This introductory biblical survey of last events is a complete and compact reference volume to the future events of the world and an excellent introduction to the study of eschatology for school, church, or personal use. Leon Wood has paid close attention of the organized structuring of the content, presenting the key concepts and establishing the importance of prophetic study, as well as a detailed and chronological list of eschatological events, and a complete definition of terminology. In the remaining chapters, the author considers each of the major eschatological events of the Bible separately, The Bible and Future Events is an enhanced study with a thorough, up-to-date bibliography and informative footnotes.
4.5 stars; this book by Leon Wood is a great basic coverage of end times. He covers everything from the rapture, to the tribulation, to the Millennium. The only reason I would deduct half of a star would be for a large amount of time spent focusing on relating the two witnesses to Moses, Elijah, and Enoch (of course it can only be two of those). Then, after spending a large amount of time postulating which two are the two witnesses, stating that since the names are not given to us in the context of Revelation it may simply be best to understand these witnesses as not historical figures at all. The same sort of thing is done in regard to “the king of the north” and other relating a of the book of Revelation to present day countries, Kong’s, historical civilizations, etc. I am not staying I disagree entirely with this endeavor, but that I do believe an inordinate amount of time was given to this exploration. Overall, highly recommend and generally in agreement with Wood’s positions.
