Well, the Old Testament is a little watered down on all the bad things that happened, but it gets to the point of the stories. The New Testament is well done and has a lot of stories of Jesus. A good intro to the Bible for kids, and maybe for adults too. Let’s be real, the Bible is a complicated set of books, there is a lot we miss out on especially as westerners. Our world view is very different from those in other places. I guess that’s why we need to study the Bible New and Old Testament so much. Every study reveals something new.

A few bible stories to read: Old Testament (6), New Testament (7- includes The Christmas Story and the Easter Story) to your children. Great illustrations and simple sentences. The included CD is wonderful for the car or to listen and read along with. Perfect book to have in your collection!

Love everything about this book and its layout! Kids just starting to read can read the top line on each page and get through the whole story, while more advanced readers (or parents) can read all the lines on each page for a fully developed story. The book can be read along to the CD as well (great for roadtrips!). The illustrations are sweet, the story lengths are great, and I love the inclusion of stories from both the Old and New Testaments. I appreciated that it doesn't turn away from the crucifixion, but keeps it age appropriate so the story of Christ's sacrifice can be shared with a child without traumatizing. This is the perfect book for a quick and simple devotional with my toddler.

My four year old LOVES this book! The CD doesn't just read the book to them, it actually has music and sound affects that make the Bible stories come alive! She will sit in her room and go through the whole book by herself listening to the CD, and staying on the right page. This book is also a Dual Reader which means the top lines are at a lower reading level so the new reader can read the top of the page and mom or dad or an older sibling can read the bottom. The young reader can also read just the top lines of each page and the book still makes since. It's a must have!

Our family has read many a version of abridged Bible stories, and this sweet book remains our favorite for over 10 years. It is a wonderful compilation of Old Testament and New Testament stories, with fantastic illustrations. It has evolved well with our family as an easy reader for the new reader, and a delightful read for the older child in all of us :-) .

This is awesome. It is a "duel reader" with two different reading levels. This really makes the Bible more accessible for smaller kids! My children couldn't stop reading!
