Their world is crumbling. America has changed. Gone are the freedoms, the justice, and the decent behavior once so common. With moral decay ruling the day, a 'Remnant' arises—everyday men and women, whose aim is to turn things back.
In Book One of the Revival Team Series, we meet Alpha The Clerics of the Light. Their mission? To take on a corrupt conman and false prophet who has taken over a church in Little Rock, Arkansas. His only aim is to line his pockets and revel in his sense of power. The Clerics of the Light run across this perversion but not by chance. God, in His providence, has called them. But heeding the call, ‘for such a time as this’ can be very dangerous… even life threatening.
With alliances forming and unexpected enemies on the scene, can this grass roots movement of modern day missionaries actually make a difference—should they even try?
Yes- they will try. They do it for God... They do it for country... They do it for all that is Right and Holy ...but can they succeed?

I write Christian Faith and Adventure Fiction, and I do it clean.
Not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved ~ (tipping my hat to John 3:17).
So never mind that I am a persona. I’d dare say that some of your favorite people are ‘less-than-real.’ Characters in a story … Author pen names … your dream man or dream woman … and even your secret self.
So come on along. The air is clean here, the lighting is good, and you’re going to like what you find.

But why the Persona? As a Christian Author, I became aware - early on - that I had a 'propensity towards pride' (try saying that three times fast). :)
So in order to remain true to my commitment to the Lord, and His will, I decided that it might be better if I didn't plaster my picture, or my name, all across social media (and honestly, I don't take good pictures, anyway).
There are images of us everywhere in our world today and I simply wanted to portray less of 'me' and more of 'Him.'
So now you know. I'm not 'hiding' ... I'm just 'abiding.' And I hope you see that commitment reflected in my work.
I'm not good at reviews because I don't want to give anything away. But here goes...... I loved the characters and the storyline is very realistic to the extent that this is something that could very well happen to our country. It kept me engaged enough to finish it in a day and the ending...... well let's say I can't wait for book 2. This is starting out to be a great series.
I’m not usually a fan of apocalyptical books, but this one blew me away! Good vs. evil in the year 2050, a glimpse into what the future may or may not hold, kept me entertained and wanting more – I can’t wait until the next installment of the Revival Team Series comes out.
What a trove of very interesting characters throughout this book, Presidents, Governors, pastors, and egocentric pseudo-pastor who I found sickeningly hilarious. But I loved the band of Christians, each with their own unique gifts with the sole mission of bringing God back to a country in desperate need of Him. This book is action-packed and will keep you up reading!
I received a copy of this book from the author and was under no obligation to write a positive review.
Clerics of the Light - Alpha Team was a quick and engaging read. Walking alongside a team dedicated to spreading the gospel message in a dystopian future causes you to think of your own responsibility in sharing the gospel in the face of evil and how we might slow down or even stop the cultural decay all around us. I thought the imagined future of this country pushed a bit past the bounds of probability but it was still a fun read and I look forward to the sequel.
This is an entertaining, clean, dystopian novel. The novel is suitable for adults, teens, or pre-teens.
The story takes place in the 2050s. Moral decay is rampant and the government of the United States is crumbling. The state of Texas rescinds the state’s original annexation to the United States from 1845 and declares itself a sovereign nation. The middle section of the US from Oklahoma north to Canada is occupied by conservatives who refuse to accept the changes that led to the collapse of the US government. The area is called the Badlands by the government. But the Badlands and Texas are more civilized than the remainder of the US where most local governments are run by corrupt officials. Since the US government’s military is substandard, they decline to use military force to bring Texas and the Badlands back into the fold. Travel outside of Texas and the Badlands is dangerous.
The Clerics of the Light is a revival team. The eclectic group of five each possess different gifts—Spiritual or technical—which are useful in answering God’s call. Many churches in what is left under US control have been taken over by profiteering charlatans. God leads the Clerics to various churches throughout the US in need of the true gospel. The Clerics are led to an Arkansas church. The false minister who controls the church is not about to allow some preachers of the gospel upset his cash cow. The Clerics had better watch their backs.
Having lived in Texas and Oklahoma most of my life, I did not have to stretch my imagination much to believe Texas and Oklahoma could declare their independence under the proper circumstances such as presented in the novel. I would have liked if the author had given the Cleric’s some internal struggle. Maybe one or two of them would have trouble accepting God’s lead related to something they had dealt with in the past. This would have given the character/s an opportunity for spiritual and personal growth. Even so, it was an entertaining story. I plan to read the next book in the series. ~ Angela L Gold, author of The Lion Within
Christians as persecuted minority in future America
A very imaginative book with big themes but a cast of unique characters. Series start. My problem is not being familiar with American history, geography and slang I struggled to follow what was happening as no idea about the locations, distances or politics. Kept a map handy. Suitable to American readers. I am guessing the adventures and political machinations get more complex as series proceeds.
I read the prequel “Dawning Lights” which was very good. “Clerics of the Light” is very good too. It’s about a small group of missionaries taking the word of Jesus Christ with them. This is after the Decline of the United States and takes place in an area called the Badlands. There are rogue bandits and false missionaries. A hard read as it deals with what could happen to the United States. But worth reading and contains hope.
Christians in the future? I don’t usually think that way, unless it involves the Rapture, but I took a chance on something different and was not disappointed… Interesting storyline, good character development and it’s blended with scripture. That makes for a great combination. I’m just going to continue with the series to see how it all plays out…
Clerics of the Light is a wonderful faith- based story with interesting characters and entertaining storyline. I love the emphasis on Texas since I live there but, even if you’re not that blessed, I still think you’ll enjoy the surprises inside the book covers. Now, I’m off to get book 2.
A very enjoyable read. Very believable, strong characters, and story line that keeps your interest. You know from the start that this is a Christian based story, and that God is at the very center.
Needless to say I love anything that involves Texas and God. Sad to think our country might come to this, but very possible. Very enjoyable reading. Love all the characters and the way the action flows. Highly recommend it.
Very interesting to read. If has action, thrill, danger, peace, protection, facades and the revealing of those facades. It has a good Christian base to it in living in future times and how things can be in the later days. Good book.
