Rancher Dragon’s Secret Affair is the third story in the Banished Midlife Dragon Shifters series. Everything you’d want to know about Danielle’s and Logan’s story before picking it up can be found in the cover description. What you won’t know is how emotional their story really is, on several levels.
Danny is human, she has no idea that dragons live among the mountains or that they are much closer than she could have ever imagined. She’s focused on her career, on moving up the ranks at the law firm… and avoiding, at all costs, one persistent man in a position to ruin her entire career with a single word. Unfortunately for Danny, she’s about to pull Malcolm into her personal space when she learns that her family ranch is being endangered by the state claiming eminent domain over a large portion of their property to put in a highway connection. When she feels the legalities are above what she can handle at this early part of her career she asks Malcolm for help. Mistake, big mistake.
Logan is a dragon shifter whose family has been banished from their original home and is now surviving by ranching on the mountain… or catering to those who want a ranch experience ticked off of their bucket list. He’s footloose and fancy-free, not ready to settle down at all. Until he runs into Danny, his human mate and everything Logan could have dreamed about his future is turned upside down mostly because he’s been fiercely forbidden to have any contact with Danny by his mother, the matriarch of their family. But Danny is in trouble, her family ranch (his family’s competitors) is in real danger, and no dragon worth its fire would ever walk away from their mate willingly. Not to mention that Danny really wants nothing to do with Logan for she is tunnel-visioned and focused on her career far away from the mountains. And… there’s just something about her boss that feels completely wrong and protecting his mate, even if she won’t acknowledge that, is his top priority.
I enjoyed returning to the Banished Midlife Dragon Shifters series with Rancher Dragon’s Secret Affair. The villain everyone is facing is vile beyond redemption. The danger is very real. And Danny’s stubbornness will cause more than a few tense moments for Logan. I adored Logan, this charming dragon who has to walk a thin line between angering his mother but needing to be with his mate, to safeguard her against an enemy she’s not seeing. I wish I could say the same for Danny. I liked her, but she seems blind to what isn’t her own opinion or idea, and she will not acknowledge that a little help might be needed. But, we love who we love so Danny was Logan’s mate – I accept that she’s perfect for him and that’s all that matters.
If you’ve followed the series so far then without saying too much we will get a hint as to Sarah’s eventual story… and I’m so looking forward to that. In all, I had fun back in this world, with a good story, sizzling chemistry, vile villain, and complex families. Hard to ask for much more than all that.

Danielle Thomas is working in Denver as a new lawyer in a law firm. She has been putting in her “grunt” hours for the last two years and hasn’t done anything else but work, except field her bosses unwanted come ons. When her dad calls asking her help with a legal problem, she rushes home to see what is going on. The State is claiming eminent domain for their ranch that will essentially destroy the entire ranch. When she gets home and finds out this has been going on for quite a while and her dad has been ignoring it, she realizes it is beyond anything she can handle and reluctantly calls her boss for help. There has also been a series of vandalism and sabotage at the resort and the ranch that her dad didn’t tell her anything about.
Logan Hale lives on the ranch next door to the Thomas’s. They run a dude ranch that competes somewhat with the resort that Danielle’s parents run on their ranch. His mother is always warning them not to get friendly with the Thomas’s and especially stay away from the daughter. Talk about waving a red flag in front of Logan! The first thing he does when he hears Danny is home is go over to the ranch and introduce himself. He also realizes she is his mate! Boy is mom going to be mad!
When Danielle’s boss, Malcolm, gets to town everyone hates him including her parents, but they are willing to accept his help. Logan on the other had gets a really bad feeling about him. When Malcolm corner’s Logan and says he knows his secret, Logan is very worried. How can he tell he is a dragon from just touching him. When he gets home and talks to his mom, she is frantic. Malcolm is a “see’er” that can sense dragons and they usually turn into hunters, like the one that killed his father.
As Danny and Logan become closer and Malcolm is putting the pressure on Danny of more than just being her boss, things start to heat up. Can Danielle trust him to help with the legal problems on the ranch without jeopardizing her job? And how can Logan and Danny be together when they are so far apart?

This was an amazing book! There are secrets all over the place. Danny is a new attorney at a law firm trying to work her way up the corporate ladder. She works hard and gives 110%. She unfortunately has a boss that merely sees her as a woman - one that he wants.
Logan is Danny’s parents neighbors and they do not have a great relationship. Danny’s parents and Logan’s parents basically compete for business. When Danny is called home for some help in her area of expertise, Logan wastes no time introducing himself, even though he’s been warned away from Danny.
Once Logan meets Danny, he realizes that she is his mate. Danny’s focus is on her parents ranch and saving it. Realizing that she is in over her head, Danny is forced to call Malcolm, her boss, for help.
That is where everything gets even MORE interesting! What will become of Logan and Danny now that Malcolm has made an appearance. Will everyone be able to keep them apart? Are they destined to be fated mates that do not get to be together? So many questions - with so many answers!.

Logan is one of the last four brothers that is not wed. Seeing his two older siblings married and happy, while sowing his rancher oats at a horse auction, appears to be all he needs to get through life.
Once back at the ranch, Finish, the mom, tells her son's that the competitor's daughter is coming back for her family's rodeo, and, in no uncertain terms, lays down the law. No one from the family is to associate with the Thomas's and/or sniff around the daughter under any circumstances.
Danielle Thomas is a fairly new graduated lawyer who is being hit on by her obnoxious boss, Malcolm,
who refuses to take no for an answer.He could be compared to a stalker.
The author tackles multiple situations at the same time with a masterful skill by creating a story well-written, well-researched,and keeps the reader glued to the book from the start and with continuous action, mystery, hidden truths revealed, family drama, conspiracy, and false representations without forgetting love, make this book a 5 Stars rated page -turner

I enjoyed this book and the characters that needs to work together to save both there futures. Danielle Thomas is a Real Estate attorney and her big boss Malcolm has the hots for her but she turns him down every time but now she needs his help after her father Ernie called to say the government wants to put in a highway in the middle of there Steffonati Ranch and with Malcolm’s help he investigates to try and stop this from going through. Logan Hale and his family own the competitive Ranch and has been told by his mother to stay away from Ernie’s daughter Danielle and he likes his life as it is but seeing Danielle again he knows she is his mate and he will everything he can to help her but this guy Malcolm that’s hanging around makes his dragon want to get rid of him because he’s up to no good. Now that they are seeing each other it’s hard to keep it a secret and there lives separate. How does it all turn out with everyone involved and can they save her fathers ranch or not and what is Malcolm part in this all. Great read

Logan and Danielle are the son and daughter of owners of two ranches that run Dude Ranches. For an unknown reason, Logan's mother doesn't want her children associating with Danielle's family. The state wants most of Danielle's family's ranch and is trying to use eminent domain as a way to get it. Danielle works for attorneys in Denver and asks her boss Malcolm for advice. Malcolm shows up at the ranch instead of calling. He meets Logan who realizes Malcolm knows Logan is a dragon. He tells Logan that when he wants him he will have to obey him. Logan has realized Danielle is his mate and sees her unknown to his mother. Things get worse and Logan's sister is kidnapped. Logan goes hunting Malcolm and is caught as well. Danielle goes to the rescue, learning Logan's family are dragons. Can they stop Malcolm's plans and prevent the state from taking the ranch? Will Logan's mother finally reveal why she didn't want them to fall in love? Good book.

Danielle is working at a firm trying to move up and make a name for herself. She gets a call from her dad about their family property, and she goes to see what she can do to help. When she assesses the problem with the property she knows its more than she can handle on her own and calls her boss for help. Logan's family's ranch is a competitor to Danielle's. However, he goes over to talk to her when he learns that she is in town. Its not long for him to notice that she's his mate. Will asking her boss for help be a mistake? Will she find something more than she expected with Logan?
This is a great story that will draw you in from the first chapter on. This is a well written and very entertaining story. This is a book any book lover would enjoy.

So she naturally tries to dissuade Malcom (a senior partner in the firm she is working for), when he seems intent on pursuing her. Unfortunately Danielle's father is running into some legal troubles and he needs her help, can she help him? She meets Logan, the son of her family's biggest competitor and sparks fly. Will it work out for them? I loved the romance/steam, danger, drama and dragons (of course), both Danielle and Logan were easy to like.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading the story about Logan Hale and Danielle Thomas. Logan was forbidden by his mother to even think about going near Danielle who lived in the farm next door. But what Vinia didn’t tell him was that Danielle‘s boss was a dragon hunter. You’ll be hanging onto the edge of your seat wondering what was going to happen next. There are sexy times between Logan and Danielle and danger and intrigue. I couldn’t put the book down it was that good.

Danielle Thomas is a junior lawyer for a real estate law firm in Denver which is about two hours from her family ranch in Manitou Springs. Her boss Malcolm McQuaig is constantly asking her to go out with him and she equally constantly tells him no, she will not date her boss. Danielle goes home early for the rodeo weekend when she finds out the state is attempting to take most of the ranch for eminent domain. This story contains action, romance, and steam, ending in a HEA. Very highly recommended.

What can b said Great story
I have just recently become an arc reader for Alicia Banks. I've read plenty of her books b4 this one, which is why I wanted 2 b an arc reader. This storyline was great definitely different, almost like a Romeo & Juliet but so much better with a different villain than u expected. Again I've given my opinion freely. In the book shelves as I'll read again!

The author has taken us back to spend time with the Hale Family and pull us into the lives of Logan Hale and his forbidden neighbor, Danielle. The story keeps us turning the pages with forbidden fruit, secrets, suspense, danger and steam.

This is the first I have read in the series. I reads well as a standalone, complete with a HEA. Dani has know idea dragons exist. I have to say, she handled it pretty well. Logan could not fight his attraction to Dani, despite his mothers warning. A great romance full of surprises. I received an advanced copy and this is my honest opinion.

This story has it all, secrets, misunderstandings, bad guys and good one of course. Alicia put in words this great story with a few twists that you won’t see coming. You will fall in love with all the characters specially Logan and Danny, I highly recommended it.

Great read
Lots of interesting characters in this one. Two kinds of ranches, two completely different kinds of families. Evil working in the background, more than I originally thought. I loved the animal rescue houses at Danielle's ranch. A lot more than just the two main characters, and how they fall in love. Great ending.

A great book
This book was so good I read it in one sitting. I actually couldn’t put it down. Trying to figure out who was the bad guy and why there was so much going on. If you like love a little mystery and dragons you will love this book

The mystery stumped me. The supporting characters were very compelling and supportive. Danny and Logan were perfect for each other, of course with fate taking a part, how could they not be, even with evil chasing them.

A dragon shifter can find a fated mate even if he's not actively looking for one. This fast-paced story was filled with deception, manipulation, and greed. It's a good thing there was plenty of romance to carry Danny and Logan through the rough spots. Good Read!!!!
