This book goes way more in depth than teaching reading. I just love the way it is written. It is like the author is talking directly to me. You as a parent, grandparent, auntie, uncle, or teacher/educator will learn skills to provide an in-depth foundational set of skills to your toddler that no other book I have seen provides. I am so inspired to put these practices into action with my little one. Maybe the author will write a book for the next stage my child will grow into. This is a great gift idea too. Please share with your family, friends, and your teachers. Our children deserve this book.

What a fantastic, informative, helpful book! I teach in Asia and found this book to be invaluable. Right from start to finish, the learning follows a clear, logic flow. As a teacher I enjoyed the level of English it is pitched at and there are clear, interesting examples and how to's to incorporate in each lesson. The diagrams and pictures are well placed through the book and the flow of the book is set at an amazing level. The chapters are easy to follow and flow. If you are a teacher, add this book to your collection immediately. If you're a parent wanting to guide and help your child, this book is a must have. Congratulations on such a fantastic book.

Reading is fundamental
I like that this book had a great information, personal for the author and was straightforward.
I was pushing my kids to read at one point and they didn’t like that. It helped when I got into character, followed the words with my finger and asked questions pertaining to said paragraph. Having milestones in the book for different age groups was helpful.
Will be reading again to assist my children to develop a love for reading and be ahead of the game when they enter into primary.

The book is good, but it isn't what I was looking for.
The book is more for parents of very young preschool children, it talks about important first principles on which the language understanding and use is built and talks about developing those.
I was specifically looking for effective reading techniques, as well as techniques of effective reading for kids.

Very Informative
As a former teacher and now a stay at home grandma, I found this book to be very informative. I especially like the game ideas at the end of each chapter. I will reference this book time again as I work with my 1 1/2 year old granddaughter.

I purchase it in my Kindle and I would definitely recommend this book to teachers and parents to use as a guide when they have young ones. The book explained allot of concepts which really easy to comprehend. The step but step guide on how you should teach a child is simple to follow and the book also contains how you can assess their progress, which is really helpful. Overall, I highly recommend this especially to first time parents.
