When the young chieftain Zoë Wind discovers the notorious Rex Timber is out of hiding, she goes into overdrive to track him down to the ends of Skoldrun to avenge her father’s murder at the hands of Timber five years earlier. Little does she know, Timber is on a quest to collect the runestaves worn around the necks of Skoldrun’s four chieftains with a plan that could spell the end of the clans. In a game of hunter becoming the hunted, Zoë must use all of her blaster skills to keep herself from joining her father up on Boot Hill Graveyard and stop Timber’s master plan to unleash a new evil on her world.
Joe Field, a Minnesota 💫 native, channels the Northwoods’ rugged spirit and his deep Christian faith into his creative work. Like a modern-day Paul Bunyan, he crafts music and literature that blends mythic charm with the Gospel’s timeless hope. His art reflects the towering pines and endless skies of his homeland, inviting a bold, transformative journey of faith and wonder.
So chieftain Zoë wind starts tracking Fex Timber to avenge the murder of her loved ones. Rex has a nefarious plan to kill the Skoldrun chieftains and steal their magic stones. It becomes a race against time where the hunter becomes the hunted. A wild west story full of fantasy and humor. Might only be me, but I found this short book to be funny and witty. The characters were unique, had unique names and the plot was different from what else I've read. A fantastic story to dive into that will spirit you away for a bit.
