Drowning in Secrets pulled me in with its unique mix of dystopian romance, mental health, and hidden superhuman abilities. I found Rainy’s struggle with anxiety especially compelling because she’s living in a society where those feelings are treated as something to hide. Her connection with Ian adds another interesting layer to the story, especially as she begins discovering that there is much more going on in Euphoria than she realized.
I really liked the idea of a world where people are denied the freedom to openly confront their mental health, while a much bigger secret is being kept from them. The combination of mystery, romance, and rebellion kept the premise intriguing, and I was curious to see what Rainy would ultimately choose. A thoughtful read for anyone who enjoys YA dystopian stories with emotional depth and a romantic element.
