So, this year I'm on my own...cooking a real, proper Thanksgiving for my boyfriend and am sort of freaking out. So, I decided to do as much research as possible, digging through foodie sites and I picked up a couple cookbooks as well. Thanksgiving was okay. The pictures were beautiful, though the recipes weren't quite my style. I'm more of a classic Thanksgiving gal. It really was entertaining to look through and it did have some good step by step tips, which included pictures, on how to lattice top a pie and how to carve a turkey properly. But overall I think I found better tips online, in other books, and of course from my mom :) .

This is a nice detailed cookbook to show you how to prepare an interesting Thanksgiving feast. Although I would be prone to using traditional recipes for this holiday, I may try many of these for alternate occasions.

Since I was making my first turkey this year, I needed guidance. Found advice along with some good recipes for Popovers, Golden Mashed Potatoes with Leeks & Sour Cream, and Steamed Cranberry Pudding. Didn't particularly like the Cranberry Sauce made with Apple Cider & Cinammon.
