A damaged man.

Eight years ago, Derek "Bull" Crue had a choice—marry Lila or go to prison. He did what any man would do in his position. He signed the marriage certificate, left her on the courthouse steps, and rode away on his motorcycle with the promise to return when she grew up.

But life has a way of slapping good intentions out of him.

He went to prison, changed his name, and joined Killere Motorcycle Club. Now, as vice president, he wants his wife at his side. But will he be able to hide how much his past has damaged him while keeping her safe?

Poverty, charity, and forgiveness have only gotten Lila so far in life. She wants more and she's not afraid to work hard.

So when the famous Chef Canaty awards her an opportunity to work with him at his Spokane restaurant, she jumps at the chance to escape her hometown and the reputation tied around her neck.

A new location. A new job. Lila can finally forget about her past.

Until a familiar but bigger and sexier man walks into the restaurant wearing a leather vest and covered in tattoos, demanding his rights as her husband.

Heart Truth is book 3 in the Killere Motorcycle Club and since I really like this author, I'm going to keep this review short. I did not like anything about this book, from the story which I felt was a mess to Bull and Lila. Now don't get me wrong I love Age-Gap books which is why I keep coming back to this author, but sorry Bull and Lila were a big fat NO. Now with that said I will continue the series.

2.5 stars. This one was a bit disjointed for me. Ultimately, it seemed like Bull and Lila loved each other, but it bothered me that everything had to be on Bull’s terms. I get that he had a troubled past, but even that- once revealed, didn’t make much sense. First of all, Bull having sex with Lila when he was 32 and she was 15?! Major ick. They he marries her under duress from her father who’s a reverend and thinks that will somehow solve the problem? After Bull and Lila get married at the courthouse, he leaves town and completely ghosts her. He doesn’t contact her for eight years! He does give her father money to help with her rent and culinary school. Meanwhile he ends up at Killere MC where he does shady stuff and ends up in jail for 18months. I’m still unclear as to why he can’t contact her until she turns 24? That seems super arbitrary. 8 years is a really long time to wait for someone with no assurances.

She of course doesn’t move on with any other romantic relationships. He does whatever he wants. Of course. Then when they finally get together, he has control issues and doesn’t want her to touch him, etc. I just didn’t care at that point. He manipulated her in so many ways, I had a hard time feeling sorry for him. The big reveal about his past was kind of ridiculous as well. He had a rough childhood and was taken in by a friend’s mom who plied him with drugs and alcohol and used him as a fuck-toy. He was 16 when she took him in, then when he was 32 he decided he had enough and was going to kill her and himself. 16 YEARS he stayed with her?!! Say what? Thats REALLY hard to believe. It’s one of those reveals you wait for and the book kind of pivots on and it was just completely unbelievable.

Raw and riviting

Words escape me. This is a true Debra book. It involves every emotion you have. Bull is blunt, Lila is alone. Together they complete each other.

Once again a 30 something man leaves his maybe 16 year old bride at the courthouse, after being forced to marry her, for reasons which cease to exist eight years after the fact and him screwing "women who weren't interested in anything more than hot sex", his words but he never stopped loving her so it ok(eat shit bitch) . The girl whereas goes to school and obviously avoids any contact with the opposite sex(who could've thought), gets manipulated into moving to a town where the guy's motorcycle club is, who forces her boss to give her time off so they can bang(wtf) and this is all I got from skimming it before I came here to hopefully read reviews of like minded people.

It's ok

I don't get the 5 stars I read before buying this book. The "I live you and will never leave" comments then she runs everytime got annoying. And his comments I have always lived you and needed you but was sleeping with others girls while married is not saying that comment to me. Yes I get she was underage, but if he needed her so bad, he would have waited or at least got her at 18.

Bull and Lila were forced to get married when Lila's father caught them together. Bull left her with the promise of returning when she got older, but after eight years Lila is determined to forget him and focus on her career. But Bull has not forgotten her! He is now the vice president of Killere MC, with a hurtful past that destroyed him, and left him incapable of accepting the love and affection of the woman who saved his life. But he wants his wife back, and plans to offer her everything she desires and never let her go! Lila has lost all hope that she will be with Bull, but when he claims her she can't deny him! They've both changed and living under the same roof and being honest with each other proves challenging! Heart Truth is powerful and filled with tension and passion!

Heart truth (Killers Motorcycle club book 3)

Bull and Lila had a complicated and difficult relationship. Bull had a terrible and sexualized abusive childhood. He found a brotherhood and family with the Killers MC club. Bull married Lila when she was fifteen , but didn't get together until eight years later. I enjoyed reading about their journey in getting more comfortable and communicate with each other as a married couple.

A different story with a unique subject matter.

This book is unlike most MC books I've read. It has a very raw feeling, its not a smooth read nor does it have and easy times for the main characters. What it is is a typical Debra Kayn original storyline with an untouched on hero's problem and damaged history. It made for an interesting read. And the sex scenes were HOT!

DNF @79%. ......The entire time I was just annoyed at the repetitive dialog. I get it....move on! These are usually the stories I love......this was no one of them. I rarely DNF books, but I just couldn't listen to it anymore.

I did not enjoy this one as much as the others. I just couldn't connect with this couple, and really didn't care for either of them. I love steamy scenes as much as the next gal, but that's all this one seemed to be.

I love this author, just not this story

awful

Save yourself money. This is by far the worst book ever written. It’s so bad, that I can’t put it into words.
