Remington Kane is an American author that writes action-packed thrillers. The author might be unfamiliar to some people because Remington Kane is actually a pseudonym for Donald Wells.
Donald Wells has garnered a reputation for writing darker and somewhat serious novels about killers. The author was born in New Jersey. He never really left and has since made a home there. Like most of his peers, Donald Wells was an avid reader as a child.
He spent many an hour devouring every book he came across. And it wasn’t long before he began to yearn for the chance to write. Like many aspiring authors, Donald Wells knew he had the capacity to tell stories. However, he was a little hesitant to venture into such uncharted waters, not only because he didn’t know where to start with regards to writing a book but also because he didn’t have confidence in his own ability to produce compelling fiction.
Again, like most notable authors, Donald meandered about for a while. Rather than going into publishing the first chance he got, Donald tried his hand at various odd jobs. He worked as an insurance salesman, a Real Estate Sales person, and even a Retail manager.
The jobs, though seemingly meaningless in the grand scheme of things, did wonders for the author’s writing capabilities. Whether he was driving trucks or cleaning floors, Donald gained insight into the workings of the world.
He met unexpected people and heard their intriguing stories. He came across numerous strange encounters and even participated in some of them. He essentially dipped into so many unique aspects of life that it came as no surprise that he had more than enough stories rattling around his head when it finally came time to write his first novel.
Not that many authors can claim to have been offered a chance to act as bodyguard to a drug dealer. Since getting his first book sold, though, Donald has finally settled in his career. The author loves writing novels and there is nothing he else he would rather be doing. The fact that he has found a way to make money out of his passion makes him one of the luckier individuals in the world.
By the time Donald Wells began writing as Remington Kane, he had already become established as a novelist with numerous thrillers under his name. However, writing as Remington practically took over his life.
This is because Donald has achieved more success writing as Remington Kane than he did producing novels under his real name. Kane is best known for the Tanner series of novels. Tanner is a hit man who accepts a job to take out a mob boss.
When he is betrayed and thrown into prison, Tanner thinks of little else besides getting revenge. And once he finally gets his freedom, the hit man becomes a one man army, engaging in a brutal way against a crime organization known as the Conglomerate.
Each new book sees Tanner raising the stakes by finding a new target that will sting the Conglomerate in ways they couldn’t possibly fathom.
Remington Kane has been praised for the Tanner novels because Tanner is such a refreshing hero. The protagonist is so average physically, devoid of the exaggerated traits that most action heroes seem to bear. If not for his natural fighting and survival instincts, one would be hard pressed to tell Tanner apart from any other ordinary man on the street.
Once again we’re entertained with nonstop action as Tanner and his protege, Henry travel to Maine to fulfill a contract. The bad guy, a human trafficker, hides on a private island, protected by his loyal bodyguard and a devoted crew. With an open contract on his head, various assassins have attempted to eliminate him only to be killed themselves. When one attempt fails, the would-be assassin barely escapes (with help from Tanner), and provides our hero with important information. With help from a variety of friends and several adjustments to plans, Tanner battles the bad guys and even the weather to carry out his contract.
Another great Tanner story that once you start you don't want to stop until the end. Tanner and Henry, whom he is training, want to fulfill a contract against a human trafficker. Nothing goes as planned, many roadblocks in the way, and other assassins trying for the kill also. Can Tanner and Henry fulfill the contract? Will they both survive? The author comes up with such inventive ways that Tanner uses to fulfill his contracts that I am always amazed with the new ways in each story. Definitely recommend this new Tanner story.
I eagerly wait in anticipation for the next Tanner story to come out. I keep checking for the next one quite often. If you've never read one of Remington Kane's books you are truly missing out. When I'm reading one of his books I latterly can not put it down until I've finished it. These stories are packed with non stop action from the very beginning. Once I've finished it, I hate that I have to wait for his next one to come out. You're really missing out on a terrific series if you're not reading all about Tanner and Henry.
Whenever you get a story on Tanner in this series you can just imagine how good its going to be. The writer doesn't disappoint, and gives on of the best stories in the series. I think this was one of the best in the series or at least in the top ten. I love the relationship he has with Henry and the way they play off of each other. Also we get a more human look at Tanner and a more down to earth instead of more of the legend. This was good solid writing, with all the elements of a really good story.
The saying is if it could go wrong, it will go wrong does go wrong for Tanner. This is the most challenging contract for Tanner and Henry what turns into one man being focused on becomes many more and the story builds as it goes, and the birth of another assassincomes to light before Tanner is able to complete his contract but oh my this has turned into quite a project and Tanner hast to face storms, thunder, flooding, waters lightning and you’ll never believe what happens.
Tanner is on a contract to kill a traffic of women and takes Henry with him . Henry is sent to kill another man involved and returns to help Tanner but things don't go as planned . I was holding my breath toward the end ! not going to say more but you won't want to put this down until the end !! Always a great read phew can breath now !! These books are just as good as from book 1 Great Author .
Once you've read an entire series, awaiting the arrival of a new episode is miserable. Once you've read all the series which intertwine, the wait is interminable. It was worth it a classic Tanned novel without padding with minimal historical explanations as if written for existing fans who have need of reminders. Excellent. Good job. Now, what's next?
Still has the signature tanner against the world and tanner always wins. Now we have henry, a 1/2 to 3/4 tanner, with the same style. Wonder when echo reappears? If you made it past the first 46 books you will be happy with this book. But the syntax is definitely different and the book is strictly action and nothing else.
That was a well written. book and chock full of adventure. It is the kind of book I enjoy reading. Tanner and Henry worked very well together as a result they accomplished their goal. Echo was a nice touch added into the mix as well. I am sure we will read more about her in future Tanner books.
I eagerly await every new Tanner book & have devoured them all. In For The Kill was an absolute pleasure but ended much too quickly. Now I'll have 2 wait a whole month 2 get my next Tanner fix.
Remington Kane not only back to his best writing, but he exceeded any of his previous great books. This is action at its best. Love that Henry is now making his mark! I look forward to a Tanner Eight book series.
