THE SHADOW WAR’S EPIC CONCLUSION! The shocking finale of the Shadow War! Lives have been lost. Heroes and villains have fallen in battle. And now the real mastermind behind the Shadow War has been revealed. But they are far from done! Batman and Robin are all that’s left to put a stop to their real plans. Can the father-and-son duo work together to save the day? Events in this issue lead directly into DC’s next big summer event!
A good storyline. Blown out of proportion. Deathstroke dead? Did not believe that for a second. Back to my Batman & Detective titles. I might sneak a look into Deathstroke, Year One.
I don't understand some writers' obsession with corrupting older or more obscure heroes and heel-turning them into super villains. It's not edgy; it's not clever. It's lazy and disrespectful.
"Angel Breaker" is one of the stupidest character names I've ever seen.
I have kind of mixed feelings about this. The story, overall, was quite good but it just seemed to be another event to set up what'll be ongoing storylines throughout the various Bat-affiliated titles. This would ordinarily be okay (after all, that's all Marvel events are these days as well) but I just can't shake the feeling that Dark Crisis is going to shove all this stuff to the back burner and, when/if they ever get back to it, it'll feel like it didn't really matter.
And coming off the heals of Robin 14...BINGO! 🙄 I think Young Justice has made Brion so unlikeable that I just don't care about his plight or justifications or reasons. He really seems like a washed out wannabe version of Black Adam. Loved the splash page duo, but Event Leviathan kind of sucked and that didn't help Brion's backstory at all. Asking what Batman would do if Gotham City was destroyed? Um...how many times has Gotham City been destroyed and how many times have we seen exactly what Batman did do? I won't put that on Williamson since such an insipid question is totally in character for GeoForce, but it's just a crap and overused excuse.
This issue is outstanding! Omg Geo Force got punched by Damin and kicked by Talia. And still wouldn't stop talking. I love Damin for taking the initiative to talk to his mom.
I had skipped all the Bendis written books (that was mostly Superman stuff) so it is kind of unsettling that the big reveal in this Batman cross-over comes from Bendis' run...
The Prologue ties directly into Dark Crisis, so this is a never ending succession of events.
