Monarch butterflies migrate as far as 3000 miles each year! Is it just instinct that drives the small and delicate creatures to fly from the US and Canada to Michoacán, Mexico? Is it mere coincidence that millions of butterflies returned to Michoacan, or is there another force that drives them to arrive… Just in time for the day of the dead? As Teresa and her grandmother prepare the families altar to honor their Mazahua ancestors, Teresa discovers the incredible secret that hides among the wings of the monarch butterflies.

very cute - a great cultural connection and easy enough for novice learners to follow along despite having two concurrent storylines (that, of course, connect at the end).
