The Xperience Factory's Sucket List

Rate this book
The Xperience Factory’s Sucket List is the manifestation of a surging underground movement ignited by Coop, a suicidal man who feels alive only when he attempts to kill himself.

Published as an annual catalog for the premier business specializing in arranging extraordinary adventures, Coop’s evolution from a couch potato to a legendary daredevil is chronicle through each advertisement of its top fifteen ventures and its customers’ reviews. The fourth wall separating the readers from the characters is torn down page by page within this book. Without this usual barrier, readers go beyond just taking in a novel; they become part of the phenomena motivating millions to live their best lives.

While Coop’s story of reclaiming happiness and rediscovering his soul is uniquely death-defying and bold, readers still end up relating to his struggles because they, too, grapple with the same struggles in their own lives. Readers find a kindred spirit in Coop and the other characters that made The Xperience Factory through this connection.

For these reasons, it is not surprising that after so many consume this groundbreaking read, they join the movement and take on incredible journeys themselves, creating their own life-worthy experiences.

E Foster B is an American contemporary author of transgression fiction. Before he started writing, he was a bartender who served some of the most interesting unknowns and knowns that inhabit this world. Through listening to them tell their life stories (some real, some fiction), E Foster B became captivated by the art of storytelling, as he watched people hang on to each word of a great story, bracing to hear “what happened next.” Now, after accumulating a few of his own experiences, which sadly included witnessing the tragedy of humanity, he has blended them into his passion for storytelling, which he hopes will bring awareness to the serious issues plaguing our world.

A Failure at Failing

The book is written in a unique style, with fifteen episodes with viewpoints other than the protagonist Davis B Cooper. Despite this, it is easy to read and bit by bit it becomes evident what is happening, but not how it will conclude.

Cooper is suicidal. His job stinks, his wife committed suicide, and he failed at his own attempt. A chance meeting at the bank with Rudy leads to a series of life-changing events. Being a failure at failing means that despite the odds being against him, he always survives, and bit by bit, his reputation grows. Surviving where others don’t, builds followers to the movement, those who feel their lives suck and they have nothing to lose. This underclass grows and life for Coops is a series of challenges.

Because this is not a simple narrative, the reader has to work, but the rewards are there to enjoy. It is a book for the underdog.

This isn’t a book you read. It’s a movement you join. E foster B changed my life - with a novel – a work of fiction! I felt so isolated and desperate this past year. Randomly, I saw a video story about this author on social media about a depressed man who plays the lottery. In my condition back then, I felt compelled to watch it. I ended up loving the video so much that I did research and found this book, which details the transformation of a depressed couch potato into an adrenaline junkie. Much like the main character, I felt motivated to change my life as I read the pages. I realized that being special means getting up and doing things special. Then I realized that I was a part of something special, greater than myself, which this book illustrates in every chapter. Depending on your circumstances, you might not get the same motivation I got reading this novel. However, I know the book will make you think as it entertains the heck out of you, too.

Entertaining read with a unique premise

I really enjoyed this book and would have given it five stars except it unraveled a bit in the last few chapters. Even so, this was one of those books that I read straight through, only putting it down a couple of times.

What I liked: the idea of a religion centered around extreme risk taking, the way the characters told their story (through ratings), the story itself and the character development Al ng the way.

What needs work: The last three or four chapters. The editing kinda fell apart here. The story got a little muddled, there were some typos and mistakes with quotation marks, and sometimes I couldn't figure out who was talking in the dialogue bits. And how Skyler got his comeuppance was a bit confusing and anticlimactic. But I still really enjoyed reading this book and would definitely recommend it.

The Xperience Factory's Sucket List is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece for real. No joke! While I was lost initially, I fell in love with the confusion as I read on. Eventually, it made sense and inspired me to question my life. What am I doing? I should push towards my dreams. I will die one day, and I don't want to go without experiencing this world to its fullest. This book didn't just break down so many walls of the standard novel; it also broke down walls in my own life. Yes, other readers might dismiss it like, "blah blah blah, whatever - "live each day as if it were your last." But did these readers honestly dive into that slogan? Probably not, because this book is a mirror to that phrase. If you dare look and read this book, you are forced to come to terms with your own life in every way.

Great fun and entertaining read

Read this book with little expectations. Unfamiliar with the author, but glad I got a chance to read this wee crafted tale. Very reminiscent of Fight Club. That’s a good thing. Really enjoyed the format of the chapters being done as a countdown. The idea of reviews being within each chapter written by the characters was okay and a way to move the action. Really fun read. Not a perfect read. Could benefit from a good edit. There are some moments when the internal dialogue comes off a bit confusing. Wouldn’t mention it but with so many great ideas here it is noticeable and jarring. Wished this book concluded as strongly as it began. Still fun effort.

The Xperience Factory’s Sucket List by E Foster B is not a typical novel; it was so refreshing to read. Not only is the format unique, but it breaks down the fourth wall. I had never even thought about a fourth wall in a novel before reading this book!

When I realized I am holding the product of Coop's adventure in my hand, I felt like I had connected with a character, like the character was real. So much so that I felt motivated to live my best life, which is a constant theme of the book.

For me, this book is more than just a read. It's a guide, a source of motivation that I can revisit whenever I need a boost. It's a reminder to make the most out of our fleeting lives, empowering me to take charge of my own journey.

weird and interesting

A man who has been so badly hurt by life that he feels dead inside. He wants to die, but then he meet someone who catches his interest. That someone is not just a person, she is a risk taker. An adventurer. An extreme sports lover. And she shows him a different way to live. She shows him that life isn’t all about the grind. It’s not all about bills…but being present

It’s about living each day as your last.

The part about the concept of the condom was particularly interesting and hilarious. A powerful metaphor that instantly relates to our lives. We are all living in a tightly wrapped condom intended for our protection.

An experimental thriller!

The Xperience Factory’s Sucket List by E Foster B is Ingeniously formatted as an annual catalog for a company that arranges extraordinary adventures.

The book employs a unique blend of second-person and first-person plural narratives. This rare inventive approach demolishes the fourth wall page by page, pulling you, the reader, directly into the heart of an underground movement led by the enigmatic protagonist, Coop. Making it feels less like reading a story and more like living it.

I recommend it to anyone looking for contemporary, refreshing thrillers.

Do not miss it!

A real page turner!

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started reading, “The Xperience Factory’s Sucket List, by E Foster B”, but it was a real page turner!
The MC, “Cooper”, is a grief-stricken man who hates his banking job and his cheating boss, “Skyler”. Opportunity knocks after Cooper reaches his breaking point and the Xtreme Experience breaks out!
This novel will take you on an emotional roller coaster, police clashes and unexpected turns, as Coopers past and present collide with society rules.
Very enjoyable and entertaining novel!

"The Xperience Factory’s Sucket List" tells its story in a highly-imaginitive way, through the reviews and chapter introductions of an extraordinary adventures catalog. The reader has to glean the narrative by reading these tales of extreme risk taking. What I liked about it was it tore down the fourth wall separating the reader from the characters. I think the author did a great job with this creative text that is reminiscent of Fight Club.

Relatable

This book is for anyone who ever dreaded Monday's, and wished everyday was Friday. It was easy to get into this book because Cooper's struggles and discontent with life is relatable. He was missing action and purpose and set out to create it for himself. The characters are memorable with their own drama. Wrapped in the chaos is a love story.

an unusual format but a copelling read

The book took a minute for me to get into but once I started reading I was hooked I loved the story of transformation and how the book built on the character. If you are intrested in these types of transformation tales I highly recommend this book.

The Xperience Factory’s Sucket List" counteracts conventional storytelling in the best way possible, which I didn't even think was really possible. This is a novel that makes readers want to get off their butts and live. It's the perfect story for people who have found themselves stuck in the boring grind of life.

Snarky sarcastic fiction with a point?

Yes, please!

This was a fun, light read that actually makes you think! A bunch of anti-heroes who turn out to be heroes after all. Mite not be everyone’s cup of tea, but definitely mine. I will read more!

Entertaining

The stories are entertaining, and I made it through the book pretty quickly. I'm not a big fan of fiction that breaks the forth wall. I'm not sure if the stories are showing the author's personality, but it's quite cynical.

Not an usual novel

This book is organized differently than a typical novel, also written in a wird way. But it makes so much sense today more than ever.

A bit confusing

It started a bit confusing in the beginning as it jumps through to different POV's. It does get better towards the end.
