This volume highlights the training and education that FAOs experience in the U.S. and around the globe every day to make them one of our Nation's most critical resources. More than that, it illustrates for the reader the many ways; sometimes entertaining, sometimes dangerous, that FAOs create lasting human relationships through respect, patience, cultural understanding and, most importantly, building and maintaining trust with our allies, partners, and yes, even our strategic competitors.

A good collection of essays for a young or aspiring FAO. The stories themselves are outdated, often detailing exploits not possible in today’s world except in rare, far-flung places. The edges of the world are just smaller now. Regardless, the lessons are timeless and the book is organized in a couple large themes that make it easy to pickup/put down. Would recommend.
