to the hero. No others, no cheating or outright abuse. HEA with epilogue
I don’t know, this book was weird. I didn’t form any bond with the characters, and I honestly didn’t expect to, considering that the book was under 100 pages. But still. There was a lot of eye roll moments. Like the H was very very sleazy and gave off uncomfortable vibes, especially at the start. The h was a bit annoying but I got over it. Very basic and slightly misogynistic with some of the things they said. But you know, it was expected. Anyway, not too bad. Maybe I’m just picky cause it’s 2:30 and I should go to sleep.
Don’t really recommend if you’ve got other books to read, but if you’re bored, have at it. Spice was a 1/5
Jude and Penny meet on her first day at work, he is her boss. Their attraction was instantaneous. The story was hot and steamy. They had great chemistry. There was some drama and a misunderstanding to work through to get to their HEA but in the end their love for each other won out!.

DNF: Only made it like 50%-ish. This book was recommended to me by Amazon's Kindle. I don't know why it would recommend this book to me it is nothing like anything I have read or liked before. So first off, Jude Crown is a creep, plain and simple. Penny Whateverherlastnameis is stupid and unsure of herself; I don't believe I have ever read a female character this naive and truly stupid, ever. It was painful to read, I literally kept physically cringing.
Gostei, mas merecia mais conteúdo...um livro extenso seria perfeito. Ainda assim, gostei da ligação entre os protagonistas apesar de ser insta love/lust.
This book is pretty much as advertised. Take one look at the cover, title and synopsis and you know exactly what your getting. And for a quick smut read its not terrible and has some decent smut. That being said this story felt rushed and abrupt.
For instance when Penny calls him "Daddy" the first time it felt so out nowhere and like it was just added to stay up to date with trends.
Also Penny's "I'm not like other girls" moment is laughable in retrospect considering how the "conflict" plays out the NEXT day.
Penny goes from saying this:
"But I’m not any other girl. I’m the girl who Jude lets do things no one else would ever even dream of doing do him – especially not in his office"
To believing this:
“You’re his side piece, Penny,” Gretchen snaps, her voice filled with venom like a snake. “I’m his main girl.”
And the irony of it is she KNOWS Gretchen was Jude's previous secretary who was escorted out by SECURITY at the beginning of the book after being fired.
All in all the characters meet day 1, boink night 1, with Jude falling in "love" night 2, fake ow drama day 3 and epilogue four years later.
* After giving the story more thought - Gretchen's arc makes little sense and really does feel like just a reason for some light OW / doubting the relationship drama.
*Originally rated the book a 3/5 but as I thought through some of the above mentioned plot, it fell down to a 2/5. For me personally a 3/5 means an ok - average read that lives up to its particular genre and tropes or a book I liked but don't love.

“and ravage her tight, young, innocent little body like the savage I am, while she looks up at me with those big, naïve globes and moans my name over and over while I give her the ride of her life.”
bitch wtf are you andrew tate???
“I let my eyes drift down and see a tiny, trimmed patch of hair hiding her little pussy from me. I brush it gently with two fingers, causing Penny’s back to arch and her breasts to press against my chest. “You’ll have to shave that for me, baby.”
stfu you old fucking groomer
“It all makes sense now. The secrecy of our “romance,” why we couldn’t be seen together at the office, why he sent a car for me so late at night, and why Gretchen put on such a convincing performance when she left the office that day. He played me.”
Penny is hired to be the secretary to Jude who is notorious for firing his secretaries. Jude has specific rules when it comes to his secretaries and when he sees Penny, he knows that she will be his. Quick read with intense chemistry and drama. Great characters with sizzling scenes. I liked it.
The Boss's Pet was about 38-year-old Jude Crown, the CEO of Crown Enterprises, and his new secretary, 18-year-old Penny Johnson. Jude was considered one of the worst CEOs to work for, which seemed to be confirmed by the fact that he had already gone through seven other secretaries by the time Penny was offered the job. Once Jude took a look at Penny, he sent her immediately to a high-priced store to buy new clothes, and he also determined she was his upon seeing her in the new outfit. There was a moment on that first day when he had her on her knees in his office ready to give him a bj but they were interrupted by an international call. As she turned to leave the office, Jude thought to himself that she "might be the one". After work, Penny returned to the apartment she shared with several other women and told them only the minor details of her day, but didn't include anything about what had transpired between her and Jude. Around 2 in the morning, her phone buzzed, alerting her to a call. It was Jude, telling her a car would pick her up in 20 minutes, and to wear something sexy. So she dressed in somewhat matching lingerie, high heels, and a trench coat. The night following their first time together, Penny was once again chauffeured to his home, where Jude's inner monologue was all about how things were moving fast between them, and he admitted he was already falling for Penny. When Jude invited Penny to attend an event with him, she accepted. However, he left her alone more than he was with her, and she started to feel out of place. Then one of his former secretaries crept up beside her and informed Penny that Jude only wanted her as a side piece and that she (the other woman) was his main girl. With her youth and inexperience already wreaking havoc with her self-confidence, the other woman's words only solidified her fear that Jude had only been playing her to get what he wanted, so she left without telling him. When he realized she had left, and he had noticed the presence of a former secretary he had fired just before he met Penny, Jude knew something had gone horribly wrong and raced to her apartment, only to be confronted by three of her roommates, who refused to let him see her. I have to say, this was one of this author's better books, but it still wasn't her best. While it was a short story, it had almost everything you'd find in a full-length novel. The angst level was lodged somewhere between medium and high, the drama was OTT, and it even had a smattering of heartache. But the spice level was at a level that was somewhere near a slow simmer. The characters were well-developed, and although the FMC needed more time to mature, the immaturity actually worked with how the storyline flowed. She started out 100% innocent and naive, gained some experience along the way, felt the heartache of a love affair on the verge of either falling apart or ending with a HEA, and blossomed along the way. The MMC started off as a difficult, cut-throat, angry-ish boss who mellowed at the first sight of the FMC. His character grew by leaps and bounds, softening only when Penny was near. He was all Alpha-male. The twists and turns of the storyline were plentiful, and the "evil" other woman hit the spot just enough to create a bit of havoc before things fell into place. It was a nice spin on the story. The HEA was quite enjoyable. The worst part of the story was all of the grammatical errors and the repetition. For instance, "A piece of art" was repeated multiple times by both characters in regard to the FMC. It got annoying PDQ. However, those were the only issues I had with the book. Otherwise, it was a decent book, so I gave it a three-star rating.

Penny had no idea what she was walking into the day she arrived at Crown Enterprises, she is hoping that this is the start of her life. She had never thought when she applied for the personal assistant position of the notoriously difficult playboy Jude Crown. It’s not until she reaches the seventy fifth floor that she fully realizes the enormity of the job she is undertaking, even with the screamed warnings of the previous assistant. However, one look at Jude Crown and she knows that her life will never be the same and from the look in her new boss’s eyes she isn’t wrong. But is this a man can be trusted, can she believe that they are what he says they are or will what his previous assistant warned her of become true and very soon she will be yesterday’s news?
Jude Crown hasn’t gotten to where he is in life by being coy and not going after what he wants, that is how he became one of the richest men in the country, he enjoys his lifestyle and knows that he can have and does have any woman that he wants. His last secretary has outlived her position and his new one is due to arrive, he should have known that Gretchen was never going to leave easily which is proven when security are escorting her from the building. Its not how he was expecting the day to start but when his new assistant walks through the door, he can see the sunshine through the clouds. He is taken by Penny straight away and the more time she spends around him the more he can see her around for a lot longer only when it looks like he could have lost her does he truly realize what he wants. Could his past have destroyed a future he never knew he had wanted, is he too late for his own happily ever after?
Jenna always delivers an alpha male we all want in our lives but would never admit to, however I wasn’t exactly struck by Jude in the beginning with his “dress code” or even the way that he treated her as a convenience. The relationship is unbelievable but fun to read. 4* read.
Being young starting a new job for the first time with a boss who has a reputation that proceeds him of firing secretaries left and right in fact her first day there the last girl was just fired and warns her against working there. Penny is so excited to have been called to work with the boss who is known to fire you immediately, she is also a little scared considering she has no experience working period but the moment she meets him yes, he is a little scary but there is something more there which stops her from turning and running away. Jude sexy as all get out owner with a reputation that he is rude, mean, goes through secretaries like he drinks water so when the new girl arrives he isn’t expecting much but boy does she stop him dead in his tracks especially after sending her to get a new outfit and demanding she put her hair up he knew that moment she would be his and he would be hers now to convince his much younger girl they belong together. The attraction is so insane with the two of them from the moment they see each other and it is a whirlwind form the moment he see his girl so when the previous secretary lies to her informing she is only his side piece and she was his main girl well that sends his girl running and of course he isn’t allowing that but will she forgive him, will she believe him or send him packing with her heart, and will they find their own happiness?.

Penny has a new job as secretary to the Ceo of Crown Enterprises, she has never been one before. Jude Crown has been going thru secretaries left and right, the next one will probably not last any longer. He takes on look at Penny and knows he will be keeping her around.
He sends her shopping as he wants her to dress a certain way. He send the limo to pick her up at 2 am, and bring her to his townhouse. She is to do whatever he says, she has no problem with this. If she is on her best behavior she just might keep this job.

It was a OK read though not one I woukd want to read again, sorry. There was not a build up in the MC relationship at all before anything sexual happen. In fact, in less than 5 minutes before she met her new boss, Penny was on her knees about to blow him. 😳 This for sure was a insta-lust, not love, that's for sure. Also, I didn't particularly liked Jude. After taken her virginity he sent her home because he had to have some sleep before having a early morning. It got a bit better by the end of it but I really never felt their connection so it was hard to believe he was as invested in their relationship as she.
Penny just got a job for a man who is known for firing secretaries. Penny goes and is told to buy some clothes, so she does. Jude sees her and knows he has to keep her. This is an age gap, boss , and innocent story. It is short but it lacks nothing on the entertainment scale. This book had me reading non stop until the end. I liked this book very much and the characters were great together. Jude could be demanding but it was all good.

Jenna Rose has been a must read author for me for some time now. She just grabs onto her readers from the 1st page to the last. Her characters are so delightfully flawed that you can't help cheer for their happily ever after. Jude and Penny's story is one of learning to trust your feelings. You will be sorry if you miss this one!.

No, no, no, this was horrible, I did not like it at all. Penny goes to work for the first time and her boss Jude is a complete creep. He ogles her and makes her go buy new clothes for the office. Later that night he makes her come to his place and she loses her virginity to him. Penny's only 18 and she just excepts that her boss can just touch her and she doesn't seem to find anything wrong with any of it and don't get me started on the daddy kink. I didn't even want to finish this book but I made it through. This wasn't my cup of tea.
I thought this was such a steamy and fast-paced romance. Jude is instantly attracted to Penny when she walked through his doors as his new assistant. Penny is terrified but finds him compelling. This alpha billionaire knows what he wants and pretty much takes over and makes her his. I found them a cute couple with such a sizzling and compatible chemistry.

The Boss's New Pet was a quick and steamy read by Jenna Rose. Penny is not sure what to expect on her first day working as assistant to the infamous Jude Crown. Will she join the long line of terminated secretaries or will she prove to be different? Jude is instantly obsessed with his newest assistant and he is determined to keep her with him but will his last secretary succeed in breaking them apart?
The Boss's New Pet is a short and steamy book with an older man/younger woman and boss/employee story-line. I usually am not a big fan of the "pet" trope but I still decided to grab this book because I have read a lot of other books by Jenna Rose and liked them. But this story did not really do it for me and I found it a bit of a miss for me. If you just pass over the "story" and just read the steamy naughty bits then you can have a fun read.
This was a really quick but hot read!!! A few parts made me cringe a little bit but I definitely enjoyed it for the most part!!
Was on the brink of a reading slump in addition to already being a mood Reader so this was definitely what I needed to guck up and help me get back into the game!! Gonna read another from the author to keep the momentum going!!!
The author has given us a fast-paced, older man/younger woman story that pulls us into the lives of Jude and Penny and does not let go. When Penny walks into his office, as his new secretary, they have an immediate connection, and Jude knows that he needs her in his life.

I thought that this was a good book. I had some issues with it but overall, it was good. Penny and Jude are immediately drawn to each other but these two have some issues and some drama to work through before they can get their HEA.

A fantastic age gap office instalove romance! It is well written, fast paced, funny, engaging, steamy, emotionally deep, and well-developed with likeable characters and instant chemistry. Definitely recommended!

It's an ok read. I love the insta love and a man who goes after what he wants. I just wish it didn't have to start with a " let's make the need girl give me head less than 5 minutes after meeting her". If he feels so much for her try a little respect instead of the creep using his power to make her do what he wants that's isn't related to her job at all.
This isn't your conventional romance per se, but that's okay. I still really enjoyed it though. I liked both main characters and I enjoyed reading their growing and changing relationship. The storyline was good also, it kept me reading until I reached the end. After reading this I am very much looking forward to her future books.
A great story full of steamy pages, a man that finally found his heart and young woman that knew what she wanted. I loved the pull and push between these characters and even when it was almost lost, they came back to each other again.
