As a private investigator and ghost whisperer, I ask myself many questions—why can I see dead people? Can I wear purple to my own wedding? How do you get peanut butter out of a raccoon’s fur? But ‘who killed Gianna Tate’ was never among them. Until now.
The cut-throat attorney’s death puts a crimp in my plans, for here I am, all dressed up and ready for the Scarecrow Ball, when she turns up, un-living, riding shotgun in my SUV. Usually an optimist, I’m finding my beloved cup o’ joe less than half full as I set about finding her killer while deflecting questions from my family about my impending wedding to Detective Kade Galloway. Smokin’ hot, lustworthy, mine. Right? I can’t believe it either!
But here we are, knee-deep in vampires, zombies, and scarecrows, hunting a murderer, bathing raccoons, stumbling from one crisis to another, asking myself, red wine or white at the reception?
She didn't know she was dead! She came to hire Audrey to find her blackmailer. Usually an optimist, I’m finding my beloved cup o’ joe less than half full as I set about finding her killer while deflecting questions from my family about my impending wedding to Detective Kade Galloway. But here we are, knee-deep in vampires, zombies, and scarecrows, hunting a murderer, bathing raccoons, stumbling from one crisis to another, asking myself, red wine or white at the reception? This is an awesome book. I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
We are book seven in this series, and it’s still going strong. I just love Audrey because she embraces her flaws and doesn’t let that slow her down. I also love how supportive Kade is, how supportive her friends are, and her lovable sidekicks round out the wonderful characters. In addition to that, there’s always a good mystery to solve, and we get to figure it out right along with Audrey. This was an excellent addition to the series, and I can’t wait to see what Audrey gets up to next. A well-written, fun, cozy paranormal! Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
This series has been so much fun. Each book provides laughter from the very first page. Audrey is an absolute hoot. The wedding should be front and center in her life right now. But murder and mystery will have to come first. Her newest client (ghost) is a bit different than she is used to. Her and Cade will have to work together, as they do best, to solve both the murder and the fact Gianna was being blackmailed. Bandit gets into a sticky situation which ends a little traumatizing for Thor. Oh, and she is definitely not wearing a white wedding dress. Trust me when I say, you will not be able to put this one down. Loved it!
A great addition to the series The authors writing is excellent at keeping your attention The characters are hilarious...I love Thor and Bandit If you love cozy mysteries featuring ghosts then this series is for you Easy read
Who is Gianna Tate? What and why do we learn about her? What has Audrey done that she regrets? Where was she headed? What is going on and why does Audrey go to Galloway's house? Will they get to their destination? What happens when Galloway starts to apologize to Audrey? Who are Amanda, Caroline, and Caroline? Where do we find Audrey and Caroline? Best quote early in the book, "Secrets, murder and gambling. Three of my favorite things." Who do we find at Gianna's house? Where do they all work? What does Audrey learn about straw? Oh, how Audrey loves to torture Amanda. That was so funny!!!! Why does Gallway tell Audrey no? Who are Seb, Harry, and Troy? How does Audrey know or meet each of these men? What does Galloway propose to Audrey about Seb? What does she say? What dow e find out when the warrant is served? I have to admit that I did NOT see the who in "who dun it?" coming that came. What was happening with Gianna? Read and see!
☆ WILD GHOST CHASE ☆ BOOK# 7 GHOST DETECTIVE SERIES ☆ JANE HINCHEY ☆
Cosy up with a Cuppa, Blanket & Hinchey Cozy. A Great Read This Winter!
THE QUEEN OF COZY'S SPINS ANOTHER CLIMATIC WINNING TALE!
What I love most about The Ghost Detective Series, is it's a light-hearted, funny romp with brilliantly written characters who are flawed, funny, realistic & relateable. Especially our accident prone klutz, leading lady Audrey (Fitz) Fitzgerald. I absolutely adored that this story was not as predictable as the last couple (sorry Jane), which for me were way too easy to work out the 'Who-done-it.' Although I highly rated those last couple of books, this story is great! I truly thought this aspect made the story incredible & so much more enjoyable for me, with Ms Hinchey knocking it outta the park for a Six & back to full fighting form (thank goodness the hardships/Hell of the past 2 years are coming to an end.
I was fairly certain knew which characters didn't do it, but the guilty party, evaded me & was hard to pick. I did think about them early on as the culprit, but later dismissed it. This murder mystery was not so easy to work out. Thank you Jane, I love it when an author can stump/suprise me, as it doesn't happen often anymore.
This book was so hard to put down & I read it in one sitting in a few hours. Come join our regular crew, Audrey [Fitz] Fitzgerald (a ghost whispering Dr Doolittle Private Investigator), Kade Galloway (Captain Cowboy Hot Pants, Police Dectevive & Audrey's Fiance), Ben Delaney (Audrey's dead BFF, ghost, an ex cop & PI), Thor (Audrey's smart mouth British short-haired cat with an addiction to food & bad attitude), Bandit (Audrey's naive, cute & sweet pet raccoon) & Seb Sebastian Castle (Audrey's gay new neighbour & living BFF ) on a crazy murder mystery who-done-it that's so entertaining & full of laugh out loud moments & life, its hard to believe the stories situated around dead people.
Within the pages of this book there are some major new ghostly developments that will make you say Whooooo Hooooo! I can't wait to see where these advances lead our beloved regular characters & secondary guest appearance characters. As Audrey's skills & experience mature as a private detective, so do the the skills & abilities our ghost exhibit. I so want more!
I RATE WILD GHOST CHASE 6 ☆ Out Of 5☆!
I highly recommend this book & author. Rush out & buy 'WILD GHOST CHASE' today and check out her other incredible series & stand-alone too. I have them all & love them! Happy Reading!!
I received an ARC from the author and this is my fair, honest and impartial review as always.

Audrey is all dressed up but the party is a no-go. A ghost is sitting in her car and she knows that means Galloway is about to get called to a murder scene. The real bad news is that the ghost is a lawyer at the law firm where her sister-in-law works as a paralegal and who was, apparently, planning on hiring Audrey to investigate a blackmail threat. Gianna is also dressed in a fairy godmother costume in preparation for attending the same Scarecrow Ball that Audrey is supposed to be attending - though admittedly Gianna's costume is much better than her scarecrow outfit. Straw is itchy. Who knew?
The case makes no sense right from the start. There was a pre-party at Gianna's house, and the hostess was murdered in her own walk-in closet. (Does anyone really need that many gowns?) All the guests were in a room together when the murder occurred. So, who could have done it? Audrey and Ben find a few possibilities by retracing Gianna's steps on the day of the murder, but nothing is panning out. It would help if the victim could give them a clue - but she doesn't seem to realize she's dead. Gianna keeps going along like it is just another week at the office. And how is she managing to touch things?
Audrey has another problem. She and Galloway have set a date for their wedding and now everyone keeps asking her questions she can't answer. Like, when is she going to pick out a dress and where are they holding the ceremony? Amanda offers to go shopping with her (God forbid) and Seb offers to officiate. She doesn’t have to decide this stuff yet, right? Gulp. She needs more Cheez-Its.
I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
PI Audrey and Detective Galloway are going decked out in their costumes to the annual Scarecrow Ball. As Audrey is driving to pick up Galloway the hostess of the pre-ball party, a well-known divorce lawyer, Gianna Tate, shows up in Audrey's car as a ghost but she doesn't know she's a ghost. The pre-ball party is at Gianna's mansion. But she's dead! Gianna wants to hire Audrey as a PI to find out who is blackmailing her. She agrees to take on the case so she can also help with who killed Gianna. With the additional help of her ghost best friend, Ben who had left his PI business and all his worldly goods to Audrey she and Galloway have an entire costumed law firm as suspects. But, they are all in the ballroom. Did anyone leave? At first, Audrey and Kade make a bet as to who could solve the crime first but they had to share information. So off they went with interviews, false clues, red-herrings and we are taken on a roller coaster ride through suspect after suspect. Who could have done it? Could it have been the blackmailer? Gianna was a ruthless attorney, could it have been a former client? Will she ever realize she is a ghost? Now we add to this them the impending wedding between Audrey and Kade with her sister-in-law being a surrogate bridezilla! So enter Audrey's neighbor and friend, Seb who said he would be Audrey's wedding planner. And add to that, Audrey was left Ben's cat, Thor who she can talk to and understand and Bandit her pet racoon who she also can talk to. This is a fun 7th book in a thoroughly enjoyable series and I can't wait to see what will happens next! I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
Audrey Fitzgerald, Private Investigator, is facing something new, a different kind of ghost. When high powered attorney Gianna Tate pops up to hire Audrey to find a blackmailer, she has no idea that she’s dead. She continues to do things Audrey doesn’t think she should be able to do. Audrey’s sister-in-law Amanda was present when Gianna met her end. While Amanda is often less than helpful, in this case, she’s willing to break rules and give Audrey an inside look at Gianna’s workspace. Audrey, her fiancée, Detective Cade Galloway, Gianna, and ghostly friend Ben all join together to ferret out the perpetrator and uncover a secret or two. Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper tale without the appearance of Audrey’s cat, Thor, and raccoon, Bandit, who definitely liven things up. All this going on as Audrey must face planning for her wedding. She’s doing her best to avoid dealing with her mother’s and Amanda’s fussing over it all, let alone shopping for an appropriate dress.
This is a great additions to a wonderful series. These books never fail to entertain and amuse while leading the reader through an interesting mystery. And there’s always just the right touch of clean romance. I highly recommend this book and the entire series.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the author. I thank her for her generosity, but it had no effect on this review. All opinions in this review reflect my true and honest reactions to reading this book.
Wild Ghost Chase is the seventh book in the Ghost Detective Series. And I hope there are a hundred more! All Audrey wanted to do was attend Firefly Bay’s annual Scarecrow Ball with her smokin’ hot fiancé, Galloway, aka Captain Cowboy Hotpants. They even had awesome matching scarecrow costumes! Unfortunately, Gianna Tate had other plans. Like hiring Audrey to find out who was trying to blackmail her. And since Gianna was a successful divorce attorney and partner at Beasley, Tate, and Associates, Gianna was used to getting what she wanted. There was just one small problem. Gianna Tate was dead. Murdered. And in denial. Audrey can see and talk to ghosts, which comes in handy when she’s helping Galloway solve cases. She even has her own PI Agency which she inherited from her best friend, Ben after he was murdered. But she has never met a ghost like Gianna! She can do all kinds of things that most ghosts can’t! Meanwhile back at the homestead Theo and Bandit are driving her crazy….not to mention her family who want to get the wedding planning started. Luckily, she has a great new neighbor, Seb who offers to help. Now all she’s gotta do is convince Gianna that she’s dead so she can solve the case. Just another day. Pass the cheezits please.
A different ghost, considered ruthless as a lawyer and with a lot of mystery of her own, kept me connecting the dots and like Audrey and Kade, making my list in my head. I love these stories that entertain me, make me laugh and at the same time make me think trying to follow the clues that there were many here. One of the many things that stands out to me, and I really like is the relationship between Audrey and Galloway. He makes her feel special with his way of being towards her where he considers her as an equal, his acceptance of her peculiarities that always surround her and of course his love for her. The pets Bandit and Thor are a hit! Different from each other, adorable, funny and with human characteristics that remind me of some people. And Seb’s character, with his intuition, disposition and certain resemblance to Ben in some details, helps Audrey. I really liked how intriguing the plot was, how Gianna surprised Audrey at every turn, and the logic of things that seemed inexplicable.
Book seven in the fantastic Ghost series by Jane Hinchey and yet again she doesn't disappoint. This time the fabulously clumsy Audrey is planning her wedding to Captain Hot Pants AKA Detective Kade Galloway (does she really plan on wearing purple to her own wedding, or is that just a ploy to irritate her sister-in-law Amanda?) so having the obviously dead, high profile lawyer, Gianna Tate turn up in the front seat of her car while on her way to the Scarecrow Ball is obviously not what she had planned.
Gianna appears completely oblivious to the fact that she is dead, insisting on carrying on as if she was still dealing with her latest court case.
Meanwhile Bandit (the super adorable talking raccoon) has managed to get herself covered in peanut butter and needs to go to the 'day spa'.
And what is going on between her ghostly friend Ben Delaney and her neighbour Seb?
Another seriously fun, fabulous read from Hinchey. A definite five stars from me.
Finally a new Ghost Detective book! Yes, Wild Ghost Chase is the latest instalment in this comical, cozy mystery series by Jane Hinchey . And oh it doesn't disappoint!
Murder victim ✅️ Competing with the police to solve crime first ✅️ A ghost with a different attitude and hiring Audrey to solve murder ✅️✅️ Mischievous cat & raccoon running wild ✅️ Oh and planning a wedding and trying to not involve close family? Hammer check!!!
Again Jane has done it again. Merging the supernatural with the normal and giving us plenty of laughs in between. Audrey is trying to juggle her busy work life with her private life..while also trying to organise a wedding to Captain HotPants Kade Galloway. This involves keeping the family at bay, who have complete different views & are far too excited in regards to the big day & the planning. But help is at hand .. As for the victim in question, a lawyer who doesn't seem to realise she is dead on the night of a costume ball. Hint, don't dress up like a Scarecrow. And even a ghost like Ben is capable of learning new tricks . Solving this crime , is it a personal challenge to beat your fiancé & his colleagues or does working together achieve a quicker result?
If you haven't read any of tbe books in this series, do yourself a favour and start with book 1, you won't regret it . But you might binge read!
A workaholic ghost with unusual abilities hires Audrey!
Audrey's hired by a high-flying attorney to solve a case of blackmail, not realising she's already dead, and there are plenty of suspects to keep Audrey and Kade busy running around. Throw in well-meaning family members hassling Audrey about her wedding and Bandit being drawn into mischief by Thor, and Audrey has her work cut out for her. This ghost was fascinating because she was so different from any of the other ghosts Audrey has encountered. The story kept me engaged and I loved seeing more of Seb, Audrey's new next door neighbour. Kade and Thor and Bandit are all superstars, and Ben flitting in and out more than last time made the book so much better. The series is still going strong and that's quite a feat after seven books. Roll on the next one!
This book was the perfect start to the perfect day off! Audrey, Kade and the gang return to solve the murder of a prominent divorce lawyer……no shortage of suspects there! There are endless laughs in this book, from a Scarecrow outfit with intolerably itchy straw, a peanut butter covered raccoon, a ghost who sees life after death as no excuse to have a day off work and the ultimate horror of a wedding planzilla sister in law. I absolutely love this series. Audrey is such a funny, genuine and relatable character. Reading about her adventures feels like coming home to your favourite chosen family. I mean who wouldn’t want to be friends with someone that has a talking raccoon - even if she’s overly fond of peanut butter? I highly recommend this book and the entire series. I can’t wait until the next instalment from Audrey’s world!
Audrey and Galloway grow even closer. As a newly engaged couple, case related challenges show them working together and apart - they seem much better as complements.
Conflicts at the law offices where sister in law Amanda works turn lethal.
Suddenly Amanda wants to be a Bridezilla by proxy, trying to place demands on Audrey.
Luckily, Galloway has her back - even if she wants a purple gown.
A ghost with different skills and unusual forgetfulness is an especial challenge.
The soon to be wed couple gains a fairy gayfather - Seb will be a great asset - and they are likely to be not at the top of the outrageous list if Seb is involved.
You know your day is going to be interesting when a ghost suddenly pops up in the car beside you. So when this happens to Audrey she knows she in for her next case, thing was this ghost was about to hire her. Captain cowboy hot pants aka Galloway and Audrey were going to work against each other but when they have been told by Seb they work better together they call of their bet and to solve this case together. And this case takes them on many roads but several cases get solved in this book. And Audrey whilst she is clumsy she only has a few minor mishaps in this book. But that’s what I love about this series whilst it is a cozy mystery you always get laughs. I’ve loved this series so far and I’m certainly looking forward to so much more from it.
All of the novels in this series are so much fun to read, and this one was as well. Audrey might just be the clumsiest private investigator, but she does always end up solving the cases she takes on. Bandit and Thor make me smile, and provide more than a few laugh out loud situations. Galloway... oh my goodness.. Detective Kade Galloway is Audrey's fiance, and treats her with the utmost respect. He loves every part of her, and makes sure she knows she is treasured for all her quirks and her skills as a P.I. I love this series, and look forward to many more additions to it. 5 Stars all the way!
Audrey works with her dead mentor ( she's a ghost whisperer) to solve the case of Gianna, the murdered divorce attorney. It's handy having someone whose so talented. She's also helping Kade her detective fiance solve the case. Add in a naughty pet raccoon who gets into peanut butter and must get a quick trim and things start to get weird. Gianna is the strangest ghost Audrey has encountered. She hasn't quite figured out she's dead yet. Someone's blackmailing Gianna but why. There's no shortage of suspects and Audrey wants to solve the case before Kade. Throw in their impending wedding and the fun begins. I fished the book in one sitting and can't wait for more.
This time around Audrey gets to see her sister-in-law, Amanda, when she isn't "perfect". Audrey's new client hires her to look into who is blackmailing her but doesn't seem to realize she's dead. Maybe that is why she can interact with the physical world and create her own ghostly accessories like paperwork and files. Anyway, Audrey is on the case and she will solve both the blackmailing case and the murder. In wedding news, she's designated her next door neighbor to be her wedding planner. Has she created a monster? Will she really wear purple like she tells Amanda she will? I can't wait to find out.
This was a great addition to the series. The pacing was on par with the other books. This story seemed even more well written than usual (and that's saying something). The ghost in this one was especially interesting because she was totally different than the ones in the other books. There wasn't quite as much Thor in this one (though there was one scene that was hilarious), but there did seem to be extra Bandit. There were a bunch of suspects and it was fun trying to figure out who the culprit was. The motive was unexpected. Overall it was a good and entertaining book. I am voluntarily reviewing this book, gifted to me by the author with no obligation.
Wild Ghost Chase is the 7th book in the Ghost Detective series by Jane Hinchey.
Ready for the Scarecrow Ball, a deceased attorney shows up and puts a halt to Audrey and Kade’s plans.
I love this series. I can relate to Audrey’s clumsiness. The interest in the wedding plans added a nice dose of humor, but I think Bandit stole the show. She is such a sweetheart! It was an interesting case and an unexpected resolution. This ghost’s abilities are really intriguing. I love a book that makes me laugh out loud and this one did!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love this series! It's so much fun to read!! Audrey and Galloway have a very interesting case to solve and I can happily say, I just did not see where the author was leading us and that's the best part of all....I did not figure this one out. There are laughs, when it comes to Bandit and Thor ( you really need to read this), a small bit of sexy for Audrey and Galloway and Ben is always there to lend a hand (LOL), you really do need to read this so you can understand my evil inner voice teasing you with small hints. Once again, Jane Hinchey did a bang up job and I really hope they just keep coming. Warning: Highly addictive :)
This series has got to be one of my absolute favorite series ever. Audrey is back, along with her best friend Ben, who happens to be dead, her super hot fiancé Kade, her fluffball cat Thor and her Uber hyper raccoon Bandit (I'm convinced Bandit has ADHD lol). This time her case is a doozy with a ghost that is very different from the rest! I absolutely loved this book, it was so much fun! I read it far too fast, so hopefully the next one will be out sooner rather then later! Without giving away any spoilers, all I can say is it is a must read, I promise you'll fall in love with Audrey and her posse in Firefly Bay!
What an amazing continuation of this series. Amazing from start to finish. I don't do spoilers but omg bandit is soo cute with how she runs round saying mum mum mum when Audrey comes in and then when she knows kade is coming its dad dad dad. The story is amazing you get lost in the book and just want to read more all the characters are brilliant even the ones that annoy you I.e. Amanda but she's brill in her own way. As ive said amazing read highly recommended for great stories and great laughs and great characters. 😁
I absolutely love this series of books and I'm lucky enough to be an ARC member so got to read it before today. A tough case for Audrey and a great switch up on the ghost and I'd still love to know how she changed clothes and made herself file's and bags, LOL. Bandit and Thor are a funny pair and I did laugh out loud at the incident with the peanut butter. Makes me seriously want a Racoon and to be able to converse with animals! Fab story, fab characters and fabulously written as always. Can't wait for the next one.
I love this series! Adorable and klutzy PI, Audrey Fitzgerald should be planning her wedding with Detective Kade Galloway but instead finds herself with a ride-along ghost who doesn’t know she is dead. Now instead of trying on wedding gowns, Fitz, along with Kade must find a killer and somehow let their ghost know that she is no longer living. This series makes me laugh out loud and I enjoy every chapter of the story. I can hardly wait for Book 8. This is my honest, voluntary review of an advanced reader copy of this book.
This has to be one of the best books of the series. Audrey is her wonderful, clumsy, ghost seeing, self, and she’s perfect! I love how she, Galloway, and Ben do their investigations.
This was one, very tricky, murder to figure out. I don’t want to give anything away, so I’ll just say that I was just as surprised as the characters when everything was revealed. Such a tragedy! She and Galloway handled things beautifully together and, while justice was served, it was a hard one to do.
I can’t wait for the next book. It is going to be hilarious!
