Less than a year ago, Katy Lattimer's life went topsy-turvy when the county commissioners named her Boone County Sheriff after the corrupt one unexpectedly died. Since then, she's been running on caffeine and prayers. She has zero time for a life outside of work, but what's a girl to do when a sexy—and oh so nice—cowboy decides he wants to get to know her better? Especially when her body wakes up and takes notice of a man for the first time in years? And did she mention he was nice? And sexy? The man is damn near irresistible. She can't help but wonder, though, if she can she give him the time he deserves and still do her job to the best of her abilities.
Jasper Hendriks spent most of his adult life raising his kid sister after their mom died. Free to pursue any avenue he wants now that Megan is in college, he discovers he's happy where he is as a ranch hand on the Stone Creek and as a search and rescue tracker for state and local authorities. Well, happy with everything except for one thing: he wants someone to share it with. He's always wanted a wife and a family of his own, but never really thought about what that might look like. Not until Katy Lattimer entered his life. Now, he can envision that life with her. But can he handle the dangers of her job?
Ashley A Quinn has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Katy and Jasper. Katy is the sheriff of Pine Ridge and Jasper is a tracker for the search and rescue team. Katy has to go out to the Stone Creek Ranch to get Jasper for a call of a couple missing. When they get to where the trail is, Katy tells Ray to take over since he knows more than she does. She is going to go with Jasper since she has medical training in case it is needed. Katy and Jasper get their gear and head out. They come across a landslide and they are able to cross it and reach the other side. It is not long after that they find the missing couple. They know the couple is Kayla and Derek. When Katy and Jasper find the couple, Derek is in bad shape. He has a badly broken leg and is in a lot of pain. Jasper asked Kayla what happened to keep her mind off her husband while Katy looks him over. Kayla tells him that they saw the landslide and were trying to walk around it but Derek tripped. Katy calls Ray and tells him the couple had been found but that Derek needed the chopper to get out since he had a broken leg. She tells Ray that Jasper has a smoke canister and will set it off once they hear the inbound chopper. He tells her that he will get it to her right away. Once Katy and Jasper take care of getting Derek's leg in a splint she gives him something for the pain. Once the couple is taken care of and off to the hospital, Katy and Jasper go back down the trail. She goes and talks to Ray and Jasper comes up to her and tells her that she had done well. She is back in her office and signs up for a conference on rescue for the following week. Before she completes it, she calls Ray into her office and asked him if he would be willing to handle things for her while she was gone. Also if he knows of any one of the deputies who wanted overtime. He tells her that he does and will go and talk to them. Ray tells her that he would handle things while she was gone. She completes the payment and is registered for the conference. Jasper sees her and tells her about the conference and asked if she was going. When she tells him she is, she asked if he was going. He tells her that he is speaking there and has been for the past few years. He asked since she was going, was she flying or driving. When she said she was driving, he suggested they drive together since they were both going. Things change between them at the conference and they kiss. They don't discuss it then because Katy asked not to so that she can deal with everything she is learning. Once they get back home, things between them heat up and she doesn't think she can handle her job as sheriff and a relationship. They start talking and spending a little time together when they can but her job keeps them apart as she is so busy. Things are going fine until she goes on a call and gets shot. Her vest keeps her safe but she is a little sore and this upsets Jasper. Will Katy and Jasper work things out and become a couple? This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Katydid is another 5 star story in the Ashley Quinn series. This series is becoming a big favorite of mine! I love the characters; the romance; the relationships; the friendships and even the drama/suspense. The fourth book is about Jasper and Katy. Katy became the new sheriff after the corrupt one ended up dying. She was surprised they chose her but she hasn’t had many problems since being hired. Jasper is a ranch hand who works on Asa’s ranch and he’s also a search and rescue expert. These two get thrown together a few times in this story because of search and rescue missions. Katy decided she needs to attend a conference coming up and realizes that Jasper is speaking at the conference. They end up driving together and staying in the same hotel across the hall from each other. I love how caring and helpful Jasper was though. Katy has a tiring and dangerous job plus her past military experience made her hesitant to jump into a relationship. Jasper was always by her side or always around when she needed him. He was a pretty great book boyfriend and Katy was a pretty badass officer.
Katy is the very hard working town Sheriff and Jasper is a local Rancher and part of the Search and Rescue team. They know each other a little, but when they both help out on a rescue they realise that they like each other. This is a slow burn, caring relationship. Katy is wary after losing loved ones while she was in the army and doesn’t think her job will allow her the time a relationship needs. Jasper know that he wants to settle down and as far as he is concerned there is no one else but Katy. He is very patient with her. There is a little suspense in the book involving Jasper’s sister. This was not my favourite in the series, a bit too simple for me, but I did still enjoy it and you got little glimpses of previous characters.
Jasper Hendriks raised his sister who is now in college which frees up a little of his time. He is a ranch hand who also does search and rescue. When a couple turns up missing, Sheriff Katy Lattimer goes with him to look for the couple since she has some medical training.
They found them in a landslide and the man was badly hurt. A helicopter had to be called. Being with Katy put Jasper’s mind on what he wanted most, to find someone special to share his life with. When Katy gets shot on the job, although kept safe by her vest, it makes Jasper wonder with Katy’s dangerous job, if he can risk his heart like that? Will they find their HEA? Will he ask her to compromise? Or is he not ready to take a chance where he could lose her?
OMG!! Another 5 star read by Ashley Quinn in this series. I love Katy and Jasper from the minute these two go on a rescue together, let the attraction and fun begin. I love that Jasper calls her Katydid!!! These two are enjoyable to read and are now my new favorite couple in this series. The honesty and support this couple has/gives each other adds another element to the story. The trouble surrounding Jasper's sister and how they work together when it comes to a head adds all the good feels. You will love this book and once you start reading you won't want to put it down. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

Kudos to the author for writing an amazing story. The main characters in the story are so well developed and relatable. Jasper is a really good guy, caring, funny, and sexy. He works as a ranch hand, also a search and rescue tracker, content with his life, but after raising his sister Megan, he wants a family of his own. Katy is the new sheriff in town, she is ex-military, retired disabity from an IED (she was an explosive expert) and is afraid of getting close to anyone. Jasper is not one to give up. I do not want to give anything away and recommend picking up this book as it is a very enjoyable, moving, and captivating story. I could not stop reading until I finished it.

When you have an OMG moment and realize that you love someone like Katy did, you as a reader then think man why can't I have that in real life. That is what Ashley A. Quinn made me feel when I was reading this book.
We have Katy who is the new sheriff and Jasper who is a tracker for Search and Rescue. These two come together to search for missing hikers. There is some insta-chemistry, when they go to a training convention.
They start dating and as they progress, in their relationship, they realize that they both love each other and will make it work.
For a slow burn romance that will make your heart melt, you really need to read this series.
This is the first of this series I have read and it's so good that I have bought the first one so I can start at the beginning! Katy can't be vulnerable. After serving in the military, and now as the new sheriff, she has to prove herself tough enough to get the job done. Responding to search for missing hikers she meets Jasper. Jasper works as a ranch hand and also does search and rescue. The attraction between them is instant. Will he stay around long enough for her to realize love doesn't make her weak?.

Katy is the ex-military vet/sheriff and Jasper does search and rescue as well as working on a ranch. When searching for a lost couple, they get to know each other and even more when they go to the same conference. Loved the characters, their entertaining situations, and strengths. Plenty of drama and danger to keep you hooked, as well as steam and family issues. Totally enjoyed the storyline and ending.

Katy is the new sheriff of Pine Ridge. I love how strong she is and how she has pushed through so much that has happened in her life as a veteran. Jasper is a rancher and also a search and rescue responder. Whew this is so good. I loved this also because it gives more story and not explicit scenes. This is number 4 in the series.

Took me ages to read this book I couldn't get into it for some reason so I stopped and weeks later came back to it as I have read the three books before and was 40% into this one.so took time to remember characters but that was but doing.I like the small town and jasper is wonderful even Katy is nice I just could not get into this one something was missing I think. The ending was great a HEA poor Katy and the line of duty.is Megan next?
This is a sweet old fashioned love story. Jasper and Katy were both interesting characters and the story was good. This wasn't for me as I like my romances with more steam and chemistry instead of loving glances.

This is a sweet love story that will make your heart melt. Katy and Jasper are both busy in their careers. When a rescue brings them together, a fire starts to burn. There are a few choices to make where the heart lies and other dangers that make this an entertaining story from the start.

Katy is the newly appointed sheriff, trying to prove herself to her town and in some ways to herself. Jasper has a huge crush and soon finds ways to spend time with the reluctant Katy.
This is a fun story with some steam and suspense. I loved Jasper and the way he was all in to their relationship. I'm looking forward to the next story!!
A nice sweet romance that has some spice in it, but not so much as to give you heartburn. The characters are developed and likable, but. Yeah, there's always a but. Maybe I was just thrown off because it's the female with the toughest baggage to carry and not the male for a change. All in all, a good romance from an author with a flowing style of script.
Ex military, Katy was appointed as sheriff over Ron who had been there longer. She was a good team leader, recognising her own shortcoming, appointing Ron to direct a rescue operation while she teamed up with an excellent tracker to find a lost child. Mutual respect made for an unexpected development. A good story nicely told.
Katy, the sheriff in Pine Ridge, is a workaholic and does not take time for a personal life. Former military police experience and seven years as deputy make her well qualified for her position. Nevertheless, she still tried to prove herself to her deputies. Along come Jasper and a personso life develops. Good story.
Another great read in this amazing series. Jasper and Katy’s story is enjoyable and down to earth. Start with book 1 and read the series…you won’t regret it.
Katy Lattimer, the newish Boone County Sherriff is working overtime learning her new responsibilities. Does she have time to let Jasper Hendriks in her life?
