The first collection of cartoons from the "knife-eyed maniac". Irreverent, original, and always hilarious, Callahan's cartoons are sure to delight and offend. His cartoons have been published in Omni, Harper's, National Lampoon, and other publications.

Callahan's shaky lines are evocative, and his jokes are just three kinds of sick.

This was Callahan's first collection, the collection that let the world know that this was one sick and funny gimp who processed his life and the society around him through his cartoons in ways that were fresh, funny, bold, daring, and often completely unhinged. Could he be offensive? Some would say "Yes!," but if you knew his life story you knew he'd earned that right.

When I first checked out this collection, I felt like I'd discovered a kindred spirit in the arts. This continues to be a collection I check out from time to time when I need to be reminded that it's okay to be honest, daring, and to challenge stereotypes.

I realize that a lot of the dark humor in Callahan's books are fueled by his own struggles with physical challenges, and to that, yes, I have major admiration. I'm not convinced, however, that his mocking of people who have mental/emotional challenges is appropriate. Surely he knew that people with mental illnesses, or severe obesity, or other issues were very vulnerable and deserving of kindness? I do think he goes too far, even if his intent was an attempt at solidarity.

Speaking for myself. Yes, I felt that he was punching down at me. He was a unique and courageous talent, and that's not enough for me to keep this book in my library.

Subversive, shocking and confronting. Callahan has achieved all three with this small book of his cartoons. Most people will find something offensive in this collection and provided you're not too prudish you will even get a laugh or two out of some of the panels. It's not Monty Python in print, but it's absurdly close.

I just read Do Not Disturb Any Further (1990) by John Callahan.

It’s hard to decide but this might be my favorite collection of John Callahan comics (at least in the top five?).

If you have an appreciation for foul, poorly drawn comics (like myself) then this is a must. I’m personally obsessed with Callahan. I give it 9 stars out of 10.
