Let’s start with the content warnings because this is a weird one. All the sex, including the administration of sexualized punishments, is M/M, but the world is run by women. Men live as tribute and are required to maintain an erection at all times. So we’ve got herbal aphrodisiacs, itching oil, orgasm denial, sounding, prostate milking, erotic pain, gangbangs, humiliation, dubcon, slut shaming, internalized homophobia, and erections lasting longer than four hours. What we don’t have is a partnered HEA. The main character ends up happy, but he’s happy in a group way, not in a partnered way.
Now for the story: When Cyrrus Maccucius, Firstborn Son of King Luxifer and Heir to the Throne of Homunculus, insists on being taken as hostage in his sister’s place, he imagines he’s doing an honorable thing. But he has no idea what kind of environment he’s heading into. His sister would’ve been fine in Dominia. Cyrrus? Not so much.
From his humiliating arrival to his devastating surrender, Cyrrus is teased, tortured, and taught his place by a host of men, most particularly his sternly distant trainer, Torun. Cyrrus’s cell is nightly visited by opportunistic guards, and his days consist of struggling to maintain an erection without ever being allowed to climax. In the midst of this horny subjugation, Cyrrus discovers his true nature.
More serious content warning: due to the strong association between erections and masculinity, people with gender-sensitive dysphoria may find this uncomfortable to read. Please use caution.
After this book, I must admit that T.M. Chris is becoming one of my favorite authors for "guilty pleasure" reads! Ruled takes place in a medieval matriarchal queendom where the women are rulers and masters; while the men are sexual playthings and servant.
The story follows Cyrrus, a prince from a patriarchal country much like how things were in our society back then; as he was captured and subsequently trained to be integrated into the matriarchal society.
I was mildly embarrassed by how much I enjoyed this book (only mildly, because I'm shameless). However, I was thoroughly shocked to realize that I don't think I'd want to live in such a society! 😂
The premise of this looked amusing, but it was far funnier than I'd expected. The turn around on Cyrrus coming from his rather misogynistic country to a femdom country...hilarious.
It was unexpectedly adorable too, Cyrrus got to be so much happier than he would have been otherwise. Highly amusing settings, events, and I enjoyed all the characters.
I also liked that Elixa got to escape Homonculus (pls, these names lmao)
Such a good ride! The femdom element had just enough emphasis, the slow morphing of Cyrrus was extremely fun to watch, and the erotic elements were both surprising and interesting.
Yes, this is something else, please do read the content warnings.
Cyrrus is the son of King Luxifer and heir to the throne, that’s now in the past, he will never leave Dominia again. His entree to Dominia was humiliating, secured on a wooden phallus, for everyone to see. Cyrrus is kept hostage in a Kingdom that’s ruled by women, the men are here to serve, they have to stay hard all the time, they are not allowed to come, ever. Torun is Cyrrus his trainer. Cyrrus has to learn to obey, serve, and above all stay erect, he’s in so much trouble. Torun will learn him in all the brutal (sexual) ways, by torture, humiliation in word and deed, day in day out stimulation with every sexual attribute you can think of. Imagine a handful of men with needs. Cyrrus doesn’t want to like it, but his member below has other thoughts. How? he asks himself.
The longer Cyrrus is used and trained the more he gets settled.
Oh boy, that was one big fuckfest. I’m a bit speechless, it was indeed something different. I loved the creative mind of the author, there was no repetitive act, it was inventive, intense, and super hot. For my pleasure, I would have loved some more palpable emotions from Cyrrus’ side, but I think that wasn’t the purpose of this story. The writing was smoothly done, the flow was great, and the whole erotic story was appetizing and appealing. A creative tantalizing story!
A weird world, that feels somewhat medieval, and is a female-ruled kingdom, that acquires a young man (prince) as a hostage and rapidly realizes that men have a very different role in this society. This is an interesting, very graphic, take on Femdom, with lots of dub-con scenes, and mostly m/m interactions, with the job of Fluffer, as an actual paid job. Heh.
I just didn’t like this. I’ve read other works by T.M. Chris, including Trained, and maybe I wasn’t paying as much attention while reading them, but this just struck me as unpleasantly homophobic. Over and over, the main character feels shame and humiliation over having anal sex, especially with men who are less masculine.
I’m guessing it was the femdom part of this book that made it so unappealing to me, but whatever it was, this just wasn’t my taste. 1/5 stars.
Chris comes up with some imaginative, twisted and steamy stories and this is one of them. Cyrrus, a high and mighty heir to the throne of his kingdom surrenders himself as hostage to a conquering female-dominated kingdom where men are subjugated, aroused and denied satisfaction and release. No hints at all of any male-female intimate contact.
This whole story is Cyrrus's transformation, humiliation and training to live and love a life of subservience. Although women have instituted the harsh rules he must learn to obey, it's other men who exploit him. And does he quickly learn to crave it! We're talking about multiple forms of sexual exploitation and humiliation here.
This is some strange kingdom! I had to wonder how they continued to exist and how they repopulated, but this is a story tightly centered on Cyrrus so I guess the larger picture does not really matter.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.
What could a Kingdom run by women know about war? Cyrrus Maccucius found out when the heir urged his father, the King to attack a neighboring Kingdom. Now enslaved to the Kingdom of Queen Ascencia, Cyrrus found out the hard way that men were pets and women ruled. This book is full of encounters that blow the mind and Cyrrus comes to find out a lot about himself along the way. This book is a deep look at role reversal and was harsh at times and incredible hot. This story gives an interesting perspective that intrigued and captivated me to keep reading to see if Cyrrus learned his lesson and place where he longed to be. It’s a wild ride, a quick read for me since I like to dig in when I read a book and I really enjoyed it.
This is an interesting story about finding out your true desires. Cyrrus is a prince and heir to the throne but a miscalculation about a neighboring land has Cyrrus and his family in trouble. His arrogance leads Cyrrus into a new world where he is no longer in control and treated much differently than he is used to.
This story pulled me in right from the start and I quickly devoured it. While it is graphic and erotic it does have a well-developed plot. The characters are strong, and I enjoyed seeing the way Cyrrus grows and finds his way. I would advise reading the trigger warnings before you delve into the world Cyrrus find himself in. It was interesting to see a world where men were treated as sexual objects, and I hope this is not the last time we get to visit this world.
If you are looking for a prince learning to take many c0cks... This is your ready... The story is ridiculously entertaining and interesting on it'd take on men's places in a Kingdom ran by women... Where erections are tribute and orgasms for men are forbidden... This gritty... Messy... And, phallus filled read leaves you fulfilled in a peculiar way... All hale the fluffer...
MM+ NON-TRADITIONAL HEA STRICT TOP/BOTTOM NONCON/DUBCON/SOUNDING/ENEMAS MILD ANGST 3RD PERSON POV 3.5 IN THE 🔥🔥🔥 DEPARTMENT
Definitely read the author's notes about this, but if you want some incredible world building that could spark some great discussions along with enough heat to melt your device or pages, grab this one. It gave me all sorts of ideas about pairing this with some SF about women dominated societies and having a really interesting discussion group. Going to have to think more about that.
I thoroughly enjoyed this super hot, spicey and steamy novella, set in a kingdom where the men are required to show tribute to their ladies every day. Although not a traditional hea story it does have a very satisfying ending, so if you're interested in something a bit different give this a try.
Pretty much exactly what it says on the tin. If you heed the content warnings and know what you're getting into when you go in, you'll probably enjoy it. Is enjoy the right word for something like this? Anyway, Chris is always a fantastic writer.
I loved this book, would have loved more of it even! I don't give plots away so won't go into details so read the warnings and then, if you won't freak out , read the book! You won't regret it!
First pay attention to the trigger warnings because while I am not offended by this many people might be so you have been warned. This is a different type story than I usually expect from this author but is entertaining. As a hostage Cyrrus is subjected to almost everything that can happen to him. The interesting part is he finds he likes what happens to him. This author has the ability to make the stories so detailed it is easy to picture what is happening. This story has so many different situations that I did not expect and the ending involving his sister is not what I thought it would be. Again, this author comes up with such original stories that I can’t imagine what will be next but be sure it will be on my watch list.
Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. I just love the names, they fit the characters so well. Talk about holding on to your seat, woohoo that Prince is about to have his eyes and uhm others things opened to new possibilities. Under Queen Ascencia how long to break the arrogant or foolish the Prince and heir's. After Cyrrus is demeaning of what a women's capability. Taken as a willing hostage, to further prove this, only he was ready for the kingdom of Dominians! Public humiliation was just the start of breaking the the Prince, endless hours of intense scenes. Only Cyrrus wasn't the one that suffered the hardest.
I'm not sure I was ready for what this was, but it was fantastic. Very hot and great writing that kept me entertained. Definitely worth a future re-read.

Ha!! Cyrrus, a Crown Prince, offers himself as a hostage instead of his sister, when the neighbouring Dominia (matriarch ruled land) invades & over-runs his country. VERY similar to Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty trilogy - so really an awful lot of fun :) (PS: "keeping it up" takes on a HUGE difference in meaning :) :) :)
