Dnf'd at 67%.
I can't believe I even made it that far. The idea of this book sounds amazing and the blurb sounds enticing, yet the execution is subpar at best. The characters were shells and they honestly had no depth, no chemistry, literally nothing. Just echos of words. I honestly tried but I just can't do it. The pacing in this book is terrible. The story telling is questionable. I wish I could have stopped after the first few pages because even from the beginning, I could tell it was going to be terrible.

this is another insta love in a sense that its an established fact from the start of the book that the MCs have feelings for each other. in their reality, its a long time coming, but we are not privy to their history so...“insta” love. 🤷‍♀️ i appreciate the MCs trying to make things interesting by assuming the other person hates them. unfortunately, this lasts for only one sec because they get “drunk” married in Vegas and eventually confess their love. 💀

at one point, the h gets attacked, and the H has to nurse her. i love that the h is not some helpless mafia princess. she knows how to fight and protect herself. you’ll see how deep the H has gone for her if you like the “taking care of MC when sick” trope. 🥰 the relationship dynamics in this book (family, friendship, romantic) are all simply very sweet & full of warmth. theres action & violence, but overall this is probably the “lightest” installment in this series of light mafia romances. ☺

This is one of those times where you can’t say that you got soooo drunk in Vegas you don’t remember getting married… but you’re going to pretend you were anyway 😉😈👀.

Mariya (26) and Luca (34) have been wanting each other for years now, except that they’ve never acted on it and act like they kind of hate each other 👀. When Mariya’s going to Vegas to celebrate her birthday, Luca is completely on board to join her and her brother. Not only is it the City of Sin, but it’s also considered the Marriage Capital of the World.

They’re enjoying their time dancing, drinking, etc when Mariya gets the bright idea to get out of there. And lo and behold, they come across a chapel 😉, and Mariya innocently suggests that they get married, and well, Luca could never tell her no 🤷🏻‍♀️.

He’s being a thoughtful gentleman 🫠. He even calls her “Mia Regina” MY QUEEN 🥹. Why wouldn’t he say yes 👀😈.

When she realizes what they’ve done, she wants an annulment ; too bad Luca isn’t going to give her one 🤣😅💅 (and their families suggest they try it out for 6 months… But that’s beside the point 😅)

What I loved: (possible spoilers)
—the tension 🔥. As soon as these two are in the same room, it’s like they can’t help but gravitate towards each other. I wish we would’ve seen some of their earlier years to feel this even more. Either way the way these two were dancing 😮‍💨🥵. No wonder they got married lol

—the smeeexy times🔥. Look. I can appreciate when any man isn’t squeamish about a little bl00d during the month, and Luca isn’t going to let biology stop him from getting some 💅. Not only that, but Mariya has never experienced Os before, even by herself, so OF COURSE, Luca’s going to show her who’s boss 😉🥵 and does he ever 😮‍💨💦

—how protective and caring Luca is. Gaaahhh 😩😩😩. When Mariya gets taken, he’s beside himself and completely miserable. Once he gets her back, he does everything to make her feel better, which leads me to

—how caring he is 🥹😩❤️. Omg… ERMAGOD… I was literally 🫠melting with his dedication to helping Mariya heal 😩🥹. We actually see the difficulty Mariya goes through while healing; I mean, I even got emotional (like when she asks for her mom or when she doesn’t wanna be a burden). Gahhh ❤️. But Luca isn’t going to stop being by her side 🥹❤️❤️❤️. He gets her a CAST COVER and takes care of her like it’s going out of style 🥰. Le sigh 🥹

—being creative when they can’t be intimate. Mariya, scoot over, I want a front row seat too 👀🔥🥵💦 lol. This was actually pretty 🔥

—the fact that Mariya knows how to fight 💁🏻‍♀️👏🏻 especially cause this comes in handy

—the comeuppance 👏🏻. Yup. It was needed 👌🏻🤌🏻. This was EXTREMELY satisfying 💅

—the epilogue. Dear lord… Michelle… you always get me with the darn epilogues!!! I FLOOOOVE THEM 🥰🥰🥰

—the wedding ❤️

—the angst. Sigh. I wanted to hug Mariya when she was experiencing her PTSD episodes 😏❤️

What I wanted more of:
—more clarity on the MCs smeexual history. Besides knowing that it’s been a while for both of them, how long has it really been? Why wasn’t Luca more active in making sure Mariya was his and only his? Yes, I know. She’s a mafia princess and he wants to be worthy of her, but come on… This is what I mean about wanting more about their previous history. Was he driving away her previous boyfriends? Did he have any girlfriends? We know she’s been wanting him for like 11 years and he’s been wanting her for a few as well, so what’s been happening all this time? It’s almost implied, but I wanted it to be laid out lol

—It’s not often I read books where the h can’t O, so when this comes up, I wanted it to be a big deal and be drawn out. She’s experienced enough to “know” it’s not something that she’s ever gone through, yet he can do it easily enough? 🤔. Where’s the buildup? The tension in this? I needed this to be a longer scene. It felt way too quick.

—when they’re finally able to be intimate again, it ends up being a FTB scene 😏😐. I don’t even know if I’ve ever read a FTB scene in this series, so I was taken aback when this happen. And, I’ll be honest, disappointed too 🤷🏻‍♀️. They had only done it once before (the bl00dy one), and after Mariya’s recovery, don’t let it be a FTB scene. Even I was experiencing withdrawals 🤣🤣🤣

I can't believe I even got this far. I saw this book on insta and loved the idea of ​​the book but when I got to it I wished I hadn't.

It is written in wattpad style and the storyline is almost impossible to comprehend. The story is all over the place and the writing style is really bad.

The characters were shells and they honestly had no depth, no chemistry, no personality, literally nothing at all.

I've been dying to read Luca and Mariya story since the teasers and I'll be honest i was nervous how they would act and lord!!! I loved it one of my fave couples!!

There family always been close Luca godfather is Mariya dad so yeah they been in eachothers lives. But them two there friendship/relationship isn't really one since there always standoffs or sassy towards eachother but both have been pinning after one another just not the right time. Luca wants his empire built before he goes after his queen and Mariya thinks Luca never see her. But vegas and drinking and few white lies has these two married and forced to stay married for 6 months. Luca is already set he won't even give his woman a divorce, we see them have ups and downs working on there relationship. But tragedy happens causing some major truama for Mariya. This brings the couple closer together and I love it!!! The things Luca does for Mariya it made me tear up. And the spice.. lets say there is period play;)

I read this book in mere hours and I have to admit that I liked this one more than the other books in the series. Mariya & Luca were meant to be and when their hidden feeling started to show bit by bit, the connection between them grew stronger and the attraction was impossible to be overlooked. I didn't see the twists coming at all and I was shocked with what happened to Mariya. Though I'm glad that she had her family and Luca by her side because that made the process of healing easier. I loved Mariya's strength. She was so strong, sassy yet so vulnerable sometimes. Luca on the other hand knew what he wanted and did the one thing he could to make Mariya his wife. But I loved the fact that he took her feelings in consideration and fulfilled her wish about the dream wedding she wanted, that was so beautiful! Overall, I enjoyed the book, it was entertaining and has the accidental marriage trope with dual pov.

Що можу сказати відразу, я ненавиджу коли головні герої не можуть просто сісти і поговорити. Ну це ж набагато простіший варіант, ніж видумавати щось у себе в голові. Тут діалогів між головними героями про стосунки не було майже до 20% книги. Вони обгрунтовували всі свої дії, якимись безглуздими припущеннями. Від таких сильних характерів та персонажів, я особисто очікувала чогось іншого🫣
Так пізніше була ситуація де авторка показала на скільки сильна головна героїня, як у фізичному так і моральному плані. Але і тут є свої нюанси, бо моментами все здаволося ну дуже не реалістичним та забагато екшену.
Але в цей час головні герої нарешті поговорили про свої почуття. Те як надалі розвивались їх стосунки було цілком передбачувано, але це незавадило відчути їх взаємну одержимість один одним🔥
В даній книзі мені вистачило мафіозної лінії🖤 але все ж від любовної лінії, я чекала чогось іншого🫣 тому ставлю 4/5⭐️

Chosen by a Sinner was a brilliant story and I had so much fun with this one, and while it doesn't beat book 3 (because that is my favorite of the series and holds a special place in my heart), I also had so much fun with this one. It definitely had themes in it that felt more to her backlisted books. And it was quite interesting to see how it just had a different feel to the story. This has so many tropes in it that was so much fun to read through.

I really found that these worked so well together. The story is where our heroine, has been in love with the heroine for years but their relationship is awkward and strained as she puts a distance between them never letting him know of her feelings. Luca on the other hand has been in love with Mariya and when an opportunity presents itself, to marry her in Vegas, he goes for it. Then their families agree on a six-month marriage, and while at first there are some unresolved issues, Luca and Mariya learn to connect and discover the truth about their hearts.

I will say that this book just won my heart so quickly and I couldn't get enough of this story but it's so FAST PACED, like the plot and the romance it really develops super quickly. So be aware of that, I actually didn't mind it at all, because the connection and heart were so entrenched deeply in the story. I loved this heroine though. Because she is so feminine but when she needs to be she can kick ass and it's a beautiful thing. I love these types of heroines because she can be soft and sweet and then be a badass when the situation calls for it. She was so relatable. The relationship is my kind of match-up as it has a "marriage of convenience" feel to it. I also had quite a bit of fun in seeing these two face up to the danger that is ahead of them and how they deal with it. It just worked so well here and I couldn't get enough of them as they are such a solid pair.

Overall I found Chosen by a Sinner to be a superb read that kept my attention, had me addicted to the romance all the way through, and delivered in the heart in a sensation way!

I really enjoyed Chosen by the Sinner - especially because I read and enjoyed their parents' books and it was nice to see their kids all grown up. The story is fast paced with a ton of action right to the last page. The chemistry between Luca and Mariya is fantastic and she definitely is his perfect queen. I really enjoyed watching her grow in the face of adversity to become that much stronger! I really can't wait for her brother Victor's story. So many good hints dropped for what's to come!

They love each other for years but only got together officially when both of them are 26 and 34 years old. Even though that's romantic and sweet, personally i don't like love story like that. I like it when both are together already, since the moment they laid eyes on each other and they will be together right that instant. But this one is not... and also their love is not too romantic for me, i personally don't feel the strong chemistry like i wanted it to be. So I don't like it tho, it's just me lol. But overall the story is cute, safe, romantic and hot with the couple born with a mafia family... happy ending.

this was my most anticipated book out of the series ever since i read the love story of maryia's parents. was this couple as good as alexei x isabella? there's no comparison, but i must admit i preferred the way the "no memory" trope was done this time around; unlike what happened in the first generation, now the foundation of their love was already there so the deception didn't taint their beginning. after the 50% mark i spent mostly the rest of the book sobbing. witnessing alexei, the one who has saved every "little one" in the series, being unable to protect his baby girl just reinforced my perspective of him as klaus mikaelson. but she is the daughter of the princess of terror and the carbon copy of her father through and through; kicking ass and refusing to die - that scene with the priesthood's mafiosos watching the footage of her kidnapping and praising her combat skills was so precious. and viktor stole the show, he's finally next.

My favorite in the series! I got the arc for this book, and I devoured it in one sitting. I fell absolutely in love with Luca and Mariya.

Safety gang:
- Age gap (H 34 / h 26)
- No cheating
- No OW/OM drama
- Torture (on page not by H)
- Violence
- Post-trauma
- HEA (renewed their vows and have twin boys)

The fact that they both were madly in love with each other, and they both assumed that they were always animosity between them or that they could never feel the same was angsty as hell!

They have known each other almost all of their lives and their families are incredibly close, but they never truly were friends so when the chance came for Luca to join Mariya and Viktor on her trip to Las Vegas to celebrate her 26th birthday he didn’t hesitate.

The drunken idea to get married worked in his favor and it made all his dreams come true and to be honest all her dreams true too. I loved that it was her idea and maybe he should of said no but how could he have done that when he truly loves her and wanted her as his wife all along?

Three days after their wedding she gets attacked by the Albanian gang who has bene causing nothing but issues to Luca – I honestly expected her to not react how she did when she was being kidnapped and tortured. We are told and shown that she is a Bratva Princess and was raised to be fearless considering who her parents are but to see her take down the men around her and not give up was amazing. I was proud as a reader to read about a female MC in such a light – especially in a mafia romance.

I love the dynamics between the Mafia leaders (the other MC's from previous books) and the dynamics between the families. It's rare to read a mafia book without one parent being an absolutely disgrace but not in this world.

We also got more of a glimpse about what the hell is going on with Viktor and Rosalie. I seriously cannot wait for their book and thankfully we only have to wait a month before we get that conclusion!

Overall, I loved this book – I enjoyed reading about their love and how deeply profound it was. The way they both decided to kill their enemy together like the badass married couple they are.

I literally can't wait to find out Viktor's story with Rosalie! That man is brutal!

But i am in love with Luca Cotroni. I need a Luca Cotroni in my life. That man is a 10.

So good I started re-reading chapters before I could finish…

Oh my heart, Luca and Mariya were amazing together! The king of the Priesthood and the beloved daughter of mafia royalty, their courtship was wracked with tension, suppressed feelings and a whole heck of a lot of family. The good and bad kind….

At odds with each other, they kept their distance. Until they got close. Incredibly, intimately close. The bickering never stopped though and it was oh so entertaining. I laughed and cheered from the sidelines until… Their world was torpedoed. Rocked on its axis. And stopped. In an instant both their lives changed and the future became uncertain.

To say this was a wild ride is a cliché I could say all day. And mean it every time! I read chapters and stopped, only to go back and read them right away all over again. The raw emotion. The love that refused to hide any longer… Oh yeah, their story had it all!

This series, with incredible family and brotherhood, is one of my all-time favourites. The feelings the stories stir up, the characters, the love that binds them all together within a walk on the darker side… Yeah, it only gets better and better… Read as a stand-alone and it is wonderful. Chosen by a Sinner is a book that you wont be able to put down. You will forget about reality and will be submerged into this accidental marriage between the Bratva Princess and the Head of the Italian Mafia. It's filled with intense drama, page turning action and all-around consuming emotions that you wont want to come out of.

I can finally breath! Not ready to say goodbye to this series, I was procrastinating reading this book but finally couldn’t wait anymore.

What I love the most about this series is, once I start the book I get so invested and enamoured that I lose all sense of time and reality.
It’s just start, boom and then I’m on chap 26!


I loved Mariya and Luca. They were both wonderful, stubborn and badass. Mariya definitely surprised me with how much strength and courage she had. Not surprising actually when you think who her parents are. Each of their initial meetings were clash of stubbornness and elegance. I loved how they were pining for each other unknowingly and trying to make each other fall in love in the meantime. Told in dual POV this is a fantastically written mafia romance with zero other women drama.

Loved the priesthood and how they all came together for Luca. I also enjoyed the way Mariya joined Luca in the final fight.


Recommended, standalone and included kindle unlimited.

This was an enjoyable, quick read. Fun in the beginning, almost a Vegas RomCom practically.. then the middle broke my heart..

Then the caretaking made me swoon.

However, it all just flew by way too fast. The first 60% took place over 4 days.. FOUR!

It just dint have the same spark I got from the previous 2 books.

But bring on Viktor. I'm ready!!
