Catherine is the creator of several series, most of them paranormal, including the Whitedell Pride Series and the Gillham Pack Series. While she graduated in translation, she decided to go the writer’s way because it was more fun to create her own stories and characters.
She’s been living in Italy for more than twenty years, but she’s a daughter of the North—Belgium to be precise—and she misses it so much that she’s already planning to move back.
She loves pizza—probably too much —her pets, and of course, books. She sneaks some reading time in her schedule every time she has five minutes free from writing, demands from her various pets and son, and lastly, housework.

Still such an addictive series.

-----------

This review will be short.

I liked it. It has shifters. There is hurt/comfort. There is biting. There is growling. Everyone is happy. The end.

This was book 6 in the "Whitedell Pride" series. Oliver was a human when he was kidnapped by the Glass Company we first met him in book one of the series when him Jaime and Finn escaped the lab. They put bear DNA inside of him and for the past 6 months he has been getting sicker and sicker. Sebastian is a lion shifter who is also his mate and he has been watching his mate get sicker and he fears that he is going to die even before they mate. This was a really good book and I felt bad for Oliver he spent over a year in the lab with all these things happening to him and when he is freed he couldn't enjoy it because of when they did to him. Denver and Sebastian find the doctor who did this to him only to find out that the doctor Adrian was forced to alter his DNA because they kidnapped his brother he thought that the people volunteered to be there but when he found out he had couldn't. Adrian gives Jared the serum to give to Oliver every month and he starts getting better. When these two finally mate and have sex it was funny because right after Oliver shifts for the first time and he is a huge bear that he named Yogi. I also liked that Dominic is trying to get the other shifter to come together and its hard he ask Sebastian and Oliver to talk to some of the Alphas and the visit his birth pride where Oliver meets Sebastian's father and brother Taylor who is gay and wants to leave his pride because of his father and when his father tries to attack Sebastian Yogi comes out to play. I was so glad that Oliver got well and was able to get his happy life. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book Dominic and Ani.

Whitedell Pride 6

What matters is not what you are, but who you are.

Oliver is human, or at least he was until the Glass Research Company kidnapped him and experimented on him. Now he has a bear sharing his mind, but he’s not able to shift, and he’s confused. Is he a shifter, or a human? What’s worse, he’s getting sicker every day, and no one seems to know how to help him. He can’t even bond with his mate because he doesn’t want Sebastian to hurt if something happens to him.
Sebastian wants his mate to be cured, and the only way to do that is to go to New York and kidnap one of the company’s scientists. With the help of his pride brothers, he manages to do just that, but having Oliver cured doesn’t mean all their problems are over.
Oliver will have to deal with learning how to shift and trying to convince Sebastian that he’s fine and that he can be claimed, but once he manages to do that, other problems arise. Will the two lovers finally have the time to just be together, or will the pressure push them apart?

Summary:

Society is presently dealing with the possibility implication that genetic manipulation have and the consequences that could happen. The idea of the horrors that Oliver endured at the hands of the scientists when they attempted to change him into a shifter were unimaginable. The weeks isolation where he lived in pain was terrible and even with all that when he found out that Sebastian was his mate he tried to get better. Sebastian managed to locate Adrian, one on the scientist who worked on him, they soon realized that he only worked for them to protect his brother. As Oliver begins to improve, the Whitedell Pride get their first real break in uncovering the real scope of the Glass Research Companies actives, but will they be in time? The growing feelings between Sebastian and Oliver and the strength of all the other members of the pride will be tested as the fight for survival is about to begin!

Series wise, this book swings us back towards the scientists and the labs as the pride scrambles to find a cure for Oliver and we are introduced to a couple more shifter groups including another pride of lions and also some elks.

Joshua, one of the series’ regulars discovers that one of the “not so evil” scientists is his mate and does not react well at all! That sounds like it’ll make for an interesting story.

But the most important news? My Keenan has met his mate! Whether Jonah is good enough for him remains to be seen, can’t say I’m impressed so far.

Four and a half stars!
This series is so good. I love that each book has an underlying storyline that continues from one to the next. It connects the world created This book had so much more in that storyline. I so want to see the bad guys taken down and the labs dismantled. I loved getting a deeper look at Keenan in this one as well. I’m glad Oliver was healed. He continuously broke my heart until now with how sick and broken he was. Sebastian is perfect for Oliver. He’s caring and truly wants what’s best for his mate. They handled the obstacles put in front of them so well. I’m eager for the next books in the series. So many guys I want to see have a HEA.

This book was awesome! It started out a little slow for me, but it wasn'T too long before I was completely engaged. Great characters. Traditionally, I'M not a big fan of shifters, but not only were the MCS so compelling, the secondary characters were interesting enough that I wanted to learn more about them. Maybe even enough to buy the other books in a shifter series. Who'd of thought that could happen?

While I did read this out of order, it was perfectly able to hold it's own as a separate entity. Highly recommended. Whether your into Shifters or not, this is just a great book.

For readers of Catherine Lievens' Whitedell Pride series, Oliver is a story we have been waiting for since book one. Oliver is a human turned lab experiment turned failed bear shifter. He has been living with the Whitedell Pride since he was rescued from the evil scientists alongside Jamie and Finn.

My favorite in the series, definitely! I'm so glad that Oliver finally got his story, and I really loved this from start to finish. Sebastian was great for him, and I really like how there is characterization, a relationship rather than insta-love mates type of thing, and how it answers some questions while bringing up new ones. One of my favorite shifter series going on right now for sure.
