It's only been 3 months since Alexius released but I feel like it's been a lifetime! But now it's
here!!

To say I was eagerly awaiting His Wife would be the understatement of 2022! When I read Alexius back in May, I fell in love with not Just him and Leandra, but also the world that Bella created. When the release of His Wife got pushed a bit, I immediately reread it because I wanted every single moment fresh in my head. That’s how much I am invested in everything about this world. AND it’s just beginning really so I’ll probably have some sort of mini stroke by the time its all said and done!! #TRUTH
The story of Alexius & Leandra started out as a standalone but then turned into a duet, which after my reading experience, I have to say was a good call for the story arc. That being said, am I happy their story is now a trilogy? *sigh* I mean, it is what it is, but I’m not because I don’t really like getting this kind of surprise in the middle of the reading experience. It’s frustrating and #twitchy! HOWEVER, I love them so much that I can’t wait to read more! LOL *shrug*
Alexius & Leandra continue to grow from a marriage of convenience to a lot more. These two are FIRE! They been like this from the very beginning and I absolutely love it. Leandra has grown into herself tenfold, and it is a beauty to read! There is so much delicious tension and raw emotion that is building and grown between them that you just can’t look away, or rather stop reading. I could honestly sit down and binge read these two books again, right now!
The Dark Sovereign series is everything a dark, mafia romance lover would be looking for and if it’s your jam, I highly recommend you start this ride asap!

His Wife is the fantastic second book in the Dark Sovereign Series! It can not be read alone, must be read in series order, and ends on a cliffy. His Wife starts where Alexius finished. Alexius and Leandra are in a fake marriage to appease Alexius's dying father. Neither of them expected the physical heat in their relationship as well as their blossoming affection for one another. Eventually, Alexius will do anything to keep her.
I really dislike trilogies, lol. I honestly wouldn't have started the series if I had know it was going to be 3 books... 2 was a hard one to swallow as it was, but now I'm super invested, lol. Overall, I'm enjoying the books. The smexy is super hot, lots of voyeurism in this one.. if that is or is not your thing. Alexius is definitely over the top obsessive, possessive and it's awesome to see how he becomes with the girl that was meant to be his pawn. Leandra really came into her own in this book. It was awesome to see how strong she's become. We'll have to wait until the third book to see how Alexius fixes his big screw up. Can't wait!

The steam between Alexius Del Rossa and Leandra, his new wife, is off the charts. There is no such thing as guilty pleasure between these two as they discover exactly how far they are willing to push the boundaries of their play. Alexius Del Rossa and Leandra's story. It's everything I hoped it would be and so much more. Alexius is still an a*^ and apparently his little "stray" love it. “I knew the moment I looked into his eyes he’d destroy me.” He's possessive, obsessive and NOTHING will stop him from keeping her now that he has her. "Del Rossa blood runs deep. It’s wild, thick, and vicious with a history that will always define who. They. Are.” This couple is so freakin, off the charts HOT and I can't wait to delve back into their journey. Book 3 can't come soon enough.

Holy Moly!! There’s just something about the way Bella J captivates you! His Wife was an emotional roller coaster with gripping moments of angst! I was in a frenzy trying to turn the pages rapidly! I felt the emotional excitement and sadness deep within. Secrets are revealed and all he’ll breaks loose! Obsession and passiveness! Awesome read! Anxiously awaiting for the final installment!

This author pushes boundaries with her stories and I CAN’T get enough. We already knew that Alexius is this dominant, possessive alpha with those piercing blue eyes (if you didn’t then please head over and read Alexius, then come back) and he has definitely carved a spot in my dark heart.
This continuation of their story was perfection- feelings are deeper and secrets are being kept and revelations are made. I couldn’t flip the pages fast enough- I mean why do I have to be an adult! Yes, this story is SUPER spicy, but that’s who these characters are. There is a touch of suspense that had my jaw dropping. I am absolutely thrilled that there is more to come for Alexius and Leandra- the series is a must read for dark/mafia romance fans.

Mixed feelings about this book
I liked the storyline but felt like it lacked content. I am not a fan of the voyeurism and sex club stuff. But if you take that away there isn’t much else. I will probably read the 3rd book because I want to know what happens but this isn’t a series I would read more than once, it just wasn’t for me.

I will start off by saying if you haven't read Alexius do not read His Wife, you will be lost.
Now on to His Wife. Alexius is a Mafia dude with some serious control issues and Leandra is strong determined woman that knows what she wants and likes. Alexius helps Leandra find her inner sex kitten or whatever you want to call it. Alexius takes a while to admit things to Leandra and some damage is caused. Now the book ends on a pretty damn cliffhanger.
I personally felt this could have a beautiful duet and have the spin off characters. I do see that there is a whole lot more to unpack and I felt like I had a lot more questions during this book.
This does not mean negative totally the opposite because I wanted more and I am going to read every book she releases to see where this goes.

These two books are amazing from the first book being Alexius to book two his wife I was absolutely captivated it's been a while since I've read a book so fast from Alexius' possessiveness, the lust, sex and danger this book holds is everything.
I love the relationship Alexius and Leandra have and the power the Del Rossi name holds this book has a great family loyalty that holds steadfast no matter what happens in life even when the evilness steps out of the shadows you find you're heart racing to know the outcome.
Bella J is on her A game with the Dark Sovereign Series I can't wait for the other brothers to get their own stories once we have the finale to Alexius and Leandra it's going to be so goooood.

Cliffhanger, cliffhanger, cliffhanger… lo dico proprio sbattendo i piedi per terra e tirando i coltelli al muro! Bella J. è la regina dei finali aperti ed è il motivo per cui porcono in turco ogni volta che finisco un suo romanzo! E adesso? Speriamo nel terzo volume entro… SUBITO!
Ci eravamo lasciati con la ricerca accanita del responsabile degli omicidi al Mito, colui che semina biglietti sui corpi trucidati con enigmi interessanti. Qualcosa lo avevamo compreso, ma in realtà scopriamo l’arcano in questo libro: un passato irrisolto, ingiustizie subite e ossessioni amorose determinano tutta una scia di sangue, fino a quando…
Alexius e Leandra proseguono i loro giochi di sesso e potere, fin troppo erotismo e scene spinte che alla lunga annoiano (questa l’unica pecca, a mio avviso, che potrebbe invece piacere ad altri); quasi da subito compare il primo grande colpo di scena (atteso, mettiamola così, quindi non è da considerarsi uno spoiler): il Sovrano Oscuro senior muore. Le scene attorno alla sua vita, al rapporto con la moglie e i figli e alla fine della sua esistenza mi hanno scombussolata, so che è un mafia romance, ma non mi vergogno a dire che ho pianto.
Momenti toccanti che a volte non ci si aspetta in un romanzo del genere, ma che accompagnano la violenza, il sadismo e l’oscurità con l’amore per la famiglia, il senso dell’unità e di protezione. Sebbene tutti questi concetti siano “pericolosi” e forse antiquati nella nostra società, a me fanno effetto. Nella realtà non riuscirei a sopportare questo tipo di sottomissione, ma nella fantasia la bramo insieme a tutti quegli atti di ribellione che ne derivano. Vi lascio un momento bellissimo:
“È così bello e disarmante vedere uomini così forti e potenti che non si vergognano di mettere in mostra il loro amore per la madre davanti a tutto il mondo. Per la prima volta, mi rendo conto che non sono solo il Sovrano Oscuro. Sono una famiglia. Sono sangue, il loro legame è più forte di tutta la ricchezza e il potere del mondo. Mi asciugo le lacrime mentre passano, e sono colta di sorpresa quando Alexius si ferma per un attimo, allunga la mano, mi prende la guancia e mi dà il più tenero e affettuoso dei baci sulla fronte, un bacio che mi arriva fino al midollo delle ossa. Un bacio che racchiude più affetto di qualsiasi atto che abbia mai sperimentato.”
Proprio il gesto del bacio sulla fronte mi spinge ad amare questa coppia ancora di più. Questo tipo di bacio simboleggia il “io ti amo, io ti proteggo, io ci sarò per sempre, tu sei mia”; è la forza e la bramosia che ricerco in questo tipo di romanzi, è il motivo per cui mi piace leggerli insieme all’affidarsi a qualcuno. Meraviglioso!
Qualche chicca per farvi venire un po’ di curiosità… Uscirà la gelosia di Alexius e il rapporto di complicità e competizione con i suoi fratelli, in particolare Isaia che avevo immaginato diverso. Emergerà maggiormente il ruolo di Mirabella, un personaggio meraviglioso, che adoro più di Leandra. Un destino infausto, un passato macabro e un animo combattivo e perseverante, persuasivo… bellissima in tutto e per tutto anche ora con quella cicatrice.
Un libro accattivante colmo di colpi di scena, non ti fermi mai, mai noioso (ok, troppo sesso), una rivelazione dopo l’altra e un’emozione costante.
L’attrazione si riscopre amore anche quando dirselo è difficile, ma niente riuscirà a dividere Alexius e Leandra, lui non la lascerà mai andare… lei non vuole scappare.
Non voleva scappare… Alexius, stupido idiota, cosa diavolo ti è saltato in mente?

Nella realtà non riuscirei a sopportare questo tipo di sottomissione, ma nella fantasia la bramo insieme a tutti quegli atti di ribellione che ne derivano. Vi lascio un momento bellissimo:

Proprio il gesto del bacio sulla fronte mi spinge ad amare questa coppia ancora di più. Questo tipo di bacio simboleggia il “io ti amo, io ti proteggo, io ci sarò per sempre, tu sei mia”; è la forza e la bramosia che ricerco in questo tipo di romanzi, è il motivo per cui mi piace leggerli insieme all’affidarsi a qualcuno. Meraviglioso!
Qualche chicca per farvi venire un po’ di curiosità… Uscirà la gelosia di Alexius e il rapporto di complicità e competizione con i suoi fratelli, in particolare Isaia che avevo immaginato diverso. Emergerà maggiormente il ruolo di Mirabella, un personaggio meraviglioso, che adoro più di Leandra. Un destino infausto, un passato macabro e un animo combattivo e perseverante, persuasivo… bellissima in tutto e per tutto anche ora con quella cicatrice.
Un libro accattivante colmo di colpi di scena, non ti fermi mai, mai noioso (ok, troppo sesso), una rivelazione dopo l’altra e un’emozione costante.
L’attrazione si riscopre amore anche quando dirselo è difficile, ma niente riuscirà a dividere Alexius e Leandra, lui non la lascerà mai andare… lei non vuole scappare.
Non voleva scappare… Alexius, stupido idiota, cosa diavolo ti è saltato in mente?

There is lust, raw emotion, feelings neither expected to experience, trust, betrayal, and the guilty pleasures they both crave. Between the sheets no one is hotter than Alexius, yet Leandra finds her inner vixen and certainly challenges him. While their relationship is slowly changing Leandra knows that the end is drawing near, but that does not stop her from falling for him. What will happen when it's time for her to leave?

I mean... Oh my.. Oh my... Book 1 is HOTTTTT, but this one was HOTNESS AND SPICY on crack times double. I just couldn't get enough of Alexius and Leandra and their budding love risen from the passionate depths of Lust and Wild fantasies. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
But the unknown murderer is still out there and those scenes are really tough to read and I really wanted Alexius and his brothers to find this MF as soon as possible and end him.
Along with Alexius, His brothers are equally Yummilicious and it seems like Bella is making me a many men women where Alexius and his brothers are concerned as my goodness do they all are mouth watering and so Intense, that you can't help but want to sample them all. 😉😉🥵🥵🥵
Then.... WTF... That twist out of nowhere. I can't wait to dive into the next book yet feel like I don't want to stop reading about Alexius and Leandra. They have me addicted for sure.

I love a good Mafia romance, but this one was next level. This book is a mystery -suspense, angst filled, provocative romance that will have you immersed in their dark world. Can we just take a moment to appreciate of filthy talking anti-hero? (fans self). Alexius is the epitome of a domineering, jealous and possessive kingpin, but he has newly discovered he does have a heart. I'm cutting him some slack, despite his poor tactics.
The story continues around Alexius and Leandra, as they navigate their new marriage. The twists and turns in this book will have you gasping. "His Wife," was nothing like I expected to be in the best way possible.
There's a serial killer taunting the Del Rossa family. Women that work for them are being murdered right under their noses. The secrets are exposed on the pages, in a very subtle way. Read carefully or you might miss it. Things are not as they seem. Everyone is a suspect.
The relationship between Alexius and Leandra blossoms into something real and quite special. If you recall the ending of book 1, Alexius comes up with a game plan. He follows through and the situation develops into quite a predictament. However, my heart broke for Leandra. She was betrayed in a way that's unforgivable in her eyes. I have no idea how Alexius will get out of this mess, but I am hoping there's some groveling to be had. I doubt it, since Del Rossa's do not apologize.
I truly enjoyed this well- developed storyline with fantastic characters. Leandra really steps up in this installment and becomes the best version of herself. Her battle will truly begin in the next book and I'll be waiting patiently, sort of.

Loved the first book Alexius but this one is stunning!
The heat, the passion and the lust with Leandra and Alexius is incredible.
It sparks, sizzles and ignites into one powerful explosion.
“Every time our lips collide, our tongues fuel, and our bodies rock to a rhythm our lust determines, it becomes evident that our souls were either created as one in Heaven or burned and crafted in Hell.”
Their feelings for one another are starting to change and become more complex.
Their need for each other grows by the day and sizzles by night.
Alexius is becoming more possessive, while Leandra is unsure and insecure.
“His possession of me is absolute and exhilarating, something I’m not sure I’ll be able to let go once our time together comes to an end,”
Yep hot as hell!
While their time together is quickly approaching it’s conclusion and they are trying to come to terms with that, there is still the mystery of who’s committing the murders waiting to be revealed and resolved.
Oh my goodness the turn of events and surprising twists the story takes was jaw dropping and a I did not see that coming moment. But this author is amazing like that.
Loved this book with its perfect blend of suspense, drama and sexiness.
I was on the edge of my seat, heart thumping wildly at times and not being able to fan myself fast enough at times.
A thrilling gripping consuming story and that freaking ending had me screaming and demanding to have Unraveled asap!

Don’t bother!! Even if you managed to get through book 1, there’s no real development here.
I did finish this book only because I skimmed/skipped every sex scene in the book which got me to 80%. I’m not kidding. The whole first 80% of the book is them having sex.
Finally!! There is actually some closure for the gruesome murders and of course on the last chapter the h finds out what the H and that’s it for the book.
“Love. You keep using the word like you know the meaning of it,” I spit out. “But you don’t. To you, love is control. It’s power. To you, love means you’re the puppeteer and everybody else the fucking puppet.”
Now I find it’s been strung out to a third book. Sorry I don’t have it in me to like the characters to bother with reading the third book.

This is the 2nd book in the series and all I can say is wow.
I loved this book, see the journey Between Leandra and Alexius.
After Leandra made the deal with Alexius to become his wife you see how their relationship is working.
Alexius can be ahole must of the time and Leandra will always be his stray.
There are a lot of twist and turns in this book and I don't want to give too much away,
But it is worth the read and the writing in this book and story line is amazing.
Can't wait for book 3

Mentre si avvicina la data in cui tutto potrebbe finire Alexius e la sua randagia si avvicinano, imparano a conoscersi meglio, a fidarsi e a condividere i loro desideri più oscuri, nonostante Alexius la stia corrompendo Leandra continua a mantenere la sua ingenuità, anche se inizia ad accettare la sua natura più perversa.
La tensione per la minaccia che incombe sulla famiglia Del Rossa, rende Alexius molto protettivo nei confronti di Leandra, doveva scoprire chi era il Serial Killer che stava uccidendo le ragazze del "Mito" se non voleva rischiare la sua reputazione e mettere in dubbio il potere dei Del Rossa.
«Non aspettarti che io sia un uomo giusto o razionale quando si tratta di te, perché rimarrai molto delusa. Ucciderò. Mutilerò. E distruggerò per te… che tu lo voglia o no.»
Quando sembra che tutto stia andando per il meglio si scopre che Alexius nasconde dei segreti che potrebbe compromette il rapporto e la fiducia che aveva instaurato con Sua moglie.
Cosa accadrà quando Leandra scoprirà cosa nasconde?
Non vi resta che immergervi nella lettura per scoprirlo.
Io non vedo l'ora che arrivi il capitolo finale.
Anche stavolta Bella J non si è smentita e ha soddisfatto tutte le mie aspettative, una lettura carica di tensione erotica ed emotiva, si ha sempre l'impressione che stia per accadere qualcosa di sconvolgente e quando si arriva al capitolo finale si resta senza respiro per come ci lascia in sospeso.
È stato bello ritrovare Marcello Saint Russo insieme alla moglie, Milana e Gian Silvestro con la moglie, Daniela. Per chi se li fosse persi consiglio di andare a recuperare i libri dedicati a loro, meritano assolutamente.

I was so freaking mad when this book ended... Mad...
I know that this lady is the queen of cliffhangers but Dayum... It hurts every time.
Superb plot, super engaging, dark and so so good.
I was so into the book that I read it in one sitting.
I kept telling myself that it was just one more chapter, just one more, and when I look at the clock, it was 5 am and the book ended.
I was so riled up that I couldn't sleep afterward.
The characters are perfect for each other and you can feel the love they shared.
There were parts of the book where I wanted to slap someone silly. Jesus... Possessive much?
And the hot stuff... Oh lord have mercy... It was that good.
I can't wait for the next book, because I have some questions in need of quick answers.
And not only that, but I want the books from the other 3 brothers...
I'm sending they will be intense as well.

If you have, you know that she's the queen of tease and cliffhangers... She loves to make us wait and that makes her books even more addictive.
Her writing is raw and wild, dark, and intense with tons of hot stuff.
Yeah, she's the queen all right.
His Wife is her latest release and it's the second book from the Dark Sovereign series and cannot be read before Alexius.
To fully comprehend this book, grab Alexius, get ready to scream, and only then read this one.

Leandra and Alexius Del Rossa’s story continues in this second story in the Dark Sovereign series. The mystery of who is butchering the girls continues and is very intriguing, to say the least. As more pieces of the mystery puzzle slotted together, more adrenaline raced through my system with me dying to know who the killer was! Talk about intense suspense! And I didn’t have a clue who it was either, I love an unpredictable plot!
Leandra and Alexius explore their relationship in more depth while taking their intimate life to new and different heights. Their passion sizzles into blue-flame infernos where the steamy scenes nearly catch fire. For me personally, maybe they caught alight a bit too much but I am sure others will love that erotic part. I enjoyed how much stronger Leandra was in this story, her confidence continued to grow in leaps and bounds. Alexius also grew too… I think. 🧐🤐
The descriptions in this story stand out because they are so detailed and easily create visual images of each setting and character. For example; “Sparkles of diamonds from the chandelier’s delicate web of gold and tiny crystals scatter across the foyer in a prism of color, drawing eyes to its perfection.” How gorgeous does this sound?
With an exciting ending, yet again, I look forward to the third book, Unraveled.

WOW, after reading Alexius, part one of the Dark Sovereign (Which you must read before His Wife), I have been on pins and needles waiting for this book. First I’ll say Bella J did not disappoint me with part 2. If anything she had me gripping my e-reading and on the edge of my seat. To say this book is suspenseful, tragic and full of dark heat is a total understatement. But it’s written in such a wonderful fashion that I just couldn’t help but love it. The storyline was captivating. Alexius Del Rossa is a hard man who lives for his “family” and the empire they control. Watching this man come to terms with the fact that a woman, who he didn’t even want in his life but was forced to marry, could bring him to his knees was amazing. Would Alexius find a way to keep his wife by his side? Would his dark, devious, controlling ways be the wedge that drives her away? And what about the psycho that’s murdering women at their club. Will he be found before his evil ways hit closer to home.
Outstanding read. My only regret is having to wait for part 3 to see what’s going to happen next in this saga. I was so proud of Alexius, in this read, but can a leopard really change his spots or will his controlling way finally be his downfall? This reader can’t wait to find out. Not to mention what’s going on with his brothers… just wow!!!!

No one does dark hot mafia romances quite like Bella J, and you never can be sure where the stories will go, your only guarantee is to be completely drawn into whatever this author writes because time and time again she leaves you gasping for breath and on the edge of your seat, case in point is Alexius and Leandra's story which should have been a duet, but we are left once again clinging to the armrests as we wait for the third and I hope finally book for this couple because seriously I don't think my heart can take more of this hot, dark read. What I loved so much about His Wife is that Leandra finally gives us all her gloriously strength with her very obsessive husband, not that she hasn't come to love him for it but sometimes you can overstep and boy did Alexius overstep, and while all this is going on Alexius and his brothers are being swept into a deadly game of cat and mouse.
I wasn't expecting the third book but then again I have come to expect the unexpected from this author.

There were characters from prior stories in this series that you can read first, but I did not find myself lost without knowing their stories while intrigued and wanting to go back and read them too:

This is my second of two reads from Bella J. I was able to read book 1 and 2 back to back, and am really looking forward to the conclusion.
I went in not knowing what to expect. It is on trope Alpha, Mafia read yet not trite or too predictable. This book was left on a big plot twist, turn. So if you like the cliff hanger this should leave you wanting more. I have gone back and forth with wanting to love and hate the H. Alexius is the poster child for anti-hero. Leandra is developing into her power and makes you want to cheer for her. How will it end? How will their power struggle develop? Can’t wait to find out.

I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first installment, was actually quite bored for most of the book. The entire trip to Italy could have been cut in my opinion, unless the people we met there will come into play in the next book. I understand that they were couples from other books by this author, so I may have enjoyed this part more had I read those books, but I haven't so it was kind of just filler to me.
Once Alexius and Leandra came home, things did pick up, and I enjoyed the thriller bit. I'm glad that was resolved, but wish there would have been more revealed about the culprit's past, so we could understand more about the reasoning. What was presented was too basic, and it seems as through the family plans to sweep it under the rug and we won't see the topic again. But who knows, maybe it will come back into play in the last book of the trilogy, or in future brother's books.
I've listened to the audiobook for this series, and it is really well done. In this case, it was probably what kept me engaged enough to finish.

I normally don’t go for duet or trilogy because by the time I get the second and third I forget the first one. But not Bella’s books. This 5 star story had me binge read it on a road trip back home. I was captivated by these characters.
This is the continuation of Leandra and Alexius’s story. This is a dark romance/force marriage. Their plot thickens all the time.
An highly suspenseful story. This story is not for the faint of heart, it’s rough and explicit. There are some steamy scenes that are scorching hot. The story is addicting and highly entertaining. Bottomline this is a must read.
This is the second part of a 3 part so it is not meant to be read as a standalone. Told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story. I can’t wait for the 3rd part.

OMG, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book!
I couldn’t wait to see how the story of Alexius and Leandra continued and I wasn’t disappointed with the 10+ steam rating along with the suspense of the ever increasing threats against the Del Rossa’s is a huge plot twist. I loved how the two grow through their relationship, so what started as an arrangement turns into something more. But the stunner of all plot twists happens at the end leaving you on a cliffhanger! I can’t wait for “Unraveled” to come out!

Riveting!!! Don't Miss this Series! This story is scorching hot! The emotions in the book are intense and had me turning pages as fast as possible even though I didn't want it to end. The marriage between Leandra and Alexius Del Rossa takes a turn as the chemistry between these two takes off. Be prepared as Alexius and Leandra explore their carnal desires. Add in a major danger surrounding them and the family. This book blew me away. Read it today!!!
