The catalogue for the exhibition "Marek Edelman. The Man", which was prepared as part of the Marek Edelman Year and opened on April 18, 2019, comprises selected texts, documents and photographs presented at the jubilee exhibition. At the same time, it is a handy selection of important quotes and thoughts of the exhibition hero, who did not want to be a hero, but was forced into it by history. However, his views and life attitude can become a kind of moral compass for young people. Edelman: doctor, socio-political activist, one of the leaders of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, decorated with the Commander's Cross of the Legion of Honour and the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of many universities. From 2010, he has been the patron of the Dialogue Center. The exhibition and the catalogue not only provide information about him but also about the last 100 years of Polish, European and world history. The exhibition's curator: Marta Skłodowska. He was loving person, as doctor he took care of patients hugging them like cat would.
Loving in spite of experiece from Getto instance, that might never happend ever again. Although thay has been not the only one, as in these mad times many citizentz of nations and later afther war veterans, has been inprosned in camps.
On December 13, 1981, after the imposition of martial law, he was interned in the isolation center in Łęczyca town.
In March 1968, the anti-Jewish smear campaign, loud propaganda and mass mobilization were greatly intensified. The process of purging Jewish and other officials, ex-Stalinists, high-ranking rival communists and moral supporters of the current liberal opposition movement, was accelerated.
In the ssame time in US we had sadness too:
A protest march by striking sanitation workers down Beale Street in Memphis, Tennessee, began peacefully with Martin Luther King Jr. and Ralph Abernathy at the forefront of 6,000 African-Americans, but degenerated into violence and looting, and the shooting by police of a 16-year-old boy.
Edelman was honory citizent of city of Łódz. And was active in sarajevo mission, a European Union-led force is deployed, known as Operation Althea. - a military deployment in Bosnia and Herzegovina to oversee the military implementation of the Dayton Agreement.
