Psychopathology: An Integrative Approach to Mental Disorders

Rate this book

I'm fucking begging that whoever wrote the section on eating disorders actually have an ed specialist or someone with an ed to read this and edit the wording used because what the fuck?? Here are some examples of the awful things written:

1. talks about the successfulness of induced vomiting in terms of how many calories it eliminates
2. says people who are anorexic are "so successful at losing weight"
3. regarding an anorexic teenager: "you could see that she had once been attractive"

Honestly the book was okay until this point but this chapter has turned the entire book into a dumpster fire and I'm disgusted! Psychologists - do better !

Good text to use in teaching a class on the topic. Content is shared in an approachable way and is easy to read without getting lost. Helpful empirical info to go with clinical descriptions, etiology, and treatment considerations.
