Where The Trail Leads

Logan’s world is shattered when he returns home from an assignment to find his beloved wife has been killed by a roaming gang of criminals. Unable to bring himself to live in their home any longer because of the painful memories it holds, he sets out on a journey to anywhere but Independence, Missouri.

The path leads him west, through Kansas and Colorado and Utah, until after months of constant movement, he’s finally forced to stay in one place for more than a few days.

Logan immediately finds trouble in Carson City by getting on the wrong side of Mike Shelley, the man who seems to own everything for miles around. Shelley intimidates everyone he comes in contact with, but Logan Wise is cut from a different cloth and he’s used to plenty of trouble in his life.

Trouble Follows the Troubled

Weary but restless, Logan travels on, letting the wind decide his direction. This time it’s blowing from the south and pushes him into the city of Golden, Colorado, in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.

After a year of running from the memories of his past, Logan is caught between a rock and hard place. His money has run out, but his restless spirit won’t let him put down roots long enough to replenish his funds.

Trouble finds him after being in town for only five minutes, and Logan begins to think that Golden is like all the other places he’s passed through. But Golden has a special problem, one that he’s uniquely qualified to solve.

Waylaid in Wyoming

Logan Wise is still drifting. This time he heads northward through the snow and cold until he ends up in Laramie, Wyoming, following an urging he doesn’t quite understand.

Once again low on funds and not too keen about traveling in the winter, Logan finds work with the Dalton James crew. Little does he know he’s landed right in the middle of a squabble with a neighboring rancher, Mac Millson.

Dalton and Mac have been feuding for so long that no one remembers why, but Logan soon finds out that’s not the worst of it. A mysterious man that puts everyone on edge has caught his attention, and as a series of events unfolds, Logan has a suspicion that Slip is involved in all the dastardly deeds.

To Bury a Ghost

After his near-death encounter in Laramie, Logan Wise is headed south, following a siren song that lures him to Salt Lake City. The man who almost killed him was headed in the same direction but seems to have vanished like a ghost.

Meeting up with his old friend Spence Riley temporarily brings Logan a sense of peace and calm, but trouble seems to follow him wherever he goes, and Salt Lake City is no exception. Shortly after arriving, a man whom he befriends turns up dead, and Logan’s senses are on high alert.

The Long Trail Home

Logan Wise is headed south, heeding Pearl Riley’s advice to follow his heart. Weary from constantly moving around, Logan is hopeful that Carson City will finally be the place where he’s able to settle down and be at peace.

Great book series

This is a series of 5 short stories (that follow each other) that are excellent to read. I enjoyed all of them. It’s great to read an old west book and not have any bad language in it, it certainly was not needed.

The series has a good storyline &was reasonably well written.

Very few books rate 5 stars so the 4 star rating means this series of books were good & definitely worth reading. I will definitely be looking for more books by Mr Moore to read. I hope you enjoy this series of books.

Great western stories

All five books kinda have the same theme. Logan Wise tries to do what's right. Then he hunts down the bad guys and almost gets killed. Then he takes time to heal and then drifts on to do it again.

A Great Read

Great story, but needed some checking. Some grammar and miss spelled words, but I did enjoy it. Hope to see more.
