She said yes … and now she has everything she ever wanted.
Blowing up her life and getting on a plane headed for Costa Rica with her son’s best friend is the most reckless and impulsive thing Darcy MacFarland has ever done. Now she’s was in a beautiful, wild country with all of her intentions set on falling in love. She’s also discovering things she didn’t know about herself, things that make the connection between her and Tommy deeper and more real.
There are thirteen waterfalls in Costa Rica, and Tomás wants to kiss Darcy under every single one of them.
But he knows they can’t hide out in Costa Rica forever. He knows he’s in love with her and wants everyone in his world to know it. Can what they’ve built will survive telling his best friend?
I was in the reader group petitioning for a follow-up asking constantly what happened in Costa Rica 😅 Listen we find out and you can pretty much imagine what transpired. Sex, sex, and more sex. Girl how did they get any sights in at all how horny they were for each other. The 30-days in Costa Rica was a very detailed exploration of the dom/sub relationship as well as trying other fantasies. Of course Jared finds out and is upset but the resolution for the betrayal and weeks of lying was over so quick. I was expecting a lot more. Big picture here is they get their HEA.
I received a copy of the book as a Patreon.

Tomás and Darcy are back to reconcile and get their HEA after the open ending of If She Says Yes. Darcy follows Tomás to Costa Rica and they proclaim their love to each other while having mind melting sex in just about every chapter. The heat between these two gets turned up to 11. I was literally getting hot and bothered while reading this.
I like the first book more and yet this is a strong follow-up to that story. The third act conflict was quickly squashed which I appreciated. Tomás was acting like a bit of an ass but it tracks with his established insecurities when it comes to Darcy and her claiming him once they get back home.
The ending has all the characters settling into their new norm. I liked the last scene that has Tomás finding his footing in his relationship with Jared, Darcy's son and Tomás' best friend. Jared's reactions were valid and relatable given how awkward and weird it is that his mom and closest friend are falling in love. I'm just happy the story gave him some off the page time to get comfortable with them together. I love this duet and highly recommend it!
p.s. I was hoping the swinging couple scene would have gone a bit farther but Darcy falling into her Domme side was done perfectly.
It was such a disappointment because I enjoyed so much book 1 and was so impatient to see them as a couple, and most importantly to have them bringing the news to her son. But they spent most of book 2 having s3x in e.ve.ry chapters, acting like children pushing away the reality and the consequences of their decision to be a couple. At some point I I skimmed through those scenes to get to the rare ones in-between where they finally talk about their feelings-futur-and how to announce it to her son/his BFF.
I appreciate way mote the last chapters because we finally got all those discussions and I was happy how it unraveled. Jared's reaction was totally understandable and proportionate to the situation. I just wish we had more pages with them living together as a family, with the challenges that it brings. Having the epilogue would have helped. But it was an exclusive for Patreon's members only, which was very frustrating especially because I bought the paperback, so I expected to get the all story.
Good lord is this book hot. I had the good fortune of reading the first half of this book via the author’s Patreon before real life interrupted and I’m so so glad she decided to publish the book. It was of course hot and steamy and I’d been clamoring for an update to Tomás and Darcy’s story ever since I read If She Says Yes and I’m so glad she wrote this. Beyond being just hot and sexy though, it was tender and emotional, heartbreakingly sweet and poignant, their emotions were messy and real and raw. And then Tasha delivers on the sweetest and steamiest extra epilogue on her Patreon to wrap up this story in the absolute best way possible. Adored every word of this.
If he’s not yearning, adoring, showing up for me and prioritizing my needs like Tomas, what do I even need him for?!? A time was had in Costa Rica! These people thoroughly enjoy each other and make each other better. Can you really ask for more? Tomas’ caretaking and acceptance of Darcy unlocked a new Darcy and I loved that for her. She was not giving up her man and I don’t blame her. I’m so happy we got an HEA with this one. This series was excellent and book 2 was even better than book 1. Fantastic, spicy love story!
OMG I am so happy that there’s a sequel to a book i read last year and again this year! I’d even ask for a trilogy cause this book was sizzling HOT HOT HOT!!! I loved that it picked up where the last one left off and showed their relationship developing as I wondered what would happen to them. I couldn’t read this book fast enough. LOVE IT! (I’d love a prequel too of how Tomas and Jared met and what happened when he first met Darcy)!
I couldn’t see this dynamic working. I started reading this book just to see how she would make this work. And I got hooked! When you trust an author to take you on a journey, you follow them blindly. So here I am. Loving Tommy and Darcy. Can’t wait to see what’s next.
This is the concluding book in a duet with an age gap, slightly taboo romance between Tomas, an architect in his early thirties, and Darcy, his best friend's mother. The first book tells the story of how the two main characters fall in love and ends with them flying to Costa Rica for a romantic getaway.
This second installment follows the couple as they grapple with their new relationship and explore their sexuality. Tomas is a submissive, who worships Darcy and wants nothing more than to serve and please her. Darcy, for her part, gradually discovers her dominant side. However, this is not a typical BDSM scenario. It showed that sexual preferences are unique to individuals and are on a spectrum. I liked the scenes where the two main characters explored their kinks and limits together, creating a deepening bond.
This was a sweet love story, relatively low on angst but high on the spice factor. I deducted a star from my rating because the author withheld the epilogue, keeping it for her patreon subscribers only. I figure an epilogue should be part of a purchased book and not an additional extra.
This was such a disappointment. The first 3/4 of the book was a sex fest and the last 1/4 was more of what I wanted from the book as a whole (only super rushed and leaving plot holes). On top of that, this book made me really dislike Darcy. Everything (and I do mean everything) in the relationship was about her and Tomas giving her everything she wanted and taking any/all blame etc on himself. I hated it and felt Tomas didn't get anything except sex from her in return, which ruined the story for me.
An abiding lust at first sight tempered by an enduring friendship and romantic love
I married an older woman more than 50 years ago, only 3 years. Some say lust at first sight but I say love at first sight. I have the history to prove that I know the difference. I'm still amazed and grateful she fell in love with me. She was and is a beautiful black woman. The idiom black don't crack my wife is its definition. I like HEA. I seldom read anything else that is fiction. I can relate to these characters. I understand Jared sense of betrayal. Ms Harrison explains Tommy's choice and ambivalence: betraying his best friend who saved him or pursuing the love of his life, Jared's Mother, Darcy. Darcy makes it easy for Tommy because she loves him too. But is it infatuation or a real love an enduring love that's what Darcy has to know before she blows up her relationship with her son as well as his best friend. My rant on this genre: is the guy is always an adonis or wealthy or a skanky musician or he has a package that hangs to his knee. (hyperbole, sorry) I'm an average guy. Alittlend we don't have a chance with beautiful women and that is the real fiction.
Now I love a good age gap, especially when the woman is older and it was hot, but the writing felt a bit disjointed to me. I felt like I was getting jolted around from scene to scene, and it didn't flow as well as the writing in the first installment of the series. This could be due to all of the emotional and sexual growth as a couple happening so fast during their trip to Costa Rica through the first 200 pages. It felt leisure at times but also rushed . . . as if the author wanted them to experience everything all at once. The couple explored their relationship sexually and emotionally, and I can appreciate the honesty between the two. I do however commend the author for the emotional awareness her characters continuously have of one another. It is the reason I liked the first book and wanted to read the second.
When we last saw Tomas and Darcy at they end of book two, Darcy had surprised Tomas by joining him on his trip to Costa Rico. Tomas is ecstatic but not sure what her presence means in the long run. Will Darcy agree to start a real relationship with him or is she just along for the duration of the trip? I was so excited when I saw that Ms Harrison gave readers a definitive conclusion to this steamy age gap story! Tomas is an achingly sweet hero and Darcy manages to come off as both strong and vulnerable. They really complemented each other. The scenes where Tomas and Darcy revealed their love to Jared…her son and Tomas’ best friend …are exceptional. Great story, filled with heat, passion and humor.
this was a great follow up to If she says yes. after months appart, she leaves everything behind to follow him to costa rica.
they explore what they could be as a couple and i do love a kinky checklist of things to try. the chemistry is there. there is also the very heavy reality that they're in a bubble and that the real world is waiting for them. they need to decide if they're willing to risk their relationship with his bestfriend/her son. is it worth it ? tommy has been all in since day one and i love how dedicated he is. they struggle to communicate on certain things and the drama of when everything is exposed had me bitting my nails. darcy has a nice character arc through the duet and the ending was really satisfying.
I liked the first one enough to immediately jump into the second, and I'm glad I did. It's a real escapist fantasy, running away to Costa Rica for a month, ready to figure out your relationship. And Tomas and Darcy need to figure out some stuff, particularly in the bedroom. Tomas is an established kinkster who knows what he wants, to submit to Darcy and give her pleasure whenever possible, so this is much more about Darcy exploring her kinky side. The have a sex filled romp with lots of different experiences and a delightful amount of discussion and analysis. I love this side of kink, that's full of explicit consent, negotiation and exploration. I would have loved a little more lead up to the resolution, but I thoroughly enjoyed this little romp.
This was honestly so bad. It was basically sex in every single chapter. I wasn’t convinced at all of the romance between Tomas and Darcy. The whole dynamic was Darcy centric, and Tomas just did whatever she wanted like a pathetic puppy. The swinger scene came out of nowhere and I hated it. I know they didn’t go the whole way but I’m pretty sure if Darcy wanted to fuck another man Tomas would have no issue with it.
I thought this book with deal with the controversy around the couple going public and trying to get Darcy’s son Jared to come around. Instead we only had one confrontation and then there was a time jump and everything was resolved off page. I don’t know why the author even bothered to write a sequel because it ruined everything that was special about the first book.

I love this second installment. It made me comfortable with my authoritative personality. To see that some men view that as sexy. Now, some people may be offput by Tomas' softer side but I love the thought of a strong, smart man with a softer side in the bedroom. The sex scenes (to which there are many; definitely one per chapter) are steamy. The only negative to this was the "argument" scene between the two. That part needs tweaking or a whole revamp. Thankfully, it is short. Definitely but this book.
The communication 👏🏾 🙌🏾 👌🏾 When I tell you I LOVE it when there is minimal to no miscommunication 😌 Tomas and Darcy... I have never been more jealous of a fictional couple EVER! I have a couple of decades before I'm Darcy's age but I want what she has RIGHT NEOW! The sexy times? 🥵🥵🥵 LAWD!!! Harrison's writing had me by the tittie hairs! Can't wait to read more of her work!
Having to sign up for her Patreon for the epilogue is nasty work though. Usually get them for free via a newsletter BUT I understand the hustle.
3.5 stars. It got a bit slow around 70% but it was very satisfying to see Darcy and Tomas get their HEA. I really enjoyed their first book, in fact there’s one scene from it that really stayed with me, and it was fun to connect with them. This book also really had a strong sense of place in Costa Rica. I mean I’ve never been there so I don’t know how accurate it was but there was a lot of specificity.
let’s get this straight. this isn’t the best book ever written or the most epic, jaw dropping love story but it sure did render me speechless at some parts and made me scream in giddiness in others. their chemistry is off the charts. the writing is one of the most easily consumable i have ever encountered. and tomás should get an award for most perfect sub ever written. i didn’t even realize when i finished reading this.
I'm a big fan of this series and kind of hope there are more... But I kind of want to just !et Tommy and Darcy have their HEA. Its gratifying to see an older woman, really an older woman, get a man who worships her and doesn't stop. Like, ever. She's made me loom forward to 57.
I really hoped that the sequel would have improved writing and storyline, but everything fell flat. White the *steamy* scenes were just that - the rest of the story was borderline boring. Of course, the only thing to save the book was going to be an unexpected pregnancy. Ugh.
