Prolific author of animals stories for younger children, in particular dog and cat stories. As well as a Puppy Tales and Kitten Tales series she has written the Pony Tales series of pony books.
There is some speculation that the author does not actually exist but is a psuedonym for another author or authors. One author mentioned as writing under the name of Jenny Dale is Liss Norton, who incidentally is also said to be one of the ghostwriters for the Lucy Daniels Animal Ark series.
I was a child when I read this so I don't quite remember the story, but I do remember the feelings this book provoked and the fondness, hope, and sadness I had for Sam. To remember at least the feelings I had towards this book after all these years, shows that it's well worth the read.
I remember almost nothing about this book except that 21 years ago I stayed up until 2am reading it and profusely crying over the story until my dad yelled at me for not being asleep 😂 this book has been in the back of my mind for all these years so it must be a good book!
I liked it but its horribly sad for the entire book. I wish we did find out whether or not the dangerous dog in the beginning was put down or something. I am glad neil found out what he was on a quest to learn about sam.
This book broke my heart when I first read it. Me and my mum cried so much. It breaks my heart every time I read it. But I can't deny that it's a truly excellent read.
