A witch with the gift of fire. A berserker bred in brutality. An immortal world on the brink.

Willow

I’ll do anything to protect my coven… even if it costs my life. We have far too many enemies, including among our own kind, because our fathers weren’t human. Witches aren’t supposed to mate other immortals.

As a coven of hybrids, we have to work twice as hard to survive.

But things can always get worse.

We’ve gone on the offensive, and the leaders of witchkind won’t let it stand. If we’re going to defeat them, we need more allies. The pickings are slim, so it’s up to me to broker a deal with the berserkers, an immortal race thought to be extinct. They won’t be happy to see me.

After all, it was my kind that nearly annihilated them.

Toric

I lead my kind through strength and adherence to custom. It is the berserker way.

Now Willow has come, disrupting my brood. She is the most intriguing female I have ever encountered.

She wishes to partake in the trials to earn her right to look upon me. Only then may she make a request of me.

She will not survive them. But while she fights in the arena, I will make her mine.

For I rule all before me, including the witch with the soul of a warrior.

Note: Inferno is a deliciously dark and steamy paranormal romance. It features forced proximity, fated mates, a brutal and inexperienced hero, and a badass heroine who brings him to his knees. Each book in the Immortal Coven series has an HEA for the couple, but the series has an overarching plot. See: Note for Readers in the book for the content warnings.

*Thank you to the author for an ARC in exchange for this review.*

We are continuing right along with the Immortal Coven series. This time we jump in with Willow as she reaches out to the Berzerkers and is seeking an audience with their leader, Toric. Her coven needs them as an ally, the only issue is... they hate outsiders, especially witches since it was witches who almost made them go extinct.

With the help of Makhi, she makes contact with the brood buuuuutttt, theres one little catch... before she can even look upon the leader, she must complete 3 trials. That is 3 fights to death or to subduing your opponent before she can speak with him. There is no guarantee of success, even more so when they put on a collar to contain her fire power. But Willow will do whatever she must for her coven. Even facing death in the face again and again.

Toric has no belief that Willow can win an audience with him, but he is very interested in making her his while she is with his brood. There is something so compelling about her and while that would be devastating if he falls under her spell, he's not above having his way with her while he can. And by her scent... she seems more than willing.

This was another extremely compelling entry to the series. We are putting together more of a picture of the world and we get to meet even more players in the Immortal world. We discover even more crimes of the witches and meet more characters to add to our ever growing alliances.

There was just something extra special about Willow and Toric. They were both so protective over those under their care. Which is on display in Willow being willing to go all the way for her sisters and Toric being very guarded but curious about what she has to tell him. And of course, their chemistry is off the effing charts. As I'm coming to expect for this author.

I also really loved the vulnerable moments we see of Toric and Willow in this one. The pillow talk was everything! I just loved them so dearly. I really think this one is my favorite but I will save my judgement until we get through everyone because there is a WONDERFUL tease for what's ahead.

If you haven't noticed, I'm obsessed with this witch coven full of deliciously violent women ❤️
ARC Review

👶 ~ Adult! For the kinks, for the violence, for all the deliciousness and darkness

🌶 ~ Well, if you match a violent little creature with a violent barbarian man, how hot do you think it will be? 🥵🥵

⚔ ~ We are now on the 3rd installment, so there's little that I can say apart from: our coven needs allies, the more controversial, the better 😏
This time, we are going for the extreme violent berserks, the huge barbarian witch-haters. And who better than Willow, the daughter of the traitor witch, to show her devotion to the coven by trying to form an alliance. But the coven loves her, they don't want her to go. Ah! I love her too!

👑 ~ My baby Willow 😭😭 publicly dishonored by the leaders and forever carrying the weight of her mother's actions. Now, do you expect a pity party? Do not, because our Willow is an inferno 😍😍 ready to burn them all!
And then enters Toric, the leader of the Bezerkers. Only the most honorable can approach, speak and look at Toric. So honor is what Willow must win to reach an alliance. And what better way for our baby to show her worth to her mate than through violent trials of honor? This is f* perfection!
Dreth!!!! 😭how could you?! 😭 leave me be! I need to cry 😭
Makhi's growth, love and healing is so beautiful to see!!!

🌎 ~ Urban dark fantasy romance with Witches, Warlocks, Shifters, Vampires, Beserkers, Fae, Demons (he's mentioned again! 😱), Angels, Sirens... on a world where witch hybrids are creatures to be eradicated! Because they are the strongest 😈

📖 ~ I love this writing so much!

This book killed me. Omg it was so good 🔥

Plot:
Willow is willing to risk everything to convince the berserkers to ally with her coven; even if this means entering a deadly trial where she will have to fight to death.

Toric, the leader of all remaining berserkers is intrigued by the small, red haired witch. How can she look so innocent but be so deadly? And why does he suddenly feel sexual hunger when he’s gone all his life without?

As Willow fights to gain the rights to speak to the mysterious leader, she finds unlikely friends, discovers her strengths and finds peace in a dungeon.

My thoughts:

I can not get enough of this series. This book is the best yet and I already want to reread. So so good omg 🥵

I loved how vulnerable Willow was with Toric and I devoured the bits where Toric simply couldn’t resist her. The character development was incredible in this book and this couple will be hard to beat.

The series is getting better and better with each book; the world building is becoming more intricate and characters are developing so much depth.

There were moments where I was sobbing 😭 it was not pretty and even thinking about it now chokes me up. Amara Rae is a brilliant story teller and you shouldn’t sleep on this.

Tropes:

🔥 enemies to lovers
🔥 virgin hero
🔥 grump/sunshine
🔥 captive heroine
🔥 alpha male
🔥 public smut

Basically this book has everything. Read it.

Willow and Toric are definitely my favorite couple of the series!! Gahhh they were absolutely amazing! I loved every moment of this book but especially the fighting scene! I'm a sucker for a good fighting scene.

But that ending 😭 Noooo! I want to scream at the world! Why?

I am obsessed with this series. I’ve been devouring it. This third book might be my favorite so far. I love everything about it. The writing, the world building, the characters, the romance, the storyline, it’s everything I want in an adult paranormal romance series.

The series reminds me a bit of Immortals After Dark, it’s different and maybe not as intricate, but it gives me the same vibes and I couldn’t love it more.

Inferno was perfection. I haven’t cried over a secondary character like this for a long time, Amara Rae can write, goddamnit. She makes me laugh out loud, sob like a baby, and fan myself. I can’t get enough.

Seriously, if you are looking for a new paranormal romance series to read, don’t walk, RUN! The Immortal Coven series has it all, romance, fated mates, sexy times (like seriously steamy), dark & possessive males, sassy & strong females, magic, intrigues, betrayals, fights… it’s such an underrated series, and I hope more people give it a chance.

I love this book, I love this book, I love this book, I FUCKING LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!!

AHHHH! Where do I even start?

I can't even properly gather my thoughts, that ending has left me in such a state, I'm stunned how Amara managed to take me to such heights with Willow and Toric's story and just how epic and bloodthirsty and kinky and hot and amazing and emotional it all was... but then she freaking obliterated my high in just a matter of pages with that epilogue/teaser for the next book, and now I'm a screaming, crying mess (internally, anyway. I've got that conceal, don't feel Elsa bullshit down to an art form... but I digress).

I loved this book, though.

The berserker culture in particular was just so fascinating and richly developed, and Willow's integration into that world and her character arc as she discovers her own sense of self worth and honor - while also finding the most perfect male for her, omg I love Toric so much, send help - it was just so damn beautiful. All of it.

I mean - THE FEELS IN THIS BOOK! And the action! The carnage. The tension and high stakes. The heat.

Maybe if I loved this book less, I could talk about it more, but this book was literally perfect. I have zero complaints.

... except for that ending/teaser for the next book was bloody CRUEL. I need to know what happens next ASAP!

2.5 Stars - Meant to be read as a series

I am genuinely not sure how this ended up on my TBR. It was a quick read — if you can get past the first 2-3 chapters of exposition. It was enough that readers who finished books #1 and #2 would be annoyed, but not as much as new readers (me!) needed to figure out this complex world.

✔️ Dual POVs (Toric x Willow)
✔️ Set in a contemporary fantasy world with berserkers, witches, vampires, and fae
✔️ Open-door paranormal romance (4.5/5🌶️)
✔️ Tropes: Fantasy romance; paranormal romance; virgin hero; found family

crazy good!

All Amara’s heroes so far are slightly nuts and I’m here for it! This is the first of the series that made me cry which was completely unexpected! Willow is fierce and cold obviously well matched with Toric. And with his brood…do I see a spin-off on the distant horizon?

I really don't understand Berserker "brood" culture.

They run around staying in cells under the arena, waiting for their next fight, and killing each other in the arena, but that's ok because your honor is the most important thing. Until you've won three fights in the arena and been branded 3 times to show your victories, you don't have a name.

So....how do they raise their kids without a name? I don't get it.

And I don't hear about anyone doing any profession except fighting each other. Nobody talks about growing food or cooking dinner. Hero sews an outfit for heroine to wear so I guess they sew their own clothes?

Hero makes a big deal about how she can't look at him because she doesn't have a name so he blindfolds her and has sex with her. He can't speak with her as the leader of the brood as she has no name but he can have sex with her?

I spent most of the book not understanding brood culture.

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

Hero is a virgin. So there was a funny scene where she yelled at him because she didn't have an orgasm the first time they had sex. Hero asks her what he should do to fix that. So she shows him and to prove he's in charge he makes her orgasm repeatedly until she passes out.

Hero splits the brood, some stay in their old home and some come live with the heroine's coven.

I didn't expect to like this book as much as I did?! This was pure fun. And I didn't even hate the hero, the way I did with the prequels. The heroine is badass, I adore Willow.
Just fun. I'm happy I didn't give up on the series after the first book.

Note 1: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Note 2: This is a series so please do read in order as the stories are connected and previous characters do make appearances. please read CW before reading, sensibles subjects in the history

This book tells the story of fire witch willow and her berserker mate toric.
I'm going to start by saying that this FM has been my favorite of the series so far, in the previous books it is made clear that Willow feels great guilt for her mother's actions against her coven, because of that she feels that her value and place in her own coven is not safe and that because she has traitorous blood shecould not make important contributions, this story follows the journey in which she lets go of the past when she realizes that her mother's actions and her sins are not her responsibility, and accepts the great power she possesses, learns to control it and to have peace and security in the place sha has both in her coven and together with toric, in essence her story is a journey of self-discovery that exemplifies in a glorious way that many times we are our worst enemy by holding on to the past actions out of our control and how conquering our inner demons is the best way to continue into the better future

Continuing with toric, I also loved him, the leader of the berserkers, the reader understands from his first appearance on the page his position and actions (imagine makki boosted 100 times), the only thing his group believes in is honor and force, which leads him to be a leader who maintains absolute control through both, although never abusing his power for his own gain, in fact, once more of his customs and perspectives of life are revealed, you realize that at the end of the day he only wants the best for his people so that they can prosper and live in peace, therefore see how willow affects and challenge his rules, when compared to his women at first sight she is physically weaker, and how despite his doubts manages to accept her love and tenderness is another great story

To the fun part, the sex scenes are very good, the chemistry and attraction of both are felt from their first meeting, and since in essence the characters do not change their core beliefs, seeing them grow and adapt to each other and their life together, fighting all the time while they do it (the way toric wants to defer arguments in favor of other activities is great fun to red to), create funny scenes to break the tension and give more depth to this great story

Inferno is the third book in Amara Rae's Immortal coven series. Her writing is descriptive, beautiful, and has the ability to transport you out of your own head and into her world. This book was a complete binge read for me. I read it in one day, almost in one sitting. There was no putting down Inferno when Willow and Toric came to play!

I loved both the female MC, Willow, and the male MC Toric. Willow seeks help from the berserkers to aid in her coven’s war against the elder witches. Willow finds herself needing to complete 3 trials without dying before she can even speak to the head of the berserkers (Toric). Willow also feels like she needs to prove herself because her mother is a traitor. What better way to prove your worth than to battle it out in the arena with berserkers?

Meanwhile Toric finds himself drawn to Willow in a way that surprises and consumes him. He constantly thinks about her and relishes her skills in the trials. Eventually his craving for Willow wins out and he takes her to his bed.

The relationship and dynamic between Willow and Toric is sexy, violent, and fully driven by overpowering need. Toric respects Willow as a seasoned warrior and doesn’t tell her what she can and can’t do (usually). Willow sees Toric as the leader of the berserkers and respects it, but she still challenges him in every way she can. What I enjoyed the most is that although Willow and Toric seem like complete opposites, they have so much in common from past trauma and a love for feeling their enemies blood on their skin.

Also, let me just say that the steamy scenes between Willow and Toric were everything. They are both dominant by nature and Willow relishes pain just as much as Toric does. To add a twist on things for most of the book Willow is wearing a blindfold or Toric is wearing his insanely scary skull mask during their sexacades. Amara is very skilled at writing these spicy scenes. Every detail, emotion, and body part is exactly where it should be.

Amara Rae is an auto buy author for me and I recommend her books to any Dark PNR lover!

Once again Miss Rae wrote another unique and hot fantasy book! I honestly am obsessed with the found family in this series and their hilarious and adorable dynamics. I can’t say I loved this book as much as the first two, I just wasn’t feeling the chemistry between the main characters. Outside of that I really loved the story and introduction of new characters and changes to the overarching world

I don’t know why I’m still bothering with these books
The first two were ok but there are lots of very annoying problems: quite a few typos and the authors ability to confuse the reader with the characters. Sometimes they talk about someone and switch the convo but it’s hard to follow who I being talked about. The written feels messy and the plot was flat.

The berserk culture has some similarities to dothrrakies from Game of thrones: honor in fighting, nomadic style, bloody rooling, main heroes are like Khalissi and Drogon. Just this version of Khalissi likes to fight😄

Interesting story, bloody, brutal, no nonsense in between.😉

Liked it, three stars because its nor good nor bad. In the middle👍

I probably wouldn’t have bothered to keep reading this series if it wasn’t on Kindle Unlimited. Every male has the same personality. The females are supposedly oh so strong but keep getting beat by their mates. The entire series is very predictable.

This dark paranormal romance follows our hybrid fire witch Willow in her journey to seek the bereseeker allies. And maybe find herself a little mate too. Well, a big ass smexy 7 foot tall bereseker ferron mate that is. Overall I think this may be the biggest journey of self discovery of the sisters so far! I was eating it up! Willow was just so defiant & strong. Loved her lil teasing brat side too...😅
.
Toric was devoted! I really loved how he admired Willows strength and didn't try to keep her tucked in a safe spot. He relished her qualities and was just besides her in her choices even if those were to fight. So much sexy fire between these two!! And a good hint of primal play!!🔥
.
A little ramble: A tiney detail I love is when the newly found mate of a coven lead sis eventually joins their table... they stand behind their female, letting them lead and be the strong women they fell for. It just warms my heart so much!!! Seeing them follow their mates and letting them shine their own light with them just backing their every move and intention. I keep picturing the big table and every male behind their female and I can't wait until I see all the spots filled.
.
Enjoyed seeing bits of the dominant men of the previous books. I love how even when they are mated to a single witch they call the coven their females and protect them all knowing the hurt their mate will endure if any other gets hurt.
.
I also may be developing a thing for red head freckled witches...
.
Totally recomend catching up on this series!! This is a dark paranormal romance so please check trigger warnings.
.
Thank you Ammara Rae for this e-ARC in exchange of an honest review. I am so excited to be part of your ARC team and so so ready for the next one!!

TW/ Tropes: sexual nature (including dubious consent, and primal and public scenes that are not within a safe, sane, and consensual BDSM relationship), explicit language, graphic violence, branding, mild spit and blood kinks, and sexual assault (not by the hero), forced proximity, fated mates, a brutal and inexperienced hero, and a badass heroine who brings him to his knees

Willow is hot headed, impulsive, violent, silent, loyal and bloodthirsty. She is a fire witch with uncontrollable flames. She is set to go through trials to gain an alliance with berserkers to fight against an enemy.

Toric is ferron. A leader of a brood, which is a community of berserkers. Berserkers have a strong belief of honor above all. He is silent and strong. He leads with an iron fist. He is brooding and dominant.

She is wild and he is controlled. They are what the other needs.

I love Willow.🫶🏼 She comes off as this impulsive, shoot first ask questions later person. Which she kinda is but as she grows and starts to accept herself we see more of her brilliant thought out plans for battles🥰 Then seeing her and Toric together is adorable! They both take comfort in silence and expressing themselves in actions rather than words. Toric’s violence matches and is in sync with Willow’s. He loves her so much☺️ and enjoys her fighting. ❤️

I am LOVING this series🥰. Like a fml who loves to fight and is sarcastic and funny with a brooding and dominant ml who accepts, encourages and loves her for it! Perfect!!🫶🏼 I love how Willow grew to understand and love Toric’s/ berserkers culture. I also love how Toric supports and encourages Willow to be strong and fight but is also protective and possessive of her at the same time!

Thank you so much to Amara Rae for the arc . Inferno is book three in the immortal Coven series . This time the story is about Willow who is a fire witch. she goes to the bizerkers to plead with them to help her coven win the battle against their enemies. but before she can meet with the berserker leader she has to take part in three trials. where she has to fight three different berserkers and win. The berserker leader’s name is Toric in the second battle willow does something to catch Toric’s attention .He declares that Willow will sleep in his bed every night while she’s doing the challenges. eventually they get to know each other and form an emotional and physical relationship. this book was spicy Amara Rae knows how to write spicy scenes. Toric has to decide if he’s willing to except change or let willow walk away . I really enjoyed this book I gave it four stars because I wish the battle scene was longer. was too short in my opinion. and it needed to be longer . Please read the trigger warnings before reading this book. I love the relationship between Willow and Toric . He’s a virgin hero It was really sweet watching them opening up about their secrets and how their relationship progress. Willow is still caring guilt for her mother’s actions . Toric helps her deal with her emotions about that. I encourage people to read Inferno because it was a very entertaining book. Hydrus is still my favorite in the immortal coven series because there is something about fae The epilogue got me excited for the next story Greer’s story is next and I’m excited.

My Rating⭐⭐⭐⭐
Tropes: Rivals to Lovers (a little bit enemies to lovers), Alpha Male vibes, a little bit of exhibitionism,
Amount of spice: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Explicitness: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

My thoughts
Two quick things - I started this series in the middle so that might have an impact on my review and the spice in this is not something I would normally read so I am surprised that I enjoyed this as much as I did.

I didn’t feel out of the loop starting this book because the author did a good job of summing up what happened in the previous books without it feeling like an info dump BUT I do think it may have changed my reading experience if I had read the first two. The style of writing was great, the characters were fun and if you’re into some alpha male behaviour and a little risque spice then this might be the book for you.

I loved the witchy sisterhood vibes and Willow was a fun fmc and it never felt like a bore to be inside her head. Toric is a complete alpha male brute but I love the way he softens when it comes to Willow. I thought there were lots of intriguing characters and there was some kind of addictive quality to this.

I’m choosing not to rate it lower based on the fact that the spice wasn’t my vibe but I did think the spice was a little unrealistic at times. I mean, 8 orgasms in a row seems far fetched. Also, the plot felt quite slow towards the end and it seemed like they just went backwards and forwards a lot.

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
POV: Dual 1st Person
M/F
Stand Alone? The couple’s story is complete but the overall story expands throughout the series so it is best read in order.

With every book I get more drawn in to Amara Rae’s world and I never want to leave. I am drawn to a world where the beauty of violence is appreciated, where the sexuality of a person is celebrated. The story of this world is one that calls to me in a way I can’t explain.

I love watching these characters overcome the prejudice they were taught and learn to accept and acknowledge the good of all those around them. The dark content and revelry in the taboo kinks is my ambrosia and I can’t say enough how much I appreciate the nature of these books.

Can I have a berserker mate? I think if I was in this world the berserker would be the perfect mate for me (don’t tell my husband 😂 )

This book was another hit for me and I can’t wait for the next one!

Happy Reading my Friends!

Willow and Toric are literal infernos and the title is perfect for them. It never ceases to amaze me how the witches tend to surprise me and how many layers of their traits become visible in their own stories. Fated mates excite me for any story and I love how that turned out here. With every witch story, we get to see about new creatures too, so here we get to see berserkers and their culture. As the War looms on the horizon they need all the help they can get.

As always writing is awesome and keeps me hooked to it. I enjoyed every line and spice is too hot to handle in many places. The violence, the chasing, everything is completely justified and I see it as beautiful. It’s incredible to see how everything turns out in the end. It’s heartwarming to see how Makhi and Fin are accepted in the coven with open hearts and they see them as family. A lot is to happen and it’ll be freaking awesome to see how they all will kicka**es of the leaders.

It’s a 4.5⭐️ for me.

I love Willow 🔥 she has the power of fire alongside fire in her blood, she’s a true warrior. She’s made for her bestial berserker, the brood leader who doesn’t acknowledge the weak. Looking for allies to help her coven, Willow enters the trials to have the right to an audience with Toric. We discover another species with its traditions, where only the strong survive and honour is everything.
Willow is haunted by her mother's actions, throughout the trials she discovers who she truly is. Toric is intrigued by this witch who challenges him with her beautiful eyes.

As time goes by, Toric began to respect Willow’s strength and power, in a way she’s his equal and he will prove it. They’re truly made for each other, he subdues his fire witch and she reveals his need to change and adapt to strengthen his brood.

I loved everything in this book, the tension, the battle - it is one of my favourites from the series. And I’m more and more curious about Cass's story 😍

This series is one of my favourites, it keeps getting better and better. I love Amara’s writing so much and am always immediately consumed by the details and world she has built. I love we got to see a bit more of it in this book and how the coven is expanding and meeting new allies along the way.
I adore the coven and all the women in it, they’re all incredibly strong and bad@ss. Willow was no exception, her strength and determination was incredible, as was her need to help and protect both the coven and the brood.
Toric is the perfect mate for her, he can understand her and matches her with his need to protect those around him.
I’m enjoying the collection of mates the coven are gathering and love seeing the interactions of them all together.
The spicy scenes were 🔥🔥 yet again. Highly recommend this book and series to anyone.
Can’t wait for the next book and Greer’s story.

Hands down, this is my favourite book of the series (so far) it's beautiful and intense. It's a book about finding what you need in the most unlikely place.

Willow has been carrying around guilt. Some hers, some because of who her mother is. She wants nothing more than to prove to her coven, and herself, that she is worthy and useful.

Toric has been in hiding for years with his brood. Only leaving their lair to hunt, trade and for the mating fight. But that all changes when he meets Willow. Who turns his life upside down, causing him to do things he's never done before.

I loved their story. Two immortals who want to protect the people they love and end up finding love in each other.

Another page turning book in the series. And once again we get a powerful witch who goes on “quest” and finds her true mate.

Willow and Toric clash upon their first meeting because she needs the berserkers to help overthrow the Elders and doesn’t know their ways. She needs to prove her worth to gain respect and an audience.

Well you can guess that their mated bond proves rather fun when all they want to do is come together and satisfy their itches. But both have duties that are roadblocking their HEA.

Willow is a badass who will have you glad she’s on the good side. And Toric is more level headed than I expected though he is not weak and will prove it time and again.

I LOVE this series absolutely love it. It’s quickly becoming my drug of choice and I am not made about it. This is the third book in the Immortal Coven series and each book follows one of the witches in the coven. Inferno is Willow and Toric’s story

Willow is fire witch with a personality to match while Toric is brutal, hot AF berserker. The heat between these two is off the charts and I could not put this book down. The spice as always was primal and in my opinion PERFECT. Greer’s story is next and I’ll be desperately waiting because it can NOT come quick enough.

back in the immortal coven! at first, i was worried that i won't remember the past books except knowing that this series is VERY steamy. but i didn't have to because i forgot how easy is it to write this author's writing style and also, a quick recap on the previous books and couples without info dumping. however, this wasn't a full 5-star because at times, i found myself skimming a bit and lost a bit of the feels/chemistry of Willow and Toric (love his name btw), and wth is that final battle? Might as well just skip it ...

-PNR
-Fire witch Willow/full berserker Toric
-age gap XD (200+ year hero/44 heroine)
-virgin hero!!
-i wish there was more scene with the younglings (but alas, we can't have everything)
-Dreth T__T I cried
-steam: spit, spanking, rough, bondage
