This is a nice collection of Monet’s work from his early still life's to the final water lily collection. The book begins with a brief narrative of Monet’s life and explanations of the paintings that follow. This book is a quick read and perfect if you want a basic overview of Monet and his art. I love Monet’s appreciation for nature. My favorite passage explains that students of Monet “were instructed to go direct to Nature, to transcribe their own observations, and if they were not satisfied to give up being artists.”
