After finishing her degree, Alma heads to New York City to start her career as a journalist. It’s too bad she has to stay with her older cousin, Theo, and his roommate/lover/ex-fiance, Kennedy Shay. On one last pit stop before New York City, Alma spends the afternoon at the Philadelphia Museum of Art where she becomes engrossed in a local exhibiting artist. Little does she know that she will meet this artist in a twist of fate and adamantly insists that her uninspired cousin Theo join in the adventure. Follow the tales of the characters through paint and writing. Every story has to start somewhere. Right?

About the author

Alex Sauer

Alex Sauer sometimes calls herself a writer when she is not moody. She published her first play, Falling Love With Your GBF, in 2018 and now has a growing collection of works. She can’t control her writing style so she sometimes publishes a poem or two. Look for her upcoming young adult series, The Tourists. If you like One Direction and all things melodramatic, you will probably love this new series. When she is not writing in a café, Alex is working and working some more at one of many jobs. She sometimes takes a pause to give her corgi, Daisy, all the belly rubs in the world. She currently is the resident playwright at the Pharmacy Theatre and a contributor to the Paragon Press.

She is a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College where she majored in History and Spanish (which is probably why she won’t stop writing about Valencia and café con leches). She is currently pursuing a M.A. in Creative Writing at Southern New Hampshire University. She is also a proud alumna of Milton Hershey School, which is located in Hershey, PA. Yes, it smelled like chocolate sometimes. And yes, you should buy Hershey’s chocolate because it supports 2,000 plus kids with a safe place to live, great education, and scholarship. She prides herself on being originally from the Berkshires in Massachusetts, even though she has been a resident of Pennsylvania for all of her adult life (so far).

She hopes you enjoy her writing and hopes it makes you laugh as much as it makes her laugh.

Alma is a bad ass. She is able to connect the dots and really holds the plot together. I like the abstract way that we learn pieces about Kennedy through both her artwork and Theo’s vision of her.
