From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Catherine Bybee comes a romance about childhood friends who marry in Vegas and embark on a wild ride to find their happily ever after.
With two protective older brothers and a traditional Catholic Italian mother, it’s surprising that Chloe D’Angelo can manage a date without someone in the family naysaying her romantic choice. And Dante Mancuso…oh, no. Her brother’s best friend is not a dating-app right swipe.
But when they are left unsupervised on a late night in Vegas, all of that changes. Add in a Vegas wedding chapel and a couple of “I dos” and Chloe wakes up with a ring on her finger and a hangover. Dating Dante was always a secret desire, but marriage? The rift that this news would cause in her family has the both of them keeping their nuptials to themselves as they scramble to undo their Vegas mistake.
Dante knew the rules: Chloe was off limits. Only he can’t stop once his mind starts to believe she might be his forever. Just as their attraction deepens, Chloe flees to Bali, desperate to clear her head.
All Dante has to do is keep her brothers from killing him and convince her that they are meant for each other. But first, Dante has to find her.

She now writes full-time and has penned the International Bestselling Not Quite series, the MacCoinnich Time Travel series as well as the Internationally Bestselling Weekday Brides series.
Her books have been translated in over twenty languages.
BE YOUR EVERYTHING (The D’Angelos Book #2) by Catherine Bybee is another wonderful contemporary romance about members of the D’Angelo family who are a traditional Italian family. This story features Chloe who is the baby of the family and her brother’s best-friend, Dante. While this is the second book in the series, you can easily read it as a standalone, but you will love this family so much, I know you will want to go back and read the first book When It Falls Apart.
Chloe D’Angelo loves working at her family’s restaurant, but she has bigger dreams. Her dream trip to Bali must wait until after her oldest brother’s wedding. The entire bridal party is off for a Las Vegas weekend to celebrate before the wedding. Chloe has always had a crush on her middle brother’s best friend and now in Vegas, she is ready to show Dante what he has been missing by avoiding her as they grew up together.
Dante Mancuso is like a third brother to the D’Angelo brothers. While growing up, he was known as a player, and he has kept the reputation even as he works in Italy and only returns to visit his family and the D’Angelo’s. Now, home for the wedding and looking to set up a branch of his business at home, Dante is finding Chloe difficult to resist even as he knows he is breaking the brothers’ code of not dating their sister.
But crazy things happen in Las Vegas and Dante goes all in and he and Chloe run into a Vegas wedding chapel. The next morning, they know they are going to cause family upheaval, so they decide to keep the marriage a secret. As their attraction grows, Chloe flees to Bali and Dante is going to have to prove to her they are meant to be together.
I loved this story and the entire series to-date is entertaining and fun. I lived in an Italian neighborhood for many years and the traditions and family bonds are very accurately portrayed in this series. From the nonnas keeping an eye on everyone and the close-knit families and Sunday mass, these stories take me back to this neighborhood. Chloe and Dante are fully drawn characters and their relationship is believable and the sex scenes were not gratuitous. All the characters are realistic and make me want to be a member of their family and community. This book has everything I am looking for in a contemporary romance and I did not want it to end.
I highly recommend this contemporary romance, this series, and this author!
This is what happens when I'm not properly supervised. I request books from NetGalley I have no good reason for requesting! Romance. Second book in a series and I haven't read the first by an author I haven't read before. Now, I'll just have to read it. I do have to admit that this romance with the best friend's sister and a lost weekend ending in a Las Vegas wedding sounded like a fun read. This is a delightful, funny, no angst romance with a hero and heroine that just stole my heart.
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, right? Well, no, not if you get drunk and marry your best friend's sister. Now what happens when these two sober up and have to face their families? They lie, of course. While Dante Mancuso and Chloe D’Angelo try to figure out just what to do about their marriage, they plan to keep that marriage a secret.
Chloe says she wants a quick annulment and to forget it ever happened, but this is Dante the boy she has crushed on since she realized boys weren't yucky. But she also knows that Dante is a player. Love 'em and leave 'em and don't look back. Dante is heartbreak on the hoof and Chloe would rather not have her heart in a million pieces so after one passion filled night she bolts to Bali and plans to stay there till Dante goes home to Italy.
Dante is not sure what came over him in Las Vegas, but, after a lot of thought, he is convinced that marrying Chloe, while rash, was not the huge mistake She thinks it is. After their night together he wants to see where a real relationship can go. Now he just needs to woo Chloe and convince her to give them a chance. Except, she has flown halfway around the earth to get away from him. What's a guy to do? It's time for a Grand Gesture and Dante is on his way to Bali to woo the fair Chloe. Let's hope he gets the job done before her brothers catch up with him and break every bone in his body.
My thanks to the Publisher, and author, for providing a complimentary digital Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this novel via NetGalley. This is my fair, honest and personal review. All opinions are mine alone and were not biased in any way.
Chloe has had a crush on Dante since she learned that boys weren’t gross. Her infatuation with him made this story all the cuter as she’s determined to prove she is not attracted to him. Of course, we all know how that works out. I’m a huge fan of the drunken Vegas wedding trope and Chloe and Dante did theirs in a way that was highly unusual after the fact.
I loved both of these characters. They were fun and flirty although a bit insecure about where they stood with each other. Chloe more so than Dante. This had some of the usual bumps that are found in this trope, so nothing surprising here but the way they went about it and the influence their friends and family had on the outcome was what drove this story.
This isn’t overtly steamy but rather a gentle slide into a forever love. Can’t wait to get the next D’Angelo…Gio?
BE YOUR EVERYTHING is the second book in the D’Angelo series! Talk about an awesome family! They always have each other’s backs no matter what is going on within the family. Seriously, I want this family to adopt me! Chloe D’Angelo loves her family and loves working in the family restaurant. But she also has a dream of going to Bali, but that is going to have to wait as her older brother is getting married and no way she can miss that!
BE YOUR EVERYTHING has the entire wedding party in Vegas and Chloe finds herself in the close proximity of Dante Mancuso. She can deny her feelings for him all she wants, but she is only fooling herself. Dante knows Chloe is off limits, but he can’t seem to help himself in Vegas. They wind up drunk and together and walking in to a Vegas wedding chapel! What?? Chloe can’t believe what they have done and runs away(after her brother’s wedding of course) to Bali to try and get a grip on her life. Boy does that girl have some thinking to do! How is she ever going to explain what happened to her family?
Once their families find out, the real fun begins. They beg their families to stay out of it and let them handle things on their own, but if you have or know an Italian mother, you know how this goes while reading BE YOUR EVERYTHING. Will Dante have the chance to show Chloe that they were meant to be? I don’t want to say too much for fear of giving away all of BE YOUR EVERYTHING but once I started reading this beautiful and heart breaking story, I could not stop! I am so excited to read the next book and fall more in love with the D’Angelos. Their family is going to worm their way into your heart and never leave. A perfect heartfelt and wonderful story to spend the afternoon with!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Chloe has been in love with her older brother's best friend her whole life. And now he's back in town for her brother's bachelor weekend in Vegas. Suddenly it seems that Dante is interested in Chloe too. He obviously has always been interested, but your buddy's little sister is off limits! But today a lot of alcohol is involved. And we might wake up with rings on our fingers in the morning. Someone got married! And it's not Brooke and Luca - who are supposed to be the groom + bride!
Let the fun times begin...
═════════════════
Another adorable love story in this sweet series. I just love this whole non-mafia Italian family vibe. It's all love and food and protecting your little sister! LOL! Poor Dante never dared to go there - but he always wanted to. And poor Chloe. She's finally halfway over him and about to travel to Bali to find herself and study lots of yoga.
Nobody in the family can know about this wedding. Chloe's brothers would kill Dante! And the mothers would start knitting for the grandbabies!
It won't be easy to get that HEA this time - but we'll get there. Las Vegas. San Diego. Bali. Italy. It might take a bit of time and miles... but Dante is not giving up easily.
Adorable romance with lots of funny family moments, lots of traveling and a bit of danger too.
I really need to see this series on TV one day! The people, the locations.... Can't wait to read Gio's story next!
BE YOUR EVERYTHING was an adorable + funny + sweet + just beautiful Italian love story - I loved reading it! Run to your nearest amazon for your own Dante - this one is mine!
Be Your Everything is an intimate, alluring tale that takes you into the life of the supportive, troubled Chloe D’Angelo who, after drunkenly marrying the man of her dreams during a pit stop at a Vegas chapel, travels to Bali to indulge in some rest and relaxation, find some peace from her lovable but overbearing Italian family, and give her self some time and space away from the one man, her brother’s best friend Dante Mancuso, who always seems to break her heart.
The writing is crisp and light. The characters are charismatic, loyal, and endearing. And the plot is an enchanting mix of life, love, heartbreak, friendship, introspection, palpable chemistry, familial drama, sizzling chemistry, awkward moments, and swoon-worthy romantic gestures.
I’m not sure there’s a Catherine Bybee book out there that I haven’t enjoyed and that isn’t well written with the perfect mix of heart, hope, and heat, and Be Your Everything is no exception. I loved the storyline, I loved the characters, and I loved the happy-ever-after ending.
Thank you to Thomas Allen & Son for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Be Your Everything is the second book in The D'Angelos serie. The first book was the story of Luca and Brooke and in this book they are getting married. The engaged couple and their wedding party head off to Las Vegas for a bachelor/bachelorette weekend and the fun ensues. Chloe, Luca's sister is left at a strip club by the rest of the group and when she wants to leave, she realizes she doesn't have enough money to pay the bill. She calls Dante Mancuso, her brothers' best friend and the one person she knows will come to help her out. Both Dante and Chloe have had feelings for each other for years, but never acted upon it due to the family's friendship. One thing leads to another and after some gambling and drinking, they head to a wedding chapel and get married. They realize it was a mistake the next morning but it is too late to do anything except get an annulment as soon as they can. Keeping it a secret is not easy, and when you actually have feelings for your spouse, it definitely complicates things.
I loved this addition to the D'Angelo series. The D'Angelos are a typical Italian family with over protective older brothers and a strict Catholic mother who wants all her children happily married, as long as it is in the church by the priest. When Chloe realizes that she can't stay home without letting things slip, and that Dante has no intention of staying in San Diego, she flees to Bali with the intention of staying away until Dante leaves. I loved the feelings that Chloe and Dante had for each other, how they had been growing since they were children, until they finally acted upon them. The meddling of family and friends continues, until they both went off grid. Returning home to see if they could make their relationship work, there is another issue waiting for Chloe and she isn't sure what to do. Can her family and Dante sort things out and save her as well as their relationship? Chloe and Dante are well developed characters and their relationship is believable, There are some sex scenes, but they were used to develop the story. I loved all the characters in the book, except one, and found them very realistic. My son married into an Italian family, and I could recognize some of their actions and behaviours. I would love to head to San Diego to meet them all. This was a wonderful contemporary romance full of family and friendship. It also has a theme about obsessive behaviour and online dating that takes a serious turn, but it is the slow romance between Chloe and Dante that steals the show. I recommend both books in this series and although this can be read as a standalone story, you won't want to miss When It Falls Apart, the first book in this series.

perfect for readers who enjoy close knit family contemporary romance and brother's best friend trope!! I for teh life of me don't like the trope and I don't understand how grow people can't be together and have to have brother's permission.. still, I enjoyed this book and despite all teh drama and messiness it kind of worked!!
thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the copy of the book, rating ana all opinions are my own
Can what happen in Vegas stay in Vegas...Well for Chloe D’Angelo, she so wants it to stay there until she can figure out why she married her long-time crush and her brother's best friend Dante Mancuso. She knew after she woke up with the mother of all hangovers that something monumental happened and when she looked at her ring finger, there was a ring where there was not one yesterday and it was turning her finger green...
For Dante, he knew that he was never to touch Chloe as her brothers would take him out and they would never find the body. But Dante could not resist Chloe any longer and when there was an opportunity in Vegas to put a ring on it, he went for it. But he knew the consequences and what it meant for both of them. He wanted Chloe and would have to figure out how to tell their families, but before Dante could come up with a solution, Chloe leaves the country and he will go around the world to find her and make her see that they are meant to be, despite what their families are going to think.
I loved this next book in the series and Catherine Bybee has given her fans what they need with her classic fun, romantic, sexy sizzle and lots of family drama that will keep the reader turning the pages to see what is happening next. Once you start reading you will not want to put this book down. This book is a 5 Star read.
Thank you, Catherine Bybee, and NetGalley for a copy of this book for my honest review.
Another day, another Catherine Bybee book I plowed through entirely too fast, because I have absolutely zero chill once I start reading her books.
Chloe D’Angelo has had a thing for her older brother’s best friend since she was old enough to like boys. But Dante Mancuso was always out of reach, even more so now that he no longer lives in the US. Also, he’s a notorious playboy.
When Dante comes home for Luca D’Angelo’s wedding and their whole gang travels to Las Vegas for a bachelor/bachelorette weekend, he’s tormented by Chloe’s presence. When time alone and copious amounts of alcohol land Dante and Chloe at a wedding chapel, what happened in Vegas secretly follows them back to San Diego.
On paper, I shouldn’t have liked this story - older brother’s best friend/best friend’s little sister isn’t a trope I usually enjoy. But I don’t think there’s ever been a book by this author I didn’t like. Throw in a boisterous Italian American family with extended Italian framily, plus a swoony man who travels across the world to declare his love, and you have an utterly delightful story (even if I did think the pseudo-other-man drama at the end was unnecessary).
The thing about Catherine Bybee’s writing is that I’m seldom able to let the characters go. I frequently finish the book and jump back to reread my favorite parts. For a person with over 200 unread books on my Kindle, that says a lot about how much I love her stories! There’s just enough “escapism” so I can feel like I’m getting away from my everyday life (who wouldn’t want to read about an extended visit to Bali?!), but things are never so far-fetched that I can’t see myself in the heroine’s shoes. There’s no ridiculous drama. Just real people falling in love. And Be Your Everything was everything I was hoping it would be.
So once again, I find myself in the middle of a beloved Catherine Bybee series, anxiously awaiting the next book. I guess I’ll just have to reread the first two D’Angelo books if my patience runs short!

I think I put on about 5kg just reading this book, thinking of the delicious Italian food.
I liked getting back to them all, and seeing Chloe D'Angelo get her HEA - even if it does take a little while and a few wrong turns to get there.
Loved the protective vibe from the big brothers (even though in real life I would feel like Chloe and hate that they do it). I adored that she and Dante finally work on the feelings they have had for each other. Loved that they finally told the brothers to back off.
I want to be part of this family so bad (and not just for the cannoli!)
Looking forward to seeing which D'Angelo gets their happy next
I really enjoyed this book. All the large Italian family feels! We see baby sister Chloe and brothers best friend Dante ignite their passion and break the rules. After much family drama and soul searching they find their happy ever after.
ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for honest review.
This book has one of my FAV tropes - who doesn’t love a brother’s best friend story??
When I started reading this book, I was a bit confused by all the characters, unsure which the main ones were - then I realized it’s a 2nd book in a series! I’ll be going back to read the first (When it Falls Apart) now.
Chloe is the youngest in the D’Angelo family, with 2 (super protective) older brothers, Luca & Gio, and a traditional Italian Catholic mother. Her brother’s best friend, Dante Mancuso, is OFF LIMITS to Chloe (even though she’s had a major crush on him since childhood), as is Chloe to him. After a drunken wedding in Vegas, how could they continue to follow that rule?
I enjoyed reading about their love story, and also the beautiful places they visited (Italy & Bali). I’m glad both Chloe & Dante continued to pursue their dreams, outside of their relationship. The true love story in this book is family, how both are within themselves, and how they come together.
Thank you NetGalley and Montlake (Amazon Publishing) for sending this ARC book for review consideration. All opinions are my own!
I received an ARC of, Be Your Everything by Catherine Bybee. Chloe and Dante can not be a match, they are complete opposites, and he is her brothers friend. What happens in Vegas does not always stay their. A good read.
This book was just what I needed to read. It is a sweet contemporary romance with a little heat...and a little nail-biting action near the end.
Chloe and Dante have known each other their whole life, and Chloe has crushed on him for many years. However, her two older brothers are what have kept Dante from pursuing her any sooner than a fated trip to Vegas, where they end up in a chapel, married. What ensues is miscommunication between these two while they find their way back to one another.
I don't know if I could handle being in Chloe's shoes with two older brothers that have decided that no one is good enough for her. It doesn't matter that she isn't a gangly teenager anymore; they still take that responsibility seriously. It must be the Catholic and Italian in them. But I do like how their family is close-knit and watch out for each other.
Dante is Gio and Luca's best friend, making it even harder for him to try to have a relationship with Chloe since she was always forbidden. But sometimes, the heart wants what the heart wants.
I really enjoyed watching their relationship grow once they accepted that they were meant for each other. It took time and some grand gestures on Dante's part, but he never looked back from the moment they said their "I Do's" at the chapel in Vegas.
There is some craziness near the end of the book, but when everything started, I had a strong feeling about who was behind it all. I won't say much more and will let you discover the details for yourself.
This book is the 2nd in the series, but it can be read on its own. I don't know what other books will come into play, but I am hoping that Salena gets a story. Now that is a woman that needs to find her center.
Chloe and Dante have known each other a very long time, and there's ever only been one rule for Dante to follow: Chloe is off limits. It was a n easy rule for Dante to follow, until it wasn't. The idea of losing his friendship with Gio and Luca is devastating. But the idea of never even trying with Chloe, it's unimaginable. After a trip to Vegas for Luca and Brooke's bachelor/bachelorette party, Dante might just have a chance with Chloe. If he can convince her their marriage isn't a mistake.
It's another hit for me. As always with Catherine Bybee books, I loved it. The story was well developed, the characters were strong, and the relationships developed were amazing to watch. I love the way Chloe and Dante's relationship changed throughout the book. Their connection to each other was so heartwarming and fun. I loved the friendship between Dante, Luca, and Gio and I love how they were all able to come together in the end. This was a great story and I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.
I would recommend this one to anyone who enjoys the following.
✔️ Brother's Best Friend ✔️ Vegas Wedding ✔️ Close Family ✔️ Friends to Lovers ✔️ Mutual Pining ✔️ Travel ✔️ External Third Act Conflict ✔️ Mild Suspense ✔️ Third Person POV ❕️ TW/CW: Assault
As soon as I heard the wedding festivities were heading to Las Vegas I knew what would happen, so it was fun to see Dante and Chloe fall victim to a quickie Vegas wedding. What was interesting was how the 2 of them reacted afterward and dealt with things. I wished that they would have talked about how they felt, instead of putting things off or flat out not dealing with things. While it made for some fun reading, it was frustrating too, because you knew they both were secretly glad that this happened.
I liked seeing their families react once the news was out. That went about as expected too. I'm glad that Dante and Chloe put them in their place and asked for time and space while they figured things out.
I hated the drama at the end, but was glad that finally Dante and Chloe were in the same train of thought about staying married and having a real relationship.
Be Your Everything returns readers to Little Italy for Chloe D'Angelos story, and what a wonderful story it is.
As Chloe has always fancied her brother Gio's best friend Dante. But Dante knows better than to show any interest in her and so he's always gone out of his way to ignore or tease her.
But when Dante joins the D'Angelos in Vegas to celebrate the upcoming wedding of Luca and Brooke. She's determined to make him notice her. And boy does he. Especially when she ends up stranded at a strip club with a big bill and no means to pay it. And as Dante comes to her rescue the pair end up spending the night having fun together; fun that includes a trip to a Vegas wedding chapel.
Yet, with two protective older brothers and their catholic upbringing to contend with. They know they need to keep this new development quiet until they can decide what to do.
However, Chloe can't keep secrets, and Dante can't keep his eyes of Chloe. So she flees to Bali in the hopes that by the time her trip is over Dante will be back in Italy out of temptation and harms way. Only Dante has other ideas.
And with the perfect amount of sweetness, heat, family feels and fun. Not to mention a little danger. This was a delightful and enjoyable read. That I would happily recommend to all.
**I was kindly provided with an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**
Be Your Everything is the second stand-alone story in the D’Angelo family series. Chloe is the youngest girl in a wonderful, loving family even if her brothers are a bit over protective and overbearing.
Chloe has always had a serious crush on her brothers best friend Dante Manciso but he hardly even seemed to notice her. Little did she know that he more than noticed her but kept his distance because of those overprotective brothers.
“I could have lived with a fling.” In two steps she was up and in his space. Lifted her chin and nearly touched his. “A fling I’ve wanted with you from the day boys stopped being icky.”
The story is sweet and romantic. The kind of book that you just want to kick back and settle into. For most of the story the pace is almost leisurely, encouraging letting your guard down and just enjoying. Until the big twist shakes things up! Love this book and love this big loving family!! #Netgalley -5 Stars-
A Catherine Bybee romance with Vegas shenanigans–including a quickie wedding–paired up with a brother’s-best-friend trope? Count me in! Be Your Everything was a delightful whirlwind trek across continents that proved to be every bit as heartfelt as it was passionate.
Catherine Bybee truly can do no wrong. Seriously. I thought Luca and Brooke’s relationship in book one, When it Falls Apart, was wonderful, but then came Chloe and Dante. And *wow* did they charm me. I already liked Chloe from her scenes in her big brother Luca’s book so I had a good feeling about getting her own HEA. Be Your Everything definitely didn’t disappoint. She and her often boisterous Italian-American family still had tons of playful banter and such deep love and care for each other that it made me want to sit down to a Sunday dinner with them and bask in it all... Be Your Everything is the second book in the D'Angelos series by Catherine Bybee. I really enjoyed When It Falls Apart and have been looking forward to Chloe and Dante's story! This is a brother's best friend secret wedding romance and I am here for it! Chloe has had a crush on Dante since she was young. He's only ever seen her as his best friend's little sister. He's been living in Italy for years and now they are all together and doing a bachelor/bachelorette party in Vegas. She didn't wear the red dress for him. She didn't have too much to drink and find herself in a wedding chapel and marrying her crush. Wait. She totally did. Now they have to keep it a secret until they can figure out what to do. Dante can't keep his eyes off Chloe. She's gorgeous and smart and funny and very off-limits. He knows her brothers would kill him if he touched her, but what if they were married. He didn't plan it, but when the situation arises, he jumps at his chance. Now he just has to convince her to take a chance on him. Chloe doesn't want to face Dante. She has real feelings for him but it can never work. She's already planning a trip to Bali so she'll just go early and get away. Dante isn't going to let her run from him. Not anymore. She's his wife and he wants to make her his for real. Oh boy! I freaking love Dante! He's swoony and funny and sexy and not the player everyone thinks he is. He's willing to fight for Chloe, literally! I loved their connection. They have known each other for a long time, to they have a history. The attraction has always been there and now they can act on it. What happens when their families find out? Totally chaos! Makes me miss my grandparents and my family. I loved the way Dante didn't give up on Chloe. He went after what he wanted. It was great seeing their families again. Oh Giovanni! I'm waiting for you!
Chloe D’Angelo has had a crush on her brother’s best friend for years, so when she finds herself stranded at a bar in Vegas when they are at a joint bachelor/bachelorette party she calls Dante for help. The night takes an unexpected turn and they end up drunk and saying I do. When they get back home neither of them is sure what to do. She thinks Dante is only home for a short time before heading back to his work in Italy. He has had feelings for her for a long time, but the bro code has kept him away. He doesn’t think he can walk away from her now. Miscommunication leads them to Bali where they spend time really getting to know each other and loving what they find. They have to navigate their way around their disappointed/angry families and the obstacles in their way. A man from Chloe’s past harasses her in the most horrible way, but luckily Dante and her family are there for her. Chloe was strong, loving, independent but would do anything for her family. Dante was no longer the playboy people thought he was, he is protective, caring and determined to show Chloe that they deserve each other. A great addition to the serious, I loved seeing all the characters from the previous book and I’m hopeful about who will be in the next book.
I knew I was going to love Dante! He’s so much more than outer appearances. Dante Mancuso loves Chloe D’Angelo yet has spent the last 5 years living in Italy, away from her in San Diego because he didn’t want to ruin his friendship with her or her brothers. Italian brothers are so protective. While Chloe’s brothers are like brothers to him, she does NOT feel like a sister.
Chloe has loved Dante since she was old enough to realize boys weren’t gross and had cooties. She is going to make him notice her if it’s the last thing she does at her brother’s bachelor/bachelorette weekend in Las Vegas. Dante notices, but then he’s noticed her for years. When they end up together after an evening of drinking in Vegas, one kiss near a wedding chapel leads to a spontaneous decision to wed. While they are both on board with this, they realize the family would not feel the same, so they decide to keep their marriage a secret until Dante can figure out how to annul their impulsiveness. Their mothers would want to see them married in church and Chloe’s brothers (who remember Dante’s more wild ways) wouldn’t agree to the relationship at all. After an intimate and extremely hot New Year’s Eve, Chloe falls more in love with him and needs to get away. She escapes on her planned trip to Bali, leaving a week early, to get away from Dante and their secret until he goes back to Italy. Dante realizing all that she means to him goes after her.
There is so much more than a simple friends-to-lovers story in Be Your Everything. There is the bond of family and community, the undercurrent of finding oneself within the conventional roles of a youngest child and only daughter in a tight-knit family. Some humor and wonderful, witty dialogue between the characters, and a suspenseful twist that was unexpected. And because Ms. Bybee loves to show her readers all parts of life and relationships, Dante and Chloe’s new relationship is juxtaposed next to Dante’s mother and father’s relationship in stark contrast.
In Be Your Everything, we get the impulsiveness of a Vegas wedding, the familial bonds of love and respect, the acceptance of moving on, and the beauty of finding oneself and the love within. I received an arc of this book from NetGalley, and this is my honest and voluntary review.
3. Stars I liked our main characters and loved Chloe and Dante's maturity I loved their interactions i loved the banter The book would have been fine with just the two of them working it out. The over-protective brothers and the anger of the mothers were excessive, off-putting, and damaged the novel. these kind of Italians behaviors is not realistic anymore (i am italian) The near-rape and the attack by Eric was unnecessary at the end. Nice read well done
I was so happy to get Chloe and Dante's story. There was some foreshadowing to this match in the first book in this series. (I recommend reading the series in order so that you are familiar with all the characters.)
This book started off with a bang in Vegas and then settled in with the consequences and questions. It took me a minute to really connect to the characters and their relationship, but I loved the time they spent in Bali. That really hooked me.
This is a great addition to the D'Angelo series and a wonderful take on the secret weddings & brother's best friend trope.
I have been enjoying Ms. Bybee's books for quite a while and looked forward to reading this new one. I did like this book but it didn't seem to be as engrossing as previous ones. Her earlier books are still my favorites but I would never pass up the opportunity to read a book by her. I received this e-book digitally from NetGalley in return for a voluntary and unbiased review. Thank you Montlake and NetGalley.
I received an ARC copy from Netgalley for an honest review. The second book of this series of Italian characters and family is also an unusual story in an unusual context from Catherine Bybee. Some facts and matters are surprisingly old fashioned if you realise we’re in 2022 but they are so true. The romance was globally okay but a little off for me. It’s a 2.5 stars for me.
I absolutely LOVED Be Your Everything by Catherine Bybee, the second book in her D’Angelos series. I love that Catherine Bybee continues to author the books that I love to read. I can honestly say that Be Your Everything is one of the most enjoyable books that I have read recently. Be Your Everything is a beautifully written story about perseverance and dealing with all of life's shortcomings. I loved every page, and it was impossible to put it down! Catherine Bybee continues to prove that she is an incredible storyteller. Be Your Everything is a wonderful love story, filling me with a rollercoaster of emotions and I could not put it down. I loved every moment on every page. I love the incredible love story, the setting, and the amazing characters! Catherine Bybee definitely does not disappoint her readers with all the feels in Be Your Everything and has once again delivered an amazing story filled with everything that I have come to love and expect in her books, especially the amazing characters, they feel like family, and the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. I love how Catherine develops her characters in such a way that you fall in love with them and care about them like a good friend. Catherine Bybee continues to deliver all that and so much more. I am not sure how she does it, but Catherine Bybee has once again given her readers another remarkable book. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing aloud. My favorite moments are the ones that pull at my heartstrings that cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. Be Your Everything is filled with such moments, and with so much emotion. Be Your Everything is the story of Chloe D’Angelo and her longtime crush and brother’s best friend, Dante Mancuso. Chloe works at her family’s restaurant, D’Angelo’s located in San Diego’s Little Italy, but her real passion is yoga. Dante currently lives in Positano, Italy where he co-owns a small fleet of boats. Luca and Brooke’s wedding party head to Vegas to celebrate their bachelor and bachelorette parties. Dante meets up with Chloe and the rest of wedding party at the hotel before going their separate ways. Dante and Chloe decide to follow each other on the Friend Finder app. When Chloe gets abandoned at a night club with no way to pay the bar tab that the women accumulated, Dante comes to her rescue. They continue to drink, gamble, and spend time together wandering around Vegas. The following morning Chloe wakes up with a ring on her left-hand ring finger that left her finger green when she removed it with no recollection of what happened the night before. Dante and Chloe agree to keep their accidental, drunken Las Vegas marriage to themselves and not let their family know that they got married. Meanwhile, they discuss quietly getting divorced or having their marriage annulled. I love the chemistry between Dante and Chloe. Thing heat up between them on New Year’s Eve, but shortly afterward Chloe leaves alone on her dream of a lifetime trip to Bali for a yoga retreat. With the help of Salena, Chloe’s best friend, Dante heads to Bali to find Chloe and discuss their future. I loved the heart-to-heart conversation between Dante and Chloe, where she reveals everything that about her dreams of doing yoga full-time and Dante reveals the real reason he initially went to Italy and why he stayed. I love the conversations that Dante has with his mother, Rosa, which helps him with his decision regarding his future with Chloe. My favorite part was the advice that Mawar, one of the women who run the retreat, gives to them and Chloe repeats to Dante. A plot twist causes their family to find out the details about their Las Vegas marriage. I love how Dante admits how he took advantage of the situation to marry Chloe and that it was not an accident. Another unexpected plot twist puts Chloe’s life in danger. Be Your Everything is an amazing love story; I am so glad that Dante and Lou got the happily ever after. I loved all the surprises that filled the pages of this love story, especially the significance of Dante’s Valentine’s Day gift to Chloe. I love all the changes that Dante and Chloe willingly make to have a life together. My favorite part was Dante’s proposal and the location of the proposal. I love how the epilogue completes the happily ever after. I love all the characters in this series, I enjoy all the interactions among the D’Angelo siblings, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. I loved catching up with the other characters in the D’Angelo’s series it felt like a family reunion. Be Your Everything it filled with outstanding characters, wonderful descriptions of the setting, and incredible plot twists. Catherine Bybee's descriptions are so real, I was right there with Chloe and Dante in Little Italy and Bali. I love that Catherine Bybee always writes about strong women. Be Your Everything is filled with the bittersweet and poignant moments, that I have come to love and expect in Catherine Bybee's books. I am looking forward to reading the other books in the series. Highly recommend accidental marriage to longtime crush on brother’s best friend love story.
Be Your Everything by Catherine Bybee, book two in the D’Angelos series is an amazing story that captures you on page one, not letting go until you reach the end. This is a brother's best friend, secret wedding romance. Chloe D'Angelo has had a crush on Dante Mancuso, her brother’s best friend, since she was young; but he's been living in Italy for the last 5 years. They are all together and doing a bachelor/bachelorette party in Vegas for Chloe’s oldest brother and his fiancée. She didn't wear the red dress for him. She didn't have too much to drink and find herself in a wedding chapel and marrying her crush. Wait. She totally did. Now they have to keep it a secret until they can figure out what to do. Dante can't keep his eyes off Chloe. She's beautiful, smart, funny, and very off-limits. He knows her brothers would kill him if he touched her, but what if they were married. He didn't plan it, but when they happen to walk by a wedding chapel, he jumps at his chance. Now he just has to convince her to take a chance on him. Chloe doesn't want to face Dante. She has real feelings for him but it can never work. She's already has a trip to Bali planned, so why not go early and get away. Dante isn't going to let her run from him. Not anymore. She's his wife and he wants to make her his, for real. Dante doesn’t give up easily. He will go around the world to find her and make her see that they are meant to be together, regardless of what their families are going to think.
Ms. Bybee explored the impulsiveness of a Vegas wedding, family bonds of love and respect, the acceptance of moving on, and the opportunity to find oneself and the love within. She provided a tale rich with emotions, sizzling chemistry, family dynamics, clever banter, and endearing secondary characters allowing Chloe and Dante to have their chance at love, and a future together. I highly recommend Be Your Everything to other readers and I can't wait Gio’s story.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
