For two hearts adrift, the winds of change are moving in…
With her boss thinking of replacing her with someone younger, and her ex-husband flirting with the new intern, meteorologist Monica Mallard has had enough. So when she’s asked to compete in Port Serenity’s annual Astronavigation Contest, Monica seizes the chance to get away. But she’s not prepared to be partnered with Keith Beaumont, retired coast guard captain and local silver fox.
Keith’s new cruising sailboat is the most gorgeous sight he’s ever seen…until Monica comes aboard! She’s capable and intelligent and surprisingly easy to talk to—even when it comes to the loss of his wife seven years ago. After two days of sharing the wild beauty of the North Pacific Ocean, Keith doesn’t want to say goodbye. And maybe he won’t have to, if Monica will agree to join him in setting a new course in life and love.

My thoughts: This story is about 90 minutes long, I couldn't find an ebook page count, but it is available on its own in that format. The MC in this story is Skyler's dad (MC of book 1), Keith. I was hoping he'd get his own novel or a sideline but the novella was a good solution. It didn't go the way I expected and that somehow made the instalove more believable.
A really light fluffy read about Skylar’s dad, Keith, who was introduced in the first book of this series.
Keith is a widower for 7 years, and a retired captain. An astrological navigation contest sent him to partner up with the local TV news anchor who is also a meteorologist, Monica. They both felt mutual attraction, shared a kiss, and that’s it. HEA.
This was a short read and really smooth flowing. No angst, no tension. Just two individuals in their later years enjoying a second chance at love.
Short And Sweet Older Romance. This is a short and sweet - with a dash of danger - romance featuring two adults in the late 40s or older after their first marriages break apart for different reasons. Snow manages to show her skill in crafting a complete romance tale in under 50 pages, with the only difference between this and the 300 ish page Alaska For Christmas that it can be acquired bundled with being that in the longer text, obviously more things actually happen (on all angles). Here though, again, we *do* in fact get a solid and plausible romance, one that even the sweet/ clean crowd should be ok with - and we get it in under 50 pages, making it a solid and safe introduction to Snow and this particular series, for new readers to either. Very much recommended.
Another in the Wild Coast series, in which meteorologist Monica Mallard thinks she's going to be fired from the local TV staff. When Keith Beaumont's usual sailing partner opts out of doing a big race with him, Monica signs on and learns--when they get lost--that there's more to life than reporting the weather.
But will widower Keith rethink his plan never to wed again, or even to get close to a woman? Perhaps there's a second chance for both Monica and Keith.
this book was okay, it was nice to see a different side to Keith Beaumont as he explored things for himself and not as the gruff dad/coastguard captain he had been portrayed as in previous books!
It was a short listen about second chance love but not one that I'd rave about?
I loved this! It's probably the shortest book I'll read this year, but it was great from the first page to the last! It was fun, flirty, a little frightening, and so warm-hearted and cozy. ❤️
