Sandbar Season (Summer Cottage Novels Book 2) by Rebecca Regnier is just as good as the 1st book in this series!
Honestly, I'm not normally a big reader of summer or beach reads. But I have to say that I'm really enjoying this series.
The tale of a group of childhood friends reconnecting after over 30 years apart to rebuild their beloved summertime town is heartwarming.
Each book focuses on one of the 5 Sandbar Sisters as they called themselves. There are flashbacks to their pasts, childhood and their time apart, as well as their reconnection.
Really are great summer time reads. They make miss my teen years of summertime freedom and those lifelong friends!
Wow! Slammed through this book in less than 3 hours! Loved it. Hope was was one of the Sandbar sisters and although she tried many times to get ahead, her husband usually pulled the rug out from her by taking her hard-earned money and putting it towards another stupid idea! When she saw the truth of his affair in their shared photo library, combined with winning a very large purse in a national cooking contest she struck out on her own - with help from another Sandbar sister, Libby. I cheered them both on through this book and loved the ending. Getting ready to get the 3rd book in the series now!

Could another of the Sandbar Sisters be heading to Irish Hills, their summer holiday homes, for many years where they formed a tight-knit unit?
Libby has been asked by her Aunt Emma to save Irish Hills, a small community built around a lake, from a large developer who wants to turn it into a big holiday resort. Aunt Emna has cashed herself out, buying every struggling business, every cottage and building she had to, to save their community from Stirling. She got Libby there when Libby needed a challenge and a home. Can Libby do the same for Hope?
Hope, one of the Sandbar Sisters has raised 2 girls and got a husband. She has a talent for cooking and runs a small catering business. She's in a competition in Las Vegas when she gets some shocking images on her tablet. Libby arrives to offer Hope what she's dreamed of, but she needs answers now. The grant she's applied for needs firmed up plans for the retail spaces. She needs a good restaurant! Full of self-doubt, will Hope return to her happy place from her childhood?
This is a lovely romance series, and one which I've totally fallen in love with. The books are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters and story.
In my review of the first book in this series it truly did not express my feelings about the how wonderfully written the story line turned out. Now with the second it's even better
The author has given the characters a depth that makes real to the reader. It's like these characters could have been your neighbors. Think 3-D or AI mimicking real life, this is how they come to life.
Hope's story is definitely something that happens in our world so it's very relatable
If you are looking for women that are mature getting a breath of fresh air in their life then this series is for you.
This is a summer feel good story. One elderly aunt and (so far) three reunited friends are turning a small Michigan lake town back to it’s former glory. The elderly aunt may be a bit manipulative but it’s all in a very good way. The three friends, now in their fifties, haven’t seen each other since the summer of 1989. They’ve all gone off in different directions but they easily pick up their friendship again when called upon to save their little bit of summer paradise. Told with humor and passion, I highly recommend this book for a bit of a summer escape.
Loving the new author and her books . Book two behind me onto the 3rd
If you haven't already read this series I would for sure check it out. The women are smart, great at what they do and the town is coming together. Aunt Emma is a sweet fast moving 90 something one of the coolest. Each women so far has their own stories and have find each other again after 30 plus year. A very good book hard to put down.
I loved Sandbar Sisters! The second book in the Summer Cottage Novels. I live close to Irish Hills, so I love reading about that area. Friends who were summer friends 30 years ago are now reconnecting. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book!
Regnier is my new favorite author! With beautiful language, believable plots, and delightful characters, this Sandbar Series has everything for a warm and snuggly day of reading. After completing this second book so far, I’m ready to hop on the next flight to Michigan. Regnier’s style lends an ease to the imagination to picture, and be surrounded by, the enticing world of the Sandbar sisters.
A nice beach read. Love to see errant spouses/partners get comeuppance. Same for arrogant developers. Also, as an alum, enjoy the author’s references to MSU! I have a fondness for old fashioned resort areas as well as for Michigan’s many lakes. Well done.
Now we have 3 of the sandbar sisters back on the beach. Although it is 32 years later and alot of life has happened. The years and places of are past can bring us home and heal us all.
This series gets better and better with each book. I can't wait to read the next book. It's nice to pick up a book and not have to worry about if I'll need to skip pages because the content doesn't meet my moral standards.
I’ve been reading crime thrillers and Reacher novels for so many years now, I decided I wanted something different! I’m enjoying this series! Just what I wanted!!
Good characters and plot. Too much about the women's teen years and their husbands emotional abuse. But guess what ! I bought the first two books and I am about to order the next one! Got to find out what that movie star Sandbar lady is up to.
I smiled all the way through this book, and the first one. I can't wait to read the next three books. Nothing like sipping wine and reading about the Sandbar sisters.
