What do you think would happen if an evil sorcerer gets to twist the happy endings of the books we all grew up loving into sad and emotionless ones?

After her father left her for adoption from an early age, Lyric was taken to live with Katie, the overprotective and caring old woman who lives in the outskirts of the city. As Lyric grows up, her imagination and her incessant thoughts grew big with her and she started seeing unrealistic magical things which made her struggle to fit in the real world and act normally like the other kids.

When she sleeps, she finds herself being thrusted into a parallel magical world where its words are breathing wild creatures and its rainbows are magical gateways. But with an evil sorcerer who is bewitching these words, our human world might lose the ability to dream and imagine. So Lyric must help the bookmaker find his lost words and free them in order to complete writing the book before the Singer takes over and twist the ending to his favor.

The world building was really well done and the writing was so much fun and spell binding! It felt like the magic was simply seeping out through the pages.

With a thrilling cast of characters both humans and magical beings, author Lynn has created a perfect middle grade tale for anyone who ever dreamed of being transported into the stories they read or having friends from the tales brought into our worlds. Although it's geared towards middle school readers, I really enjoyed it and it helped me break up the heavy Fantasies I was reading at the time. So if you like the sound of this one, go ahead and let it charm you!

Huge thanks to author @kerri.lynn.writer for gifting me a copy to read. So excited to know what happens to the Bookmaker in the next installment!

The plot is very unique and magical, while I was reading I kept wishing that there was a TV show adaptation, just so I could see the magical locations and creatures!
I loved the characters, especially Book, Sylvie, Lyric and Hannah!
Book is a very mysterious man, but he had a warm personality and he doesn't shut people out when things get tough. I'm very excited to know what happened to him in the next book!
Sylvie is such an inspiring character! She suffers so much and still keeps fighting!
The Singer has got to be one of my favourite villains! I feel like there's a lot more to his story than what we know, which makes him even more intriguing! He's very charismatic and he knows how to play people, especially with his voice! (Yet again, I'm wishing there was a TV show so that I could hear him sing!)
I'd love to know more about his relationship with Sylvie and the Bookmaker, both of which he had deep connections with!
Lyric and Hannah are lovely characters! They sort of represent the readers as they go through this adventure: the Bookmakers world is whimsical and marvellous, but there's no way to deny that the Singer is a very alluring man.
I also really enjoyed the detail of names! Lyric's name ends up being a reflection of herself! A lyric is sort of a poem that gets turned into a song, so it sort of where books and songs meet - which explains why she's vulnerable to the Bookmaker and the Singer!
I absolutely adored this book and I can't wait to read the next one! I'm sure it will be just as amazing as this one!

This book is so beautifully written. The world building is magical. Kerri Lynn takes Narnia and crosses it with a studio Ghibli film to make the sweetest, and action packed story. I absolutely adored it and need a sequel as fast as possible.

Some books are just feels like magic! This is one of them!

The bookmaker is one of a kind fantacy book that I fell in love with so much. I haven’t read a story with this concept before it’s original and felt wonderful 🥰 I fell in love with the plot and the characters lyric, Sylvie made the story so curious and interesting. It’s Lyrics adventure to find out the words who ran away to help the bookmaker.

I loved the adventure and ending too, how they are full of hope. I hope there will be a sequel 😍

I loved the writing style and the flow, it’s so easy to read and took me through their journey.
The characters were introduced to the story and felt so alive and close. Even the concept is new, it felt so easy and get into the magical world. I will definitely reread this in a one go, as I read it very slowly. It’s such a beautiful story you can quickly read in one sitting.

Some books don't have any age bar. They can be enjoyed both by adults and youngsters as per their own terms. The Bookmaker by Kerri Lynn is one such book. Bookmaker is a mythical being who exists in a parallel world. Lyric Murphy is not a normal girl. Her family is uncomfortable with things she sees but they don't. It doesn't take long for Lyric to realize she's no ordinary girl no matter how hard she tries to put her imagination away. Lyric sets out on an adventure to help the Bookmaker in a mission on which if they fail both Bookmaker's world and her world would face brutal consequences. She discovers that the Bookmaker's tale is not an ordinary one as she becomes more engrossed in it.
The Bookmaker is an action-packed magical tale. The book has a diverse cast of characters. Kerri Lynn has sketched both the magical and human characters very well. The plotline is totally unique. I love how the author handles the twists and turns. The world building is also commendable. The prose quality is quite elegant though the language is quite simple and beginner reader friendly. It's a feel-good book full of magic. If you love magical creatures and are in search of a charming read that can lift your mood, go ahead and grab The Bookmaker. You won't regret it.

Fantasy always provided me the scope to escape from my daily burdens in a land where I feel relaxed and cheerful. But that also makes me too much picky for my book selection in this genre. I totally DNF books if that don’t sounds me interesting after a certain point and after reading for so many years very few books pass my choice. Kerri Lynn’s ‘The Bookmaker’ is one of those rare books that not only draws my attention but I tremendously enjoyed every page and detail that the author imagined. The storyline is beautifully imagined where an over imaginative little girl named Lyric lives with an overprotective old woman after being detached from her father in early childhood. Lyric normally sees things that none can, and that makes things interesting from the very beginning. Lyric has the ability to go into a parallel world where an evil personality named Singer is scheming a plan bewitching words. Now Lyric puts herself in a mission to find those lost words for the Bookmaker who is finishing an important book. If lyric fails in her task then humanity would be in jeopardy as we all would lose the power to imagine and dream.

Every author is different in style to present us what they intend to but there is a bar of excellence that separates the best from the others. Kerri Lynn falls into that best category of writers who not only engages the readers with her elegant prose and unique narrative style but also creates a world that can make you to want more. Her characters aren’t dull and flat. They are versatile with their own motives; they are so lively that sometimes you forget that you are reading a fantasy novel. Their dialogues are not overly dramatic. I just adored the magic system in the book that is totally flawless. The book for me has gone so good that I must rate it five out of five and would recommend to my fellow reader who has similar taste like mine.

Kerri Lynn’s ‘The Bookmaker’ is not another addition to the thousands of average fantasy that is being published every day. It’s one of those books that stays with you for long. Its characters, moments, dialogues and situations will make you think again drawing you in that magical world to want for more in a sequel. Yes, that has happened to me and I am not a person who can be pleased easily. The plot is so unique and amazing that my pen can’t express. Lyric is a little child who lives with an over concerned old woman as she was detached from her father from early in age.  Lyric is over imaginative and she can see things that no other does. But Lyric has another extraordinary power – she can travel to a parallel world in sleep where an evil man named Singer is bewitching words. Now Lyric takes the responsibility on herself to find those lost words for the bookmaker who is finishing an important book to save humanity. Otherwise humans would have lost the ability to dream and imagine.

The world building to character sketching everything is just too good by the author. She has delivered a gem for not just middle graders but for everyone. The narrative style is too unique to grip the reader with its easy but elegant prose. The plot is not flat one but has many layers in it to hook you in every page. It not only provides a fantasy story but it has everything in it, be it mystery, suspense, adventure or thrill. One just can’t forget Lyric for a moment. What she is gonna do now is a matter of curiosity for the whole journey. Though singer is an evil personality, I fell in love with this man’s attitude. For me this one was a joyride from first to last and I recommend this one to every fantasy reader.

Adventure fantasy is one of the oldest genres in the world. Many of world’s epics have the same quality what this genre offer. Still we readers long for more from this genre. So when an adventure fantasy comes into the market, it has very much probability to be repetitive. But Kerri Lynn’s ‘The Bookmaker’ does not fall into that category of repetitive junks. It’s remarkably fresh, original and unique from every aspect of a novel. The story starts with an imaginative girl child named Lyric who has the power to see things that other can’t. But that’s not the only power she is capable of. She can slip into a parallel world where an evil named Singer bewitching words to perform a foul plan. Lyric is on a mission now to find those lost words and help the bookmaker to finish his book that can save humanity from losing the ability to imagine and dream.

I loved how the author have maintained an over imaginative child’s psychology and based the total world of imagination upon it. The narrative style is brilliant to sketch such a unique plot. The language is simple and easy to draw any reader quickly into the story. The world building along with the magic system is amazing to have. My favorite point in her writing style is though her commendable ability to sketch fine characters, be it Singer, Bookmaker or Lyric. The storyline is gripping from the beginning to last page. Not only the novel limits itself to the specific genre, it bends boundaries and that just make things more beautiful. I enjoyed the journey in just one sitting and so I recommend this book to every fantasy readers.

Adventure plot in fantasy land is hot favourite among readers. The suspense, mystery and journey for a purpose give us immense satisfaction. Kerri Lynn's 'The Bookmaker' is the newest addition to my favourite books of that genre. With wonderful world creation the author provides us a magical land with a child's adventure against evil motive to save humanity. Lyric is a highly imaginative child who notices extraordinary things that none can. During her sleep Lyric reaches to a magical parallel world where Singer bewitching words to execute an evil motive. Lyric has to find those lost words for bookmaker so he can finish his book otherwise humans would have lost the ability to dream.

The setting of the plot seems super cool and interesting to me. The narrative style is so gripping that one would forget the time around. The language and prose quality is simple but elegant. The character sketching is great to suit the world. I liked Singer and bookmaker both so much for their unique attitudes. The world building is superbly imaginative for the plotline. The dialogues are just great. Though the book is for middle graders, I think any reader who enjoys adventure fantasy would love this one. For me this novel is surely a five star read and I would recommend this one to my friends who loves fantasy.

'The Bookmaker' by Kerri Lynn is an wonderful read that I cherished lately. It has all the flavours like mystery, suspense, a bit of horror, fun, adventure, magic and fantasy to hold you till the last page. I haven't anticipated this book to be such rich and well paced. The author has achieved a great feat writing such a wonderful and well imagined title. Lyric is an over imaginative child who see magical things that none can. She travels in a parallel world where an evil named Singer bewitching words to finish an evil plan. Now Lyric is on an adventure mission to find those lost words for Bookmaker who is finishing an important book. If that mission fails, humanity would be in great risk as we all would lose the power to dream and imagine.

The narrative technique of the author is amazingly engrossing to grip any reader. Though the book is for middle graders, I being an adult quite enjoyed the title. The prose quality is simple and easy to delve into the story quickly and have the fantastic journey with Lyric. The characterisation is well thought of. Both the characters, evil Singer and good Bookmaker have their own appeal to readers. The magic system and world building is so unique and imaginative. I must mention the superb finishing as many popular fantasy have disappointed me in that case but this one is so good. I enjoyed the book very much and going to recommend it to my friends who loves adventure fantasy novels.

I must state that Kerri Lynn's "The Bookmaker" has enriched us because it is such a unique and refreshing contribution to the genre. The book has an intriguing plot that may easily captivate any reader from   the beginning to the last page. After being cut off from her father, Lyric is an imaginative little girl who now lives with an elderly woman who is too protective. Lyric possesses a unique capacity to perceive   some things that no one else can. She has the ability to quickly travel to a parallel universe when she is asleep, where a wicked character by the name of Singer is using words to his advantage. However,   Lyric hopes to track out the missing words so that Bookmaker can finish his work. Otherwise, all people would lose their capacity for imagination and dreaming.

Any reader will be captivated by the author's remarkable narrative skill. Even though the book is intended for middle schoolers, I, as an adult, really liked it. The wording is straightforward, making it   simple to get lost in the story and enjoy Lyric's incredible adventure. Well-considered characterization is used.

Readers can identify with both the virtuous Bookmaker and the bad Singer characters. The world-building and magic system are so original and creative. I had to note out the excellent ending because many popular fantasy novels have let me down there, but this one is really great. I really liked the book and will suggest it to my friends who adore fantasy adventure books.

Readers love adventure stories set in fantastical worlds. We experience great gratification from the excitement, mystery, and adventure with a goal. 'The Bookmaker' by Kerri Lynn is the most recent addition to my list of favourite novels in that genre. The author creates a magnificent world and transports us to a mystical realm where a young girl goes on a quest to defend humanity from evil. Lyric is a little child with a vivid imagination who sees astonishing things that others miss. Lyric accesses a magical parallel realm where Singer uses entrancing words to carry out a sinister plan. Bookmaker needs Lyric to find those missing words so that he may finish his book; else, people would no longer be able to dream.

'The Bookmaker' is one of my all-time fave middle school novels because of its excellent character development and plot construction. This one is considerably better thanks to the lovely, intricate magic system, exhilarating adventure, and fantastic fantasy aspects. I liked how the straightforward language rapidly immerses the reader in the action. After a few pages, one would utterly forget where they were. Certainly I did. I'd want to see Singer in any fan art or television programme. The book's conclusion left the reader wanting more. I give it a five-star rating and urge any fantasy reader to read it.

Being an avid fantasy reader I can easily locate repetitive themes that don't appeal me anymore but Kerri Lynn's 'The Bookmaker' is such refreshing and unique addition to the genre that I must say it has enriched us. The book comes with an interesting plotline that can grip any reader from the first to last page easily. Lyric is an imaginative child who lives with an over protective old woman after being detached from her father. Lyric has a special ability to see some things that none other can. She can swiftly travel to a parallel world in sleep where an evil personality named Singer is bewitching words to make his evil plan successful. But Lyric wants to find the lost words so that Bookmaker can complete his book. Otherwise all the humans would lost the power to imagin and dream.

This story has unique power to lift anyone's mood instantly. I loved how the author amazingly build up the story keeping the suspense till end and finishes with a style. Every book genre serves a purpose in our life. Adventure fantasy provides us hope and optimism against hard and dark reality of life. Kerri Lynn's 'The Bookmaker' has set a bar in that case. This novel is a fantastic example of how adventure fantasy should be written. I was astounded to realise that such depth and attention to detail had gone into creating a magical universe filled with suspense, thrill, and mystery. Lyric is a young child who slips in sleep to a different reality. There Singer uses enchanted language to carry out a malicious scheme. If Lyric didn't provide the Bookmaker the missing words, people wouldn't be able to dream anymore.

From start to finish, it was a wonderful story. I was in awe of the depth and attention to detail that went into each character's drawing. Whether it was the singer, the lyricist, or the bookmaker, everyone gave me so much pleasure that I kept wanting to come back to this incredible universe. This novel was unique due to its prosaic lines and lovely dialogue. The magic system is quite well made. It's amazing how the world was created in such an unusual environment. Despite the fact that this book is mostly intended for middle schoolers, I believe that everyone who like fantasy and adventure would enjoy it. This gets a definite five out of five stars from me.

Kerri Lynn created an amazing world of imagination in 'The Bookmaker'. The atmosphere in the book is so much intriguing that I finished it in just one sitting. Though the book is aimed at middle grade readers, being an adult I enjoyed the book quite well.

Lyric lives with an overprotective old woman when her father left her for adoption at an early age. But Lyric's life becomes full with imagination and magical things that only she can notice. When she sleeps, she reaches a parallel world where words breathe and rainbows become gateways. The evil magician who makes these words acting weird is Singer. As a consequence our world might lose the ability to dream and imagine. So Lyric is on a mission to find the words for bookmaker to complete the magical book to defeat the singer.

With absolutely gorgeous world creation and fantastic magic system 'The Bookmaker' is an ideal book for any fantasy fan. The characters are just awesome and lovely, especially Bookmaker and Singer, both are just phenomenal. Lyric's child psychology is beautifully sketched. The narrative style is amazing to catch the attention of any reader quickly with simple but elegant prose. The storyline has fine plot building with amazing magical elements and dreamy world creation. I just loved this book and would recommend to any fantasy fan.

After reading the hobbit and lord of the rings in childhood I became a fan of adventure fantasy novels from an early age. The challenges in an adventure set in a fantasy land and overcoming them for the sake of humanity always excites me. Kerri Lynn's 'The Bookmaker' is another addition to my shelf of adventure fantasy books. This novel surprised me with its absolutely amazing story line. Lyric, a small child is a little more imaginative. She sees things of magic that none other can. She slips into a parallel world where Singer is bewitching words for a evil cause. Lyric has to find those lost words for bookmaker to complete his book to protect humanity from losing dream.

When I started reading the novel, I didn't expect the prose quality to be so immersive. The depth in character sketching is so beautiful and detailed. I finished the book in just one sitting and never felt bored. The adventures Lyric goes through are full of mystery, suspense and thrill. The narrative technique of the author is amazingly engrossing to grip any reader till the end of the book. Lyric's fight for humanity is an excellent thing to cherish. I loved every bit of her fight. The ending was so satisfying. I want to recommend this one to every fantasy reader.

Kerri Lynn gives us a fantastic adventure fantasy in her most recent book, "The Bookmaker." A small child named Lyric lives with an elderly woman who is overly protective because she was estranged from her father when she was quite young. Lyric has a vivid imagination and has the ability to perceive things that others miss. She accidentally enters a parallel universe where Singer uses words of enchantment to carry out evil schemes. Otherwise, people would lose their capacity for imagination. Therefore Lyric must restore the stolen words to the bookmaker.

The prose quality is excellent with elegant language and captivating word choice. Character sketches have such rich richness and beauty that I read the entire book in one sitting and had no boredom. Mystery, suspense, and thrill are all present throughout Lyric's travels. Any reader can be captivated by the author's narrative style and remain so until the very end of the book. It is admirable that Lyric is fighting for mankind. I adored every second of her struggle. It has such a satisfying conclusion. I want to urge every fantasy reader to read this one.

One of the best genre of the world is adventure fantasy. This genre provides thrill, suspense, mystery, adventure everything in a fantasy setting. But it's not easy to write a gripping adventure fantasy novel. Kerri Lynn has done that difficult job so easily in 'The Bookmaker'. The book fulfills every feature of adventure fantasy in a superb way. Magical world creation with suspense, thrill and mystery, has been done with so much depth and details that I was stunned to notice.

Lyric is a little child who goes to a parallel world during sleep. There Singer is bewitching words to fulfill an evil plot. Lyric must return the lost words to the bookmaker otherwise humans would lose the ability to dream.

The narrative style is amazing to support the plotline. I loved the unique character sketching. Singer, Lyric, the bookmaker every one has their own motive and they all are vibrant in nature. I just enjoyed Singer so much. The magic system and world building is fantastic. The prose is elegant in nature. It was a great journey till the end and I must recommend this one to every adventure fantasy fan.

The Bookmaker is an unique , one of a kind book that I read in a while. I felt as if I were spectating a Ghibli movie the whole time while reading this magical book. The curiosity , the climax and the plot twist were well drafted so that it gave me multiple surprises.

As magical as the plot , the writing style didn't fail in enchanting me. From the beginning to the end , I could enjoy each and every scene so vividly like a reel in my mind. The characters were perfectly portrayed and Sylvie is my favorite.

I can't wait for the next book to be released so that I could dive into this magical story again. In conclusion , I would say that The Bookmaker is a book which is worth to be turned into an anime.
