Mystery and lust -- what a wild combination! Melissa Rogers, restless good girl, longs to indulge her sexual fantasies before she meets Mr. Right and settles down. But instead she gets a walk on the really wild side, thanks to the uninhibited neighbor who skips town, leaving Melissa to take her place. Riley Anderson, brilliant private investigator and every woman's fantasy, is assigned to seduce a female suspect. But Melissa Rogers doesn't fit the profile of the woman he's after. This woman makes him long for things he didn't even know he wanted. Will it be pure eroticism, or forever-after commitment?
Isabel Sharpe began writing in 1994 after leaving her job to raise her son. A former “bored housewife,” she has authored over twenty Harlequin novels and now writes women-focused fiction for Avon/HarperCollins, embracing her unexpected career.
A Pleasurable And Wild Read With Unexpected Bonus Features
Isabel Sharpe is one of my favourite authors for steamy and fun romances, as her writing holds such intelligence and wit. The Wild Side, Harlequin Blaze #11 had all the right plot points and premise setting. Plus, it had a bonus love story that flowed simultaneously with the main one! A total treat, but the ending ruined it for me...

This book had a lot of movement and story lines to cover. The book was jam-packed with emotional turmoil, suspense, some action scenes, and hilarious moments. It was handled with such precision, details, and fun. Also, I had never encountered two stories that were so different depicted in a Harlequin Blaze book before, so it was such a plus point. The sexy and physical scenes were innovative and extremely enjoyable too.
However, at the end, the authoress seemed to have lost some of her fascination and admiration of both her female characters. The end was wrapped up so quickly, that my head spun. In addition, not practicing safe sex for a series, that is about the spicy and steamy, didn't jive with me.
If you are looking for an in depth read from the early 2000s that has more substance than the usual romance in terms of a mystery, some banter, slight skirmishes, and entertaining characters, you might like this read from the early era of the Harlequin Blaze Series.
The story started out pretty good and had a decent plot including a couple romances but halfway in it got heavy with thoughts, people second guessing themselves so my rating 3.5* Good girl Melissa wants a hot fling and inadvertently gets setup with PI Riley.
