I loved this book! Ty and Cassie were just freakin' adorable together, and steamy, too. The shy woman in me related to Cassie's shyness--and I would have been just as dubious as a man like Tyler Scott being truly interested in me. But the way the relationship developed, including her best friend/his favorite cousin giving the necessary pep talks/lectures/support to each of them, and the way they each discovered the real person behind the chubby beauty or hunky badass exterior, felt realistic to me. Ms. Harris did a great job of maintaining Cassie's character. (a pet peeve of mine is when a shy character suddenly becomes confident and extroverted because of true love--that's not how it works in real life) But Ty got her shyness and respected it, protected it.
Of course, he protected her physically, too. This one is a case of psychological suspense, with an unknown, downright creepy and frightening stalker, and a lot of suspects. I also love when Cassie told off the bad guy after Ty and his team at BDI rescued her (she had a big hand in rescuing herself, too, btw)--I cheered. Shy people feel things intensely, and I'm glad Ty let her vent (while having her back and supporting her, of course).
Black's Bandits is a great series. But this is one of my favorites, probably because I related to the heroine so well.

“Cassie Dixon, I think you’re a fucking siren. A beauty queen. I think you’ve got curves that don’t quit, and I ache to see them. To explore them. I don’t care if you think you’re fat, or if some dumb fuck made you think you were ugly—strike that. I do care, but only because someone hurt you. But I sure as shit don’t think you’re ugly.”

I did not waste any time to jump on Lynn Raye Harris' latest release. Black Mail was a highly anticipated book and I was not disappointed. But then again, when does Lynn disappoint?

Two extremely random things:
1. You KNOW you’re not English (and has the humor level of a child) when reading “in a while, crocodile” for the first time ever makes you laugh for five minutes straight. ^^
2. In hindsight, I should have known because everything is in the name but I had to google “vajankle” and my research history won't ever be the same again. Still don't know if I'm creeped out or if I want to laugh until I cry.

It is no surprise that I really loved Cassie and Ty. While they were pretty different people, they complemented each other so well, it was easy to just fall for them. It was amazing to see how they just brought out the best in each other. Also, their connection was so easy and natural, the chemistry was impossible to miss. They were hot and sweet--one of my favorite combinations. (+ I swear these two will have an interesting sex life. ^^)
As characters, they were really enjoyable. I was so happy that Lynn Raye Harris wrote a plus-sized heroine (she was amazing). It was relatable to read about Cassie's insecurities but also to see her grow a little more confident and teasing with Ty. Speaking of Tyler Scott, I loved him. Once the guy warms up to you, he's a true sweetheart, husband material.

I also want to mention that I am glad that I got to see and learn more about Thomas Bradley (Rascal). I have a crush on him and am (im)patiently waiting for his book, so in the meantime I live for scenes with him.

Overall, Black Mail is another great book in the Black's Bandits series. The ending was great and as always, it made me smile like an idiot because I could seriously feel Cassie and Ty's happiness. Now, I don't believe I have to say it but, I am really excited for Black Velvet--I can't wait for Dax to fall in love!

ARC received from author

Ian's boys are back. It's Tyler's turn to find his happily ever after. Cassie and he knew each other in high school, but she was a wallflower to his head football player. When his cousin, her bff, insists he go help Cassie when her life is threatened, he does not knowing that true love is right around the corner. Loved how their relationship developed. Lots of help from the Bandits to find the bad guy while Cassie and Tyler fall in love. Loved seeing Ian again even if he is a little mellow now that he's in love. Sad none of the HOT boys were needed.

Tyler & Cassie

This story is quite an eye-opening experience! The subject matter is fully acknowledged and dissected in such a fabulous way.

I love Tyler’s unexpected reaction to Cassie and her appearance. His pleasant surprise and open minded attitude is nicely refreshing. I love a man who appreciates a curvy woman and that not all women are a stick skinny size two.

This story is appreciated in the sense that each and every person has a different body shape no matter their upbringing or eating habits. Skinny doesn’t automatically equal happiness, just like money can’t buy happiness either.

I love Tyler’s method of reaffirming Cassie’s vision of herself and her self-worth, how he completely believes it which reflects back to Cassie as truth. I also love Cassie’s determination to show her followers/subscribers every woman is uniquely beautiful, no matter their circumstances. She doesn’t let her shyness and hesitation show on her channel to her subscribers, instead, she shows confidence and purpose. I love how she is able to prove her point by transforming herself with just some creative make-up and clothing.

This story is for people who can’t see past the hurtful comments by bullies and insensitive people to the mirror’s honest revelations. That with practice of Cassie’s YouTube instructions and hard earned advice, they too can transform and become proud of who they are in their own skin.

I love this story and the way the author used Tyler’s appreciation of Cassie’s curves and his pride for her success to make hers a hot, sexy journey to happiness with him!

Black Mail is one of the best stories I have read in ages, filling me with a true level of contentment in the loving HEA while still giving me a suspenseful story with action and sensuality. Ty is a man that is after my own heart for sure, giving his all for the woman that has captured not only his interest but his heart in her gentle hands and he refuses to allow her to push him away no matter how hard she resists. Cassie is pretty much 90% me and I loved seeing her bloom in her assurance and strength, giving me hope that maybe someday with the right supportive mate I might be able to do the same. She was sweet, passionate, loving, and determined to never let another person bring her down which made me love her. The heat between Cassie and Ty was an undercurrent from the very beginning, with both of them denying and/or fighting the pull, until the explosion was inevitable then there was no denying they both reveled in the change in their relationship. I am dying for the next story that Lynn is going to give us, especially if it is what was hinted at because I expect the usual heat, humor, sweetness and love that makes Ms. Harris one of my favorite authors and definitely one that I never miss a release from. If you are looking for a sensual read to while away a hot spring day, I highly recommend Black Mail, along with a full pitcher of ice cold water!

I was totally in love with Cassie and Ty from the moment the door closed in his face lol but then you toss in A Discovery of Witches and Doctor Who and wow I’m now over the top besotted with both of them.
Ty and Cassie are both sweethearts and seriously just fit together… But and yes there is a but…lol but it’s not about them as a couple that I see as solid even with the baggage they both carry they will figure that out the but is for who is after Cassie?
Someone is stalking sweet Cassie and doing it very well it has Ty and BDI stymied but let’s hope they catch a break before the stalker makes his move.

What an incredible story! I fell in love with Ty and Cassie. Ty is unbelievably protective of Cassie. He does everything in his power to build her up. It was wonderful watching Cassie morph into her true self. This book was empowering and uplifting. It also continued to have the alpha essence and camaraderie of Black’s Bandits. Next to Ian’s book this is one of my favorite Black’s Bandits books. Such incredible writing.

Black Mail📦

Black Mail is the sixth book in the Black’s Bandits series and features Ty and his cousin’s best friend, Cassie😍

Kari enlists Ty’s help when it appears that Cassie is receiving threatening emails and comments on her YouTube videos. Kari explains to him that Cassie is introverted and would not ask for help. Ty arrives one day at Cassie’s door to see what she’s received and takes on her case❣️But it soon becomes clear more is underfoot than just the threatening messages and deliveries but also a spark of hope and romance between Cassie and Ty…but can she trust it after everything she’s been through?

A great story with wonderful characters and an outcome that was unexpected and I never could’ve predicted🤩 I received an advanced copy and voluntarily leave my honest review❤️

"He was perfect, and he didn't even know it. She was just as much in danger of falling in love with him as she had been when she'd been a teenager."

I loved, loved, loved this story!! Full-size girls represented!!

I loved Ty and Cassie! They were so perfect together, even if she needed some convincing of that fact! I know how she feels - being a full-size candy bar myself, I struggle with my self-image. I loved that she used her Vlog to bolster her self-confidence and encourage others like us to do the same. You own it girl!!!

And Ty? Well, not only is he the ultimate protector when she finds herself the target of a possible stalker, the threats growing increasingly worrisome, but he is the ultimate man is every way possible. He loves her vulnerabilities, her strength, her luscious curves, and will do anything for her.

But, will he be able to put a stop to the threats and figure out who is behind it all before it's too late?

I have loved this series from book 1 and I have fallen in love with each and every character. I'm adding Ty and Cassie to my list! If you haven't read this series, what are you waiting for? If you have, you are going to love this one too!!

There was so much to love about this! Cassie was adorable and sweet and so utterly loveable. Ty was the quintessential alpha male with a sweet streak. The chemistry worked really well here. Oh and catching up with the rest of the Bandits was, as usual, the cherry on top

What can I say about Tyler and Cassie as a couple? They are cute, sweet, funny and hot! I think Ty is the perfect guy to bring out the vixen in shy Cassie. They complement each other and I adore them as a couple!
I love this book! Most of the BDI guys are present and I just love a good reunion!
Another winner for Lynn Raye Harris!!!

I really wanted to like this book

I'll start off with the positives: The MMC is great, the writing is great, the editing is great. But I can't stand the FMC. I get being insecure about your weight and being painfully shy, but she will not stop talking about it. It's to the point where she needs significant therapy. She is constantly ruining every good moment between them with her diatribes about how she's not perfect. By 44% I didn't even care who the big bad was anymore, I just had to escape her incessant whining.

Arc, for an honest review.

Years, years and years ago in the HOT world, Ian was introduced then not long after his team was. They were mysterious and intriguing. And you couldn't wait to jump into their world. Honestly it's hard to have a favorite buuuuutttt Ty is undoubtedly one of my fav's.
You get so attached to any one of Lynn's men and you absorb in the story and it takes you away.
Ty was that for me. He was protective, valued her and took care of Cassie. He was a moth to her flame. She's insecure which is understandable but he doesn't see what she see's and it was beautiful.

3 1/2*

This is Ty and Cassie’s story. Nowhere near the action, suspense and excitement of prior books in this series. Cassie’s self image was pretty bad and at times it got annoying that no matter how often Ty assured her she was sexy and beautiful, she kept doubting him. It also feels that the author went a bit overboard with Ty being so concerned about triggering Cassie, of giving her all the time she needed before ending up in bed. He came off as being a bit hard to believe.

Lynn Raye Harris has done it again.

I just can't get enough of these books. Even though LRH is a prolific writer she is able to ensure that no 2books are alike.

Strong central characters with just enough flaws to make them realistic. LRH is able to use a characters flaws as their greatest strength in the long run. We all know it will be a happy ending, but enjoy to that conclusion.

Black Mail

For me, this book wasn’t as good as the previous ones. Really no action and suspense like you see in her other books. I also had a hard time with Cassie and her nonstop body issues. While Ty tried so many times, it just became old to me where I started skimming halfway through. While I liked Ty, I so could have done without Cassie and her nonstop insecurities.

I love her books but

I always like Lynn's books but this was not my favorite. I knew who was the bad guy very early on and I while I think big beautiful women should be represented I did not really care for Cassie. The storyline was slow

Black Mail is book six in Lynn Raye’s Black’s Bandits series. Except for Ian’s book (number five in the series), I did not enjoy that formula used in the first four books: overly patient MMCs lacking alpha characteristics, and simpering FMCs with a penchant for throwing themselves at the MMC. So, although I was hesitant to continue the series, thinking that it will revert to form following book five, I decided to pick it up over this weekend. I am so glad I did.

Ty and Cassie grew up in the same town, and she was his cousin’s BFF. However, Cassie had issues back then, so although they were in each other’s orbit, they did not really know each other. In fact, Ty could not even remember who Cassie was when his cousin asked him to investigate who was harassing her. Anyway, in this book, Ty agrees to reach out to Cassie just to get his cousin off his back, but when he sees one of her YouTube videos, he is intrigued from the start. Ty realizes soon enough that Cassie is “the one”, and he understands that, over and above dealing with the harassment/stalker, it is going to take a lot of effort to change how Cassie sees herself. See, Cassie is overweight and an introvert, so her self-esteem is very much battered, But Ty is a smart guy, and he knows that all the effort will be worth it in the end.

We’ve gotten to know Ty over the first five books, and he is one of the good guys, so it was great to see him get his HEA. I liked that Ty was the type of MMC who knew what (or who) he wanted, and he was not going to let anything stand in his way, not even Cassie’s poor body image. Ty was so patient with Cassie while at the same time showing his possessive side, and that was fun to see. However, Cassie’s body image was extremely poor, and although I understood her doubts at some level, it got too much at times. Fortunately, Cassie eventually saw the light and came to the party. I also appreciated that Cassie—unlike the FMCs in books one to four—did not overshare intimate details with women she just met. Yes, she had her issues on the one side, but on the other side she had a very likeable personality. I enjoyed both Ty and Cassie’s characters and will not mind reading their story again at some point in the future.

The relationship developed at a good pace. All the angst we got was on Cassie’s side because she couldn’t believe that Ty, the boy she had a crush on in her teens, would be interested in her. But he definitely was, and the chemistry and steam between them were HOT. That’s another thing I liked about this book: it had more steam than the others, but it was well written and not at all overpowering. It also served to show Cassie’s development arc, and how she grew in confidence.

The suspense moved along at a good pace. We did not get lots of action like we did in Ian’s book; this one aligned more to the first four books where there was action, relationship building, and then the final action. Although, in this one, the author notched the suspense up with every parcel, comment, and email that Cassie received from her stalker, and that was riveting. I also appreciated that Cassie did not suffer too much (like in the FMCs in previous books) at the hand of her stalker.

One thing that made me roll my eyes was that, like the other women—except for Natasha—Cassie tended to speak softly or “whispered” sometimes, but that’s a me problem, and it did not take away from my enjoyment of the book (much). I really liked this one and will be moving on to the next book in the series.

God this series just gets better and better. It feels like we just got Ian’s book and now we have Ty’s and I could not be happier! I knew I was going to like Ty’s book so much just from the brief little bits we got of him in Ian’s book, but I honestly loved this book so much. Not that that really surprised me, I don’t think Lynn could write a book that I’d hate, especially a HOT/BANDIT one.

This book is lighter than others in some ways and definitely not in other ways. For one, there’s no terrorists or human traffickers, but it does deal with the issue of fat-shaming.

I didn’t really know how I was gonna feel with the main girl being portrayed as a bigger girl, especially because you don’t see that written often in books and when you do, it’s usually not done well, but of course Lynn knocked it out of the ball park and did it so much justice. The issues addressed were very realistic and it was so nice to see a big girl shine in a book and not be a throw-away side character.

Now onto the juicy stuff!

Ty is a sweetheart, that’s what I want to first say. He’s so caring and sweet and soft and romantic and handsome and tall and muscly and has dark hair and blue-green eyes and has some tattoos. He’s pretty perfect not gonna lie. And he’s so protective of Cassie and so understanding and patient. Ugh, literally perfect.

Cassie, who is considered to be a plus size girl, is a pretty successful makeup YouTube who keeps climbing in subscribers. But one video not only got her a viral reaction, which started her climb in subscribers, but it also got her some not so nice reactions. The usual fat shaming comments were appearing a bit more than usual. Oh, and she got kicked off a group project because the client just so happens to be the makeup company that her girl video was about, and let’s just say her opinions weren’t on the approving side of the products.

Now Cassie is getting some pretty serious threats and some pretty inappropriate things sent to her home and her work, and she has no clue who’s doing it. Cue Ty to the rescue.

Honestly Ty and Cassie’s relationship was so freaking cute to read! Ty knew immediately what he wanted and was not afraid to let Cassie know either. And he was not afraid to reassure her and help kick down her insecurities by letting her know that she was gorgeous and beautiful. I could easily list everything I love about Ty again, but you can just scroll up a couple paragraphs and revisit it to save some time!

There is a bonus epilogue (if you preordered anyway, I’m not sure when it’s coming out for regular purchases) and it was so cute! Little update on some of the previous couples, Ian and Natasha have gotten married and now have two children (Daria and there newborn), Colt and Angie are still engaged but getting married soon, and Libby and Jared are expecting! In the bonus epilogue we learn that Cassie and Ty are engaged and about to get married, but the most exciting news is they are also expecting! I loved getting to see Ty’s reaction, it was so cute!

Anyways, the next HOT book comes out in June and it’s Noah’s and now we have Dax’s book coming out in September (which I am very excited for)! If you’re a subscriber of the newsletter you’ll know Shade has been wanting his own book for a while, so we’ll see if there’s any announcements with either of these two upcoming books!

PLOT: not really much. Damsel being stalked.
FMC: In desperate need of intensive therapy. Obsessed with plus size and terrified of the imagined opinions of others. Reads much, much younger than the stated age of 30. More like 20.
MMC: Straining at the bit to be all alpha all.the time. Despite lots of damage, comes off as much younger than the professed age, like the FMC. Lots of talk about his terrible memories, but it's not really shown through his actions. Just words.
SPICE: Holy guacamole. Could have used a good bit more of that.

Overall, this read like it was written for a much younger market. And as much as I'm all about positive body image, by 12% I was quite done with the FMC's total obsession with her body image. Just WOW.

I also couldn't figure out the attraction. The MMC talks quite negatively about the female lead early in their meetings. He views her videos and announces her really plain and unattractive, until she puts on makeup. This was a big turn-off even when he later revised his opinion. I didn't connect with the MMC. His character seemed thin with just some sad stories to give it body. He wasn't me toned much in the previous books outside of some action, so there wasn't much to build here.

Of course this is a work of fiction. But I need for the story to have some amount of realism. There are several points that defy that. During an inner monologue, the FMC questions how the MMC is able to pick up her mail. She decided it must have something to do with the CIA, since she knows the postal service wouldn't just let anyone pick up her mail. Huh? That statement was so crazy that it threw me off for a bit. Anyone literally can pick up your mail! Then, after the bad guys (multiple?) were ID'd, one who had sent her $ex toys to her house and to her office just sorta walked away from it. What? He almost got her fired, and lied about it, but no repercussions? These may seem like something little, but a good editor should have pointed out things like these.

The story was kind of muddled with multiple people trying to bring her down. That's a trope that doesn't work for me. It makes the female lead just a sad victim, and damn, this girl did not need any more victimy attributes. She was a real sad sack.

I stopped reading this several times then came back to finish it off. It wasn't for me.

This is book six in the Black's Bandits series

Meet the ever so shy and plus-size girl with very little confidence Cassie Dixon

Cassie Dixon never thought that she was likely to succeed in any job or anything she wanted to do in life. Suddenly she moved to the big city where she thought she was safe and decided to launch her own YouTube channel on the side of her full time job. The YouTube channel helped her find confidence as she had struggled with her weight all her life and still wasn't comfortable with it.

However her YouTube channel receives threats and so much unwanted attention and also there were some very viscous comments. Cassie decided that she wanted to keep copies of the messages by printing them off so she could look back on them if she ever decided to go to the police and report them. However no-one takes Cassie's safety seriously. She thought that the police would help track down whoever was doing this too her but she was totally wrong they wouldn't help her. That's when her best friend asked her cousin to step in and protect her.

Meet the ever so sexy, decorated and former Marine and broody BDI agent Tyler Scott

Tyler groans as he is bugged by his most favourite cousin who is practically a sister to him as they grew up close.
Ty seems to have returned from a mission and that's when his cousin rings him to help her out. He doesn't realise yet that her cousin's friend is so deep in danger that he reluctantly agrees to go and see her to see what the problem / danger she's in.

However Ty doesn't remember Cassie from all those years ago from High School, then suddenly he feels he's realising that he's more than likely hooked on Cassie after he looks into those passionate and trouble lovely green eyes.

However Ty realises that he has to fight to protect Cassie from the danger surrounding both of them and then hopefully he will fight hard for her heart. Ty realises he's fallen hard.

Ty realises now more than ever that someone who was once close to Cassie now wants her to suffer and killed. The person who wants Cassie dead have a plan in which case it's a foolproof one too.

Can Ty rescue Cassie in time and admit to her that he's head over heals, hook, line and sinker in love with her?
Can Cassie trust and believe her High School crush to protect and save her? Can she give her hear to Ty?
Can Ty get Cassie to see how beautiful she is no matter her size. Ty loves her curves and her self-conscious self.

Will they be in it for the long haul or will they drift apart?

Another action packed and gripping story in the “Black Bandit” series! Ty was a favorite of mine, especially from “Black Heart” and I’m so glad he finally got his story.

After his cousin asks him several times, he checks in on her best friend, Cassie, who has been getting harassed online by some body shamers on her YouTube channel. Cassie has always been quiet and unsure of herself but her YouTube channel has been a way for her to come out of her shell and thrive. Ty and Cassie have known each other for most of their lives but Ty has trouble remembering her. Cassie would always blend in the background and Ty shined in the forefront. But after seeing her again and realizing that the person making these comments means business, he offers to help and protect her.

I loved Ty and Cassie together! As a fellow introvert, Cassie was so relatable to me on a personal level. I instantly connected with her insecurities as well as her strengths. I loved how protective Ty was of Cassie from the beginning. Even if he never developed feelings for her, he wanted her to be safe because he’s a good guy. That’s something I will always want in a male lead character in a book. Ty and Cassie were super sweet and hot together and the spicy scenes were turned up a level. We got to check in with the other Bandits and I loved reading all the updates on how they were doing. I can't wait for more from this series.

Yay an actual curvy girl heroine and not just a tall heroine/carrying a few extra pounds. Cassie just grabbed my heart and went with it. As a fellow big girl, I could totally see where see came from with her Cassandra Persona, we all need that alter ego who lets you fake it till you make it!

Cassie has been making a go of her Youtube and TikTok channels but someone seems to have it out for her. One of her day job's biggest clients hate her after she gave a truthful but negative review of their products. Now she's getting threatened. But is it the client, the no-good ex, or a truly unknown enemy?

Ty can't remember Cassie from school - a true testament to how much of a wallflower she truly was. But when he sees the trouble she has found herself immersed in he can't help but lend a hand. Cassie is everything Ty never thought he wanted but he's falling for her. If he could only get her to believe it!

Ty and Cassie are the classic extrovert/introvert, jock/shy girl pairing. Cassie is timid until she's not. When she knows that she has back up she can roar like a lion! Ty never felt that he was enough for his dad so he can understand some of Cassie's anxieties but he never makes light of them. I loved the way the Bandits just scooped Cassie up and made her one of them. I must admit I just kept imagining Alicia McCavell and her hubby Scott (from TikTok) as Ty and Cassie - LOL

Learning to Believe

Tyler Scott is a BDI operative. Previously an active US Marine he now works Private Security with Ian Black's team. He's just back from a harrowing overseas mission (see Black Heart). He's trying to rest when his cousin Kari (closest he has to a sister) enlists him to help her BFF, Cassie, who has an apparent stalker. Ty is a large, confident, handsome alpha male. He doesn't really want to help a woman he barely remembers from high school, but for Kari, he'll do it. And once he meets Cassie again, he never looks back. Once again, Ms. Harris has created a suspenseful mystery. This time the story is steeped in domestic and emotional issues. Cassie is a big, beautiful woman. She's an introvert working behind the scenes for an event planner. To personally work on her own insecurity she has a YouTube channel showing make-up and fashion tips encouraging big women to see themselves as beautiful. Now if Cassie can just take her own advice. Ty realizes between Cassie's job and her YouTube sessions she's attracted trouble. The story follows this loveable couple through personal growth and defensive protection. Ty is a wonderful, caring and considerate man, exactly what the shy, insecure but loving Cassie needs. This is an absorbing mystery, tied into a beautiful, patient and rewarding love story. Terrific insight to both the personal and dangerous aspects of their relationship, and themselves.

Cassie & Tyler

First, this is the first book I've read in the series (won't be the last I'm going back for them all). It was a wonderful read without having read the others so Standalone--for sure.

Cassie has spent her life trying to deal with her weight insecurities. Moving away from her cruel mother, she's got a good job and has found a way to feel pretty along with her online channel. When she begins getting dangerous comments and emails her cousin steps in. It seems her high school crush is out of the Marines and works for a security agency. He is her BFF's cousin and adores her. When she asks him to check on Cassie he does and is hooked.

He may not have noticed her in school but he sure is noticing now. He's gonna get to the bottom of her threats and then he's gonna make her his. That is if they both make it through and find the stalker.

You'll need a fan and iced drink for this one--the steam level is a 10 out of 10! I loved watching Cassie come out of her shy side into a more confident beautiful woman with the help of a hot, amazing man who not only wanted her but vowed to help her believe in herself.

Danger, steam, a loyal team and spouses, intrigue, a captivating story make me want the rest of the series. A strong recommendation for this one.

Although I’m a huge fan of this entire series, this book is going to always be a favorite for me. Cassie is the sweet, shy, introverted best friend of Kari. She prefers to be in the shadows and not in the spotlight. Years of being ‘overweight’ and not society’s idea of ‘perfect’ has taken a toll on her self-confidence. But she starts a youtube channel that focuses on how the right lighting, makeup and clothes can make anyone a bombshell and worthy even though she doesn’t feel it herself. When she attracts a stalker, Kari enlists her cousin Ty to help. Although he only vaguely remembers her, Cassie had a huge crush on him back in high school. As Ty takes a look at her channel and starts spending time with her, he realizes she is definitely someone he wants to spend time with, even after the stalker is found. And Cassie starts to realize although she thought he was perfect in high school, the star of the football team, things aren’t always as they seem for either of them. As they both work on their issues, a beautiful love story unfolds. You get the action and adventure you expect from this series and the BDI group, but it also highlights some areas that brings out not only a beautiful love story, but truly highlights the struggle they both have with their lives/self esteem that makes this one you’ll want to read over and over again!

Ty and Cassie Are So Sweet & Hot

Pretty plus size Cassie is a blogger with a YouTube channel where she reviews makeup & fashions and she has a growing fan base. Ty is her best friend's hunky cousin and one of Ian Black's mercenaries. (The one Natasha from Black Heart calls Th the Terrible). They all grew up together.

Cassie has acquired a stalker who is harassing her online and sending her unwanted gifts but she doesn't take it seriously. Ty agrees to help her out & do some casual investigation but he is alarmed and convinces Cassie to take this seriously. Ty did not remember her from high school but he sure finds her a knockout now!

Its bad enough that shy Cassie had a crush on Ty way back in high school (they're now 32 & 30) but she's self conscious about her round figure & does not trust Ty's interest in her. I liked how Ty was patient & kind with Cassie & didn't try to push her too fast. This is a bit of a slow burn, but when they get going, wow! They're hot.

The stalker mystery kept me going. I couldn't figure out the stalker's identity. I liked that introvert Cassie didn't suddenly turn into an extrovert because she loves Ty. She kept true to herself. And they were sexy together. Ty as a real sweetheart.

Kudos to Lynn for our beautiful Cassie & for Ty who still finds her curves sexy. 5 stars!

Lynn Raye Harris treats this real bodied heroine perfectly. Cassie is a beautiful woman how is trying to make a name for herself in her business, and she has a side hustle on YouTube. This side hustle has started to create chaos in her life, and this is where Tyler Scott renters her life.

These two know each other because they both are from the same town, and Cassie is best friends with Ty’s cousin. But Ty being older, and focused on different things, doesn’t remember Cassie. However, that all changes and changes quickly. This is a well thought out and wells structured story with the right amount of suspense to keep me engaged and happy. I adore the way Lynn Raye Harris created these characters and their relationship by making Ty fall in love with this person who has had mental hang-ups about her weight all her life because of some icky people in her past including her mother.

I LOVE the fact that Cassie doesn’t strive to be perfect, but full starts to accept herself as she is because she maintains a healthy life. It isn’t about who she could be if…. But who she is because. I have jumped around in this series, so I can tell you that you do not need to read these in order.

I had thought that perhaps after Ian’s story that the Black Bandit series would be over. Wahoo! It is still going strong with Black Mail (Black's Bandits #6) by Lynn Raye Harris. I am never disappointed with this author. She has kept this series fresh with an entirely different heroine in this story. Cassie Dixon is no femme fatale but she is a strong confident woman. That self esteem is something that she has strive to have. Now she is in danger, serious danger.

BDI operative Tyler Scott agrees to check on her to ease a family members mind. While he doesn’t remember her from high school he is captivated with her. Also he finds that the danger is real. An exciting read as Tyler and Cassie navigate social media bullying turning dangerous, along with their budding relationship. A very relevant subject done within the romance genre. All need a Tyler Scott in their corner.

Black Mail reads well as a stand-alone. Know this, like the old potato chip ad you can’t read just one. After reading one you will want to read them all. Don’t let the cheesy cover stop you from reading, Tyler is more than that.

The publisher/author gave me a complimentary ARC of the book which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
